Obama agenda: Automatic

Obama signed the fiscal cliff bill with an auto pen.

AP: President Barack Obama has signed a $633 billion defense bill for next year that tightens penalties on Iran and bolsters security at diplomatic missions worldwide after the deadly attack in Benghazi, Libya.

Politico: “President Barack Obama won’t be able to enjoy much of a victory lap from his win over congressional Republicans on the fiscal cliff fight. There are about 16.4 trillion reasons why. The staggering national debt — up about 60 percent from the $10 trillion Obama inherited when he took office in January 2009 — is the single biggest blemish on Obama’s record, even if the rapid descent into red began under President George W. Bush.”

The New York Times adds, “For President Obama and his Democratic allies in Congress, the fiscal deal reached this week is full of small victories that further their largest policy aims. Above all, it takes another step toward Mr. Obama’s goal of orienting federal policy more toward the middle class and the poor, at the expense of the rich. Yet the deal, which the Senate and the House have passed and Mr. Obama is expected to sign soon, also represents a substantial risk for the president.”

Last night I was talking to a store clerk about the fiscal cliff deal, and we agreed, Congress looks like a bunch of losers over this mess. We bandied about ideas for seeking our revenge on our elected dimwits. It's clear House Republicans weren't putting the nation first. What do you do with a Congress that doesn't serve the people? That's the question for 2013.

If you think the president was putting the nation first... then you are a fool!!

This was about POWER nothing more nothing less... POWER !!

I have talked with a "store clerk" too and we came to the agreement that NOBODY in Washington gives a rat's rear end about any of us and that they are only interested in POWER!!

I love the spending pork in this cliffy thing. There were tax breaks for the movie producers (got payback for supporting Obama), NASCAR (whom liberals love to hate), gifts for Captain Morgan rum (???), and tax credits for makers of two or three wheeled plug-in electric cars, Indian coal facilities and companies that do business in American Samoa (the husband of Nancy Pelosi).

The 157 page bill passed by congress avoided the nation's iscal crisis and the special interest groups won. I thought Obama wanted to eliminate "PORK" from any legislation he passes.

Does Nancy have a conflict of interest with her support of the bill? Thi is the second year she supported legislation supporting America Samoa and her husband's tuna business. Interesting,

I read these special interests received support in the amount of d$30B, while increasing taxpayer investment on taxes to include the ObamaCare legislation.

Watch your paycheck (if you work) decrease thanks to these professional politicians of the US Government Corporation.

Another way of saying this would be to say, President Obama's policy's are oriented in favor of the many, at the expense of the few. The republican policy is quite the opposite. Depending on how you stand, favoring the few is not suppose to be the target of legislation. It is well past time that those that have the most step up and contribute their fair share to move this country forward. The middle class has suffered long enough. Since Ronald Reagan introduced the failed supply side down economics to America, quality of life has diminished perceivably for the middle class and below. If supply side economics had worked there would not be such a wide margin between middle class income and the very rich. The republicans need to rethink these failed policy's if they want to continue as a viable party. I personally would like to have a choice of a moderate republican or a moderate democrat to vote for, instead of extremes, like Justin Amish.

are either of you bothered by the special interest tax loopholes that obama insisted be part of this fiscal cliff legislation?

ge and citi get to continue paying significantly reduced or no federal tax -- corporate welfare and crony-capitalism at its best

hollywood gets another $450M tax break -- apparently as compensation for their support of obama

No billybob, I am not bothered, I am more bothered that you bring Fox facts here and expect other people to fall for them like you have.

Faux News has lost half their audience, and their credibility. Lowfo's like billybob haven't learned the lesson that faux news is entertainment, not news, but they keep referring to Faux as if what they have to say matters anymore.

"Park Avenue: Money, Power and the American Dream". Find it on-line, watch and learn what and who our leaders care about. Politics in America has nothing to do with our society or individual needs. It is all about who has the most ($) at the end of the game. Our government will send trillions of dollars out of the country "to help" (read: influence) our fellow citizens of planet Earth, but argue over helping our families and neighbors in times of desperate need. Every time mother nature guts this country, it is a war over who gets what ($) and how best to take advantage, financially, of the pain and suffering of our fellow citizens. All we can depend on are each other and prepare for the time when we are sacrificed for the "good" of our political system.

As we move forward with the remaining cliffs that we need to overcome, I can't wait to hear the words of the "ANGRY BLACK MAN (FEISTY QUOTE) when he submits his plan for spending cuts.

But the Republicans will be blamed for not supporting the classes.

Of course the crushing debt and blaming and punishing business will kill the economy and make a "victory lap" not genuine. But voters proved during the past election that they don't care about economic matters, even if it negatively affects them -- they will react and vote based on "their team" and the charisma of the guy making a great speech in front of a carefully selected "audience".

And the President doesn't care if he wins or loses the "debt ceiling" or spend reductions -- the ONLY victory he is interested in is the PR win that will get him another Rubber Stamp Congress in 2014. Every Democrat action between now and 11/4/2014 will be toward discrediting Republicans and "Old White Guys" so that those who see the true light can triumph over the evil the "rich" have given us. If you expect actions that will better the lives of Americans, you elected the wrong folks.
