If the NRA wants to put police in schools let the NRA pay for it. How about making gun dealers and gun manufacturers responsible for the medical cost of people who get shot with guns. The NRA only has power in the war on words its the gun manufacturers that can do something about the violence. The only way they should allow guns in schools is if the students are also allowed to carry guns.

When you have gun free zones you just put a sign up - easy target. The intent was good when they made these laws but the result is devastating as we have seen over the past ten years or so. Criminals are cowards they always go after the easy target. Open carry is a viable solution that is free to the tax payer and state.

After being assaulted by a stranger, who seemed to have mental problems, I have notice that there seems to be more people acting very strangely out in public. With less & less money going to mental health, I blame society for their actions, they should be under a doctor's care or committed to a hospital, so that they do no harm to themselves or others.

Our country has become spoiled and tarnished because of lack of regulations to support the spirit of the Bill of Rights and the Constitution. I think that we have cleaved to a hysterical stance on clinging to guns in the aftermath of World War II just as Israel has cleaved to a hysterical stance on cleaving to land after their near annihilation in Europe.

Let’s face it: Our manufacturing capacity jelled us into becoming the white knight to save the world against Hitler and the Nazi consciousness. We created the atomic bomb. We didn’t have to use it against the Nazis. Some say we didn’t have to use it against Japan, the home of the Samurai that kicked the Mongols butt on Japanese shores. I’m not interested in debating that point; I just want to point out that many scientists were against using the bomb because it would be like opening up Pandora’s Box. How do you contain such a destructive weapon? We still have that problem now. And with it, is an anxiety that amounts to almost hysteria when it comes to regulating guns. It is a Pandora’s Box in itself because of the ridiculous lapse of any sane regulation.

I want to focus on is our country’s attitude toward armaments and their capacity to destroy life. We really need to calm down and look at what we are allowing and look at the consequences to such inaction.

Australia’s moment of truth happened after a massacre of 35 people happened in 1996. People were galvanized to protect their community. Essentially the reforms called for an applicant to demonstrate justifiable need to have a weapon. A farmer might need a rifle to “control” animal populations and a sportsman might be a hunter. Automatic and semi-automatic weapons were prohibited and strict licensing rules were implemented for mandatory background checks and lengthy waiting periods. Tim Fischer, the deputy prime minister at the time said

“We too value freedom. But that’s not the freedom to own machine guns in the main streets of the U. S. of A. the facts are you are 15 times more likely to be shot dead per capita in the U.S. A. than here in Australia.”

At the heart of the reform was a buy-back program whereupon 600,000 guns were obtained. Roland Browne of Gun Control Australia said that “Our governments have the pre-eminent responsibility to ensure public safety.”

First Amendment Abuses in the United States include non-regulation concerning violent video games including games where the shooter shoots kindergarten kids. Really, since this is allowed, one has to ask if anyone sane is present in that jurisdiction. Canada banned teenage mutant ninja turtles when their school playgrounds erupted in violence. Now we have video games that are clearly addictive like cigarettes. Remember how much fun it was to just be able to breathe smoke free air on a plane? Now we have kids that are video addicts. There are movies that go way over the line of civilized entertainment: the chain saw massacres and other movies glorifying dismemberment are abominable and not fit for a healthy society… or any society for that matter.

First Amendment abuses include KKK and neo-Nazi rallies. We’ve been down that hell before. Such practices are against the fabric of our country which acknowledges and supports the dignity and equality of everyone. Period. End of story. These ridiculous parades just drum up violence. And no, it is not alright using abusive speech shredding someone’s ethnic or religious background. Such speech is the fruit of intolerance and intolerance leads to war. At some point, and I say the point is now; we should grow up and treat each other with respect. We can agree to disagree and we can use heavy language to describe abhorrent practices but sliding down to categorizing people carte blanche in hate terms is inaccurate, prejudicial, and wrong and causes more damage to all concerned. The idiocy of lumping all democrats or all republicans into stereotypical superficial shells is as stupid as lumping all Muslims and all Christians into their designated stereotypes as well. The truth is that there are many individuals in all walks of life and there are others that allow themselves to live and be treated like cattle. Awareness is the key and it is awareness, wisdom and love that will ultimately save us. I recommend we start living more responsibly with an awareness and respect for getting things done justly and for the common good.

