The White House is hitting back at the National Rifle Association for its web video, which refers to President Obama's children.
"Most Americans agree that a president's children should not be used as pawns in a political fight," White House Press Secretary Jay Carney said in a statement. "But to go so far as to make the safety of the president's children the subject of an attack ad is repugnant and cowardly."
Here's the transcript of the NRA's ad:
"Are the president’s kids more important than yours? Then why is he skeptical about putting armed security in our schools when his kids are protected by armed guards at their school? Mr. Obama demands the wealthy pay their fair share of taxes. But he’s just another elitist hypocrite when it comes to a fair share of security. Protection for their kids. And gun-free zones for ours.”

Obozo is a hypocrite, below the belt fighter, totally clueless, a total disgusting politician. Bringing those children on stage during his speech just shows how low this piece of trash is. He speaks of common sense, he wouldn't know common sense if it was in front of his face. What a loser.
Obozo is out of control with spending, his views on gun control. The only thing Americans are going to get from this poser is a bankrupt country, less freedom, and larger goverment. The only thing Obozo wants is to be known as the king. What a cancer to this country this clueless piece of trash is.
Step back and stop blaming the man we the people elected, he's not a dictator he's a president, just part of this great country's democracy. This 2012 election I not only registered for my first time voting ever at age 49, but voted for re-electing president Obama with "extreme prejudice" given what I had seen from the GOP and it's incredibly rich trash talking propoganda, including the guy that created and runs Fox News, who was the last Pres. Bush's head of public relations / propoganda. I would not have bothered to vote but in this case the nightmare that was presented by a possible Romney and Ryan presidency of pure lies would have been not only unbearable but frankly unamerican. It does not take more than 60 seconds to get a second and hundreds of additional opinions from greater credibility than Fox News and Rush Limbaugh (which means most people with a brain don't trust either of those). Problem is they spent the last four years hammering Obama rather than actually coming up with some solutions, any solutions. Romneys lies are evident by the fact he never admited he was running Bush pres. campaign part III, with the same staff people in fact. If he had he would have been laughed off the podium. The GOP / Fox News is so warped they think the average citizen can't tell a lie like "I see Romney winning BIG!" and all the bogus crap about how it was supposed to be a "close race" and all when any worthy news source you look at (anything main source but Fox, such as CBS, NBC, CNN basically, is clearly showing a credibility of zero for mr. Willard the horror movie rat and his rat friends in the Fox sewer). Apparently the average Republican thinks the average american is so dumb he or she will believe anything. Like "Jeep is moving to China" over and over when Jeep is screaming across every news station (but Fox for some reason) it's not moving ANYTHING. You sir are like a citizen in 1937 germany who thinks its a good idea to vote for this strong potential leader, Adolf Hitler, since you are reading his propoganda, after all.
These comments are so funny, people think kids can be used to help make a point as long as they are not Obama's kids. Everybody has right???? Can anyone explain to me why we all get upset and blame the NRA and gun owners for crazy people's actions. Shouldn't we concentrate more on mental health instead of our 2nd ammendment. Or maybe we should look at our first ammendment before the second, Where do crazy people get the ideas of mass murder and try to make a name for themselves? From all the news media trying to sell a story, mass murder sells! Making it big news gives more ideas to other crazy people who want to do bigger and better mass murder. But it is our right to know about these mass murders, why? Is it good news? or is it Political news? Why dont we make big news about someone defending themselves with their gun and safing their families lives? Why? because then we can't blame the guns!
Has anyone compared the number of abortions in our country a year to the number of murders by guns, in case you dont know it is 300,000 plus, yet thats OK.
It is the NRA's fault we do nothing to help our mentally ill people in this country!
Mass murders dont care about laws or gun control issues, they will murder by any means possible, bombs, fire, knifes, chemicals, lets blame the NRA here also!
You missed the boat. Lost completely. It's about making steps, even baby steps, toward a safer America. This means no illegal gun sales (which account for 40% of guns sold) and no more mass killing capable weapons anywhere. If we put measures in place we can at least spot a threat a whole lot easier. Right now some crazy idiot in camo with an AR15 is a patriot. We need to stop being naive, patriotism was never about one person and his or her assault rifle. If there's any patriotic movement that needs guns you won't need a machine gun you will have numbers. It's also true that most of what Obama included in his violence prevention / gun control measures was better tracking and education regarding mental illness. That boat is still waiting for you stop trying to play a blame game, it's time for action and anyone in the way should be treated as a terrorist in my opinion.
I forgot to mention "Fast and Furious" Our own government can give guns to criminal knowing what would happen with this guns and yet nobody, nobody cares how corrupt this was! Let people get killed so we can force new gun laws? WTF! What a cover up!
We want to protect all our people from guns? What happened in Benghazi swept under the rug. I guess we care only about 20 young children when it benefits us to care!
Well, since high profile people are often targeted by mentally handicapped or criminally inclined people (e.g., Presidents, their families, famous actors, the truly wealthy), the president has a very valid complaint about having his children spotlighted in the NRA ad. It's not much different than placing a red bullseye on a Gabby Gifford picture and finding out some nutcase thinks its OK to shoot her. And for those of you who believe that everyone's kids should have the same protection as a president's kids, you are simply dense or disingenuous. The presidents' families have always been protected because they have a much higher risk of being killed or kidnapped.
I doubt very much that the NRA leadership would want their children profiled in a public format. After all, crazy doesn't come in one political flavor.

Guns don't kill people, people do. This hysteria motivated in part by the elect Hilary cabal, is a crock. Obama and Hilary are both liars to the American people, preying on the fears of a small group of Eastern Shore voters. In forty years in law enforcement, Chicago and Phoenix, the only people NOT killed by a gun were winos and down and outers wanting someone else shoes. Oh and Obama carefully sidesteps all the shootings in Chicago. Whose doing all the shooting in the Windy City. Nah, black African Americans killing each other for a perceived slight. How are you going to legislate the gangs, all of which are African American and Hispanics, legal or other wise, in this country. Sorry Whitey.

If you believe gun regulations are aimed at guns you are a moron. Gun legislation is intended to regulate people .... what guns they can buy, background checks for every gun sale, size of ammunition magazine, etc.
Most of the regulation is aimed at keeping guns out of the hands of criminals. Our current system places too much trust in people who keep calling themselves "law abiding citizens", but somehow those guns keep migrating from legal buyers to criminals. Those law abiding citizens are not nearly responsible enough with their guns.
How do criminals get guns? The largest percentage are sold by licensed gun dealers who illegally sell without background checks to criminals. Next highest is straw purchases by people who can pass a background check buying for people who can't. Next highest is ordinary citizens who purchased guns legally and sell to people who can't pass background checks.
The new laws will have little effect on responsible gun owners but will keep at least some guns out of the hands of criminals.
