Off to the races: Primary positioning

Hillary Clinton beats Jeb Bush and Marco Rubio in Florida if she were to run, according to Quinnipiac. Clinton bests Bush 51%-40% and Rubio 52%-41%

Here’s how different the Democratic and Republican primaries are shaping up to be… The Star Ledger: “Gov. Chris Christie said today he's undecided on whether the state should ban the controversial use of ‘gay conversion therapy,’ but the Republican governor still opposes same-sex marriage. Christie said that he only knows little about the method. California enacted a law prohibiting the practice, but a federal court has blocked its implementation.”

Christie on Rob Portman’s decision to be in favor of same-sex marriage: "But as far as how it affects my view, no, because that question implies that somehow this is a political judgment and for me it's not."

MASSACHUSETTS: Deval Patrick announced that he was running for a third term yesterday despite having professed not to. It set off eight minutes of scurrying to figure out what was going on. Patrick then said he was just kidding.

A Massachusetts Republican sheriff joked about Obama and assassination. Political Wire: “The Quincy Patriot Ledger reports Massachusetts sheriff Joseph McDonald (R) is defending a joke he made about President Obama during a breakfast for Republicans when he said the ghost of Abraham Lincoln visited Obama in his dreams and gave him advice on how to improve the country: ‘Go to the theater.’”

He says, hey! It was a joke.

WEST VIRGINIA: “Though for the last several weeks, Democratic hopes of retaining Sen. Jay Rockefeller's seat in 2014 have looked bleak, it seems party operatives may have finally found their unicorn in West Virginia: a wealthy, pro-coal, pro-business Democrat in the style of Sen. Joe Manchin, D-W.V. Attorney Nick Preservati has spoken with the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee about running for the seat, in conversations that the committee found "encouraging," according to a source with knowledge of the discussions,” National Journal writes.

Yowsa. Guess it pays to have survived the Republican smear and slander machine once. Kind of inoculates you, like surviving the flu. Sing along with me "what doesn't kill you, makes you stronger..."

The only thing is, she didn't survive the smear and slander machine of one in her own party. The Republicans had nothing to do with her losing the primaries to a lesser qualified opponent.

hey! I voted for Barack Obama in the caucus, over Rodham-Clinton. It was a tough choice. Obama just seemed like the right man at the right time, however. Time has shown t was a smart decision.

I'll happily vote for Rodham-Clinton in 2016. Who will you support?

I think Hillary's problem in 2008 is that she seemed to approach the primaries with a sense of entitlement, and that rubbed a lot of Democrats the wrong way. She will need to correct that tendency in 2016 if she decides to run. This isn't the Republican Party, after all, where nominees are consistently selected based on being "next in line."

What ever makes you feel better Hand. Even though it's eating you up inside.

You forget Levithewonderdog. The streak is going to be three in a row for us Liberal Democrats. It started with President Bill Clinton with a Bush hiccup. But you see smart voters like us Liberal Democrats didn't vote for Cheney/Bush, we voted for a real President Bill Clinton.

You make fun of "smart Liberal Democrat" math when YOU apparently cannot read????? Obama+Obama+ Clinton = 3 in the row. That what he was talking about. So who is the "smart" one now?

btw, the 2000 election was a hiccup - the FL governor "Little Bro" Bush hiccup.

Jeb accomplished nothing of note here in Florida during an eight year tenure. I've lived continuously in Florida before, during, and since Jeb's governorship, and I cannot remember a single notable accomplishment that can be credited to this guy. Men like Reagan and Obama, love them or hate them, at least wanted to be president to do something; Jeb just wants to "be" the president.

Jeb won on the Bush name. That advantage is gone and is now a liability. He will get defeated because of the Bush name.

Jeb accomplished

the only thing that Jeb "accomplished" was getting his brother elected by rejecting 175,010 votes in FL while 680 of the late-arriving ballots which did not meet Florida's standards were still counted (and those favored Bush).

Unfortunately for JEB, his brother ruined the family name in politics. Maybe they could run for sewer commissioner somewhere and win, if unopposed, but I doubt they could win much else. Poppy Bush wasn't too bad as President but he just couldn't bail Dubya out like he could before and so Dubya gave the family a really bad name.

NOOOOOO please say it isn't so. West Virginia democrats must NOT throw a political newbie to the Republican wolves. Surely the Democratic party can find a real Democrat, one who represents the real working people in West Virginia, not smug the toadies of the alleged "Friends of Coal"

    Did you know?

    If every
home owner in the US sold their home and gave the Government the money it would
not pay off the national debt?

    We have been exposed
to some of the most powerful Propaganda
to control of the mind and opinion ever seen on earth.
This propaganda comes in many forms, misinformation, disinformation,
half-truths and deception. This propaganda comes through our mass media of
radio, Television, Internet and Print News.
Our Federal Government is a government of propaganda,
and it’s aimed is to gain supreme control of our nation and destroy the power
invested in WE THE PEOPLE which is guaranteed by our Constitution. Many people think this effort by the
Federal Government started with the Obama administration which is not true. He
is only one of many and is the end of a chain since the creation of our
Constitution. Our Constitution was and is intended to act as a check against
attempts by the executive branch to usurp power. Our Constitution is the longest-lasting standing written Constitution in the
world, however it was written in broad form and it allows our courts legislators and adversative’s to make interpretations that
are contrary to its original intent. It
is simple words that have guaranteed our rights and liberties.
    We often misuse or misinterpret
these words, to the point that we don't understand their meaning anymore. This
comes from the common occurrence of the political realm. Politicians love to
attach arbitrary meaning to words and spout them repeatedly until that their
meaning is accepted as definition. They've thrown the word
"Democracy" around so much that we actually believe in it. America
was not, and has never been founded on democracy. We now have a mission to
spread "Democracy" around the world at the point of a gun that we
don't even practice. We have a representative form of government which is a
    Republic.

