Secret Service director to step down, announce retirement

Mark Sullivan, the director of the Secret Service, plans to step down and announce his retirement Friday after 30 years with the agency, administration sources say.

Sullivan has served as director since 2006 during the Bush administration. The agency found itself in the middle of a controversy after a prostitution scandal during President Obama's trip to Colombia in April 2012.

Wisconsin Republican Sen. Ron Johnson accused Sullivan of misleading Congress during a testimony in May of last year about the scandal, something other senators called "unfair."

There have been quite a few problems with the Secret Service during his tenure. There has been a news analysis that a clique within the agency has been the source . Perhaps, it was time for a change and a house cleaning.

My theory is that he just couldn't live with the guilt of trying to keep Obama alive.

I think the Obama team "Set him up" so Obama can try and set up things for his OWN PRIVATE Security squad..Maybe armed with all those thousands of Automatic Rifles and millions of rounds of Ammunition Homeland Security is buying,,and nobody is giving a straight answer about who those Arms are for...Something is Rotten in Washington, err, the White House....too many Rats jumping ship, they don't want any part of what Obama has got planned...So it cannot be good at all..And then working so hard to Disarm the People leaving them wide open for the Black Criminal Gangs in all the Demoncrat Controlled City States about the land...Something very evil is going on..and nobody is talking..You laugh at Conspiracy's well, the Government is making sure you think that Conspiracies are silly and for a reason....The sheep and Lemmings believe them..You had better not...be Smart...

A man can only take so much. Having to take orders from the POS in office now would present a stressful and hostile environment from the git-go. When you are ordered on what to say, and what NOT to say, will definately take a toll. I would imagine there ids quite the turnover in this service. This is Odumbs**ts guns and they are leaving him. Find another one that will kiss your ass.

And members of Congress have been misleading the American People for how long?!

Thoughtful WI citizens are totally embarrassed by the juvenile antics of Ron Johnson. Only Joe McCarthy at his worst held a candle to this "light weight" so-called businessman promoted and elected by the tea party nit wits. Hopefully Sen. Russ Feingold will come back in '16 and remove this stain from our State.

Amen to that. If we can find someone without promoting prostitution, which is one of the oldest crimes/sins since biblical time, such as Abraham in the book of Genesis, then the agents would be cleaner and less germs.

Considering how divided our political views are in this country I would say that this guy must have been good to have kept all those presidents alive. I hope he enjoys a well-earned retirement.

Is thee anyone stupider than Warren out there. Quick to critize, but very, very short on actual knowledge and understanding of government pensions. Civil Service employees pay 7% of their salaries into their retirement fund. Now stupid, aka Warren, how much do you pay into any retirement system? But we must bear the cross of the tea party and their adherants, stupid though they may be. So stupid, aka Warren, the next time you consider opening your mouth, think if you can, about what you are going to say. As for all of you other government haters, stay of our Federal highways, don't fly, the air is controlled by the Federal government, don't spend the summers at our national parks, don't use drugs which are monitored by the FDA, don't listen to the weather reports from NOAA. I guess by now even idiots like you Warren get my drift.

Ok folks, get back on topic. I see that it is really easy to blame....how about you all walk a mile in their shoes? Are you Christians, as everyone claims to be these days. Do you deal with the difficult decisions, the difficulty of watching our President on a daily basis. I guess we expect these people to be more than human, and you know, for the most part they are. But when they slip, it is somehow worse than when you or I screw up. When they slip, it is some kind of conspiracy, or a deep seated issue. Get over yourselves. You are not there. Suppose those guys just wanted to get laid and they made the wrong decisions. You haven't made a bad decision? In their case, its a darn big deal, and they should have been more careful. But you know, we all lose it. Good luck in your lives, folks. Understand that no one gets out of life free.

Will the new replacement head allow for secret pimping of hookers through for the nights?

How is that handle nowadays? For example, secret service provides bodyguard protection 24hrs and paid for by government. It is a true issue and nature of job. Let's go public with the job's requirement and how real life issue effect duty and honor of duty. It's secret service and not the FBI.

@Gary K. Why are you so behind the times now Gary? The last talking points said to call him a Muslim. Gee you puke bags need to get your name calling straight, otherwise you really are acting like you look. That's the south end of a mule going north, to be polite about it.

Senator Johnson has made a career out of getting his panties in a bunch over nothing ... the other day, he accused Mickey D. Mouse of "misleading" Americans about Disneyland.

I was tortured for almost 3 years by the FBI and their friends onlybecause 85 years old man, Roland H Sibens(chicago), now he is 88 convinced them that Iam a terrorist. I was tortured for working on my prosthetic legs inthe basement. I done absolutely nothing illegal or wrong. They thoughtthat in theory it is possible to hide bomb in them. They saw anopportunity to get famous, so they were trying to torture me till Isign their insane story. They tortured me using more than 100different torturing methods and trust to me waterboarding is not howthey torture nowadays. I dont know where to find justice.
I think that after 9/11 things got out of control. Freedom fightersbecame tyrants. In 1945, most Germans had an opportunity to learn about Nazis deathcamps. I hope that one day American citizens will get chance to learn about peoplelike me, who were tortured with no reason for years.
