Picking your fights? Yeah. You are talking to the reigning expert on that. I am from Michigan, and the GOP just punched the Unions in the mouth with 17,000 people protesting in opposition. I was one of them.
GOP picked the wrong fight at the wrong time. They may even have a republican drought here like the country experienced from just after the first Republican Great Depression to 1980.
Why were so many Republicans elected in MI--supposedly a solid blue state? You cannot trust them anymore. We narrowly avoided a Repub governor in WA and 2 Dems elected to the state senate betrayed their constituents by joining the Republicans to control the senate here.
Of course, in some districts like mine I could run a pastrami sandwich against Mother Teresa, and Mother Teresa would lose.
All I need to do is put an "(R)" next to the sandwich's name, and they'll vote that sucker into office.
Our city government is 100% Democratic or Green - not a Republican in the bunch and it's awesome. No partisan bickering and everyone is basically on the same page: just do what's right for the city. President Obama won our district handily. I could never live in a Republican district. Never. Never. Never.
Yo Barak. The dumb asses in the Congress and the Senate are going on the yearly Scew the American People holiday recess. Recess appointments.
