Obama, Romney to meet for lunch Thursday

After a long and -- at times -- contentious campaign, President Obama and Mitt Romney sit down together for lunch at the White House on Thursday. NBC's Brian Williams reports.

President Obama and the man he defeated in the 2012 presidential contest -- Republican Mitt Romney -- will have lunch Thursday at the White House, Obama's press secretary announced.

It will be the first meeting since the election's end.

The White House said there will be no press coverage of the meeting.

That Jive Chump toasted any White House invite the second he started claiming President Obama bought the Presidency with gifts to minorities. The President has to invite members of Congress and Governors to the White House but not this sore loser. He doesn't even hold an office anywhere. Tell him to go preside over his car elevator.

The president will do himself well if he not only listens to Romney about the economy, but accepts Romney's suggestions and acts accordingly.

You've got to assume Obama asked Romney for advice. What should I do? What were you going to do? I have no clue other than to keep taxing and giving to those who don't contribute to society. Please help me Mitt.

So Obama who Hollywood has dubbed "Our Lord and Savior" is meeting with the evil, greedy, and heaven forbid rich Mitt. This must make you libs nuts I would think. What if Obama got some good ideas from this evil man? It must be really scary for you. Maybe Obama is just going to sprinkle holy water over him.

You mean like capping deductions? Which makes the rich pay more while still allowing the middle class to use all available deductions. Interesting idea, that Obama now wants to use.

Note to dems. The friggin campaign is over. You guys are acting like both parties are still running for office.

Your piece of crap won the election. Good for him, so what's the purpose of constantly bashing Romney. What did the guy do to you? Your problem is you buy into all the BS that gets displayed during an election, and you believe every single bit of it.

Enjoy your high horse now dems, you won't be on top of the world forever.

Less than 1/2 a million votes, in 4 states is the difference in this election, and Obama knows it! Not even close to being a mandate! Total difference; 3.5 mil.

When you look at a county map of the election; 90% of the landmass voted for Romney. Obama won a few, well oiled counties in this nation; ones that get overstimulated with government pork!

Add to the fact Obama bought the Latino vote by executive order, and we don't even have a republic anymore. We barely have a democracy!

Check out a county map; it's all RED!!

Clinton became more moderate to get re-elected and stayed there to work with Republicans, and was successful as a result. Obama should learn more from his supposed mentor. A lot more would actually get accomplished.

Thank you, and I'm so sorry that the GOP can not understand that things change. The Dem's have beeen under the gun since Reagan. Now that has been over thirty years and the trickle down effect didn't work. No need to hold on to that plan. To the victor goes the spoils. Time to try something new. Yet it is true that taxes and death is the American way.

No, Taxes are the liberal way. If all else fails, tax some more.

Yet, many of us know that we can spend and apply our finances vastly better than any government ever could.

Taxes have been a way of the world before Ceasar. Time for them to go away now? You pay taxes in church, you pay the church taxes. Grow up and understand the world.

                        #99.5 - Wed Nov 28, 2012 12:05 PM EST

I never said there should be no taxes. I'll never say there should be no government. That's the misconception that Dems quite often have about republicans. It's not that we want no government with no taxes. It's that we want a non-intrusive government, and intelligence when it comes to spending.

Secondly, where do you assume I go to church? Because I'm a republican that makes me a church goer? Perhaps you should grow up. I don't go, hell I don't even believe there is a god, so maybe you should know what the hell you're talking about before you open your mouth jack.

If Obama is smart, he will discuss with Romney a position to help put our economy and jobs back in America. But it seems like a lot of the comments people are on Freeloading from our government and on the backs of the true Americans that DO PAY their taxes. There are too many Socialist liberals showing their true colors that should move to Russia or Iran. Too bad people can't get over being the problem and not the solution. Blame is cowardly and a cheap shot with no substance.

Mitt has never been a job creator as far as business is concerened. He is a money maker, investment hawk. The job that you care to give him credit for are low paying jobs that you would be better sered as a student in college or living at home with mom and dad. Not for raising a family.

I hope they'll be talking about both taking leadership to put America back on a strong financial leadership role. The Domenici-Rivlin Debt Reduction Task Force made some common sense recommendations for comprehensive reform. Now is the time for both parties to embrace it. Search for the recommendation and read the executive summary. This solution would mean our elected representatives would have to adopt something that all taxpayers would feel some pain, but the economy and the stock market would take off and we'd be the great nation God intends us to be.

The reason Obama won was racism and heterophobia, pure and simple. The numbers were evident and no Republican candidate would be able to overcome them: 10% of the population is homosexual, 15% is black, and 17% is hispanic. That's 42% that are a lock for Obama, and that is before you add in pro-abortionists, generational welfare recipients, and liberals that would vote for Satan himself if he were a Democrat. That's why Obama did not even try to run on his abysmal record, he just continuously denigrated Romney and had massive "get out the vote" campaigns. He knew that if these people voted they would automatically vote for him, so all he had to do was get them to the polls. Facts are obvious: blacks are far more racist than whites, homosexuals want lifestyle endoresement not just acceptance, and a large number of Americans just want their handout.
