More and more I hear of companies hiring unnpaid interns, working 12-15 hours a day, with no compensation at all. These are usually recent graduates, with student loans who have no way to pay it down. Many young people reside at home and continue to need financial help from parents who have to delay or reduce their retirements. Companies of all sizes need to pay their workers. Young adults with advanced degrees should not be working for $0. I hear so much about companie sitting on the sidelines with alot of money to invest, they are abusing the system and taking advantage of our young and talented workforce.
Democrats in Congress hire unpaid interns...these positions are highly sought after..are they exploiting these young people?
The claim that private companies should hire more employees as a public service is typical of leftist zealots with no understanding of the free market system.
It wouldn't surprise me if Republicans in Congress tried to bring back indentured servitude. They are already in favor of establishing an underclass of workers from Mexico with no rights.
Obama should stop campaigning and do his job as president of the USA, we (America) bounce from crisis to crisis because there is no leader ship coming from the oval office. Obama plays the blame game as if he was local community organizer and not the supposed to be President.
So are we conclude from your statement that the recalcitrant Republicans in the House of Representative and the requirement that anything brought before the Senate needs 60 votes to even be debated has absolutely ZERO to do with bouncing from crisis to crisis?
Or are we to conclude that your definition of Leadership is when the Republicans propose something and the President agrees (capitulates)?
I think that all that can be concluded from your statement is that you did not vote for the President in '08 or '12 and you would not support anything he says or does because he is a Democrat first and foremost in your eyes.
BTW, if and when you respond to this kindly explain how the failure of republicans to back any proposal put forth by the President is a failure of leadership on his part? Ever heard the saying "You can lead a horse to water but you can't make it drink?" That explains the republican position since January 1, 2009.
Oh, lest we forget the infamous "Obstructionist Forum" attended by Republican Congressional Leaders on January 20, 2009 when they agreed to obstruct any and everything President Obama put forth; and he is the one you say is failing to lead?
"lest we forget the infamous "Obstructionist Forum" attended by Republican Congressional Leaders on January 20, 2009 when they agreed to obstruct any and everything President Obama put forth; and he is the one you say is failing to lead?"
That is a flat lie, there was no such agreement to oppose Obama. Republicans were elected to office to hold down spending and support freedom. It makes sense to vote against Obama's big spending failed liberal policies...
The Democrats opposed most everything George Bush proposed, and he didnt whine about it.
11 eagles,
How can anyone complain about the wonderful jobs policy from the $6T man? It takes great skill not to find solutions for the dismal record of his administration.
He can only blame Bush, the Republicans and Congress in general for so long before even the under informed Progressives finally get it.
Sounds like Obama has the same conditions the Pres. Bush had. I guess if he wants things done he has to learn to play nice. He got Obama care, increased taxes on the wealthy, he got his sequester. Sounds like the GOP has flexed. We still don't have cuts designed by the administration or a budget after 5 years. When can we see some of that flexibility from the left. Campaigning against congress, will never qualify as leadership, and should never motivate them to compromise. He is just not a classy guy. Always trying to divide and point anger somewhere else, when he should be accepting responsibility for his time at the helm. We are exactly where his style of leadership has taken us.
If Barack Obama isn't a classy guy, what do you call Republican leaders who risk a downgrade in our credit rating in order to protect tax loopholes for the uber rich? What do you call Republicans who risk slowing the recovery for the same noble goal?
Barrack isn't a classy guy Amy, he should be categorized as the $6T Man.
