Why not interview the individual House Republicans who have the power to push us over the fiscal cliff? Not Boehner - he's the face of the Republican House, but can't make a deal unless these Reps agree to it. We need to hear from these Republican Representatives who are holding up the deal. Why do they feel it's worth risking our economic recovery to protect the Bush tax cuts? What do they hope to win from the President? Have they thought through the consequences to the system of making people wait to age 67 to go in Medicare? What is their thinking? I mean this sincerley, why isn't the media spotlighting these individual Representatives? Why is this issue allowed to be conducted in the shadows?
Chris Jansings reporting from Newtown has been pitch perfect. I have really appreciated her warmth and compassion during this time.
Is the alternative minimum tax (AMT) an issue being resolved in this 'cliff' fix? I understand that without the fix, it will effect those meeting the criteria, retroactive to the beginning of 2012?
I'm with Amy B. on this. Why doesn't the media cover whats going on in the House, and Senate? I believe that if it was covered, there would be alot less B.S. going on???
Come on media, get with the program!!!
It's weird. Reporters only focus on Boehlner. Then the pundits tell us he can't get a deal because House members won't support him...but they don't interview these members to find out what their reasoning is. I don't think the press covers these sorts of issues well. The lack of real reporting just leads to the unsettled feeling in the country. No one is telling us what is really going on.
