What Panetta did was childish. What Obama did to allow him to do it was a total absence of leadership. For one thing the decision to put women in forward combat areas SHOULD NOT BE UP TO POLITICIANS. I'll talk about my political party. My political party had the 1st female Natl Security Advisor and then she was elevated to Sec of State, Condoleeza Rice. My political party appointed the FIRST female justice of the Supreme Court. My political party had four African Americans, two Asian Americans including a Democrat, six women, and three Hispanic Americans in the Bush 43 administration alone!

It should be up to the military leaders and the women in the military. They volunteer for service in this country, the Government isn't forcing women into combat. That women haven't been in combat is a myth. Look how many women have lost their lives, lost their limbs, etc in these useless wars. Telling them that they weren't in combat is an insult.

A three-judge panel of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit said that Obama did not have the power to make three recess appointments last year to the National Labor Relations Board.

The unanimous decision is an embarrassing setback for the president, who made the appointments after Senate Republicans spent months blocking his choices for an agency they contended was biased in favor of unions.

Federal DC Judge confirmed that President Obama's political appointees in the Department of Justice did in fact interfere with the prosecution of two New Black Panther party members after they were filmed outside of a Philadelphia polling place in 2008 wielding a billy club and intimidating voters. Another thing that bothers me is all the attention paid to Benghazi. One thing the Republican party has been known for is their short memory. Let me refresh yours for you. Several years ago, during the " Bush renaissance", there was a special forces service man who died in a firefight in Afghanistan. His name was Pat Tillman, a former NFL player who left a very profitable and enviable career to serve his country. He was hailed as a hero, but the facts around his death didn't match the reports. After discrepancies were investigated, it was found that he died from "friendly fire", a term I'm still not too comfortable with. The government, up to and including the DOD and State Department were active in the cover up of facts concerning his death. Any outrage concerning this obvious manipulation of media was limited mostly to "radical left wing activists", or so they say. This was much more insidious than any so called cover up of the Benghazi affair.

There appear to have been areas were not only did BHO get 100% of the official vote cast soley for him.(that means not even 1 vote for McCain, not even by accident) But is some areas BHO mainaged to get up to 148 voters to vote for him out of every 100 people who were legally registered to volte.

But then, I used to live in Chicago, that is called Chicago style politics. Where even the dead are allowed to vote - as long as they vote for the Democratic party. Hey they have been known to have Republican poll observers get kicked out of the area for asking to verify a voters ID.

Actually, I am a very good speller, I am a poor typist. When I was in school, even college, my work was hand written. Also, the more passionate I am, about a subject, the faster I type and the faster I type, the more typing errors I make. I have been told my hand writing is legible and "pretty." That's not the point, genius, You said that Texas takes more from the Feds than they pay in but since they are required by Washington to provide social services - including health care - to illegals, how much of the Federal dollars they get are from Federal mandates? My guess is that a lot of the Federal dollars that are sent to Texas are to pay for programs created and administered by the Feds to people who are not Texas citizens. Also, since Texas is a popular retirement destination, I am guessing that there are a lot of Medicare and Social Security recipients as well.

Funny that when liberals cry about red states getting more federal money (per capita), they conveniently forget that that is all monies and not just welfare monies. If you want to see the states with more people on welfare just look to the blue states, especially their enclaves in places like Chicago and Los Angeles. They also fail to look at the total monies recieved by the red states vs. the blue states; also where the blue states receive substantially more federal money.

The jobless numbers are dropping because most of the jobless people have used up all of their unemployment benefits and have given up on finding a job. The job market is not much better than before. You people who look down on the jobless folks need to stop spewing your evil remarks. One day you could be in the same boat, standing in the unemployment lines, living off food stamps and welfare.

You cannot blame the companies when they can get cheaper labor, very little if any regulations on construction, free trade (no tariffs), etc. Labor jobs that pay $10.00 to $15.00 per hour over here pay $1.00 or less per day in the foreign countries that are manufacturing our products.

I'm not headstrong for either party -- I vote mostly for the man. But, the signing of NAFTA was by Bill Clinton (a Dem), not a Republican. That opened the doors for free trade and China, Japan, India (and several other countries) have really taken advantage of this situation.

Sometimes 2 and 3 jobs to support my family. I have never collected welfare or any other assistance. I don't complain about paying taxes, it's called being a part of society. And, because I do not have a lot of extra money to donate to charities, I volunteer my time instead. I have voted in every election since I was old enough to do so. I used to vote mostly liberal, but certainly have voted for a few Republicans in my time. But, never again. I do not want to ever be a part of the negative, hateful party that you have become. Compromise is definitely not a dirty word, and there are way more than two views in America....we do not all fit neatly into 2 parties. I also agree with you that unless we are willing to look critically at "our side" instead of just at "them", both sides of the aisle will continue to get away with murder. I also agree that we no longer have a need for the electoral college. Political party's have done everything they can to manipulate the system to help themselves. President Obama was re-elected with about 51% of the popular vote to 48% for Romney and the rest somewhere else. If I'm not mistaken, the president won by landslide in the electoral college by about 2/3 of the votes. Something is very wrong when we can see how skewed politics has made things when we can see a vast difference such as this. I'd have to research the numbers again, but if I'm not mistaken a person could win the presidential nomination by winning the popular vote in the ten most populous states of the Union. Hardly representative of the nation as a whole.

Eliminate the Electoral college? All the small states will leave the union because they don't have enough votes to counter a New York, Illinois, Massachusettes and California population.

The whole point of the system is have everyone involved, not just the ones with lots of votes.

91 Million over 3 years doesn't mean much but every bit does add up to the whole.

The Bigger problem is that our spending (though seemingly contained) averages over an 8% increase anually on the Base line budgeting system. This needs to be reduced to 4 or 5 % so the average revenue increase of 7.5% catches up and pays for everything. That's right Obama got a tax increase on top of the annual average and it isn't even close enough to make a difference.

I remember when she promised she would give house members 48 hours to read the OBAMACARE bill. The bill was over 900 pages of text itself. With many pages consisting of references to other laws and regulations. To actually read and check all the affected documents was only , what -- about 1800 to over 2000 pages. What is really bad is for many items that will be changed by that law, the real effect will not be known even yet since the real effect will not be known until "regulations" and "court" rulings have been made by the "UNELECTED" BS'ers that not even the elected members of the House and Senate can fully control.
