A spokesman for Rep. Paul Ryan, R-Wisc., says the former vice presidential nominee and current House Budget Chairman plans to vote in support of Speaker Boehner's "Plan B" measure that would extend Bush-era tax rates for Americans making less than $1 million annually but not for incomes over $1 million.
"Chairman Ryan will continue to work to protect as many Americans as possible from tax hikes," said the aide. "Chairman Ryan believes that Speaker Boehner's "Plan B" meets that criteria."
If Ryan were to oppose the plan -- which has earned scorn from some anti-tax conservatives who say they will not accept any tax increases, even on top earners -- it could have been seen as a sign that Boehner had lost control of the GOP conference.
The vote on the measure is currently scheduled for tomorrow on the House floor.

The Bratwurst King strikes again...
Ol blue eyes has been eerily silent since he got his ass kicked in November! lol
Paul Who?
Do you mean...'Mr. Voucher'?
Actually after his defeat, he already used some of the left-over vouchers to have seen the-rapists, I mean...therapists.
It wont get passed in the Senate, The republicans are pissing on themselves. Who knew.
Chairman Ryan will continue to work to protect as many Americans as possible from tax hikes,"
Should read: Chairman Ryan will continue to work to protect as many millionaires as possible from tax hikes.
Over the cliff we go then. Bring on the spending cuts!
Paul Lying..that's before pigture (before election)
Poor Ryan..that's after pigture (after election)
.
a kodak moment - outdated? The GOP still lives in the past.
Do they still call him Little Eddie?
A friend of mine (right winger) said about the most accurate statement about the Republican party that i have heard...
The Republican Party is like a country club... elitist that think that it is a favor to let you join, yet a group that is slowly fading away.
The three little pigs strike again !
Okay, one little pig twice and the usual BIIGGG one only once !
Raising taxes during a recession is not good for our country per Obama. The problem is that we are still pretty damn "depressed" with very sluggish growth, unemployment still "too damn high" and rising National Debt .... with never a BUDGET from this administration !!!
Republicans are celebrating because they have already gotton all they wanted, cuts to Social Security, and Medicare, our President just gave in without a fight. Now Republicans are "Pretending" they are unhappy while laughing all the way to the bank because the Elderly and Middle Class families will be picking up the tab. Once again our President threw Seniors under the bus by including the CPI which will cost Seniors about $32,000 reduction in benefit over the next few years.
It seems some are not doing their home work while championing the President and not fully understanding what President Obama has done to Seniors in particular cutting their benefit and the Middle Class relative to taxes.
If we cannot address the issues, we are in trouble as a nation. I don't care who it is, we must hold them accountable, in this case our president must be held accountable and anyone who supports this plan that guts Seniors benefits and the Middle Class.
SandieLove,
What are you talking about? The President is not giving the Republicans what they want.
Boy, the gun nuts are out in force today. Can you say panic? Geez, all the President is doing is asking Congress to do their job and act on what the majority of people in this country want. All of a sudden, it's lock down mode. It's going to be real funny when a bill on banning assault weapons and large ammo clips is passed. These folks will no longer be "law abiding citizens" if they don't obey the orders.
And we care what Lyin' Ryan said because?
No matter. I see that the Republican position is rapidly transforming to "protecting as many as possible from tax increases." It's all a face saving maneuver to save face as much as possible with the wingnutosphere. Whatever is worked out in the end, by the time it gets the President's signature the GOPTP base will be convinced that "we've always been at war with Eastasia."
yeah real funny tony. Probably really funny when they extend the patriot act and sneek and peak warrants and phone tapping etc.
go fetch the obscure poll that says the majority of people want 'assault' weapons banned.
[go fetch the obscure poll that says the majority of people want 'assault' weapons banned.]
Nobody is going to do your homework for you, numbnuts. Find it yourself. You're one of those "big brained" hypocrites, aren't you?
Sure you are...
It seems that you are truly misinformed as usual Little Wheezer. But judging from your posts over the last three days, I'd say you've blown a gasket. So why the meltdown? Afraid someone is going to knock on your door and take away your imaginary guns? Tell the truth, @!$%#-for-brains...you don't own any guns. You could never pass a background check. Even if you did, if the Federal Government wanted to take them away, it will. Cowards like you hide behind women's skirts. Just look at your attacks on the women posters here. Simply put, you will be on the wrong side of history on this one.
[Probably really funny when they extend the patriot act and sneek and peak warrants and phone tapping etc.]
Oh, stop with the conspiracy theories, you @!$%#. If any of those things are extended, or if someone comes knocking on your door for your guns, it's because of @!$%#s like you.
Oh, and hey...I need to compliment you on your new hat...funny how it looks like your ass. You've had it handed to you so many times over the last few days, you might as well wear it as a hat.
