Inside the Boiler Room: Questions anyone?

The election is over but there is still plenty of politics to discuss Inside the Boiler Room! We want to hear from you so post any questions you may have for Mark and Domenico below. You can also tweet us, @NBCFirstRead@mmurraypolitics or@DomenicoNBC, or post on our Facebook page.

Good to see you back Mark & Domenico!

Been awhile!

I'm wondering how many days Congress is scheduled to work between now & the first of the year?

Being it is a lame duck session, how real are the chances of going over the "fiscal speed-bump" and waiting for the new Congress to be sworn in?

What are the odds of John Boehner being able to deliver the votes this time around?

Okay, that's more than one question, but inquiring minds and all!

Question: Why can a supposedly fictional 'fiscal cliff' really hang over our head like the Sword of Damocles? Why has congress been such a dysfunctional family? Why has a small number of wacky rwnj - such as Norquist - succeeded in defeating common sense policies with broad public support - such as a fair tax rate (39.5%) on the 1% and a fair wage for the bottom 47% (that Mitt vilified)?

.

Why can't we get along?

.

Yes We Can.

We shall overcome.

What will be the president's "signature" piece of legislation for the second term?

    #1.2 - Tue Nov 27, 2012 5:48 AM EST

What reforms can we expect in the following issues?

    1. Education, primarily our pathetic primary and secondary education system.

    2. Trade policies.

    3. taxes.

    4. Regulations.

    5. Unions.

    6. Immigration.

    7. All-the-above energy.

    8. Medicare/Medicaid.

    9. Social Security.

    10. Waste, fraud, abuse and redundancy in government social programs.

    Thank you.

    1. Who stands to gain or lose the most (from a political perspective) in the upcoming negotiations on the "fiscal cliff"? Are there any politicians, Republican or Democrat, who might have an eye toward 2016 and attempt to increase their visible profile during these negotiations?

    2. My son might only be in elementary school...but he is really smart. Is it too late to start grooming him for a Presidential run in 2040? Or should I be more realistic and start looking towards 2044? With how early the campaigns start these days, he could be too late for both! ;-)

Sorry, Grimey, my nephew is already on track to be President in 2040 - his mastery of Angry Birds foretells a great future in politics.

When will Wisconsin and Minnesota pack it in, join Canada, and thereby give the GOP a fighting chance?

Newday ... just remember that you will lose the freedom to vilify an ethnic group and call for their destruction. Other than that you will be able to say and do as you please other than strutting about with a handgun. Oh, and you get an extra 3 or 4 weeks between turkeys.

NEVER, I hope! Why would we want to give the GOP a fighting chance? Let them earn it!

A better question would be: When will the Canadians invade the U.S. and bring sanity, peace and prosperity (along with some great humor) to their struggling, cantankerous cousins down south?

If there is a deal to be made to avoid the "Fiscal Cliff", what should we ultimately expect to see from that deal, who has to give more towards making the deal, Democrats or Republicans, and when should we expect to see a deal?

Mandate. We keep hearing the word, and both sides claim it.

Did the President get a mandate on taxes in this last election, and will that help in making a deal with the Republican House?

Or did the House Republican retain an edge since they held the House?

      Thanks!

So was yours, Frank. As to your young son: I think you should run first. We need a reasonable conservative to move the Republican Party back to sanity.

Add to it, Americans seem to like dynasties. Have you given that thought?

Hi Newday, I had a good Thanksgiving. I hope you and your family had a good Thanksgiving as well. The clean-up here in N.J. continues. We have had many volunteers come to help and we appreciate all their hard work.

Brings you back to a W Bush speech. I'm trying to figure out if he was a lefty or a righty.

Could be Palin posting under a surname.

Are you fellas willing to pony up an additional 3% or are you going to hang on to that money with a tight fisted grip? You have to be making well above the 250k limit.

I make less than 40K a year and I've resolved myself to tacking on that additional 3% if need be, and if it helps the country.

Why is it that the ones who are less fortunate, are the ones most willing to help in a crisis?

Yeah, your willing to tack on an additional 3% if need be.

A TRILLION dollars paid out in welfare and "entitlements" last year, NOT counting Social Security and Medicare entitlements that most people actually PAID for all their lives and therefore actually ARE entitled to those benefits.

And you say you're willing to pay MORE just because Obama and Democrats think that TAKING from you is the answer to an "economic recovery"? Why? Are you part of that "entitlement" system because of your "low income" also? And if you are, are you willing to STOP taking those "entitlements" and just live on you income alone?

Meanwhile MILLIONS not only sit back and demand their "entitlements" that they've never worked a DAY in their lives to actually EARN and then demand that OTHER people pay more so that THEY can get more and still do nothing for it.

Don't think so? I've got a neighbor who since she was a teen popped kids and went on every "entitlement" program out there. Now her children are popping kids so THEY can get their "entitlements". Total contributions to the entitlement system by a total of FOUR citizens that are drawing their "entitlements"? Exactly ZERO, and yet they are demanding MORE from the system they're BANKRUPTING.

And I can tell you from SEEING IT every single day that this is TYPICAL of people in poor areas, the projects, the public housing areas, and places all over the NATION.

                    #12.1 - Tue Nov 27, 2012 2:12 PM EST

                    You misunderstand, oh, so greatly.

I'm not on any entitlements. I have a job, it keeps me afloat, nothing frivolous.

I'm not popping kids out like a bunny in a factory. I live in a nice neighborhood with a few folks on assistance. It happens.

You assume much, but know very little. You cannot just cut everything and think that's going to solve the problem. We lost revenue with tax cuts and wars with no resolution to make that up. That's a fact of history, and you probably cheered for the bombs blanketing Iraq for no goddamn reason other than uncle George needed a star in the history books. I watched the bombers take off that night. I was not @!$%#ing happy about it.

It doesn't matter who's in charge, If I have to pay more in taxes to get the country going again, then I will. That's the difference between you and I. I'm willing to give, you're willing to stomp and pout, only. I'm shocked you're upset. Really.

I know my duty to my country, while you're entitled to believe the country should do for you, and at the same time decry how much government involvement there is.

Thanks for playing, but, you lose.

Why would anyone want to discuss anything with these Obama shoe lickers?

All they do is ensure that ALL stories that are put out by MSDNC are in support of raising taxes, in support of more regulations, in support of all left agendas, and in support of literally demonizing and attacking anyone that doesn't agree with them or their left wing cronies.
