The Boston Globe lead on the Romney interview: “‘It kills me’ to have lost to President Obama, former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney said Sunday as he acknowledged a series of missteps in his race for the White House, including a failure to reach out to minority voters and his off-the-cuff remarks widely perceived as denigrating less fortunate Americans.”
What Romney said: “I look at what's happening right now, I wish I were there. It kills me not to be there, not to be in the White House doing what needs to be done.”
And of his 47% remarks, Romney actually said this: “What I said is not what I believe.”
USA Today: “In a wide-ranging interview that aired Sunday on Fox News, Romney chided President Obama for his dealings with congressional Republicans and for "playing politics" with the automatic budget cuts known as the sequester.”
The New York Times: “The Las Vegas Sands Corporation, an international gambling empire controlled by the billionaire Sheldon G. Adelson, has informed the Securities and Exchange Commission that it likely violated a federal law against bribing foreign officials.” More: “The company’s activities in mainland China, including an attempt to set up a trade center in Beijing and create a sponsored basketball team, as well as tens of millions of dollars in payments the Sands made through a Chinese intermediary, had become a focus of the federal investigation, according to reporting by The New York Times and The Wall Street Journal in August.”
COLORADO: “Sen. Michael Bennet, D-Colo., on Friday endorsed his one-time primary opponent, former state House Speaker Andrew Romanoff, in his campaign for Colorado’s 6th District,” Roll Call writes.
KENTUCKY: National Journal has six signs Ashley Judd will run.
MASSACHUSETTS: Dan Winslow won the state GOP straw poll.
Meanwhile: “In a contentious meeting Friday, one of the state’s most politically powerful unions tried but failed to unite around a Democratic candidate for US Senate, dealing a blow to US Representative Stephen F. Lynch, a former ironworker and union leader.”
NEW YORK: “A ferry company will file suit against the Cuomo administration Monday, alleging it cut a ‘backroom’ deal to help the Maid of the Mist — the famous sightseeing boats at Niagara Falls — stay afloat,” The New York Daily News reports.
SOUTH CAROLINA: Political Wire: “Former South Carolina Gov. Mark Sanford (R) told New York magazine that he wanted his ex-wife, Jenny Sanford, to run his congressional campaign.”
VIRGINIA: National Journal wonders whether climate-change denier Ken Cucinelli (R) can win the governor’s race: “The Virginia governor’s race is the next front in the escalating war over global warming. The leading Republican candidate, state Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli, is an unapologetically partisan firebrand who has drawn the national spotlight for his crusade against the science of climate change.”

Really, then where are those tax forms? What do you plan on cutting? Vouchers for Social Security was a big hangup. Then there is the fact you are a vulture. Romney, it didn't kill you to lose, obviously you are still alive and talking. Life is good in America without a republican president.
Thank goodness Romney is not the president. He had absolutely no experience. Obama is trying but Republicans fight him on everything he tries to do for the american public. No this sequester is the greedy Republicans fault refusing to pay there fair share. Granted the wealthiest Americans got taxed a little more but the poor and middle class have been doing it forever.
Romney: "What I said is not what I believe."
Therein lies the problem, you were unable to be sincere and truthful, and the voters caught you out.
In that one sentence, you say exactly what we all knew.
You are incapable of truth.
Wow! Is Hillary going to have to whip his butt in '16
Remember Willard saying "I stand by what I said, whatever it was that I said"......
Obviously he had no idea what he was talking about, EVER!
that's right chilled, the irony is beyond description.
Having a bad morning folks? A little bummed about the sequester impasse?
Cheer up! Mitt Romney is not your President!
What do you believe anyway, Mr. Romney? And why do you constantly say things that you don't believe? See, that's the problem with you, Mr. Romney. You are a liar. There's no nice way to say that, and you admit it right here. The problem is that you are such a prolific liar than even when you admit to lying, that just sounds like another lie. The one inadvertently earnest moment of your campaign did a lot to doom it, Mr. Romney. You deserved to lose.
Sociopaths can't help it they lie. It is good that the sociopathic Mr. Romney is not living in the White House.
Romney's quote"
Romney and the tea people republicans honestly don't believe their lies are lies. Another of his famous quotes "I don't know what I said but what ever I said I stand behind it". Romney still doesn't get it, lies don't work outside the boardroom.
The main reason you lost Mr. Romney is most of America perceived you as a liar.
Who is Mitt Romney and is there any reason why I should pay attention to anything he has to say. Really, I'm having trouble placing the name. Oh I remember now, he is the answer to the trivia question, who LOST to President Obama in 2012.
Willard can now be placed in the "Binder Full of TeaPeople Losers"!.....
Mitt and Ann can be on the reality show "Dancing With The Horses".
But I thought his son said that he didn't really want to be president.
Mitt's first and biggest mistake was not running on his crowning achievement- Obamnycare. This was a republican idea, successfully implemented in Mass. The more Rebups trash it, people realize it's just trying to play politics. Everyone knows that using ER's as a free health care system is expensive and inefficient.
By running from his crowning achievement, he lost his biggest selling point. I believe he means well, just like W meant well. But good intentions and reality have to be reconciled. Raiding overfunded retirement accounts is a legal business model, but Bain has virtually no record of creating American jobs. Romney was the perfect example of why the TEA party happened. England offered a preferred tax rate to the East India company, a lower tax rate for imports and a higher rate for domestic companies. To this day, this problem still exists and Mitt was the poster child for preferential tax rates for the wealthy. To make 40 million virtually tax free and working people pay 15% SS and another 25% in federal taxes is simply to obvious to spin. He never got it.
Romney was so out of touch with America it was sad. His family left America to have multiple wives, then got to jump in front of the line to get citizenship. Mitt, like Rubio, railed against the safety nets that they not only benefitted from, but do not add to the deficit. Yet he was all in on Iraq, trillions down the drain. His run was a perfect storm of republican hypocrisy- no military service. He was the ultimate taker, he wasn't a maker. Thank God he isn't president.
Thank the Good Lord that Romney didn't make it into office...Because, among other various obvious reasons, rest assured, it would be the Mormon church running the Country in the long run.
ANyone notice how Ann Romney cant GET OVER IT? Jeez...she blamed eveything except her loser husband and saying things 'he doesnt really believe'.
Eatt sh%$ Ann, Your just as much a loser as your husband 'Willard Wafflehouse'
I suppose it could be arranged.
