Barney Frank interested in becoming senator

Aides to the newly retired Rep. Barney Frank say the congressman definitely wants to be appointed by Massachusetts Gov. Deval Patrick as a caretaker senator. The opening would occur when John Kerry moves to the State Department pending his confirmation as the next secretary.

Frank, who is 72, has said he looked forward to life after Congress and "not having to answer the phone." But just one day after his 16 years in Congress ended, Frank has changed his mind citing the Senate's expected focus on fiscal issues, where Frank could use his expertise as the former top Democrat on the House Financial Services Committee. A caretaker appointment would be short-term, just for a few months until the special election is set.

Fmr. Rep. Barney Frank, D-Mass., proves there's no rest for the recently retired. When asked by Joe Scarborough if he would consider being future Sen. Barney Frank, Frank responded by saying he's spoken with the Mass. Governor Deval Patrick about being appointed temporarily.

Frank told "Morning Joe," "A few weeks ago said, I said I wasn't interested. It was kind of like, you're about to graduate and they said, you've got to go to summer school. But that [fiscal cliff] deal now means that February, March, and April are going to be among the most important months in American financial history."

When Sen. Kennedy died in 2009, the governor chose long time Kennedy aide and former Democratic National Committee chair Paul Kirk to serve in the interim before Scott Brown won the seat. Aides say they cannot comment this morning on whether Frank has heard back from Gov. Patrick.

Too bad there wasn't a real Democrat to run for president in 2012, instead of the Republican mole Obama.

The guy who stood at the podium and said the housing bubble is a myth just before it popped? While his live in lover was working for those who caused the financial meltdown in this country? Why not? The American people seem to be as dumb as a box of rocks, re electing politicians who were convicted of drug crimes, etc.

His bill wrecked our economy, but it is more important for him to 'retire' with SENATOR BENEFITS!!!

The governor should be impeached if he appoints this clown

    His bill wrecked our economy,

Frank had nothing to do with wrecking the economy. That was the result of a lack of adequate regulations on the derivatives markets, primarily due to Republican obstructionism.

You and many others have their head in the sand as usual. Barney Frank was the MAIN culprit in the Housing disaster and should be in prison like many others. The government has 44 czars that are corrupt, ex cons, communist in practice and belief, that Obama put in high ranking positions without Congress Approval. This next 4 years should really prove interesting and this administration working on abolishing the 2nd Amendment and the 22nd Amendment if at all possible. Obama has been circumventing the Constitution when ever possible and the Congress hasn't the balls to come down on this illegal practice. The Democrats will have to be watched this next 4 years and the Republicans must get their act together and stop acting like a bunch of school girls with no guts or organization.

You don't know what you're talking about. As I said, the housing disaster was the result of an unregulated derivatives market that has been growing unchecked since the Reagan years and had nothing to do with Frank. 'Czar' is a term invented by the media for advisers to the president, and is not a formal title at all. Obama actually reduced the number of such advisers over his predecessor, and none of them are ex cons or communists. That's just delusional. Advisers have never required Congressional approval.

      What gibberish.

Liberal BS, as usual! Anything to distract the facts away from the Democratic party is typical with you people. Always blaming the other guy. Never has the guts to stand behind your decisions and conduct yourselves with pride, responsibility, class, morals and character. The Democratic party. Constantly screwing the people and looking out for yourselves. People in here know better. Believe your own delusional BS all you want. You people are afraid of the truth and facts.

You people are afraid of the truth and facts.

Let us know if you every come up with any.

In the meantime, you're wasting your time will sophomoric characterizations of those with whom you simply disagree. Nobody cares.

          Always blaming the other guy.

Like blaming Barney Frank, and those evil, albeit mythical 'czars', I assume. Duh.

The cause of the housing collapse is well documented, but it requires a certain degree of reading comprehension. Good luck with that.

Barney Frank would be an excellent choice. He brings a points of view that need to be heard in the Senate. He has the courage and confidence to acknowledge who he is. Too many of those rascals are like movies sets that hide what is real behind facades.

NY Dem reintroduces bill to eliminate presidential term limits.

Published by: Robert Laurie on Sunday January 6th, 2013

By ROBERT LAURIE - Obama forever!

It seems a New York Democrat congressman, Jose Serrano, would like to help Barack Obama stay in the White House indefinitely. Last year, he introduced a bill in the House of Representatives designed to repeal the 22nd Amendment, thus ending Presidential term limits. The bill was never acted upon, and died a quick death in the 112th Congress.

Now Serrano has reintroduced the bill, in the hopes of seeing it get a little farther in the 113th.

              He's going to be disappointed.

First, the bill would have to be brought to the floor by the Chairman of the House Judiciary Committee. That won't happen. This thing died in committee last year, and it will do the same this time around. But, just for fun, let's say it managed to get to the floor. It would have to pass both houses of Congress, and then be approved by 2/3 of the states.

For a term limit repeal, that's an incredibly high bar - one that will never be crossed while a divisive President like Barack Obama is in office.

The only reason we pay it any attention at all is to point out the fact that far-left Dems are once again pursuing an agenda that puts them in direct conflict with the U.S. Constitution. They're furious that they're being prevented them from doing whatever they please, whenever they like, so they're looking for a workaround.

              HopeisGone

It is obvious that these people are delusional, arrogant, idiotic, lazy, and want the government to take care of them where they don't have to make any decisions at all. These people should be sent to an island like they had in Star Trek, Botany Bay Colony, where they live and die and won't bother us honest and hard working, patriotic Americans. These are the people that want America to become a Socialist, Communist country. This is the only reason they want Obama since he is making America into what he has studied and agrees with all his life. Another Venezuela and Chavez, lifetime president and dictator, an extreme leftist. The more people on government entitlements, the more POWER and CONTROL Obama has. The next 4 years will for sure be interesting and worst than the past 4 years.

There is little doubt but that many in today's Democratic Party would burn the Constitution tomorrow if they could and install a one man strong man rule in this country. Similar to "governments" that existed say about 800-2000 years ago. When there was no opposition. When there was no debate, just an "executive" decree. I would expect more, not less, attempts in the future to radically change the way this country's government works.

Barney Frank is a crook that stole this country blind. Seems like a lot of people have forgotten the Housing bubble was started in the Clinton administration and was because Franks was the initiator of that. Franks is a criminal that should be locked away. We can thank him for the housing disaster during the Bush Administration. Typical, supporting the same crooks and corruption over and over again. No wonder America is in the toilet and heading for a 3rd world country.

Two words "Goldman Sachs". What an incredible load of bull@!$%# for Fux news comedy channel to continually deceive the population while shifting the emphasis from this den of Vipers, to other entities. Just look at the profit they made from 2006-2010, first bilking investors and then betting in favor of the pillage and plunder they caused. After crashing and destorying a host of companies and markets they extorted the taxpayers to bail everyone out and took huge bonuses. After putting millions out of home, work and retirement, they were not jailed but rather rewarded. Now, to be further exonerated by using media to cover up their deceit, is incredible. Frank and Dodd Merely tried to put back some rules that consorting and criminal right wing legislators like Phil Gramm, helped remove. These rules protected us all and somehow in about 50 years we forgot why they were so important. Remember, Bain Capital/ This was not a business, but rather a ponzi scheme to Rob banking institutions and ultimately the investors. The end result was mass unemployment, the decline of community and all of the money in the pockets of criminals like Mitt Romney. Interesting that they call this Capitalism when it looks exactly like White Collar Crime.

Barney Fag is the perfect voting senator for this trick and don't have to worry about being re-elected to the Senate because he was never elected there in the first place.
