Hagel will survive and John McCain's biographers will wallow in WTF as a possible title.
McCain wants Hagel and everyone to say … you were right …
you would have been the best CIC … ever!
McNasty's demand for a yes or no answer was equivalent to asking if he had stopped beating your wife!
If Hagel answered yes - he would be admitting he was guilty of it at one time.
If Hagel answered no - he would be admitting he continues to smack her around!
It was a no win situation!

Hopefully. If the GOP would quit acting so Pro War, they might stand a chance in 2014/2016. Apparently they have not been made privy to the information regarding the fact that THE AMERICAN POPULATION IS SICK OF WAR!!
I think there is more to it then that. While Americans are sick of war, they are also tired of being called takers and such. The republicans have a bad image problem now with a majority of the American people. The tea party with their known talking points and lies are not helping anymore either.
Hagel showed today that he is a combat veteran acting cool under fire. He also quickly realized that these Teabeggers are just plain nuts. The way Hagel looked at the Teabeggers was with the clear understanding that "insane McCain" has lost his mind, and is very 'vengful.' The Teabeggers tried to mentally break Hagel, and show him up intellectually. Hagel knew not to take a drink of their "Politically Poisoned Tea." Now one understands why Hagel was one of the lucky few Vietnam Veterans that came home intact. It is very clear that "Insane McCain" did not come home "Mentally Stable." Hagel is very cunning, shrewd, and is able to diagnose situations very quickly. Hagel did not retreat back in his chair. He was leaning forward looking for weakness. Hagel picked his times to respond very carefully. This is going to be very interesting to observe.
the crock of ganging up on Sen Hagel is purely that he did not cowed to the israeli lobby. I am proud of Hagel for representing interest of the American people instead instead of israelis. The US went to war against Iraq because the like of sen graham and some ot his spine less peers in Congress and house cowed down from the pressure from AIPAC and their amen
