VIDEO: First Read Minute: Tough week for the White House

President Obama was hit with a trio of controversies that have the potential to derail his second term agenda, NBC's Domenico Montanaro reports.

Not only does the Obama Administration have these 3 scandals to handle, the 3d US Circuit Court of Appeals followed the DC Circuit Court of Appeals ruling that Obama DID NOT have the right to make those "recess appointments" to the NLRB.

Mark and Dom Good to see the legislative process in action on Immigration. As I noted earlier, I am glad that the poison pill amendments have so far been struck down. I'm proud of the gang of eight. The senate committee is discussing and trying to solve an important issue.

VIDEO: First Read Minute: Let's do the time warp again

The GOP shifts its focus to Hillary Clinton after Wednesday's congressional hearing on the attacks in Benghazi and the Senate immigration bill markup begins on Capitol Hill, NBC's Mark Murray and Domenico Montanaro report.

I commented on Tuesday that this was all about Clinton in an effort to preempt her run in 2016. The GOP is completely focused on her because it'll be an uphill battle with anyone they run against her...unless they can disqualify her before the campaigning even begins.

I kind of hope Virginia elects it's very own Tea Party governor. Why should Maine, Wisconsin and Florida have all the fun? Then they will find out exactly how these policies work in practice, and what it's like to live under a little right-wing despot. Let's put it this way, Maine's legislature rema …

Highlight of the ceremony by far was the interaction between President Obama and Barbara Bush. Does anyone have the official count of how many times "W" said; awesome? If Republicans don't compromise--and compromise significantly--and then vote on reasonable and responsible gun control measure, they are shooting themselves in their feet.
