What happened to the other threads?
Republicans probably requested the other threads be removed and/or deleted because it made them look too bad.
Hey Mark & Domenico!
Where did First Thoughts go?
What latest on fiscal cliff negotiations? lol
The only thing we have seen so far is to trot out the bench-warmers on the Sunday talk shows to laugh & groan at the Presidents proposal!
It's time for the right wing to show us what they got...
Why does Agent Orange sound like a cat coughing up a hairball every time he tries to utter the word; compromise?
Right off the Fiscal Cliff I guess.
First Thoughts? Come back! I was posting (and making sense!) and wham .... no more ... removed???? WEIRD!
(Funny Forrest!)
Why are you asking us? I thought the conspiracy theory was that you controlled things around here!!?? Or was it that you were a senior administration advisor? It's hard to keep up!! ;-)
Death to the fiscal cliff! Is there nothing else happening?
In my best Robert DeNiro voice; "Are you talking to me"? lol
Darn and I was just about to expalin to Kornfed that somebody has been feeding him something much less wholesome than corn!
BCWC...I heard there was an election recently. And wasn't the Grey Cup just played?

Stop making sense! You crashed FR!
I apparently missed the earlier action! Oh well.
When will talk shows stop inviting nobody Grover Norquist to speak? He is a traitor to this country - at best; and a gutter trash loser at worse. He is the "D" list of speakers and you know you're scraping the bottom of the barrel when you have to ask him to come on your show!
Grimey ... grey cup was a week ago and the last election I know of was in Quebec a few months complete with a shooting ago and taxes are going up. Yup, we have idiots also.

The other threads are now in the same folder as the specific plan from republicans as to how they will raise revenue without raising taxes.

Yes, there is! The palace is confirming that Kate is preggers!
British tabloids can now return to their regularly scheduled "news".
So now it is Kate plus nine? I thought 8 was enough.
JoAnne there also is ..
Syria Denies It Would Use Chemical Weapons
Voice of America
Syria says it will not use chemical weapons against its own people after U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton warned the issue remains a "red line" that would prompt direct American intervention.
Amy ... sorry about that! ;-)
Norquist is a nobody, a rich unelected nobody!....The media should stop elevating him to some status other than what he is....nobody!...An extortionist!
Layton-3733410
Nothing new there.

I like WaPo's headline on the Syria situation:
"Syrian official says regime won’t use chemical weapons, ‘if there are any,’ on Syrians"
I actually started to write something about how that kind of puts the whole "fiscal cliff" drama in a bit more perspective.....but then I got sidetracked by reading what Bob Costas apparently said during last night's game about the Jovan Belcher tragedy......and about "perspective":
"In the aftermath of the nearly unfathomable events in Kansas City, that most mindless of sports cliches was heard yet again: Something like this really puts it all in perspective. Well, if so, that sort of perspective has a very short shelf life, since we will inevitably hear about the perspective we have supposedly again regained the next time ugly reality intrudes upon our games.
Please, those who need tragedies to continually recalibrate their sense of proportion about sports would seem to have little hope of ever truly achieving perspective. You want some actual perspective on this? Well a bit of it comes from the Kansas City-based writer Jason Whitlock, with whom I do not always agree, but who today said it so well that we may as well just quote or paraphrase from the end of his article:
“Our current gun culture,” Whitlock wrote, “ensures that more and more domestic disputes will end in the ultimate tragedy, and that more convenience store confrontations over loud music coming from a car will leave more teenage boys bloodied and dead. Handguns do not enhance our safety. They exacerbate our flaws, tempt us to escalate arguments, and bait us into embracing confrontation rather than avoiding it. ... If [Jovan Belcher] didn’t possess a gun, he and Kasandra Perkins would both be alive today."
I've always liked Bob Costas. I wish more people in Washington - and on here, of course - had his kind of perspective on perspective.

Dang gremlins...musta exposed them to bright light, water, or food after midnight!
They feed on partisan hypberole, misspellings and bad grammar. Layton was composing a post that make sense right, before First Read crashed, hence the balance was tipped towards reason, and the gremlins were unleashed.
