Pelosi on Hillary Clinton for president in 2016: 'I hope she goes'

Rep. Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., shares her thoughts the mass shooting in Newtown and the fiscal cliff negotiations on Capitol Hill.

Hillary Clinton’s possible 2016 bid for the presidency won one high-profile supporter Tuesday in House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif.

Pelosi said during an interview with NBC’s Andrea Mitchell that she hoped Clinton – who will retire soon from her job as secretary of state – would make another bid for the presidency in four years.

“Wouldn’t that be exiting?” Pelosi said. “I hope she goes – why wouldn’t she?”

“She could be president of the United States, and she would be great,” added Pelosi, who was speaker of the House and stayed neutral during the 2008 primary between Clinton and Barack Obama. “And if she decided to run, I think she would win. She would go into the White House as well prepared, or better prepared, than almost anybody who has served in that office in a very long time.”

Hillary doesn't stand a chance of becoming the first woman president in 2016.

After all, the republicons will have the likes of Michele Bachmann or Sarah Palin to run against her.

Not the Republicans won't find and/or create drama in some form or fashion, but Clinton really does pose a nasty challenge to anyone running

1) Being a Gov - Clinton was a Senator - highly regarded, hard worker

2) Having Executive experience - doesn't get much more Executive than SoS

3) Domestic recognition

4) Foreign recognition

5) Money

6) Broad base / critical demographics in her column

7) Bill Clinton

8) 4 years run up

9) fierce Primary experience

10) On paper, one of the most, if not the most decorated public figures to run for the Presidency

11) History

Those are just things off the cuff and not in that particular order. Love her or hate her, the girl is bad and brings some heavy credentials to the table if she so chooses.

Be afraid, Arthur, be very afraid. If Hillary decides to run, Republicans won't stand a snowball's chance in hell of putting anyone up against her(I mean, really, look at the party members that could be considered! Crazies!) that might even have a snowflake of a chance. Sorry, it's a winter wonderland here so I am using snow analogy!

Hillary 2016! ONWARD!

Yep, the self proclaimed "Modern Day Progressive" Mrs. Clinton's resume is really exciting:

  • Whitewater
  • Throwing a Bollywood supporter under the bus
  • Giving Haiti reflief funding to her husband's International Group and the Haitians are still living in tents
  • Failure to provide answers as to why she selected her current Chief of Staff with ties to the Muslim Brotherhood
  • Lack of appearing before a Congressional hearing concerning Benghazi, where SHE failed to provide adequate support which resulted in the loss of American lives, claiming a medical problem which would eliminate her from any Presidential contention

Yep, I can see Mrs. Clinton getting that 2:00 a.m. phone call, saying she is too tired to answer, and turn it over to the U.N. Ambassador to answer.

Hillary Clinton already made the statement within the last few weeks that she had no desire to run for a presidential bid again, yet people are pushing her. People also need to consider that she has a history of getting ill when she pushes herself too much (which has come to light this last week with her fainting and resulting concussion when she fell). I don't think anyone will see her in a political office again, per her choice, aside from appearances here and there to support her party.

Jason797....

Heck, I could have been in Mr. Obama's shoes as a Senator: all I would have to do during Congressional floor voting is say "PRESENT".

Then as President, have my special interest friends (especially SEIU and Health Care agencies) write my legislation and Executive Orders and my Progressive Cabinet members rewrite regulations to meet my agenda since I could not LEAD those rowdy Congressional representatives and can't get anything done in D.C. (per Mr. Obama).

Shucks, I would probably find time to park Air Force 1 and Marine 1 occasionally for routine maintenance. And, I would continue those Wednesday and star studded weekend parties at the White House.

truth speaker: Community organizers have nothing to do with communism. Communism is basically a dictatorship with equally distributed wealth amongst the mass with a concentration of wealth to its leader. Well that is what it has turned into because of greed but it was not meant to be that way. Community organizers rally for causes like womens suffarage and civil rights. Many organizers had to come together for causes that have produced wonderful outcomes, that is unless you don't support the civil rights movenment. You have your own issues if that is the case. Also they aid low income people in finding homes. Thats bad? hmmm last time i checked we live in the wealthiest nation in the world there is no excuse for people to be on the streets. What exactly is wrong with helping the poor? They mobilize people around a cause as simple as recycling rules in their city etc. They are in a sense an interest group that represents a group of people that cannot get things done since their voice is too small. i see nothing wrong with this at all.

Allen - Omaha You forget Hillary was Bill's bag lady in Arkansas?

You forget that Hillary allowed "HER HUSBAND" to constantly cheat on her and void his matrimony vows?

Hillary has no morals. She established residency in New York to get elected to the U.S. senate and promptly renounced her position to run for president?