Second Amendment Abuses include the neglect of implementing background checks and requiring a safety gun class for owning a firearm as well as allowing ridiculously dangerous automatic and semi-automatic guns into the general populace. Unlike Australia, I do believe that owning a firearm to protect one’s self at home is justified. One home: one gun. You don’t need four.

The final abuse is an abuse of the oath of office some of our senators and congressman made when they pledged to Norquist’s demand to not raise taxes that effectively evaded their duties to engage while in office and has lately made the government dysfunctional. Fire them. They are the “domestic enemies” the constitution refers to since the allegiance they’ve given to a man trumps the oath of office they took for our country. They do not work for us. They work for someone else. They should be fired, according to the Constitution, and not hold a federal position ever again at the least. At the most, they could be shot… because their allegiance, by definition of evading duties, which of course includes raising taxes to ensure a functioning federal government, is treason. The oath of office comes first. Not Norquist. Norquist should be tried for treason. And found guilty. Because he is of the elite, he should not be tried with kid gloves. These so-called representatives yield immense power. Yet they are answerable to the Constitution; they are answerable to us as surely we are answerable to them. It is the law of balance. It is justice. Let justice prevail.

And let balance and good will lead us home again. We are a great country. We need to come together and work our challenges out.

The danger to America is not Barack Obama, but a citizenry capable of entrusting a man like him with the Presidency. It will be far easier to limit and undo the follies of an Obama presidency than to restore the necessary common sense and good judgment to a depraved electorate willing to have such a man for their president. The problem is much deeper and far more serious than Mr. Obama, who is a mere symptom of what ails America . Blaming the prince of the fools should not blind anyone to the vast confederacy of fools that made him their prince. The Republic can survive a Barack Obama, who is, after all, 'merely a fool'. It is far less likely to survive a multitude of fools, such as those who made him their President.

Our liberties our Constitution is under attack and a inner war was declared on this country with the beginning of the Federal Reserve. This war has been expanded to include the Patriot Act ( signed into law by Bush) S1867 (signed into law by Obama) and now it looks like our leaders want to make sure that its citizens cannot defend itself from the government.

Our forefathers warned against this and set up the Constitution to protect Americans from a tyrannical government. Wake up people and watch how our two party one agenda system tries to pull this one off.

The bottom line is as long as people allow the government to frame their options within a two party system the problems in our country will continue to get worse. The deconstruction of our Constitution and liberties will continue as long as the American people vote for corruption and greed within the current government structure which some call the Corporatocracy.

I do not know how to access President Obama or Vice President Joe Biden, I am neither an American nor a resident, or a firearm owner. In fact I am a national and resident of the small English-speaking Caribbean Island called Dominica, the Nature Island of the world. So I may be seen as an 'outsider' and that makes me neutral and objective. Here is a suggestion for thought….and development.

There is no doubt that technology has come a long way from the time the first gun was made many eons ago. Consider this. I am of the view that every gun out there should or must have an owner, so why not make each gun have its personal owner; the only one who can trigger (fire) that weapon, no matter what type or size? What this means is using technology to encode the owner onto that weapon. It may be as simple as a trigger finger recognition (finger print); or maybe a palm print recognized by the handle of the weapon. The
weapon would not be fire by anyone else! Every new gun purchased would have to be one-time encoded to the owner, either by the manufacturer or dealer? If the owner wants to sell his weapon it has to be done through the vendor (or manufacturer) where it may be encoded again to a new owner.

