YAKOTA AFB, Japan — President Barack Obama spoke with Egyptian President Mohammed Morsi for the third time in a 24-hour period while flying back from a trip to southeast Asia aboard Air Force One.
Deputy National Security Adviser Ben Rhodes said the call was to continue the discussions both presidents have had about Egypt's ability to help end the rocket-fire in Gaza.
"He also underscored that President Morsi's efforts reinforce the important role that President Morsi and Egypt play on behalf of regional security and the pursuit of broader peace between the Palestinians and Israelis," Rhodes said of the call, which occurred en route a refueling stop in Japan following Obama's three-day trip overseas.

This call comes as Secretary of State Hillary Clinton makes her way to the region to meet with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, along with Palestinian and Egyptian leaders. It is unclear about whether she will sit down with Morsi while in the Middle East.
Rhodes said the president has made clear that the primary objective at this moment is the deescalation of violence, and commended Morsi for sharing that goal.
"Without an end to rocket fire into Israel from Gaza, Israel can't be assured of the security of its people," Rhodes said.
The president believes the "preferred outcome" of all of the leaders involved is an end to the loss of life in the region.

I guess Obama is calling to call in the "chips" for getting Mubarack out and Morsi in. Probably do little if anything as Obama is viewed as nothing more than a talking head with no relevance anymore. Sends Clinton to diffuse the heat, but only for 1 day.. oh, that works..she is "scheduled" to be back in Washington for Thanksgiving. Typical prioritiesof this administration... run away to Asia to avoid involvement in fiscal talks, run away to Vegas to avoid involvment in Benghzai.. all to appear above the fray and get out of work....Liberal Leadership . Obama should ask Nancy how to handle the mid east. She makes all the other decisions for him. This unexpirience fibbing man just does not know how to handle things. He cannot think on his own.
How is that Arab Spring working out? The US has lost all credibality in the Middle East and Arab world.....we are no longer the power proker or carry any weight in negociaitons. Hillary is a second thought on the meetings with Israel and Hamas with the new Egyptian "Muslim Brotherhood" President the new power in the region. Good job Mr. obama. Mr President you are doing what you are supposed to do, the blood thirsty fools and war mongers still don't get it. Peace in this part of the world don't seem to have a chance, no never will as there is too much animosity on both sides . Several Presidents have tried to broker a peace treaty and have failed , there is enough blame to go around. Netanyahu is up for election in January so we can expect some more flexing of muscles and might. Time forthe show of might to stop as innocent lives are being lost .

Obama is making alot of calls to his mentor in Egypt now that he has been made to look good by Morsi getting his puppet Hama to stop shoot rockets towards Israel. I am sure Obama has given Morsi the go ahead to become the muslim Pharoh of Egypt and to have his blessings. After all, Morsi has made our third world dictator president look good in setting up the demise of Israel.