PIZZA! PIZZA!
*waves to Mickey*
Long time no see - I've missed you!
OUCH!
That one is gonna leave a mark on his saggy backside! ☺
i didnt make the claim either einstein but i see you've hit the liquid courage early eh pee wee.. yeah you did
cute you call me a coward arent you the one who has a habit of 'reporting' people? Funny as you speak of hypocrites. Im curious peewee does that yellow streak run all the way down your back? But hey if these so called women of yours want to act like male truckers i suppose they can play with the big boys right Prince Valiant?
sure Champ, i bet your magic 8ball side 'likely' too.
Mickey you have never handed my my ass, just because you repeat dont make it true. PS good luck with the gun regulating but keep drinking milk one day you'll be big and strong peewee
P.S. Mall Ninja Mickey, nothing brings me greater joy knowing i get your panties in a ruffle girly man
Poor Little Wheezer...is that all you got? Oh, how far you've fallen. You've become the very thing you despise the most, and that. is. hilarious!
So tell us Cheezer...why have you've chosen to champion your "gun rights" for your imaginary guns over your imaginary "child in Kindergarten"?
Because you're a liar, that's why...you have no kids, and you have no guns. You're too stupid to have either, but hey, everyone needs a hobby, right taxboy? And you've chosen being an @!$%# for 12 hrs a day, 4 days a week posting from your job "in infrastructure" (another lie).
You have nothing Little Cheese-ass...except wearing your ass as a hat. chick binder did a great job of schooling you today. How did that feel? That must have hurt. Coward. tick tock, my furry little multi-reggie!
PIZZA! PIZZA!
uh oh, its like i have prove it to you LOL... Sure Mickey its imaginary. thats fine. But riddle me this, are you a professional moron or a gifted amatuer? Im going with gifted my little window licker ;)
Uh oh Mickey prove it? oh wait no one is going to do that for me right? Well guess i dont have to prove it then, nor do i care. I always have Wiki. But i am a liar Mickey and your disgruntled with your Dog Catcher Job in Rochester. So call me a liar like im offended you dont believe me. I'll still sleep fine.
So keep up with the liquid courage pal. your name calling is nothing more than a diversion from the fact that you cant hang. Tick Tock my little CoH offender : o )
Keep those panties on Mickey..muah
POPCORN!!!! : o ) my little occutard?
Geezez Mickey, that was a severe beat down. Nothing like going easy on the little fella' Oh well, the a$$ clown deserves it. You know, the one thing none of these wannabe warriors have answered yet is exactly why they feel they need these rapid fire guns and ammo clips to begin with. I know in some parts it's pre requisite to receiving your "man card" but all I ever hear is it's "my Second Amendment" right! Spare me, please. They'll suck on that t!t until it's dry but it won't do a bit of good. Change is a comin' and it's coming real soon. Can't wait.
btw, Sleezer, listen to something other than fox and you'll find out that nearly two thirds of the country is in favor of some kind of reform. Even our illustrious guv'ner hear in MI backed off and vetoed the bill that would've have allowed concealed weapons in places such as schools, churches and sports stadiums. Yea, just the kind of place you want some vigilante cowboy drawing a weapon with a shaky Barney Fife hand and shooting. Can you say "retards!"
Mickey, feel better. Nah I have Mickey who seems to read my posts like the bible all day while 'working'. He comes in later in the evening (7:30ish NY time right?) to give the appearance that he's a real intellect and 'ass hander'. I notice has time to read throughout the day but 'too busy' im sure to come play in the morning. I suspect Sir Galahad here lacks the male anatomy to come out in the morning becasue i have witnessed him get beat like a drum. hence the vampire night approach. Something about coward or what have you. Because we all know Mickey is the epitome of courage...Right Mickey? sure you are
Hey Mickey, when you come out here for burning man next year, let me know. im sure you'll hide behind im the 'liar' and wont entertain it. Thats ok i understand hercules.
[uh oh, its like i have prove it to you]
It's a simple question Wheezer...why do you put your guns ahead of your five year old?
I can understand why you don't want to answer the question:
You can't...
You won't... (god I love saying that!)
Either you're a liar, or you don't care for your kid. So which is it, Cheezer? Personally, I think you just don't know which side you're bread is buttered on...isn't that right, Pizza Boy...
Yeah, you know I'm right. But you keep spouting those Fox "news" talking points, @!$%#. It suits you to T. And stop with the lies will ya, you've made a big enough @!$%# of yourself, as chick binder pointed out...now that was CLASSIC!
Homework assignment dip@!$%#: You think about that question, and you get back to me tomorrow...i'll even let you sleep on it. Now go home, but don't drive angry, OK?
[Hey Mickey, when you come out here for burning man next year, let me know]
You're too much of a pussy to attend something like that, too afraid you'll "catch something", right?...besides, no guns allowed at Burning Man...oh, and no cowards, so you're done.