Hillary deliberately looked the other way during her entire marriage while Bill cheated on her, probably with her permission. The two of them lack the morals of alley cats.

What did Hillary do when she was senator?

The post of secretary of state is purely honorary, as the person in that position has to follow 100% the orders of the president of the U.S.A. The secretary of state has no ability to show initiative or speak their own mind.

Bill Clinton only won the presidencies due to the splitting of the conservative vote by Ross Perot, the two times he ran. Had Perot not been the spoiler, Clinton would be a footnote in history.

When Clinton became governor of Arkansas, Arkansas was 49th in education and 49th in child welfare. Hillary was the titular head of the organizations to improve those statistics. When the Clintons left Arkansas, Arkansas was 50th in education and child care.

Tyson foods was allowed to dumb raw sewage from they chicken and turkey farms directly into the rivers that flowed through Arkansas in violation of federal laws. The Clintons were paid to look the other way.

Many of the off shore islands in the Caribbean sank due to the large deposits that the Clintons sent to the banks on the islands.

In a move certain to fuel the debate over Obama's qualifications for the presidency, the group "Americans for Freedom of Information" has Released copies of President Obama's college transcripts from Occidental College ...

Released today, the transcript school indicates that Obama, under the name Barry Soetoro, received financial aid as a foreign student from Indonesia as an undergraduate.

The transcript was released by Occidental College in compliance with a court order in a suit brought by the group in the Superior CourtCourtCourt of California.

The transcript shows that Obama (Soetoro) applied for financial aid and was awarded a fellowship for foreign students from the Fulbright Foundation Scholarship program.

To qualify, for the scholarship, a student must claim foreign citizenship.

This document would seem to provide the smoking gun that many of Obama's detractors have been seeking. Along with the evidence that he was first born in Kenya and there is no record of him ever applying for US citizenship, this is looking pretty grim. The news has created a firestorm at the White House as the release casts increasing doubt about Obama's legitimacy and qualification to serve as President article titled, "Obama Eligibility Questioned," leading some to speculate that the story may overshadow economic issues on Obama's first official visit to the U.K. In a related matter, under growing pressure from several groups, Justice Antonin Scalia announced that the Supreme Court agreed on Tuesday to hear arguments concerning Obama's legal eligibility to serve as President in a case brought by Leo Donofrio of New Jersey . This lawsuit claims Obama's dual citizenship disqualified him from serving as president.. Donofrio's case is just one of 18 suits brought by citizens demanding proof of Obama's citizenship or qualification to serve as president.

Gary Kreep of the United States Justice Foundation has released the results of their investigation of Obama's campaign spending. This study estimates that Obama has spent upwards of $950,000 in campaign funds in the past year with eleven law firms in 12 states for legal resources to block disclosure of any of his personal records. Mr. Kreep indicated that the investigation is still ongoing but that the final report will be provided to the U.S. Attorney general, Eric Holder. Mr. Holder has refused to comment on the matter...

I'd love to know just where they were suppose to make up the difference after the cuts. Secondly, I'd recommend you take a hard look at the excerpts of international leaders around the globe regarding her retirement. YOU might be very surprised just how supportive those in the Middle-East are of her. In regards to N. Korea...guess you haven't heard even China is warning them about their antagonistic moves with rocket launches. So, I'd say you have a lot of reading and catching up so as to make a valid argument.

Liberals are simply incapable of anything but finding someone else to blame, even when the independent report on the incident says otherwise. ooooooohhh, I so hope she does too! It will be a give-away for any Republican who chooses to run against her. Hillary was at her zenith 4 years ago when the Billary twin's frienemy Barack took her thunder...so to speak, not a reference to her thighs by the way. So her day is done. She will run hard and ultimately lose. The cycle next time favors anyone except a Dem, especially when Barack's damage is brought to full view. She should enjoy her little gold star for being Sec of State and go away.

LOL, Ms Clinton has been recognized by leaders of both parties as a hard working extremely compitant sec. of state. The hateful little trolls on these blogs not withstanding, she would have an excellent chance of winning if she decides to run.

I know its hard on Repubs who would love to have some women in their national leadership beyond wackos like Palin and Bachmann but at this point it simply is not the case.

jeff...amen. Repubs might also find disheartening the fact that Nate Silvers who has accurately projected election outcomes posted polls on this very subject. SOS Ms. Clinton is now slated as the winner come 2016 per the polling numbers by this distinguished pollster. He has predicted with uncanny accuracy POTUS both wins as well as many other election outcomes. I"d say Ms. Clinton has a very incredible opportunity if she so chooses to take it. He is so accurate that the Romney team asked him to stop projecting his polls as they projected his losing.

