Boehner to Ohio this weekend

After another week spent wrangling with President Barack Obama over deficit negotiations, House Speaker John Boehner is planning to go home to Ohio for the weekend, say Republican aides.

On whether Boehner's physical absence from Washington could impact communicating with the president concerning the fiscal cliff, an aide indicated that a potential break in the apparent stalemate wouldn't be hampered by distance.

"Ohio has both cell phone service and airports - so if the President wants to talk or meet, it won't be a problem at all."

How DARE Otis leave!

Waiting for the same outrage from the right that was directed at the President for not being in DC!

What precisely is Agent Orange "planning" on doing while "home"?

Other than drinking himself blind!

PS: Glad to see the right wing nuts have finally figured out those "gizmo's" known as cell phones... lol

Boehner going home? retiring from politics? He is fed up by his own impotence and poisonous partisan approach.

But Boehner is already Persona non grata to Ohioans.

Layton---I have seen pictures of Boehner wearing an orange tie---you'd think he would know better than that!

If he loses the Speakership, I think he should resign and become a lobbying for the tanning booth industry.

Let's hope the Weeper remembers that he serves the people... and doesn't get served so much that he's useless.

Breaking news update -

Susan Rice drops out of consideration for the secretary of state post ... after Speaker Boehner decided to take his expensive vacation.

This has been a breaking news update by PNN (Pigotry News Network), a nun-partisan news network. Our motto - we nuns love Susan Rice, dislikes Boehner.

BEST OF LUCK, SUSAN.

I am so sure that Boehner would LOVE for President Obama to call Boehner for a face-to-face in Hawaii, and while he's at it, may as well have Boehner and his family over for Christmas Dinner.

Until late last year I worked in a small town that was part of Boehner's district, in fact my former boss hosted a dinner for him at his home.

Unfortunately there are a lot of hard-core Tea Party Republicans in that area who fail to see how much of a failure he is as speaker.

There are hardcore Tea Partiers in Maine, too, but their influence is waning since our Tea Party governor turned out to be such a jerk. Now he's got a Democratic-majority legislature to contend with, and we have an Independent Senator and two Democratic Representatives. In our case, democracy worked - the Tea Party had it's turn, people hated their policies, and now we elect Democrats. Boehner will find out how that works, soon.

I correctly predicted that Ohio would go for President Obama, hopefully we will un-elect Gov. Kasich before he gives away what remains of the state assets.

Unfortunately the redistricting will make it extremely difficult for Ohio Democrats to regain a majority in the state senate or house.

I was born in Cleveland, and my father's family farmed the eastern part of Ohio starting about five minutes after they declared statehood. Our roots are deep in that storied soil.

We can but wonder at the tenacity displayed by Hell's Own Oompa-Loompa, and no less marvel at the astonishing forbearance that is being exercised by his constituents. I can tell you from many years of personal experience that, 1. Buckeyes, although some of the nicest people you'll ever meet, are not possessed of an inexhaustible store of patience; and, 2. There are few who are held in greater contempt by my fellow Ohioans than that man who, as they put it, "ain't doin' right by his family"- or voters, in Agent Orange's case.

If he doesn't get his act together in a big damn hurry, he may just find himself in for a far-less-than-cordial reception the next time he sets foot in Portage County.

There are still some alive today in that county who remember the treatment given to the KKK when they started making nuisances of themselves back in 19-Thirty-whatever. I guarantee you, the sheetheads remembered it for a good long time.

Well that explains why Boehner is having a hard time making any "deal" with President Obama.

If Boehner's district is loaded with Teabaggers, they'll never let Boehner get away with "compromising" with President Obama, they will surely vote him out of office.

Wow, seems like Boehner is between a rock and a hard place.

The problem isn't making a deal, it has always been selling it to the different constituencies.