How do we get the millions of guns out there encoded? Fair question. I do not know how initial and annual firearm licensing works - but consider all legal firearm owners are compliant and happily turn in their weapon as part of an instant voluntary approach, and/or as part of the annual licensing process, to have their firearms modified and personally ‘encoded’.

It is my belief that in the long term this has the potential to significantly reduce the incidence of gun violence in the US for a start, and by extension perhaps the world. I acknowledge that illegal guns remain a challenge that will require different ‘treatment’.

I am sure many questions come to mind, and I am pretty sure we can find good answers. My suggest may be modified to fit after further thought and must be complimented by other measures.

Most of you won't like this post, but if our President and all of the Gun haters clamoring for a safer society are really serious about saving American lives, you only need to check out, alcohol related deaths in America. The last count was over 75,000 deaths in one year, just in America. Thats equals out to about 207 people a day, 10 times the number of people killed in Conn. and that happens every single day of the year. We have laws against minors drinking, do you think it stops high school or underage college kids. We have laws against drunk driving, very strict laws, has that stopped DUI's? You won't hear the Media bringing this up because the alcohol industry buys most of their Ad time, which accounts for most of their salaries. You won't hear Obama bring it up because he likes to drink, so he's supporting an industry thats killing Americans at almost 5 times th rate of any gun violence. We have all these laws in place for alcohol abuse. Do you think if we restricted people to one six pack a week would make any difference? Maybe if we reduced the alcohol % to 3%. After all why do we need 90 proof whiskey? Don't start trying to force your left wing Socialist agenda on my constitutional rights, unless your willing to attack a much greater threat to Americans. You claim guns don't have any good purpose. Name me one thing alcohol is good for.

It is obvious that this is going to take some time and should be open to creative thought. The thoughts at this time is how to control the entrance to the schools. Have one dedicated entry point with metal detectors and cameras, all other doors could have radio controlled locks that allowed people to exit but not allow them to enter without authorization. These are only a few thoughts, the safety of our children should be a priority in our schools. How about the security company's entering in on this national problem.

Being Christian is about following the Bible, the teachings of Jesus, and following his example as much as humanly possible. That being said, true Christians know that human beings are imperfect at best and flawed and cannot possibly be like Jesus, who was the only perfect being to walk the Earth. Although we should try, we cannot and that is why there are laws of the land. The laws of the land are numerous, but if you take them down to their core or their essence you will find the "Ten Commandments". This is because the founding fathers were God fearing and obedient to God and they (when they wrote the Constitution of the United States) tried to establish as much freedom for the next generations as possible with a Government that was to be established, knowing that if the power of the Governing body were to ever get overwhelming and oppressive towards the people, that they would have alternatives to total oppression like they had with England. The Bible states that you "give to God what is God's and to Ceasar what is Ceasar's" meaning that you follow God's laws and then you follow The laws of the land. The laws of the land are just rules but because people (with all of their flaws) are always trying to get around the laws and break the rules, new ones must be made and enforced. But somewhere in there with all the laws and rules and Governmental mandates all the good people of the world should not leave themselves open to allowing the freedoms they hold dear to be taken away just because someone else says they should to fit that persons needs. Guns are tools made by man and you are right they are for killing, but they were first designed for survival. It was MAN that took the first gun and killed another man with it. But it wasn't the first tool used for killing, that may have been a rock or a stick or maybe the person used his bare hands (I say his bare hands, because the first killing was documented in the Bible, Cain Killed Able) way before the first gun was ever concieved...see the connection? Gun laws are necessary for public safety I do agree with that, but so is enforcing the laws of the land that pertain to man breaking man's laws let alone God's laws. Until that is done we will always have the next tool taken and used improperly. More people have been killed with bombs, knives, spears, swords, poison and even hammer-like implements than with guns through history. Guns as we know them weren't invented until the late 16th and early 17th century so the question is and always will be "where do we go from here?"