Funny that Bush graduated from an Ivy League school and you probably would say he was an idiot. Pelosi needs to be put out to pasture also. Didn't say anything about McCain but Hilary will be too old. We thought Obama might do some good but so far he is just like the rest of them with the exception - his wife and family have probably travelled more on my dime than anyone. Obama has not impressed me at all.

Some people try a screen name when signing up and the system adds a series of numbers to it to make it a unique identifier... This guy above tried to sign up as "227" and the system still assigned a unique identifier... Ah, the marvels of automation!

Bush barely graduated from an Ivy League school (a C student), with several professors having admitted to 'giving him a passing grade because of family pressure' while Obama graduated summa cum laude (i.e. with highest honors) and actually earned his grades, and was editor of The Harvard Law Review. So, yeah, Bush can be described as an idiot (I wouldn't, I just think he is not all that bright) while Obama cannot, especially by the likes of, you, Dick227.

P.S. Nicely done, chick binder, but I don't think 227 will understand it.

Hillary is amazing, standing by Bill when most of the country wanted to fire him! Raising Chelsea to be an independent and responsible adult. Keep the family together when everyone else thought she would divorce Bill and then Bill giving her so much support that he was starting to be know as "Mr. Mom". The Clinton's are now considered a 'power' couple. The only thing left to do is to make her President! She is the real deal

I voted Obama in the primary in 2008 because, as much as I love Hillary, I wasn't crazy about the way she ran her campaign, compared to Obama. She seemed to be telling everyone what they wanted to hear, and playing the "regular guy (gal)," eating hot dogs and fried dough, drinking beer with "regular Americans." It just seemed kind of fake. I liked her as Secretary of State, and I would be interested in seeing how she ran a second campaign. I wouldn't rule her out if she ran, but frankly, I don't think she wants it anymore.

Shouldn't Rep. Pelosi wait until all the facts are in on Secretary Clinton's health? Or at least which part of her memory may have suffered...

I already said this as a response to the first post, but Clinton already made it known that she has no desire to put in another presidential bid within the last few weeks. I think part of that is due to the stress of the job she's held and the health issues she's been facing the last few years. Especially considering that it has come to people's attention that she has a history of making herself ill to the point of fainting due to dehydration and poor diet when she's under stress. She won't be running for president or any other office per her choice. The best she'll be doing from here on out is supporting her party like her husband.

This isn't the first time Clinton passed out after having a stomach bug. As a U.S. senator representing New York, Clinton fainted in 2005 during a speech in Buffalo after complaining of a stomach virus.

She said that given Clinton's past fainting episode, her doctors would likely put her through a cardiac stress test.

                  Per article found here: http://usnews.nbcnews.com/_news/2012/12/15/15930235-hillary-clinton-recovering-after-fainting-suffering-a-concussion?lite

Now obviously we will not know about the cardiac results, but given her age, she will start slowing down her role in politics.

Oh and uh...Seeking....I'm an Independent that has thoughts that are nowhere near being far right or left thank you very much.

By 2016 Hillary will probably be fatter than Christie and be lucky is she can walk much less run for president and Pelosi won't be able to talk by then because her botox treatments are going to make her face look like her navel...

Hey Dee you'd be fat too if all you did for the last 4 years is sit on your butt in a plane stuffing your pie hole while jetting all over the world.

I believe that Benghazi would be her Waterloo. But it will never get that far. Most Democrats will never forget just how NASTY her campaign in 2008 turned out to be. She is too divisive to win a Primary and has only added to her Clinton 'entitlement' baggage. Being a successful SoS involves much more than jetting around the world for photo ops, while delegating the really tough problems to others. Remember, she insisted that she be permitted to bring her OWN STAFF to the State Department - so rightfully she should wear everything over the last four years. And that all THAT was not enough, cankles and 54-inch hips will sink the rest.

Yes, Dee Ten, and it's OK for Christie to be hugely obese because he's a man but Hillary, who has perhaps an extra 10 pounds, is a disgrace and should never be photographed...because women are supposed to be stick thin.

                  ECF -

It is not ok for Christie to be obese...the guy can hardly waddle around...what a sad example as a governor...

Hillary's got 10 lbs. in her jowls alone...when that woman walks it looks like 2 pigs in a sack trying to walk...

First why would anyone in their right mind trust Pelosi? the family is sooo rich and I bet they get more tax credits than we know about- They are the ones that need to be taxed, taxed, taxed. She is in no way qualified to comment on 4 years from now. She also doesn't inspire me when she speaks-- Traitor to the East went to the West- CA is a disaster and she probably contributed to it.

But for Clinton- Forget it- Yes mistakes were made, she may have a resume- at least more impressive that Obama but really we will be tired of this party soon when we see that the lies that were told did not prove real- so now it is the Republicans turn to lie.

WE NEED A THIRD PARTY that really matters!!