Yeah, you know I'm right.
PIZZA! PIZZA!
Caesar, you asked for a poll showing that a majority of Americans support a ban on assault weapons. Do you know how to use Google?
http://www.businessweek.com/news/2012-12-19/majorities-favor-bans-on-assault-weapons-and-clips-poll-shows
Paul Ryan seriously doesn't get it.
He's still doing and saying the same things that cost him and Romney the election, which is to find a different way to say the same things he said before, only with some Ryan-type of "sugar" on it.
Dear Paul Ryan: Hearing your crap makes me happier than ever that I voted to re-elect President Obama.
What a maroon! (Bugs Bunny)
i never did but the constitution exists before you i or my 5 year old. thats an idiotic question since there is no context to it.
look pvss cake if that is how you have to look at it fine. I have legal rights to it, i own guns and have them locked away, if it offends you then talk to the ACLU, text Obama, and call Vladamir Putin if it bothers you so much. I have taken my children shooting, teach them gun safety. You champion yourself as some sort of freedom fighter yet you do not know why. You've jumped on the knee jerk bandwagon of ban guns but cant explain why. You'll site Newton and Aurora yet again have no idea why. So perhaps you should quit with MSNBC talking points its the same shlt i hear on here day and day out. Hey Mickey how many guns have walked up and killed someone? HOW FVCKING MANY? ill save you the suspense...NONE...the morons, much like you that do. I dont watch Fox Mickey and again if you dont believe me write your senator or call your union rep because ultimately ask if i give a f*ck? spoiler alert, i dont.. So hide behind your vague questions and ambiguity, you always have and continue to hand azzes but its your world and its a vast internet one at that champ ; o )
not what your wife said
oh well yes sir... After all you are a commanding authority on the issue eh. sure you are... what happens if i dont? you'll hand me my ass? somehow i'll live ; o )
Google?
This dumb @!$%# couldn't find his ass with a GPS system & flashlight!
All little seizure has are his regurgitated "spoon fed" squawking points... lol
Best to put the little boy on ignore, it will save you many brain cells over the course of time! ;o)
Feisty Redhead Roselle, IL
says the idiot that has me on ignore. who has to fetch her little chihuahua to fight for her. Sure FISTY you know all about GOOGLE, just like WIKI MICKEY
you have the opportunity to tell me to my face but i understand, the extent of your courage is only through your cable connection. Dont need to bring a gun loverboy. never threatened anyone with one.
OMG! Thank you! Thank you! to MICKEY! I truly do not think I have laughed this hard in a while. Wow, I really needed to laugh hard after being so upset over Sandy Hook. I think I just may have to take Pizza Boy off of ignore. I seem to be missing out on opportunities to converse with him in a meaningful way.
PIZZA! PIZZA! (This alone puts me in hyterics!)
Caesar, Post #1.23
Alaska Girl,
Nah!
Leave the pussy-boy on ignore, you can follow the gist of his bull@!$%# by what others copy & paste in their responses... save the brain cells! ;o)
final thought Mickey, again i dont need a gun to face people Mickey. You see Mickster I just have this neat little right to bear arms as afforded to me in the constitution. I think its cowardice to shoot children or unarmed people. I think its deplorable. now i know you think 'arms' can be a butter knife but sheesh Mickey its almost like you think a despot couldnt ever take over as head of state in the US. What kind of arrogance is that? It for me isnt a d or r issue, its an American issue. I wonder if you know what a well regulated militia is? You probably think the Army is a 'regulated' militia, here's a little clue look into the minute men (no not you silly, your wife forgives you for that)
PS Mickey enjoy your fan club too. you have to take what you can get even if it is Fisty the primitive screwhead
[i never did but the constitution exists before you i or my 5 year old. thats an idiotic question since there is no context to it.]
Way to avoid the question, coward...just like you simply couldn't bring yourself to defend Ryan/Romney, and we all know how well that worked out. Go back and read your posts since Monday...you should be ashamed of yourself, even if you're saying these things to wind the rubber band. And if that's the case, well..that just makes you an @!$%# by New York standards. You can't wiggle your way out of this one, WeaselBoy.
But I knew you wouldn't have the balls to answer, and it's because you're a liar, or just plain ignorant. Plain and simple. Seeking Sanity was right all along...huh.
So, which is it Cheezer? Are you a liar, or just ignorant?
How does it feel to value your guns over the life of your 5 year old? Pity, all that "schooling" (if that's what you call looking things up on the internets), and not a drop of common sense. And you have the ignorance to blame the country's woes on liberals...
PIZZA! PIZZA!
ps: don't forget your homework assignment, coward.
[...I just have this neat little right to bear arms as afforded to me in the constitution.]
