With just two weeks to go until dramatic spending cuts to domestic programs and defense go into effect because of the so-called sequester, NBC's Mark Murray and Domenico Montanaro analyze where it goes from here. The president is trying to use the bully pulpit to curry support for his side, but congressional Republicans are pointing the finger back at him. Plus, Marco Rubio vs. the White House on immigration. This doesn't mean the end for immigration reform. In fact, it likely means the opposite.

Poor Marco, the water-boy for the GNOP!
Mr. BIG Gulp had his little fee-fee's hurt this weekend, by that mean old President Obama's immigration policy... lol
The faster the saviors of the right wing climb, the harder they fall!
Lil Marco....The GOP Savior!
He really believes he is.........Good Luck with that Lil Marco!
Feisty Redhead Roselle, IL
Poor Marco, the water-boy for the GNOP!
Mr. BIG Gulp
Feisty; LOL
Senor, bottle holder is not a good prop according to the Spanish community! He is a against Obamacare; just to name one thing.

Then there is voter suppression which little Marky supports.
Typical, you libs are nervous about this guy aren't you? You should be losers!
About as nervous as I was of Bobby Bo Jindle, Nicky Haley, Michael Steele and any other person of color who they hang their hopes on! lmao
ozzieyo . . .
You're kidding right? His rebuttal speech was nothing more than a re-mix of every talking point Mittens had. Nothing new and as usual for the GOP, full of lies.
http://www.politico.com/story/2013/02/marco-rubio-response-fact-check-87565.html
I just love the tone of their posts... ALWAYS condescending and snarky... they think they are being cute when in reality they are being asses.
No wonder this site never has any REAL discussions of anything that is relevant... who would want to discuss anything with someone displaying such a bad attitude.
No, these libbies, they don't want to discuss anything. All they want to do is hide behind their monitors and take verbal pokes at anyone that disagrees with them.
Lil Marco left out the 'corporations are people'.....but kinda elevated 'middle/working class' to a $675K house!
Out of touch, much!
I think reaching for a water bottle is perfectly OK. Not a big deal, or shouldn't be. But the look on his face like he was trying to get away with stealing something said it all. Rubio is another republican not to be trusted with the nations well being.
Maybe Marco and Dr. Carson could duke it out for the republican nomination both would scare the living beegeezus out of you guy's. CAN'T WAIT!
The flop sweat did nothing for his image either! lol
Strange, you said the same thing about Bachmann, Gingrich, Cain, Perry and the rest of the insane clown posse in 08! lol
How did that work out for you again?
All of those you mentioned would have been 10 times better than our current President/Community Organizer.
Sit back and have another helping of sour grapes!
What's funny is Rubio declaring President Obama's immigration plan D.O.A., yet it nearly mirrors Rubio's plan and that of the other 7 senators. Do republicans not yet realize that through the magic of the internet, we citizens can discover the facts while ignoring the loud-whining noises so often coming from GOPers like Rubio?
Hey, SickO'...FYI, ozzieyo is no liberal. You're complaining about one of your own.
And please quit calling the kettle black.
On another topic, did anyone see Rachel Maddow's show last night? "Hubris"...it was fabulous.
Benghazi Gate is a diversion tactic for the GOPers, for sure.
P.S. Feisty, I love your 'Marco Rubio, Water Boy for the GOP!! I'll just refer to him as The Water Boy from now on.
Johntho
Johntho, Rubio has had some practice in stealing. Rubio has stolen from his campaign
Rubio and Rivera: Birds of a Feather
The pattern of financial manipulation is shockingly similar to that of Rivera's longtime pal and former roommate U.S. Senator Marco Rubio who famously abused the Republican Party of Florida's credit cards for his personal use.
Congressman Rivera double-billed taxpayers of Florida for travel expenses
Congressman Rivera used an un-regulated slush fund so he could "live off campaign contributions for almost a decade" -- enjoying a lavish lifestyle despite never earning more than $28,000 a year
Rivera and Rubio owned a house together — which they failed to make payments on.

Oh, ozzie, ozzie, it isn't a matter of being afraid of Rubio, it is merely the idea that the GOP thinks he's the second coming; the one who will save their party because he's Cuban, not because he has great ideas but because they're hoping to get the Latino vote. Rubio repeated the same tired, worn out ideas of Reagan during his rebuttal; nothing new. I just think it is a shame that the GOP is pushing Rubio, who probably does have potential for 2020 or 2024, to the front of the line too soon and will ultimately end up tarnishing him.
kaybeetoys
No... stupid... I am not. I am backing up his comment by quoting what he said about another comment from the fisty one...
What was it that commercial said... 'A mind is a terrible thing to waste!'
how apropos
BTW... if you recall, the waterboy kicked-arse and took names...
again, how apropos!
I say bring it on - the water boy that thinks the earth might be around 6000 years old vs. the God gave us a flat tax in the form of a 10% tithe guy. May the best Son of God sinner win.
Good point and after this term is over and the American people come out of their stupor the left will be saying
"We suck again!"
Jody, Your concern is touching but why not worry about finding your next sugar daddy (or women) to run for your ticket and let the adults on the right worry about ideas and what has merit and what doesn't. We all know the left could care less about the substance of an idea and everything about what's in it for them.

