Shouldn't the real scandal be why are the Republicans focusing on the talking points that the CIA gave to Susan Rice rather than making a concerted effort to find out what happened, how do we prevent this from happening in the future, and how do we keep our diplomats safe? What's really sick is that this has become a political football for the Republicans trying to score a touchdown when there is no game. Instead of taking the intel and finding ways to make our diplomats safer they want to harm the President and anyone in his administration.

This was NEVER the way in the past. We have lost diplomats before - regettably - and all of our efforts have been to find why it happened and to keep it from happening again - not to place blame and try to tear people apart.

I read a great editorial piece in the Salt Lake Tribune recently about the GOP being opposed to the truth. It doesn't matter if it's Benghazi, global warming, how old the earth is, basically anything that can be backed up by fact but doesn't meet their crazy conservative beliefs becomes a fighting point for them. Fox News is the ONLY channel that supports and encourages this type of behavior. There just aren't that many people world wide that believe that science is secondary to politics. People are open to new ideas and exploring issues in the LIBERAL world we live in.

Time and time again many of us have asked the Republican posters to back up their claims and facts and we constantly hear nothing back. I would love for one of them to let me know which "conservative" countries are doing well on the global market that are not ruled by a dictator.

Obama won approximately 52% of the popular vote to Romney's 47%.

Susan Rice was valedictorian, Phi Beta Kapa at Stanford, a Truman Scholar and a Rhodes Scholar with a PhD from Oxford. She was assistant to the Secretary of State during the Clinton administration; she has worked at the UN for four years helping put together agreements including sanctions; she's been working with world leaders through the ambassadors for four years; she's been working with and helping Secretary Hillary Clinton. Ms. Rice is well qualified.

Senator John Kerry would also be an excellent choice because he has a great deal of experience in foreign policy; served in the US Navy, etc. and he has done a lot of work for President Obama behind the scenes.

President Obama doesn't need a "concilliatory gesture" in the form of Jon Huntsman to make the GOPers feel better. A Secretary of State must be someone loyal to both the president and the party's ideological views on foreign policy, diplomacy, etc.; I don't think Huntsman fits that requirement. He ran for the GOP presidential nomination in 2012, he's probably going to run again in 2016--nope, not a good choice.

We know that several hundred died, but there was never an official count done of security contractors dead in Iraq. So when I see this focus on what was essentially a small firefight, I think, number one, I've covered a lot of firefights. It's impossible to figure out what happens in them sometimes. Rice said she was relying on information from the intelligence community, but the head of the intelligence community says “We knew the attack in Benghazi was terrorist act from beginning” Rice was just saying what Obama told her to say.

The undeniable fact is that it was a terrorist attack.

Finally, on September 11^th, the attack that Obama had refused to believe in, happened. Obama knew immediately that it was a terrorist attack, and that he was responsible for leaving the Mission helpless. I'm sure the President experienced a horrible sinking sensation when he realized the he had made a catastrophic error so serious that it bordered on treason. Instead of mitigating his blunder by immediately sending military support to Benghazi, he covered it up by refusing all the pleadings for help. He fabricated a story out of thin air that it was a spontaneous protest against an anti-Muslim film, because the truth would have exposed his incompetence just prior to the election.

The truth is emerging like a rising tide that will eventually drown this corrupt President.

The intelligence community knew lots of information, some correct some incorrect, from the beginning. They aren't going to share much of what they know with a diplomat or the American public, before they have identified and captured the perpetrators of the attack. Susan was given the PRELIMINARY findings because the, unbeknownst to her, misinformation of the CIA's "cover story" helped the intel community mop up the situation domestically and in LIBYA.

Ambassador Stevens had the full resources of the intelligence community at his disposal. The Ambassador is not entirely without fault here. Why didn't he take into consideration that it was 9/11. Why didn't he query the CIA before going to an area where there was a security gap. Why wasn't there a warning from the CIA, and if there was, why wasn't it heeded? People in foreign services take calculated risk, it is part of their job. If there was a failure, it was an intelligence failure in the CIA for not warning him of the dangers on being in Benghazi on 9/11. Why not go after the cause of this failure rather than trying to drum up something on some one who said something on TV. It doesn't matter what she said. Like I said before, all this hullabaloo is about getting the president, and that's all it's about.