Oh you're so full of crap, Little Squeezer. But that's just like you to hide behind this bull@!$%#. Nothing is infringing on "your rights", and you know it. You do know that, right?
Sure you do.
Now go hug your five year old and tell him or her how you value your guns over them.
...@!$%#ing coward...
i answered it, if its not to your liking tough shlt...
yeah we all know your tough as a result...spare me mickey its the internet...quit acting tough
how do you figure stupid? I still have both....just more empty headedness Mickey
Mickey we live in paradise because of liberals member, after all you say it daily...pvsscake.. be off with you
Yes he is. Obama's better than the GOP, but he's once again negotiated with himself and thrown them a bone that they'll happily eat as they whittle his position down to theirs.
[i answered it, if its not to your liking tough shlt...]
You didn't answer it, you avoided it. But I expected that.
Now go hug your guns and put your kid in the gunsafe, @!$%#.
PIZZA! PIZZA!
Mickey! I bow to you! You are EPIC!
I almost lost it when you said "internets"!
God I love NY wit, sarcasm and humor! Reminds me of back in the day with my parents and aunts and uncles and grandmas, all born and raised in the Bronx. Oh, they way they "tawked"!
[God I love NY wit, sarcasm and humor! Reminds me of back in the day with my parents and aunts and uncles and grandmas, all born and raised in the Bronx. Oh, they way they "tawked"!]
Hi AKG...and that's all it is...humor. ;) I'm a nice guy...really.
I lived in the city until I was 6...the Hell's Kitchen section of Manhattan, and we were the only Italians on a block of Irish families, but that was a long time ago. I do visit NYC frequently, and my job takes me there quite often.
According to CheezerBoy I'm a "dog catcher in Rochester", but he is wrong about lots of things. Hell, last week I was washing laundry for the Navy...or some psyco-babble like that. But don't tell him that. I enjoy his meltdowns.
Ok, well...I need another cuppa kawfey.
PLAN B - "...while TWO (2) MILLION Americans would lose unemployment insurance", on December 29th, 2012.
Through no fault of their own, I know of 2 million Americans and their families, (now read 6-8 MILLION Americans effected), who will not be having a "Merry Christmas" if this gets passed as advertised.
All of my family has always owned guns. I got my first shooting lesson from my uncle, with my grandfather's .308, which is now mine, when I was four. I gave my sister her first shooting lesson when she was 8, I began teaching my boys, when they were 5. We don't put our guns before our children, we put our guns in their hands.
We all have lot's of guns. We don't buy them for protection. We buy them for hunting, and for fun. Some of us have had occasion to use them for protection, but none of us has ever killed anyone, outside of war, since my great uncle Joe had to defend himself from some cowboys who were insisting on driving their cattle through his sheep ranch and didn't realize that Basque/Irish sheepherders ain't Mennonites.
No one in my family has ever shot anyone or been shot, by accident. I believe gun deaths are caused by criminals, ignoramuses, and crazy people. Not guns. Pass all the gun control laws you want. We have lots of guns and the bench loader I bought my father 30 years ago, is now set up at my sister's place.
Ryan and Bohner and all the Republican haters of working people can go suck it. Going over the fiscal speedbump is looking more and more like the best course. If Obama gives them an inch, I want my vote back.
Old Blue eyes; LOL
[Old Blue eyes; LOL]
Francis Albert was born in Hoboken, NJ :)
TO: Feisty Redhead Roselle, IL
[Do you know how to use Google]
OMG Feisty, you made me laugh so hard I can't stop!!!
Good one!!!
Ok Mr. President your move.
Don't you think he should wait for the results of the House vote?
The President has long ago moved to the right...in his first term...and has taken over most of the independent voters and even some right-wing admirers.
.
What's there left to move into???
Why I'm sure he has already figured out some Presidential mandate to get around it anyway.
Mr. President has already made his move. $400k. I think that is very fair. Now, let's talk spending cuts! Defense cuts to be exact.
Just a simple veto ozziey ... you do see things in a far too complicated manner.
Pig, I don't think thats possible for this President. Way to change your post Pig.
Then, ozzie, you would be wrong. Pay attention.
If I were the President, I would tell the Republicans that if we go over the cliff, his counteroffer to Boehner of extending the tax cuts to those earning less than $400K (which caused Boehner to walk away and do this current stunt) will be withdrawn and the only offer will be to extend the tax cuts to those earning less than $250K. I am so sick of the Republicans walking away whenever Obama tries to compromise.
No Alaska you would be deaf, dumb and blind.
ozzie...y?
....resorting to personal attacks shows desperation!
....U R not a gentleman, also
Could everyone please flag ozzie for comment 2.9 so that the comment will be removed and maybe he will as well? Thanks, friends!
Merry Christmas, ozzie!