=============
Jody might be able to do that if and when one those "adults on the right" finally emerged to say/do something worth remembering.
"We all know the left could care less about the substance of an idea and everything about what's in it for them".....and I'm supposed to believe you were able to type that with a straight face?
As I recall, he kicked his own arse but good with his sneaky big gulp, which will be remembered looooong after his lame-o speech.
Wait and see how far The Water Boy goes in his political career. SickO, I think you're going to need some salt when you have to eat your words.
BTW, I'm not a member of The Stupid Party. You?
Let's give Rubio his 15 minutes ... he will eventually be caught in the same room as Obama and our enlightened pals will toss him under the clown car and put Cruz in the driver's seat for a couple of miles.
Dr. Carson best stick with what he was educated to do........but, he looked really weird in the clip that I saw of him....veiled eye lids......
Yeah Redev it would suck to have to pay your own share wouldn't it?
Hey, I'm all for a flat tax, as long as goods and services are also priced accordingly. Utilities, 1% of your income, food .5% of your income, housing 5% of your income, taxes 10% of your income. That way, everyone pays their fair share in taxes, goods, and services.
Wow, Redev with your plan I'd need a latern, garden and tent to survive.
So I guess the republican party clinging to the Cuban leg of little Ricky Ricardo is going to thrill someone besides themselves... Because even if they're 100% thrilled (and I don't think little Ricky's leg can even support that) they'll just be the same minority having a little tea-party trying to expand their ranks.
What they don't seem to fully realize is that Senor Ricardo's leg will not produce offspring... And even if it did, they'd probably vote against them 18 years later as second-generation immigrants.
The racism against latins is amazing. You libs are something
The good - Mark and his partner in crime Domenico say in the video that despite Senator Rubio thumbing his nose at the President, immigration reform will happen.
The bad - Not a good move Sen. Rubio. Perhaps for your base it is, but the country wants it done without your foolish immature gutless stance.
The ugly - We will remember this.
Mike Allen of Politico is having a rough day today.
Just sayin'.
Hilarious stuff out there on Politico patting themselves on the back because of their so-called "tough" questions which evidently scare President Obama.
You can tell a republican a million miles away these days. These are the people Rubio wants to please. LoL.
Pardon me. It's not "Sen. Rubio".
It's "The Savior".
There, that's better.
I didn't mean for this to be an all Al Pacino all the time thread, but I can't get up top because of gremlins.
Beverly if you read this, great find on The Savior of the GOP!
When will the President get behind his promised initiative to balance the budget of 4 years ago? I guess Obama feels only some of his promises are important (like the promises that aren't important to most "legal Americans").
The Water Boy for the TeaPeople/GOP will soon outlive his usefulness and be tossed on the garbage heap of failed TeaPeople messengers.
He is proving to be the sacrificial one.......
Who will be next?
I'd like to nominate Ted Cruz.
Can't be, they won't waste running Hispanic saviors back to back! lol
I think they'll find a woman to throw under the clown car this time around and save Cruz for a *ace* in the hole at a later date!
Ah yes, Rafael Edward Cruz......
Someone must have gotten to him, haven't seen or heard from him in a few days. Can't wait until someone, anyone, checks into his wife Heidi and her position in the SW Region, Investment Management Division of Goldman, Sachs.........
Cruise Control!
That makes sense, Feisty. Do you think they have enough brains to figure that out? ;)
Never gonna happen, Kaybee! lol
I'm a "buy local" kind of Democrat. Obama is wrong wanting to import foreign engineers and entrepreneurs to come into America to take American jobs. It's nothing less than outsourcing right here on American soil. There are 2.4 million American engineers currently unemployed in our country. Obama needs to get every last American engineer back working before he even thinks about replacing them with cheaper foreign workers.
Listen to Obama, he tells us what he is doing and we sometimes seem deaf, we need to say no when Obama is out of line. We are, after all, Democrats. This is our America and we need to keep it our America.
obama owns the sequester......any astute follower knows this
was rubio fan..not so much now...can't go with blanket amnesty..
why aren't the greenies upset about the added strain on an already diminishing water and resourch supply...and with global climate change, our country will be more of a cess pool.
have you been to cal lately?
come on greenies, what about that?
RP lotsofnumbers posts:
How can you be astute and say such stuff.......Boehner said he got 98% of what he wanted "I'm pretty happy".......Boehner and the TeaPeople own 98% of the "Budget Control Act" (sequester)!
So President Obama only owns the remaining 2%!
How astute are ya'?
Obama only "owns" the sequester in the sense that he has out-maneuvered the GOP into it. They fell willingly into that trap because they were so sure Romney would win and they'd never have to deal with it again.
The GOPers play checkers, while our President plays chess.
They're not called The Stupid Party for nothing.
Greenies are on top of it. Didn't you hear about the march on Washington last weekend?
...since when is a few dozen people walking around DC considered a 'march'?
Greetings, Comrade. Is this enough people for you to call it a march?
How many in a dozen?... About 17,500?... I'm ordering donuts for EVERYONE!!!
In a related story: Two Brazilian men were killed in a vehicle crash... Sarah Palin was absolutely inconsolable... When asked why this affected her so greatly she replied through her tears... Oh my God it's horrible!!... How many is there in a brazilian???
...hmmm....
...less than 1/10 th of a percent of the US population...
...people from more than 30 states showed up...
...probably either drove there or flew...
...and how much garbage did they generate in DC?
....bet the carbon footprint that event create made even Sasquatch jealous.

