Obama agenda: To Israel, with love

“When President Obama makes his first official trip to Israel in three weeks, he should expect both a welcome and a warning,” USA Today writes of an interview with the Israeli ambassador to the U.S. "We're delighted that he's coming now," Michael Oren said, adding, "Keep in mind that President Bush didn't come until the last six months of his second term," the ambassador said. "President Reagan didn't come at all."

He also said sanctions can work but: “I think there's time, but there's not much time. There's a window for diplomacy, but the window is closing. … We know that given the centrifuges that they have now, they will pass a red line. That's the point where we will no longer be able to prevent them from making a nuclear weapon, and that line is coming up in the summer. If they install the next generation of centrifuges — and they're installing them right now — (and) if those centrifuges begin to spin, then the time will be even shorter."

USA Today raises the curtain on gun makers.

“John F. Kerry has done town hall meetings in Manchester, N.H. He’s fielded questions about corn subsidies from voters in Des Moines, and stumped in cities across Massachusetts,” the Boston Globe writes. “But on Tuesday, the new secretary of state brought those political skills to Germany, holding a town hall meeting here with students in the foreign country where Kerry himself spent time as a child. He cracked jokes, often at his own expense. It was, as he made clear on this third day of a whirlwind tour of European and Middle Eastern capitals, an emotional journey. Kerry had returned to a city he knows well. Everywhere he stopped on Tuesday – the US embassy, the town hall, and meetings with German leaders – Kerry mentioned his personal connections to the city. He told tales of his boyhood in the city in the 1950s, when his father was a foreign service officer advising US officials about a variety of legal actions.”

It appears that you are taking your polls in Hollywood again! In middle America, where people
actually work and have jobs - Republicans are not in trouble - the liberal Democrats are. we are
all sick of supporting everyone that doesn't want to work because the democrats think they need to
help everyone who chooses not to help themselves.

The same polls taken in "Hollywood" that accurately predicted the last election. The fact that Michelle Bachmann barely won her solidly Republican district should tell you that the wacky wing of the Republican party is in serious trouble even among your neighbors. The Democrats got the majority of the vote for President and the majority of the vote for the House because they have the majority support of the country. Stop questioning the polls and start questioning your disassociation from the rest of America.

We have a homeless problem in Portland that is in my face every day, as I walk to and from work. Even in a snowstorm these sketchy men are asking me for money, money I can't afford to give, as I struggle to pay my own bills. I'm talking, three or four times during my walk, I am approached by pan handlers, men who are stronger, and younger than me, asking me to support them. They also scare away the tourists, which in Maine, is not good!

So, I get the impulse to say, I don't want my tax dollars being given to people who don't contribute to our communities. However, I can see the people who are really working to get these worthless bums off our streets, who are actually making a dent in the problem, are Democrats, not Republicans. Our Tea Party governor said "get a job!"in his state of the state speech, addressing people who get welfare. But, he has done nothing to improve employment, in fact, cuts to education are costing us teaching jobs, and the sequester cuts Republicans support will impact nearly 7,000 Navy people in Maine. This is why I think Democrats have a better handle on managing the economy.

I know people in Hollywood that have nothing to do with the movie making industry. Of course you know that many in the industry ARE conserviatives. The late John Wayne would be a good example. Ronald Reagan was from that area and he was hardly a liberal. Who could forget old "empty chair" Eastwood, while not a resident of Hollywood, certainly would be a part of the business of Hollywood.

When people whine about the polls it is generally because the polls, no matter who takes them or how accurate they are, will be seen as flawed in some way. The wrong people were polled or there was a slant to the questions that favored the other side. If those same questions were skewed to their side than they would be okay, of course. If the polls said what they want than they are the truest and most accurate of polls.

I don't make much of polls. I take them as one of many indicators regarding how things are going.

Hollywood was Sue's term, not mine -- which is the reason I put it in quotes. I have no idea how she defines Hollywood.

I put little faith in issue polls because the framing of the issue matters. I place significant trust in the consensus of horse race polls because they generally are accurate within the margin of error as proven by election results.

Good! We need positive relations with Germany. One thing I really like about the Obama administration is how they have improved our relations with the rest of the world.

Poor Sue has lost her faith in the poll co-sponser Wall Street Journal (a left-wing biased rag if there ever was one (snark)) for telling her what she does not want to hear. Perhaps Sue and her neighbors feel differently up there in Dogpatch, but the rest of the country has spoken.

The treachery of the jews knows no bounds. The vile zionist dogs will someday pay for their crimes. They will be erased from history like a pox on humanity.
