Obama told the group: “"Because the usual idea is, well, this must just be a mechanism to try to win the next election in 2014. And what we've tried to explain to people is, is that, no, I actually just want to govern -- at least for a couple of years -- but I also want to make sure that the voices of ordinary people are heard in the debates that are going to be taking place.” More: “I've graduated. I've run my last campaign. But we’re not done with the work that led me to run in the first place.”
And: "If you have a senator or a congressman in a swing district who is prepared to take a tough vote -- or what they consider to be a tough vote -- on immigration reform, or legislation around background checks for guns, I want to make sure that they feel supported.”
Beth Reinhard: “Leaking political capital amid continued dysfunction in Washington, President Obama delivered a pep talk Wednesday to supporters of his new advocacy group trying to lift a gridlock-defying agenda of immigration reform, gun control and climate change.”
The L.A. Times: “President Obama met with more than a dozen corporate chief executives to seek their support for stalled cyber-security legislation amid increasing evidence that government agencies, businesses and individuals are vulnerable to computer network break-ins. The closed-door session Wednesday at the White House came a day after the nation's top intelligence officials warned in a Senate hearing that cyber attacks and digital spying have eclipsed terrorism as the top threat to national security.”
The New York Times: “The Justice Department’s independent inspector general on Tuesday portrayed its voting rights section as torn by ‘deep ideological polarization’ and ‘the harassment and marginalization of employees and managers’ by both liberal and conservative factions dating to the Bush administration and continuing into the Obama era.”
Ahead of Obama’s trip to Israel next week, Haaretz bills him as “The president who holds Israel's fate in the palm of his hand.”
So, Baghdad’s still not a safe place – 18 were killed in a “series of blasts.”

For AP to consider this Obama polticial machine 'grassroots"is beyond a joke.

In fact, it seems the DNC is no longer holding the leash, but is the one wearing the collar. Organizing for Action appears to be Organizing for Obama, and perhaps the DNC is now the ONC: the Obama National Committee.

What GOPers have stated that they want to take your SSI away? (I assume it's SSI)
The GOP won't put any specifics on the table regarding Medicare and Social Security cuts because they're afraid of the backlash from voters. They want the President to do it and give them political cover. What a bunch of spineless idiots. If they have such strong "convictions" they should stop being such cowards.
There have been many proposals over the years for SSI and Medicare reform.

It is fairly easy to do a web search on proposals that have been put forth to fix SSI and Medicare. There have been many over the years proposed by both parties. The problem is that both sides would rather slit their own throat than to work together to solve the problem. They keep their pathetic jobs by stirring the pot just to make it stink, and then blaming the opposition. And the mindless sheeple just keep following along.
It's called projection. They see in President Obama what they have been trying to do - use this issue to destroy him politically. I think Obama is just trying to get things done. Republicans have been playing political games with the recession/debt ceiling/sequester cuts all along.
Who is "US"? And, what color is the sky in your world? Obama is at the helm. This all his doing. The zero compromise president. All who oppose him ride in the back of the bus. Remember?
Stop the barnyard excrement Blamo-numbers. Most real Americans know that congress is the problem. The republicans are the ones that won't bend. Check out approval ratings. Obama 50% congress 18%. Hell there are republicans that don't approve of congress, there are 22% that identify with being a republican, that has shrunk by the way. It was about a third.
Are you right wonders really that stupid to believe the republican party doesn't want to end S.S. and Medicare. They have been trying to end the new deal since its inception. Take away from those that have the least to give to those that have the most. You right azzholes are the problem with this country. You are to dumb to vote. He still don't take it down. He as a matter of fact answers some questions periodically. So to say he don't hear us is not the truth, of course you haters will never accept the fact you have a black guy in the white house and you couldn't even with your lies make him a one term president. You failed.

Enough already! Just because someone doesn't agree with President Obama it doesn't make him a racist. I strongly disagreed with Bush. He and I are both white and neither of us are racists. Unless specific reference to President Obama's race is given I believe, perhaps comments motivated by race, we still can't accuse someone of being a racist.

I find that the people that play the race card usually have no facts or logic to back their point of view so they have to resort to claiming racism. All I have to do is read these posts to realize what is wrong in this Country. All of you would blindly follow your guy over a cliff before you admitted that they are all screwing us over. Nothing will ever change until we get rid of the career politicians from both side of the aisle. Some of them have been presiding over a declining America for generations. Nothing has improved in the last 30 years but you people think your guy's failed policies are the way to go. No matter which party is in charge they blame the other one for all the ills in this Country. Politician's are the only species that creates problems just so they can lobby against them and blame the other side. They are using their divide and conquer strategy and the majority of the people swallow it up like it's their last meal. Until we can have a conversation without the divisive rhetoric, nothing will ever change.
Fire them all I say and start over with regular people that aren't so entrenched in politics that something may actually get done.
