Pelosi on Hillary Clinton for president in 2016: 'I hope she goes'

Rep. Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., shares her thoughts the mass shooting in Newtown and the fiscal cliff negotiations on Capitol Hill.

Hillary Clinton’s possible 2016 bid for the presidency won one high-profile supporter Tuesday in House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif.

Pelosi said during an interview with NBC’s Andrea Mitchell that she hoped Clinton – who will retire soon from her job as secretary of state – would make another bid for the presidency in four years.

“Wouldn’t that be exiting?” Pelosi said. “I hope she goes – why wouldn’t she?”

“She could be president of the United States, and she would be great,” added Pelosi, who was speaker of the House and stayed neutral during the 2008 primary between Clinton and Barack Obama. “And if she decided to run, I think she would win. She would go into the White House as well prepared, or better prepared, than almost anybody who has served in that office in a very long time.”

Evita in 2116(one hundred four years from now ) for president. She can't look any worst and they will both still be alive and ready to run.In the mean time,we need someone who knows how to cut speding not keep spending like we have been for the last 12 years. Some folks will be hurt but ,we as a country, will be stronger. We spend too much on entitlements. One example! Food stamps have gone from 7 million people on them to 42 million people on them,in 4 years. There are no hungery folks in america.Every child is fed at home, gets free and quality education if permitted to by their parents, has a warm house to live in and has utilties ,my mother would have died for.But with all that,we still find it neccessary to feed children at school ,two meals a day.Are we not providing food at home? Then why must we provide two meals at school. One should stop.Is this asking too much of people who walk around with their hand out.I saw some reality show last night on tv.The person,a drug addict, was given a government debit card to feed her and her one year old baby. She looked up how much remaining was on the card. The card had $9.36 left to use.She immediately went to a local convenient store and bought 4 tall beers and walked into the woods, with a friend and drank them. How many millions of times is this repeated every day.I know ,many times I've been grocery shopping and a pod of Mexican illegals are in line, in front of me.The mother buys around $100 in groceries and pays for it with a government dbt card.Behind her is her old man and behind him is their son.The son is pushing a cart full of beer and the bottom shelves full of ice.He pays cash for the beer wich is generally around $60-70 .They leave together and get into a car better than the one i'm driving. If they ,the needy, can spend $60 per week(just one day) on beer, than we don't need to give them food stamps!

Can we not begin campaigning for 2016? We've just had a long, long election season and there's real work to be done in Washington. Put 2016 on the back burner for a couple of years.

True, many old "faces" starting to show themselves again, as snarky as ever, still demanding birth certificates and SAT scores. Gotta love the internet.

As it stands now, the Constitution does not allow for a woman president. I say this because just as the drafters (who were all men) only gave men the right to vote it is clear that they also intended that only a man could be president. This is shown by Sections 1, 2 and 3 of Article II which make it clear, by the use (twenty times) of the masculine pronouns, “he” and “his”, that the drafters wanted only a man to be president. Another point supporting this conclusion is who among the drafters would have thought that a woman could/should be Commander in Chief of the Army and Navy of the United States?

So, just as it took a Constitutional amendment to give women the right to vote so too will it take another one to give Hillary Clinton and other women the right to serve as president.

So Hillary was wasting her time in the previous primaries of 2008? And if Hillary were ever elected by popular vote, James Crary would have to be called in to explain why Hillary could NOT be sworn in?

Baffling, just baffling. One would have thought all of those anti discrimination laws might have actually applied to the Law.

                Silly James, just silly.

"In the four years since the inspectors left,
intelligence reports show that Saddam Hussein has worked to rebuild his chemical
and biological weapons stock, his missile delivery capability, and his nuclear
program. He has also given aid, comfort, and sanctuary to terrorists, including
al Qaeda members ... It is clear, however, that if left unchecked, Saddam
Hussein will continue to increase his capacity to wage biological and chemical
warfare, and will keep trying to develop nuclear weapons."

"Stop it!"; to borrow a phrase from Ann Romney. I adore Hillary Clinton. She is more than capable of being POTUS. Right now. But her window was in 2004 or 2008. If we learned nothing from the past 4 years it is this. Young people of America have moved decisively on to generation X and Y leadership. AND THANK GOD IT HAS! End of story. If we Democrats turn the pages backwards, and dance at the altar of retired Baby Boomers again in 2016, the GOP will annihilate them with a youthful ticket of reformed liars like Ryan/Rubio; Ryan/MacDonald; Ryan/Jindal; Ryan/Haley; or any number of younger GOP governors.

Romney's and McCain's drubbing by the electorate was as much about a generational XY tidal wave as anything else. President Obama was that game changer. Just like President Kennedy was for Baby Boomers. Democrats better take note and not attempt to turn the clock backwards by leaping past the ascendance of Generation X for a burned out Baby Boomer!

I know Hillary sounds good right now. But Republicans actually hope Democrats do this. It is their best case scenario for a return to the throne. Democrats better be thinking more about Tim Kaine, Chris Van Hoellen, Charlie Christ if he wins the Gubernatorial race in Florida as a Democrat in 2014. Democrats have several attractive female candidates like Claire McCaskill who would be terrific as a VP candidate on the ticket too.

Hillary may be fated more to be the wiser, older, charismatic VP selection to a much younger Presidential choice like Sherrod Brown or Tim Kaine. The ladies day will come very soon. And it may even be in 2016. If Hillary runs and wins the nomination, I will support her with every fiber of my being. But I think she would lose for the aforementioned reasons. Democrats better tread very carefully on this one. Don't prematurely annoint someone who could get clobbered over her age and generational optics. Becoming the first Female VP could really swing that door wide open for the first female President if Hillary chooses to go that route.

The XY generation - who support pot, can't hold a job and still live with mommy and daddy picking our next President?

This is EXACTLY what is wrong with America today - need to raise the voting age to 25+.

These people aren't capable of making an intelligent decision about where to eat dinner at night, I sure as hell don't want them being able to decide who is running the country.

The XY generation is the most useless generation we've had to date.
