Jeb Bush to chair National Constitution Center; gets non-partisan nod from Bill Clinton

Former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush, rumored to be mulling a 2016 bid for president, will become chairman of the National Constitution Center, according to a press release from the center.

Top Talkers: Three weeks after his re-election, a majority of the country approves of the job President Obama is doing, a new CNN/ORC poll shows. And in New Jersey, current Gov. Chris Christie has announced his bid for re-election, and a new poll should be an encouraging sign. 77 percent of N.J. approves of his job, according to a new poll. The Morning Joe panel discusses.

Bush will succeed former President Bill Clinton as chairman and follow in his father George H.W. Bush's footsteps, who served in the role before Clinton.

Clinton praised Bush's ability to work with supporters "regardless of party" in the release.

"It has been a great honor to serve as the Center's Board Chairman for the past three years," Clinton said, "and I couldn't be more pleased that Gov. Bush will lead this world-class museum into the future. Gov. Bush will be an eloquent spokesman for the Center's mission and will work well with all of the Center's supporters regardless of party."

Jeb Bush is just as bad as other members of his family. As Gov. of Florida, Jeb promoted and signed the "Stand Your Ground" law with the help from the NRA and ALEC. He is now actively involved with a failed charter school push in which he benefits greatly from financially.

Governor Schneider of Michigan is a total looser scum bag. He wants to destroy the economy of Michigan. What kind of person has so much animosity toward the state he lives in? He is nothing more than the devil who in time will pay the price for his cruel actions. No matter how much he was paid to do this, it will eventually do him in at time.

Jeb is the Bush who should have been elected in 2000. But his brother has sullied the Bush name for a generation or two. I honestly cannot see him running.

Even "W" wasn't actually "elected". He was essentially APPOINTED by the 5-4 SCOTUS ruling that the state of Florida could not continue to recount all of the ballots in their own state.

To seriously consider the notion that JEB Bush should run for President requires a level of IGNORANCE unseen before in this country. They stole the election, so they could execute PNAC's plan to begin the "perpetual war on terror", begun with their own "new Pearl Harbor".

Investigate with subpoena power for the first time, and you will see what these Neo-Cons have been up to.

        He was elected.

Got more votes in Florida than Al Gore in every count.

Count, re-count and NY Times count post-election.

Supreme Court ruled 7-2 against AlBore's illegal plan for selectively recounting areas favorable to him.

and 5-4 to end the charade of recounting the votes to try to figure out a way for Gore to get more.

He got less votes. And lost.

He got less votes in the Supreme Court. Gore got more votes in Florida. Bush was appointed due to "exigent" circumstances. JEB and DIEBOLD stole/switched enough votes from Gore to make it close for "W", not to mention vote caging and rampant voter suppression by Katherine Harris and Choice Point. All "justified" by their intention to pull off 9/11/2001 and blame their dereliction of duty on "lack of imagination" , and Muslims.

The premise the Republicans want to put forward that Jeb Bush would be their next party leader is based on what? The awsome job that last two Bushes did in the White House?

It would be fun to see Jeb run for president. Dubya would be out on the campaign trail stumping for his brother. Maybe Cheney too if he is still alive.

Probably some type of Machiavellian scheming by ole Bulbnose to get Jeb in a favorable position to be considered as the GOP nominee in 2016...he must think he and Hilda can beat the Bushes again.

I disagree with what many on here are saying about Crown Prince John Ellis Bush being the most "serious" threat to Hillary in 2016. They apparently mean he is the most likely Republican to win a free and fair election. Absolutely not. Jeb Bush would never win a free and fair national presidential election. He is a serious threat only because he is the one most likely to be able to successfully steal the election. He and his family are ruthless political gangsters. The Clintons are ruthless politicians capable of matching pretty much anything the Bushes can dream up under normal campaign circumstances.

One way the Bushes could steal that election is through a careful combination of voter suppression and rigging the electoral college. They would attempt to rig the electoral college this way. Because of gerrymandering and the 2010 midterms, Republicans control the state legislatures in Michigan, Ohio and Pennsylvania. In no way could Jeb Bush ever hope to carry these states in a presidential election. However, if the GOP state governments change the way these states allocate their electoral votes, from statewide winner takes all (which is the way 48 states now do it) to either Congressional district allocation, or as the corrupt GOP in Pennsylvania is considering, by allocating electoral votes proportionally, then Jeb could steal some crucial electoral votes from these deep blue states. I say "steal" because that is exactly what would happen because you know perfectly well that these right wing hypocrites who will say this scheme is "fair" would never considering changing the winner take all method used in states like Texas, or any southern state which is deep red on a statewide level, but would give Democrats may electoral votes either by congressional district or proportional allocation.

Yes Jeb can steal it, with a little help from his desperate reactionary crook friends.

I predict if Jeb does steal the election in this way, the US would explode in widespread civil disorder, and Jeb and Egypt's Morsi might have to compare notes on how to set up a dictatorship right here. The Bushes would love to be dictators finally anyway.

If Obama is willing to have the Justice Department PROPERLY investigate 9/11/2001, JEB would be dead in the water politically if not also legalisticaly.

The thought of another Bush is unlikely, here in Florida where he made hi super impression about the education GURU has already started to come up with derogatory[well deserved]results of the true Bush records. Not a day goes by without his great record takes another big [BAD HIT].His tenure of good education doesn't look to rosy in the next few years after his changes and further down the road most of his so called greatness has shown plenty of Not so great results after his coronation .There is plenty more not so successful results after he got through Breaking his arm Patting himself on the back to soon .The real truth is coming out and will get real truth if he tries to run for the Presidency.