Can't handle the truth can alaska? Quit begging Alaska there is nothing wrong with that comment.
And, this comment as well. No value. Personal attacks. All violations of the COH rules.
ak-girl -- how many people would you like to fire with your proposed defense cuts?
why should health care and social security -- the two largest
budget(oops we dont have a budget) spending categories not be considered? Also reported him as a re-reg of the banned "Ozzie-Boy", you should too...
You guy's are hilarious!
Alaska Girl,
I flagged ozzie for comment 2.9
Did you also go tell mama too? Typical libby response, can't argue logic so resort to silencing the opposition.
I see... Freedom of speach, unless you disagree with what is said. Then get rid of the words, and the speaker as well....
Hey, Jimbo-1227844
Yeah...we also have the freedom to take action against uncivic behavior of ozzie, too.
U R kidding ....jumbo.. if you think that freedom only means ozzie can use character assassination, but we can't take action defending ourselves.
Freedom is a two-way street...better think twice before you post.
Time to go here in God's country so you all can play amongst yourselves! Peace!
Jimbo, there is a code of honor that we all agree to when posting. Re-regging violates that as do personal attacks.
Flagged, Alaska Girl :)
what an effing coward. you're lucky tyler and sally dont regulate FR or you'd be up shlt creek without a paddle Red Dawn.
Lameton, dont you find it hypocritical after all you seem to call me some idiotic name just yesterday? pathetic you libs are with your holier than thou attitudes. Simply sub human
Flag me and ban me too because I am going to say it again; liberals are the most hypocritical people in the world. 99% of what everyone of you who reported him post fits into exactly what you reported him for. You attack other posters and most of what you post is so valuable such as:
The Bratwurst King strikes again...
Ol blue eyes has been eerily silent since he got his ass kicked in November! lol or
That dud is so overrated. Someone, anyone, bitch slap the boy and bring him back to earth.
Such substance! Such genius and of so much value to the discussion!
Ummm... little buddy,
Where did I "attack" another poster in my comments?
My ire was directed at the ex-V/P candidate Eddie Munster!
Reading is FUN-demental my friend! ;o)
Mike and in libtardia they believe none of that violates this arbitrary Code of Honor (oxymoronic here).
What...??
mikeinoregon..u r hurt by the above comments? are you sure? R U a member of the politburo where Ryan is chairman? Then I understand.
well, if calling someone a name would get you banned, Seeking Sanity would have been banned a LONG time ago, just check out his/her recent posts...
Banning seems like something you would talk about in USSR, not in America, btw.
hey Red Dawn he never said in this particular moment you attacked any posters dolt, however the 'value' of your posts is there for all to see. Reading is FUNdamental indeed
Say, billybob- as my friends on this site know well, my job, and the jobs of pretty much everybody in my whole region depend on defence spending. If there aren't any fast grey ships fulla stuff that goes 'BANG' needing to be fixed- we don't have jobs. Simple as that.
Counter-question for yez, billybob; at what point did the Department of Defense become a federal jobs program? I thought that the Pentagon was charged with keeping us safe, and the civilian Secretaries were charged with making sure our money was spent wisely. Are you suggesting that defence cuts are out of the question because people will get laid off?
See, young feller, it's like this: Money spent for defence- or for Imperial projects, let's be honest- is pretty much a dead end. Yes, lots of people are employed thereby, but the end result does not add value to the economy! (Although anybody who's been there can tell you that the American taxpayer has added TONS of value to the Afghan and Iraqi economies, albeit at the expense of America's needs at home.)
On the other hand, Social Security and Medicare are programs that, for many people, are neccessary for life. In addition, SS is a retirement program, a contract; every American worker pays into it, and most important: Social Security is self- supporting. It does not add a dime to the deficit!
Look, the hard truth is that the bill has finally come due for three solid decades of reckless, irresponsible, buy-now-pay-someday fiscal policies. The alleged party of financial responsibilty has driven this country, and by proximity the entire world, to the very brink of utter ruin and destitution. Along the way to fixing this mess, Sunshine, somebody is gonna get hurt.
Liberals happen to believe that we shouldn't put all of the pain or all of the sacrifices on the weakest and most vulnerable just because, well, just because they're vulnerable and weak.
Does it include threats?
jimb...just don't post something to make you look like an arse
it's ok .. if a pig like me posts something, and you read it and jump up calling me 'a pig,' you have just been fair to me.
"And, this comment as well. No value. Personal attacks. All violations of the COH rules."