I wish! If President Obama "owned" it we'd be well on our way to Recovery!
It's Republicans that are overloaded with so many ulterior motives they can't get a darn bit of work done.
So, when will you greenies be upset about the carbon footprint of all the illegals?
If we have an air quality problem, and a water shortage problem, how will 20,000,000 more people help?
You people are pathetic.
What's a greenie? Irish?
An ignorant liberal, that's a greenie
Obama should have thought about sequestration when he designed it. Now it stares him in the face and all he wants to do is play the blame game and kick the can down the road. Obama knows he can't hide from the fact it will cost the middle-class and he can't spin this issue forever. With Obama's "4 year" promise we are still waiting for those good middle-class jobs. Don't just talk about it Mr. President, do something about creating private sector jobs not just more government jobs.
Dr, everybody owns it, hows that? So what now? Don't gloss over the fact that congress signed on, even Ryan said "sequester" wasn't supposed to happen. Keep pushing the President owns it, doesn't matter in the scheme of things now does it, usual right wing mantra baloney--nothing constructive but plenty of rhetoric.
dr821,
We have added 532,000 private manufacturing jobs since 2010, which just begins to reverse the decline in manufacturing jobs over the previous decade.
There are 607,000 fewer people working in public sector jobs then there were when President Obama took office.
So why are you claiming something that isn't supported by facts?
Amy - We have lost 650,000 private manufacturing since 2009 (Prez-0's first year in office) - this is a net loss of -120,000 manufacturing jobs.
It's easy to pick & choose data, but let's keep it real, like the honest total number of jobs loses since Prez-0 took office (including the millions of people who have been unemployed for over 2 years & have given up looking for a job [See U6 unemployment numbers})
Rubio, second generation and Grandpa was an "illegal," what does he know about immigration? A big time fiffer and iffy ethics. GOP better take a good close look at the demographics regarding Hispanics--Cubans per se are not favored among other groups, as a matter of fact, actively disliked. Rubio no "rescuer" for the Party of No, considered a bit of a weasel here in Florida. Too bad we are stuck with him until 2016, well then he can find himself another day job.
All the Rubio fans, tell me why this man voted no for VAWA--a no brainer, he along with 5 other republicans including the fly in the ointment Cruz--how does one advocate domestic violence--male and female?
Hispanics know that President Obama cares a lot more about what happens to them that Rubio ever will. Rubio as the GOP pretty boy will not get them more Hispanic votes than Donald Trump would.
Rubio,is one little sp1c in a sinking boat,,nomworriesmtjere,,,loser
Hillary 2016
Ya dangerfield, can't believe obama did it.
We actually have an opposition who, in listening to the possible consequences of the upcoming sequester, decided that even if it was going to hurt everyone, if it helped their cause POLITICALLY, our military and citizens be damned and if it knocked us into another recession, well they could blame it on the administration because the sequester was "Their idea"
To position our nation for an economic downfall to score political points is despicable and foolishly transparent...
That is one of the most asinine posts to leave your keyboard ! Sequestration was passed by the Republican House, the Democratic Senate and signed by the Democratic President ... who came up with the idea to start with !!
The sequestration will result in a net 2.0% to 2.5% reduction in our expenses ... nut draconian and almost insignificant to the overall picture of spending which has increased under Obama !!
Then, YOU, dangerfield, try to put it back on the Republicans and suggest they are merely trying to score political points !!! It is not going to hurt everyone, but maybe it will send a message that our country cannot indefinitely continue to spend $1 trillion +++ beyond it's annual revenues !!!!
Continuing to spend money we don't have and have to borrow hurts EVERYONE, especially our kids in the future.
How will 20,000,000 more people...1/2 with dirty diapers and some with drug and achohol problems help our country?
Come on twit libs...explain how that is good for our country...
CBO reports that the federal government wastes 125 billion a year. Problem solved Obama, cut the waste if you can find the time between your golf outings.
Never heard so many racists libs on one thread...oh, yes I have...sorry.
