I'm with Big Eddie Schultz!....
Harry is a turncoat, only thinking about what might happen in the future is the TeaPeople gain control....What Ifs?....Harry forgot about NOW...seize the moment! Looks like he made sure that the Senate will not support the Peoples Agenda/Presidents Agenda!.....
And Rev Al on politics Nation -- If you did not catch the major spanking Al gave to the Sheriff who said he would not enforce the President's executive orders on gun safety.
Ya gotta watch it. It was like Monty Python and the Holy Grail when the Black Knight refuses to accept his defeat, even after having his arm loped off, then his leg, and so forth.
Pinal County Sheriff Paul Babeu, what a joke, but sad for those folks in Arizona.
This GOP plan to rig the Electoral College in their favor reminds us of Nazi Germany or Stalinist Russia. Today's Republican party is sleazy, dirty and corrupt. Even if they succeed in their naked power grab, America's rapidly changing demographics will neutralize their success in a few years. When that happens, the Republican Party will be buried deep and hopefully impotent for a long, long time.
If this plan to allot Electrical (sic) College votes is rigging the election, why is it allowed in two states already? I have to imagine that Nebraska is reliably Republican on a state-wide basis as any state, and the Democrats have not made a big stink about the process there. Could it be that it works in their favor there, and that makes it a wonderful idea?
And don't claim that gerrymandering congressional districts is a Republican-only tactic either. The Democratic legislature specifically redsigned the congesisonal map here in Illinois, allowing for a gain of 4 - 5 seats in the most recent election. If I recall correctly, that is about 1/2 of the total Democrat gain in the House.
Stunning to see such ignorant and thuggish posts from all the "Republi-nazis" here. They really can't see outside of their warped right wing media empires' insular and angry world. Just look at how all of the right wing talkers con-jobbed them into believing in fairy tales about the election (aka Rove, Limbaugh, Hannity, Drudge, Morris, etc...). They 've become not only more thuggish but more cultish; no amount of evidence contradicting their position will elicit thoughtful reconsideration, instead they dig in deeper into their rat holes and threaten Second Amendment remedies.
Not seeing the reality that it is their party, not the other, who is the party of "isms": Obstructionism, Homophobism, Militarism, Chauvanism, Fundamentalism, Racism and yes, Facism. A party that professes love of the Constitution then immediately undermines it by distorting its interpretation to align with their nonsensical and outdated views of the world.
They don't get that the gop has become a proxy of the few, not of "we the people" as they profess. They are openly undermining democracy and its very foundation (with funding from from people interested only more personal power and "harvesting" the country to obtain their ambitions). They employ the most pathetic and unpatriotic tactics, like voter suppression and district gerrymandering.
Now they are attempting to change how states award electoral votes by diluting "urban" area votes in favor of rural area votes. If these states were to pass this treasonous legislation, Romney would have been president dispite losing the popular vote by 4% and his opponent also winning the majority vote. Factoring projected demographic changes, by 2028 the Republicans could win the presidency despite losing 65-70% of the popular vote. So how much of the popular vote can you lose and still be considered a legitimate President! Is this is what the flag wavers will call democratic union? Sounds more like a a banana republic!!!!
Indeed, be most aware of tyranny wrapped in the flag.