No I'm not hurt, I could care less what any of you say about me or anyone else. I just have to call out pure hypocrisy when I see it.
so trotsky -- a couple of things first: "defence" suggests you were raised on the queen's english; i will take your "young feller" remark as one of endearment rather than one of derision; and "sunshine" is something though i am not sure what.
i do not believe that dod is a jobs program and not sure why you attribute that to my comment. it is simply a fact that cutting defense will weaken our countries ability to defend ourselves. it is one of the highest responsibilities of our federal government and is enshrined in the constitution. resulting job losses will further burden our struggling economy which has no real indication of growing in the next several years of excess spending.
i would most certainly disagree that defense spending does not add to the economy. i believe it is one of the strongest contributors to the economy.
i think your thoughts on ss are a bit off. not everyone pays into ss, teachers for example. it is not a self sustaining program. at the current rate of payers and beneficiaries money begins to run out in the next 25 years or so; something has to be done or today's payers get screwed when they become beneficiaries.
medicare is also unsustainable and is aggravated by the aca. our great country will go bankrupt because of these programs.
i absolutely disagree that responsibility for our dire financial situation is because of the actions of a single party. that is exceptionally naive.
i do agree that there will be pain. unfortunately some think the burden should be borne by only a segment of the population that has achieved a degree of success as measured by monetary wealth.
nothing -- nothing -- should be off the table. life expectancy continues to increase making some of the age dependent items outdated. and we probably don't need all of the B-52 bombers.
we do need safety nets of social programs but i do not believe that we should live in a nanny-state where the government takes care of all one's needs.
Get over yourself. You're not that important or shocking or nerve rattling. In other words, you have nothing that hasn't been said a thousand times before. Sorry to burst your bubble.
Weaser Augustus ...
Since I've become Lameton to you, you are Weaser Augustus to me. I can't believe you forgot that from yesterday .... but then again, so many posts, so little time to think between them . . .
ozzieyo1-7277359
ozzie, Step out of your cave
Lil Michelle - how sad that you are so fixated on me. Clearly you need a life. Let's see, you ignore the continued rants of jim-...., notevenremotelyfunnygirl, Ceasar (I'm sure he's still calling people names, just have him on ignore) and fixate on me. Can we say HYPOCRITE? Or is that word too big for you to understand?
Let's see, so Ryan is jumping on the bandwagon with Boehner. I'm pretty sure that kills any bill Boehner puts forward. Did Ryan jog all the way to the House from Wisconsin? I'm sure he did it in less than 2 hours!
So, again, am I just NOT getting it? Boehner is in charge of the GOP conference and is in control of how they vote? Good Lord - don't the American People as constituents have a say in ANYTHING?
Good question now can we get that nose ring of the Presidents out of Harry's nose please?
And maybe we can get Grover's bath-ring out of the GOP tub. Please?
And maybe that union @!$%# stain out of the presidents shorts?
The Union would stand stronger if you were not so much of a stain upon it.
Well, Layton, it's been perfectly clear for several years now that the Republicans in the House pay only a nod-and-a-wink to the wishes of the masses; their decisions are made, and their minds made up, by Pope Grover and the Tea Party Politburo.*
I suppose in a way, it's good that they have abandoned all pretense of working for the best interests of the voters of their districts, as their behaviour and public, on-the-record statements have given the lie to such an outmoded and obsolete notion anyway. Representatives who represent the voters- what a perfectly ludicrous idea!
On the other hand, we have the spectacle of over three hundred elected legislators who have been making it very clear, especially the last two years, that they don't give a damn for anybody's best interests but those of the millionaire Leisure Class whose ranks they aspire to join... and yet their so-called "constituents" keep reelecting them.
That is indeed a frightening comment on the state of American politics. Somebody get me a hogleg and a very large glass of anything 40 proof or worse.
*Yes, I used that word in the hope that it would piss some of them off, and because it evokes sclerotic, geriatric but totalitarian bureaucracy.
Excellent post, Fox.
lay -- Americans elected a majority of republicans to the house in 2010 after the disaster that was pelosi and affirmed that majority just a few short weeks ago.
when you have a two-party system someone will always be seen as obstructionists. today the democrats use that word to describe republicans. it won't be long before the democrats will be called obstructionists. we have the best system in the world and attempts to drown out or censor those with whom you disagree is sad.
trotsky -- class warfare is still alive and well. it may be time to get over the envy, it is very unbecoming.
Yes, it is- I couldn't agree with you more!
It's extremely unbecoming for people who have never missed a meal, sweated the rent, or juggled bills in order to have enough money for gasoline or diapers to blame America's financial problems on "The Poor", or "Welfare Leeches", or "Moochers"!
