All that damn cryin' and moanin' and grownin' and in the end still can't do crap about it. You know that reality just has to put some major skid marks in the undergarments of all you GOP Senators "who take this constitutional responsibility very seriously" (said in deeper voice coupled with a stern look on my face).

I think they should perform the same type of public hearing each time a new Senate member is slated to join a given Committee. I think such an experience might make a few more Senators realize their sh*t does have some stank to it.

Resistance is futile... Especially when you do it for so long and so consistently that any "action" you take afterward will only be percieved as grudging acquiescence... Not exactly a hero's death.

This is both individual and cumulative among the right wing.

What's funny is that McCain, Graham, etc., made utter fools of themselves and never laid a glove on Hagel. Again they don't have a clue!

Going Frist, is to be ridiculed. thSecond, is to be violently opposed. Thrid, is to be accepted as being self-evident.

I'm sure glad everyone has learned to spell Frist, learned that word myself, from a Detroit Free Press forum. There is more to the story, but I ain't telling.

Like the first vulture said to the second vulture patience hell, lets kill something.

The republican house and those in the Senate that make up a super majority won't be if they are wrong and drive our and the world economy into the dumpster, just like W. they will get the blame and for the rightys that deny W.s birth, the economy that we are living today is the same one you will create with your stubbornness not to tax the very rich by closing loop holes they should have never got in the first place. The republicans here that say there is no consequence to cutting your own throat will find out in 14, thats my prediction and I am willing to put us a large sum of cash to bet on it. Its about time you paid for supply side economics that has caused this nation to be so divided in so many ways. That social experiment has failed.

I think Senators McCain, Graham, Cruz, Inhofe and a few others should be required to stand and apologize to former Senator Chuck Hagel because: 1) he had nothing to do with Benghazi; 2) the GOPers attacked him over ties to a non-existent Friends of Hamas group; 3) the Iraq war is over and Bush left office in disgrace; 4) the GOPers behaved like ranting, angry, slanderous fools.

And 5) the holier than thou GOP Senators should ask Rand Paul why he told Wolfe Blitzer that all funding to Israel should be eliminated along with all other foreign aid. Inquiring minds would like to know why it is fine for Sen Paul to diss Israel.

Darn, I wasn't frist either! Come on Piggy, stop hogging the Frist spot.

Republican senators didn't do themselves any favors smearing Chuck Hagel. There really should be a book: All You Need To Be A Senator, You Learned in Kindergarten

The history books will look back at the confirmation of Secretary Hagel and ask two questions:

1. What were the Republicans trying to accomplish?

2. What did the Republicans actually accomplish?

the most fascinating thing about the hagel nomination is the concession by obama and the left that there are no democrats capable of running the defense department.

Is it that President Obama couldn't find a capable Democrat or is it that he found capable Democrats but found Mr. Hagel to be a better choice for the job?

King Obozo has decided not to add anybody smarter than him.

ricardo -- it tells me nothing about hagel.

seeking -- thanks for playing, you are so predictable, insults first, then name calling followed by absolutely no contribution to the dialog.

Now that all the game playing, posturing, and grandstanding for the CSPAN audience is done we can get on with the inevitable. Neither Obama nor Hagel was embarrassed by the ordeal but the Republicans, particularly McCain, Graham and Ayote should be. What a waste of time when they could have been working on the deficit, job creation and things far more important than trying to play gotcha.
