Congress: Embracing the “wacko bird” label

The New York Times: “The Senate Judiciary Committee on Tuesday passed two measures intended to curb gun violence, and the bills are now likely to go to the Senate floor for a full vote. But the committee postponed a vote on the most contentious measure — a proposal to reinstate an assault weapons ban — because its sponsor, Senator Dianne Feinstein of California, was not at the committee’s meeting.”

Ted Cruz embraced and hit back against John McCain’s characterization of him as a “wacko bird” in a speech yesterday: “It is wonderful to be among friends or, as some might say, fellow wacko birds. If standing for the Constitution, standing for liberty, standing for values makes one a wacko bird … then I am pleased that birds of a feather flock together.”

Rand Paul says get rid of “marriage” as a term altogether.

Well there are plenty wackos in the Republican controlled congress, including the Weeper of the House and in the Senate.

Austerity is the word most used by Republicans in today's Congress. Too bad the same cannot be said for the Republican Administration in 2003 when we were lied into Iraq. What would we as a nation do with $2 trillion today? Too bad we chose to waste it chasing clouds rather than spending on it America's needs - or not spending it at all.
