Congress: Petraeus’ day on the Hill

“Former CIA Director David Petraeus is preparing to field questions from lawmakers about the attack on the U.S. Consulate in Libya, his appearance on Capitol Hill coming one week after he resigned over an extramarital affair,” the AP writes. “Petraeus is under investigation by the agency for possible wrongdoing, though that's not the subject of the closed-door hearings he is set to attend Friday. The September attack in Benghazi, which killed the U.S. ambassador and three other Americans, created a political firestorm, with Republicans claiming that the White House misled the public on what led to the violence.”

CNN’s Barbara Starr reported Petraeus will tell Congress he knew “almost immediately” that the attack on U.S. officials in Benghazi was linked to terrorists. But: “According to this source, Petraeus says the stream of intelligence from multiple sources, including video at the scene, indicated the group was behind the attack. But a separate stream of intelligence also emerged indicating ongoing riots in Cairo over an anti-Islamic film might have motivated the attacks. The source says there were some 20 different intelligence reports indicating the Cairo film might be responsible. The CIA eventually disapproved all those reports, but not until after Petraeus’ initial briefings to Congress in which he discussed all possibilities, the source said.”

John McCain was not happy when he was asked about why he missed a Benghazi briefing the day before (at the same time he was holding a press conference).

The Chattanooga Times Free Press: “A decade before calling himself ‘a consistent supporter of pro-life values,’ Tennessee physician and Republican U.S. Rep. Scott DesJarlais supported his ex-wife’s decision to get two abortions before their marriage, according to the congressman’s sworn testimony during his divorce trial. Obtained by the Chattanooga Times Free Press, the couple’s 2001 trial transcript also confirms DesJarlais had sexual relationships with at least two patients, three coworkers and a drug representative while he was chief of staff at Grandview Medical Center in Jasper, Tenn. During one affair with a female patient, DesJarlais prescribed her drugs, gave her an $875 watch and bought her a plane ticket to Las Vegas, records show.”

DesJarlais (pronounced DAY-zhar-lay) was swept in in 2010 with the Tea Party wave and was reelected in 2012 with 56% of the vote.

Roll Call: “Republican leaders on Capitol Hill were largely silent as new revelations stemming from Rep. Scott DesJarlais’ messy decade-old divorce came to light Thursday. The office of Speaker John A. Boehner of Ohio declined to comment….”

A Tom Coburn “Department of Everything” report goes after the Pentagon for $67.9 billion in what he sees as waste. The Boston Globe calls the report “wry but scathing.”

isn't it really sad how the Republicans are energetic and gung ho to hope to prove The president is some vile creature bent on destroying America. It's also very sad and pathetic that they don't show this kind of zeal to get a bargaining done to help the millions of Americans who are dying right here in at home.

Press conference after hilarious press conference on something about how bad this President is. Why they don't ever do a press conference on the economy? This proves it was never about the voters or what we want...just their cynical, revenged based objective against a popular Black president.

It matters because so many whites have made an issue of it. Demanding to see proof of his birth. Where he was born and proof of his education. What other sitting president has ever been treated in such fashion? Jan 'SKELETOR' Brewer shaking her finger in his face. Fig Newton Gangrene saying that, "Pres Obama is the 'food stamps' president!" The fact that among white members of Congress, he is known as 'Sambo' and that he was heckled on the White House lawn by a white reporter who showed him zero respect. One older white woman who said at a McCain rally that she did not trust Barack Obama because he is an Arab and thousands calling for his impeachment for the slightest infraction; or ANYTHING they so perceive be an infraction. The constant and never-ending accusation that Barack Obama is a member of the Muslim Brotherhood and who plots to destroy this country from within.

The fact that a young white woman in California tweeted, "I can't believe that nigga won again!" The fact that 400 students on the campus of Ole Miss rioted when he won reelection. The fact that white members of the Republican Party and others; gathered themselves together to plan and plot his failure while he was yet to being inaugurated. The fact that Rust Limpball said, "This president must fail...I need him to fail!" The fact that Willard blamed his losing the election on the notion that Pres Obama offered 'free stuff' to the black community in order to get their vote and the fact that other whites chimed in regarding this nonsense. The fact that Donald Dump has offered a sort of bounty or reward for any proof that will establish that Pres Obama is not the President because he was born on foreign soil outside the continental US.

Because a white girl LIED and said that she was attacked by a bunch of black guys who carved the letter 'B' ('B' for Barack), into her face but; she forgot when she did it to herself in the mirror that the 'B' would show up backward so the police easily figured out that she did it to herself. Her motive and intent was to show that America would fall into the hands of radical extremist blacks if Barack Obama was elected; that his presidency alone would harm America.

The fact that the birther nonsense began as soon as Barack Obama was elected the first time and that this level of vitriol has never been displayed toward any 'white' president. The fact that when the affordable health care bill passed initially, hundreds of whites gathered outside the State House, I think it was, and 'spat' on black representatives 'only' as they walked by; and chanted 'niggars, NIGGARS!' The fact that in stump speeches throughout this election cycle and in divers places; Republican surrogates kept referring to this President as being, 'somehow foreign' and that was capped with the never ending suggestion/innuendo that Barack Obama isn't American and needs to learn how to be an American; yet he was indeed born American!

Need I go on? I can! If nothing else, the election and reelection of the first black President has opened up old wounds apparently; as well as re-establishing the heavy racist attitude that many whites still have and hold toward black people as a whole; who live, work and pay taxes in this America and who physically helped to build this country with bricks and sweat just like the white people did but are to this day treated/seen as slaves still in the eyes of many whites!

    Right on...

You have obviously forgotten the level of "vitriol" leveled to George W. Bush starting with Pelossi.

Your comments about white folks spitting on black represenatives has been disproved by video tape

There will always be stupid racist white people as well as stupid racist black people...IGNORE THEM

So much talk in the media about the sex scandal's of two top ranking generals, and the female's involved. What's the media playing, a re-run of the Billy Bob scandal strategy: focus on and blame the woman in the equation? It would appear the same thing is happening now.

How about more focus on the events surrounding the need for this investigation.

Answer the question: Was the Occupier of the White House involved, and does he or did he lie?

Hmmmm, if he wasn't involved, why not?

They can't answer your question..because there is no answer. If all the intelligence community says he wasn't involved in that decision and you still don't believe...then you have to check yourself in the mirror (your bias hate is overrunning your life, blocking your sane judgement, bludgeoning your critical thinking skills)

Stop looking for the "gotcha moment" LMMAO

BTW If President Obama had the affair with those women ...impeachment would have met him at the door instantly. The reporters would have grilled his a$$ off on questions. Benghazi would have been an afterthought (Actually they would have falsely connected the dots...I could see the headlines now)

"President Obama neglected the lives of 4 Americans while having a romp in the hay with 2 married women"!
