Times: “Mitt Romney told his top donors Wednesday that his loss to President Obama was a disappointing result that neither he nor his top aides had expected, but said he believed his team ran a “superb” campaign with ‘no drama,’ and attributed his rival’s victory to ‘the gifts’ the administration had given to blacks, Hispanics and young voters during Obama’s first term. Obama, Romney argued, had been “very generous” to blacks, Hispanics and young voters. He cited as motivating factors to young voters the administration’s plan for partial forgiveness of college loan interest and the extension of health coverage for students on their parents’ insurance plans well into their 20s. Free contraception coverage under Obama’s healthcare plan, he added, gave an extra incentive to college-age women to back the president.”
The New York Times: “Saying that he and his team still felt “troubled” by his loss to President Obama, Mitt Romney on Wednesday attributed his defeat in part to what he called big policy ‘gifts’ that the president had bestowed on loyal Democratic constituencies, including young voters, African-Americans and Hispanics.”
Of health care, Romney said: “You can imagine for somebody making $25,000 or $30,000 or $35,000 a year, being told you’re now going to get free health care, particularly if you don’t have it, getting free health care worth, what, $10,000 per family, in perpetuity — I mean, this is huge. Likewise with Hispanic voters, free health care was a big plus. But in addition with regards to Hispanic voters, the amnesty for children of illegals, the so-called Dream Act kids, was a huge plus for that voting group.”
More: “Mr. Romney’s comments in the 20-minute conference call came after his running mate, Representative Paul D. Ryan of Wisconsin, told WISC-TV in Madison on Monday that their loss was a result of Mr. Obama’s strength in ‘urban areas,’ an analysis that did not account for Mr. Obama’s victories in more rural states like Iowa and New Hampshire or the decrease in the number of votes for the president relative to 2008 in critical urban counties in Ohio.”
The New York Daily News: “Mitt Romney can’t lay off the ‘47%.’ The losing GOP presidential candidate unloaded a cartful of sour grapes on his top donors Wednesday, saying President Obama won because he handed out ‘big gifts’ to blacks, Hispanics and young voters. Romney’s statement echoed the ‘47%’ gaffe he made at a fundraiser that alienated voters he said were ‘dependent upon government.’”
Hotline’s Reid Wilson: “Republican presidential contender Mitt Romney failed to offer a vision that connected with everyday Americans, failed to respond to an early and ultimately successful attempt to define him as an out-of-touch corporate raider and failed to portray his party as anything other than the party for rich white males -- at least according to some of the prominent Republicans who served as his top surrogates just a few weeks ago. Romney's campaign came in for a series of tongue-lashings at a meeting of the Republican Governors Association, where two dozen chief executives hobnobbed with big-dollar donors and swapped notes on what they called a disappointing election cycle. And as several among their ranks privately ponder their own potential presidential campaigns four years down the line, they said there are lessons to be learned from this year's Republican shortcomings.”

Guess Mythe forgot all the positions he took on every subject....pandering to the audience he was talking to....and maybe he will remember all the flip flops he took....of course that is if Romnesia hasn't set in....and now he has no campaign staff to "walk back" and explain what he really meant...and maybe if he released a few more tax returns to show how "honest" he was may have helped....and just maybe a degree on Math may have helped...

Mitt’s ridiculous comments are no surprising. The GOP/Tea Party’s mentality is that
American’s at the bottom take from the rich at the top while disintegrating the
American Christian values. Thus, their
platform promoting tax cuts for the “poor” rich, while claiming that “big”
government impress on our freedoms. In
fact, the so call Christians support for the rich and their attempt to regulate
of American’s bedrooms reflect the reality of this movement, where they are
pro-life only for the fetus, but not for the poor, disable, and old. They envision a society where the rich get
richer, while the religious right oversees our bedrooms. We have seen this type of government before,
in fact, we now call it “medieval age”. Sorry Romny, we don't need a king.
His comments really are not surprising. He "outed" himself when he spoke at the 47% fundraiser and he solidified who he is (once again) and what he thinks of his fellow citizens. I think it is amusing to watch some of the leaders try and distance themselves from the Flip Flopper like he has a contagious disease that none of them want to catch. Don't worry GOP'ers, there is a cure..........get a heart and a soul and you guys just might have a chance.

Ann Romney started the elitist attitude going when she said "it was their turn" to be president....oh, well....guess the VOTERS didn't hear her!! But the Voters DID hear the Repub party message of hate and racism and sheer stupidity from the start of the primaries thru election night! And the voters decided Romney was NOT entitled and NOT able to related to the voters of America. So now Mitt will have lots of free time to move from one Blue state to another Blue state and then go to the Caribbean to visit his money!!!

It's striking, the difference between Romney's defensive post-election attitude and the tone Obama struck at his press conference yesterday. When confronted with criticism over his relationship with Congress, President Obama said he could stand to do better, and would seek to address his weakness in that area.
President Obama: the only adult in the room, and, apparently, the only adult who ran for the office.
Totally, true, Amy. I was never as proud of our president as I was watching and listening to him at his press conference yesterday. We've got the only man, the right man, for president. I could not even imagine The Flip Flopper trying to handle all the crap that is going on right now such as the escalating violence and bombing between Israel and Palestine, the fiscal cliff, Libya, and the Patraeus scandal. With all of this going on I would have imagined Romney running for the nearest private jet and getting the hell out of dodge!

