Republicans making arguments over tax cuts for the Top 2% wealthiest Americans is something that the Top 2% wealthiest Americans are NOT even asking for, i.e., the GOP is making an argument that nobody but the GOP wants.

I'm beginning to feel as though Republican politicians are fighting for tax cuts for themselves, and no one else.

This is the problem we have today. Liberals/Progressives have no desire whatsoever to fix the economy. Their only goal is to protect all their unsustainable entitlements and social programs at any cost, even to the point of collapsing our economy.

The manner in which Liberals/Progressives view taxes is so dysfunctional it’s hard to explain. Here is an example of the convoluted thinking of Liberals. This was actually posted on another thread on Newsvine.

usa1967, what you fail to understand is that it doesn't matter if raising the taxes on the top 2% does or doesn't make a big difference in our budget. What does matter is that it'll bring about some fairness in the system. It'll bring about the situation where the top 2% are paying the same percentage of taxes as the middle class are. And I don't know about you, but I do know that it'll make me and a lot of other middle classers feel a lot better.

This is the delusional mind of a Liberal/Progressive.

The economy means nothing to them. It’s all about their little bleeding-heart emotions. They readily admit they just want to punish the successful Americans because they can’t compete at that level. This is all about how it makes them “feel”. How irrational and bizarre is this type of thinking?

This is exactly how the indoctrination of Liberals/Progressives by their government idols has created this disconnect. They have been told by their parents, family, friends, teachers and their sacrosanct government that the best they can achieve is to be middle-class. This is the class-warfare/envy brainwashing that Barrack Hussein and the rest of the Ivy League faculty lounge statists have succeeded with. They allow the useful idiots their middle-class status while the elitists assume the Bourgeoisie power over them.

The biggest concern is how many Americans are willingly submitting to this Proletariat lifestyle. Our great Republic used to be a proud, ambitious and independent people. Today they are consumed with self-pity and dependence on a cartoon-like description of their life as promoted by Barrack Husseins “Life of Julia”. Liberals/Progressives have accepted the elitists position that the middle class is just there to serve the government bureaucrats.

So, Liberals don’t care about our great country and its future, all they care about is “feeling” that their life is “fair”. The saddest part is, none of them can define fair.

This is the embarrassment of Liberalism/Progressivism.

Boehner seems like a nice enough guy and he gets along well with the President, but he is powerless among his own Republican House Members.

Boehner is a very weak Leader, I think it's because he wants to do the right thing, but the GOP refuses to follow his lead, probably because Boehner gets along well with the President which is taboo to the GOP.

How are you going to pay for that Lie Called the War in Iraq without money? China will NOT accept Food Stamps or spending cuts to repay all those loans, they want cash.

Wealthy businesses are making record profits but they're not hiring, and if they don't hire then they're not expanding the tax base.

So, if they'd rather stack cash instead of hiring workers and/or giving workers proper raises and fringe benefits so that workers can go out and spend, then they're going to have to pay those taxes themselves.

Tax cuts for the rich is what Mitt Romney campaigned on, and "Trickle Down Economics" is the Republican Brand. So if you think this is NOT about tax cuts for the rich, I have a bridge I'd like to sell you.

As long as there are Republicans and Democrats in Washinton, D.C., the Debt will never "retire".

Just as we saw after Bill Clinton paid down the debt, balanced the budget, and had a $450 billion dollar surplus in the Treasury, another politician will come along like George "Curveball" Bush did and lie and cheat his way into the White House to get his hands on that $450 billion dollar surplus.

We all know what happens after that -- They start a war because war guarantees a second term.
