At least four members of Congress already in seats for State of the Union

If members of Congress want to be there to greet President Obama as he walks down the aisle of the House chamber for his State of the Union address tonight, they're going to have to save their seats now.

There are currently four members holding their aisle seats for the State of the Union address later today, more than nine hours before the speech is scheduled to take place.

Those members (at the moment): Reps. Al Green (D-TX), Sanford Bishop (D-GA), Sheila Jackson Lee (D-TX), and Barbara Lee (D-CA).

But while Rep. Eliot Engel (D-NY) said on MSNBC Tuesday that members can just leave items in a chair and claim it later, according to a note sent to members from the speaker's office this morning, if a member wants the seat, they have to stay in it the entire time.

"Members are requested to be on the floor and seated no later than 8:25 p.m.," a note from the speaker's office to members read. "As has been the practice in the past, Members will not be allowed to reserve seats prior to the joint session by placement of placards or personal items. Chamber Security may remove these items from the seats. Members may reserve their seats only by physical presence following the security sweep of the Chamber."

There are a number of seats that currently have bags and coats on them in an effort to save them for the address later. It's unclear if Chamber Security will, in fact, enforce this policy.

Shoot...maybe the Speaker should just send the same note over to the Senate and maybe that will be enough to spark the need to be physically present on the Floor to filibuster?

ALL four are PROGRESSIVES (Liberals~Democrats) who have NOTHING better to do.

They MUST be up for re-election soon and want to get their 10 seconds of fame, just like some of the Progressive posters.

If that Old Lady lives long enough, she'll probably be sounding like this Police Sergeant:

Three years after the White House arranged a hero's welcome at the State of the Union address for the Fort Hood police sergeant and her partner who stopped the deadly shooting there, Kimberly Munley says President Obama broke the promise he made to her that the victims would be well taken care of.

"Betrayed is a good word," former Sgt. Munley told ABC News in a tearful interview to be broadcast tonight on "World News with Diane Sawyer" and "Nightline."

Pete. Since 2000, all the elections have been contests between Dumb and Dumber...regardless of GOP or DNC affiliation. Bush was goofy on many levels. Al Gore was and still is a dingbat..albeit a rich one after selling out to the MidEast. John Kerry was ok smart, married well, but was too aloof to lead us commoners. John McCain....no words can explain his candidacy. Finally, Obama, though book smart, is just simply too inept and inexperienced to be president on most levels, if not more, than Bush, Gore, Kerry, or McCain. In hindsight, neither Bush or Obama has been the right leader for our times and issues. I find it hard to believe that out of 300 million people in the most educated, advanced and prosperous nation there has ever been on earth, that we can't find a truly suitable President.

How many seats are there along the aisle where the President enters the House Chamber? These people occupy 4 of them, just four that's all. Maybe there should be a lottery system where each member draws a number corresponding to a seat and that is where they sit. That said, since most of the work in Congressional offices is done by aides the Reps probably have time and proper communication to handle what they need to do.

The last thing this government needs is another system they can corrupt. LOL.

They should have to pay a premium for those seats. Put the money into the general coffers.

There are also going to be 'special' seats set up front for the GOP/RNC "Hoodlum's On The Hill." The GOP/Teabeggers will need to watched very carefully during the State Of The Union. The GOP/Teabeggers like to exchange text messages when they should be paying attention. The Teabeggers also like to hang out with paranoids with guns, and they need to be checked at the door. Teddy Nugget will be there tonight looking Cognitively DIsabled, Behaviorally Disturbed, and very angry. It will be a very interesting time in Congress tonight.

Is Michelle still breast feeding Chris Rock?

You look at the four nitwits that have claimed seats and it is easy to understand. Shirley Jackson Lee.. now there is a woman running around with out brains but as along as she is black I guess it doesn't matter. Maybe she will make a statement tonight about how North and South Vietnam live in harmony after we won the war.

For those that want to watch this farce, I say, no need. Just go read the "Communist Manifesto" and the "Rules for Radicals". You will get all of the info there that you will need to understand the Democrat party. No sense in listening to Obama say the same thing.