Class warfare- you only call it that when the Productive Class fights back. Right?
right comrade Trotsky because all of the poor are the way they are because of the evil corporate syndicate, run by rich white men mind you. Nah none of them look at welfare as a way of life, no way, especially those that have a generational welfare mentality. no siree bob, no way.
oh trotsky -- rather sanctimonious of you. i have worked for a company where the founder covered payroll by mortgaging his home. he went on to take the company public and enjoyed some significant benefits. i worried greatly about making my $255 mortgage payment back in the 70s while working construction, going to school evenings and providing for a family. the hard work paid off.
if you prefer class envy that is fine but do not condemn millions of people simply because you have a different view.
billybob, you think that obstructionists are the norm and only the party changes? Take a look at this graph; a history of Senate filibusters. Republicans have set a record that will never be challenged.
http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/wonkblog/post/the-history-of-the-filibuster-in-one-graph/2012/05/15/gIQAVHf0RU_blog.html
billybob, really- who exactly are you responding to? It appears to me that you're just grabbing phrases out of the "Basic Manual of Right-Wing Cant" and applying them at random, and I just happened to be in the way. To wit:
"it may be time to get over the envy"- there was nothing, nothing at all, in my previous post to indicate envy, or class conciousness either. You appear to be winging non sequiturs at the stars and wherever they land, you call that the target. Example:
"if you prefer class envy that is fine but do not condemn millions of people simply because you have a different view."
Again- dude, to whom are you addressing this? A different view of what? The tale of your benevolent, kindly founding father figure is quite touching, this being Christmastime and all, but how is it in any wise relevant to my comments about Republican legislators who seem to believe that they owe their loyalty to a lobbyist who has never held elective office, rather than to the taxpayers of their districts?
I'll take you at your word that "the hard work paid off." Bully for you! Call me back when you're feeling a little more coherent, what?
billybob - to compare today's Republicans with past parties (both) is totally unreal. Never before has a party gotten together and vowed to block EVERYTHING a President worked to do for the country - no matter what it was - like the Republicans in the House today. If you don't think that is being obstructionist, then perhaps you need to go back to school - or at least find a really good dictionary!
And class warfare is what Repubicans are practicing. I am soooo tired of people saying liberals hate rich people. Many liberals ARE rich! The ignorance of anyone who makes the "hating rich" claim totally incomprehensible.
Oh, well, as long as the weenie, Paul Ryan supports it...what more needs to be said!?
That dud is so overrated. Someone, anyone, bitch slap the boy and bring him back to earth.
alaska -- your vitriol is disgusting -- a better name for you may be ak47
I've been wondering whether Ryan and his family will stage a faux event at a charity for Christmas. He's probably too busy stabbing Boehner in the back and planning his 2016 campaign to get around to it.
Has politics always been this ugly?
No, we used to have more swordplay. Now we have penplay instead ... takes forever to write someone to death.
BCWC ....
Girl, you are in FINE form today!
The short answer is pretty much YES, though this is a bit hotter than usual. Started heating up when Bush Sr was in office and the DEMs hated him. It has continued and grown through Clinton and Bush Jr and it is now the GOP who hates the current administration. It was a lot more respectable and respectful back around the Ford, Carter, Reagan era. Judging from some historical info though it was pretty hot and personal in the late 50's throught the 60's though too. It goes in cycles.
BCWC is spot on. Duing the country's earlier decades, some of our polititians fought duels to the death. With swords and pistols both. Alexander Hamilton comes to mind. I also recall reading of a local election in Louisiana which was settled with a knife fight, a few nights before the vote. Perhaps modern politics aren't quite as ugly as they seem.
actually George Washington, as president, was labeled a 'British spy' by the Jeffersonians - or more specifically by Philadelphia Aurora of Benjamin Franklin Bache.
In addition to Hamilton, Andrew Jackson had a bullet lodged close to his heart the rest of his life after a duel. Doctors didn't want to take any chances.
P.S.: Before being tried under the Alien and Sedition Act, Bache - grandson of Ben Franklin - died in 1798 at the age of 29 from yellow fever during an epidemic.
"Richie Rich Ryan" is all for "Bonehead Beohner's" Plan B. This is not shocking at all! "Bonehead Boehner's" Plan B? Is really little "Richie Rich Ryan's" Economic Plan. Carefully read "Bonehead Boehner's" so-called Plan B. Then go back and research the little "Richie Rich Ryan" Plan. The basic elements are the very same, and little "Richie Rich Ryan" is laughing in a quietroom somewhere. "Bonehead Boehner" is just a very simple minded individual with no concepts of originality. That is fact!
If the American people had wanted Ryan's economic plan, they would have voted Romney for president. But, they didn't; so who really cares what Ryan has to say? I guess Boehner can rest easier knowing that Ryan supports him.
bcwc: loved the pen comment!
thetotas---John Quincy Adams' people spread such malicious things about Andrew Jackson's wife that Jackson blamed them for her death....things are relatively mild these days.
Paul Ryan. Taking time off from driving the weeniemobile to impersonate Sarah Palin; "Look at me, I'm relevant!!!"
That's funny a Dick (that is what your friends call you right) calling Paul Ryan's transportation a weenie. Hilarious! What just trying to make yourself relevant?