    Our Constitution needs
to be ratified to clearly define for its original intent. Ratification of our
constitution cannot be performed by Washington. Keep in mind that their policies are much
harder to repeal than it was for them to implement. The two controlling
parties are two sides of the same coin. Both parties absolutely believe in an
enormous, all-powerful government and only disagree on how it should be
    implemented.
    The
federal government very rarely gives up the power that it has gained and more
often than not it tries to amplify its power to become the supreme ruler. Again
we must look at our Constitution. It very clearly and plainly gives most powers
to the individual states. Our Constitution was developed and approved by our
    first states of the union.

Again we must turn to the states for this
process as before. We must have a
constitutional convention by the states. Our Constitution is a dead document unless
the states expound and define its true intent which delegates responsibilities
and authority of both State and Federal Governments. Amendments become part of the Constitution as soon as it
is ratified by three-fourths of the States (38 of 50 States) this is set forth
in our Constitution. A number of delegates to this convention should be
appointed by the governor of each state. Each article should be reviewed and
amended for clarification and approved by ¾ of the states before moving to the
next. Great caution must be exercised by these delegates to insure the original
meaning and intent is preserved. Words are powerful and can be supportive to
clarify or destructive to distort. An example of this is the recent revision of
the Bible. Isaiah 7:14 says “the virgin shall be with child, and bear a son, and shall
name him Immanuel.” The 2011 revision
replaces virgin to “the young woman”. This completely nullifies that Christ was
born of a virgin. Their justification was that the original Hebrew word, almah, may, or may not,
    signify a virgin.

A reasonable time table should be set for finalizing this
process, bearing mind the urgent need for its completion. All amendments should
have a list of supporting documents (Statements made by the original framers
and the original delegates of the constitutional convention, Declarations of
    Independents and The
Bill of Rights. Since the President does not have a
constitutional role in the amendment process, the joint resolutions does not go
to the White House for signature or approval. To justify the urgent need for this
ratification or clarification of our Constitution, look at its one of the
biggest violation of many in our history that is destroying our country.

December 23, 1913, our congress gave
the bankers a Christmas gift of a life time. Congress passed the Federal
Reserve Act, which officially took the power to create the money from the
United States and turned it over to private Bankers, who called themselves the
Federal Reserve Corporation. Notice the word “Federal” used in
their name. Most American have believe that the
Federal Reserve is a government agency because the word “Federal” and this is
exactly what the Bankers wanted knowing the ignorance among the population.

    The banking and currency reform
plan approved by President Wilson in 1913 was sponsored by the chairmen of the
House and Senate Banking and Currency committees, Representative Carter Glass, a Democrat of Virginia and Senator
Robert Latham Owen, a Democrat of Oklahoma. After realizing the impact this bill would have
on the country President Wilson and lamented and wrote the following:

    “ I am a most
unhappy man. I have unwittingly ruined my country. A great industrial nation is
controlled by its system of credit. Our system of credit is concentrated. The
growth of the nation, therefore, and all our activities are in the hands of a
few men. We have come to be one of the worst ruled, one of the most completely
controlled and dominated Governments in the civilized world no longer a
Government by free opinion, no longer a Government by conviction and the vote
of the majority, but a Government by the opinion and duress of a small group of
dominant men”. What he is saying, I had no intentions to ruin our country, and
    I did it ignorantly.

The Constitution is precise in allowing the Federal
Government to print money and coinage. However it only allows the state coinage
of gold and silver. If the federal government could just print and
spend money it wanted to, our national debt would be zero. But instead,
our national debt is now nearly 16
trillion dollars. Under the Federal Reserve
System, the U.S. government has purposely allowed itself to be subjugated to a
financial system in which it will be constantly borrowing larger and larger
amounts of money. Since the Government cannot print money it must
borrow. To get the money it wants or needs, the U.S.
government creates a bunch of U.S. Treasury bonds (debt) and takes them to the
Federal Reserve. The Federal Reserve creates a billion dollars out of thin air
which is delivered to the Federal Government for the bonds. The government must
pay 5% interest on this debt. So where will the U.S. government get the money
to pay that debt? The government then tries to collect enough taxes to pay the
debt. But that never actually happens and the creators of the Federal Reserve
understood this as well. They understood that the U.S. government would
not have enough money to both run the government and service the national debt.
They knew that the U.S. government would have to keep borrowing even more
money. Our National Debt will never be paid under this system.

In closing this segment, I welcome your comments if they are
    constructive. Weblo65@hotmail.com

I know some will simply shrug
their shoulders and continue not caring. Hopefully some will have a lingering
desire to do whatever they can do to save America.