What a joke. Obama won because Romney only cares about his rich buddys and would starve the nation why feeding china, just as he always has. And it didn't help that he chose a lunatic "WAR PIG" like Paul Ryan for a running mate.
During the republican debates Romney was called the worst possible candidate to challenge Obama because he refused to release his tax returns, explain his offshore accounts or account for actions of Bain rather than to retroactively resign. They even coined the phrase vulture capitalist.
The right wing talking heads at Fox and Limbaugh called those charges ridiculous as nothing could be proven. The millions who were a little disappointed with Obama's pace of recovery might have given him a shot had he explained how his plan could work and if they thought he was worthy of being president. All those things pointed out at the republican debates were spot on. If people believe he's a tax dodging corporate raider they won't believe he's worthy. We don't have to prove he's worthy to be POTUS he had to prove he was and didn't.

I like your analysis here. The contenders for the Republican nomination really made it hard for Romney to win. The right wing talking heads basically made the case against Romney during their "anyone but Romney" phase.
Why can't any Republican admit that the reason for their crushing defeat was their hateful message of exclusion, discrimination, the war on women, the way Romney said nothing when the likes of Limbaugh took potshots at women in general, why Romney looks differently at anyone who is not him or like him or a Mormon or white or rich. The Republican party platform supported the NRA more than the ERA! Romney couldn't come right out and say he supported equal pay for women, he hedged on alllll issues involving women!! He would have cut or fully eliminated Planned Parenthood support. He came right out and said he would cut or eliminate SS, Medicare, Medicaid, SSI, student loans, child care subsidies, PBS, then wonders why people didn't vote for him! He will never "get it"....that's why the Repubs lost this election and will lose future elections too!
Oh, Mittens, you forgot the "gift" of extended unemployment compensation for those workers left jobless when you vulture capitalists moved their jobs to China in the quest for huge increases in your own net worth. And let's not forget that the price for passing that extension was the "gift" of continuing the Bush tax cuts for you and the other vultures.
Mitt Romney lost because of his lies, his superior attitude toward hard working Americans, and because of all the hate he encouraged in bigoted people. His party needs to do some growing up, and start acting like they care about all, not just the wealthy, and for God's sake, start working across the isle to get something positive done for Americans.
The "Real" Romney laid bare by his own yapper, again. The contempt and dismissive core beliefs held by Romney for the American people is what cost him the election, coupled with that, the trust me I am a businessman and can fix the economy rhetoric with no specifics doomed his campaign. Unfortunately his belief system seem to shared by today's Republican party. Don't trust them to put America first before their party line. Vote 'em out. Oh Mr. President, I am still waiting for my gift, jeez.
And the Romney response: "We lost because of all of the gifts?" Oh brother! Obamacare was a gift? We all have been carrying everyone that doesn't have insurance through our yearly rate increases.That's been going on for years. Free birth control. That's been around for a long time. How about YOUR big gifts Mr. Romney? More tax breaks for the rich. Get rid of taxing the money made off-shore and capital gains. Cut inheritance taxes on huge estates. Get rid of the EPA and bank regulations.......on and on in adnauseam.
Romney did not lose the election because of gifts to minorities, he lost it through his own words that never divulged a proposal and continued to deny fact. Sorry to see this defeat did not rectify that fault or take the smirk of his lying lips. He needs to find out who he really is.
Here's my gift to the Republicans, Grover Norquist, Karl Rove, Sheldon Adelson and Rush Limbaugh. You lost! You Republicans lost your independent thinking because these people had control over you and your party. Now pay the price!
Mr. Romney's apparent egotistical, privileged, self-view is the very thing that makes his comments so hollow and divisive. One would really think that he, and the GOP, banked on his winning simply because he was white and rich. Now the shock exposes that neither of these attributes were worth "a dime" to him (as far as being President-elect goes), and brings him back to eschewing his own failure as a candidate by blaming it on those who voted on a consensus of opinion for America!
It is hopeful that now he and Mrs. Romney understand that really the "grown-ups" were re-elected to stay and govern with an even hand in the White House. They should also see that although Mrs. Romney wanted to talk about love -supposedly for a nation, at the GOP convention, that to quip the Beatles, "No, money can't buy you love." And moreover, Mrs. R., yes you and Mr. Romney told all of "us people" everything we needed to know! We will pray for your ability to come to grips with the reality that no one is granted "our turn" simply because "we, ourselves" feel it is right for everyone else. "Your turn" is granted when earned with the dignity, trust and honesty that you speak, rather than the doublespeak.

Today's Republican party reflects how much they hate Reagan for saying someone earning millions in capital gains should not be paying a lower tax rate than his secretary.

The real moochers are corporations, Romney and other wealthy individuals who offshore their money to avoid paying their fair share of taxes ($100 billion is lost annually).
The real moochers are corporations that send jobs overseas and receive $58 billion annually in tax breaks.
The real moochers are profitable oil, gas and coal companies that receive $11 billion annually in tax breaks and subsidies.
The real moochers are Wall Street and the big banks that received a $700 billion bailout; and large financial institutions, multinational corporations, and some of the wealthiest individuals that received $16 trillion in near-zero interest Fed loans.
The real moochers are Big Pharma, Big Agra and other industries that receive billions in subsidies.
The real moochers are Romney and other private equity managers that benefit from the carried interest loophole.
Top ten interests funding Romney/Ryan's campaign: securities/investment, insurance, health professionals, pharmaceuticals/health products, real estate, lawyers/law firms, manufacturing/distributing, finance, banks/credit, and oil/gas.

You're wrong Mark. We need his attitude and his know how in the W.H. We need some one who knows how a business needs to be run. This country needs a leader that can run it like a business and stop loosing money. Stop spending money on people who don't do anything to earn it. You may not like Romney or his ideas but he has showed that he can run a business and make it work. Success as a Governor and the way he ran the Olympics. What has Obama run? What experience does he have?

Oh and thier unemployment too. Same thing with the Olympics got the feds to save it. That's all he has ever done is stick somebody else with the bill and call it good management. He lost get over it.
