Subscribe to RSSPresident Obama will visit Israel, the West Bank, and Jordan this spring, the White House announced Tuesday.
It will be his first trip to Israel as president. Republicans have been hotly critical of Obama for not having visited before now.
The planned trip came after a Jan. 28 talk with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, the White House said.
"The start of the president's second term and the formation of a new Israeli government offer the opportunity to reaffirm the deep and enduring bonds between the United States and Israel and to discuss the way forward on a broad range of issues of mutual concern, including Iran and Syria," National Security Council spokesman Tommy Vietor said in a statement.
Obama did travel to Israel as a senator in July of 2008 during his run for president.

That Yayhoo Netanyahu is a war monger if there ever was one. Certainly we have been supporting Israel as we should but Obama has refused to kiss Israeli tukas. That is the right thing to do. We need to support Israel when she does the right things but admonish her when she does wrong.
If I were Obama I would demand that Israel leave the West Bank and Gaza and let the Palestinians have their country back. Build kibbutz in Israel not Palestine.
I would also reassure Israel we have her back if Iran attacks but that Israel should not be the agressor. We are having enough trouble paying for our own unnecessary wars without paying for theirs too.
While in the region he needs to sit down with the Palestinian Authority and make it clear that Hezbollah will not be tolerated but that if they are peaceful and allow Israel to exist in peace that we will also help them.

There was an important piece of information that was removed from this article on Obama's planned visit to Israel this year. What the article left out is that Obama will be a passenger on an Iranian jet bomber on it's way to drop nuclear weapons on Israel. And Hagel will be joining him.

Why can't the White House keep information to themselves? Why does the News have to publish it. During WWII leaking information was considered Treasonous. Easily...once a large aircraft slows down in a landing pattern all maneuverability is lost...about 50 - 100 small missiles fired simultaneously will overload any defense system...no one believed a civilian aircraft could attack the Pentagon...