For those who want Social Security cut, how many years have you paid your own money into the SS account? I had over 40 years of my money paid into it. Give me a lump sum payment back of the difference between what I paid in and what I have received.
As for Medicare, when a hospital charges $24,000 for my wife's 30-hour stay for a routine appendectomy, Medicare isn't the problem; it's the health insurance/medical provider complex that is the problem. Almost as bad as the military/industrial complex that Ike warned everyone about over fifty years ago.
All the Republicans are doing with the so-called Plan B is beating their chests. The lopsided sacrifice required of the middle class in Plan B isn't going to fly, no matter how many failed and humiliated vice-presidential candidates endorse it.
If Ryan is for "Plan B" it doesn't bode well for the middle class. All the more reason to veto it. Boener needs to go back to "Plan A" which he and the President were working on and getting close on.
It's time for the minority to stop screwing over the majority. If they ever come back into power(yeah, right) again they can screw us over on the up and up. This is just the minority holding the country hostage.
2014, let's take out more of the tea trash.
Ryan's a good, partisan soldier. He fell in line behind Bush. He fell in line behind Romney. He's falling in line behind Boehner. I guess he's "leading from behind", right Teapublicans?
Polarized as we all are, can we chill out on name calling and tow the line BS?
I don't agree with this "plan B" at all. That said, it is the plan Nancy Pelosi herself proposed last May. We finally get both sides to agree on something and GOP backers say it goes to far and liberals are saying the Repubicans are stalling progress. All a bunch of fools.
In the meantime, no matter what happens it isnt gonna be good at all. I suggest reading "The Forgotten Man" by Amity Shales. Get ready for 1937 all over again. It isnt gonna be pretty people.
Seriously Folks, does anyone think Lyin' Ryan would say anything else. Remember folks these people are looking to get Rid of the Orange Man when they feel he is truly no longer useful. Cantor is nipping at his Job, and Ryan also eventually.
Ryan would say anything now to support Boehner after Boehner gave him his Committee Chair back AFTER THAT SPECTACULAR LOST OF THE ELECTION and his ACTUAL DRAG ON THE TICKET, and the Voters told him to take his "Budge Plan" and SHOVE IT. So for now he will be Boehner's "Me Too" Guy.
Paul Ryan is the budget brain of the GOP. God help us.
GOP Plans -- Lets See Plan A & Now Plan B -- Thank God There Are Only 24 More Letters Left In The Alphabet And Maybe By Say December 2013 Or 2014 We Will Make It! Nope -- The GOP Will Switch To Numbers By Then! What Progress!
The GOPs Way Of Addressing An Issue Is To Change The Issue That Was Being Addressed!
2014 & 2016 Is One Day Closer My Friends At The GOP!
NRA -- GOP -- SOB -- We Are A Third World Country -- Armed With Disfunctionals!
Some People Call It The "John" Others Call It The "Out House" Well "John" You Are In Deed The Speaker Of The "Out House"!
Bye Bye John!
Understand the world is all about compromise, We need revenue, we need expense cuts. But what we need is a CEO capable of driving real discussion and compromise. We do not have that leadership in the Whitehouse. Sorry. but action and success starts at the top!
Revenue and expense cuts are exactly what we get if we go over the fiscal speedbump. I so hope Obama is just playing with the Republicans, and will veto anything they like well enough to pass. If his plan all along were to just let it happen, then begin on building the economy from there, my opinion of him would soar.
Realistic - too bad you aren't. We have very good leadership in the White House - heads above the 8 years before Obama became Preisdent. And, if the GOP wasn't intent on bowing down to the top 1%ers and actually gave a damn about the country, we'd get things moving forward faster.
Lyin Ryan is still around? I thought he crawled back under the rock he lives under? Will we have to put up with more lies from him, now? Hope not! I had more than enough from him during the campaign! But of course he would back Plan-B! A moron will always back a moron! Proof? Ryan backed Rummey, didn't he???
The Pres. needs to keep his, and the GOTP's hands off S.S.I., that is not an entitlement!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Why don't they go for the biggest waste of money? You know, the Defense Dept.???
Herman trying to lurch to the forefront--give it up Ryan your utterances completely irrelevant--work for the good of the Country, leave Ayn Rand at the door and maybe we will get something done.
Will be interesting to watch the GOP'ers implode after Boehner submits his nonsensical Plan "B", when is the vote scheduled?
I dont think many people give a crap about what Ryan does or doesnt do!! After all, he wants people to pay for this fiscal mess when they had NOTHING to do with it! The GOP and their supporters created this disaster.
Let THEM figure out a way to pay for it without involving those who had nothing to do with creating it!! As far as Im concerned, they can run up the tax rates on the wealthy up to 50% until the debt is paid!
