House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) suggested she would make her future plans known on Wednesday morning on Capitol Hill.
Pelosi, the first woman to ever serve as speaker of the House, answered a question about her intention to remain as House minority leader by inviting reporters to gather for a press conference tomorrow morning.
"I'll see you right here, 10 o'clock, tomorrow morning," she said. That would allow her to first confer with fellow Democrats.
The 72-year-old California Democrat served as speaker for two full terms, but remained as Democrats' leader in the House following Republicans' takeover of the chamber during the 2010 midterm elections.
Pelosi had scheduled leadership elections for a date slightly later than usual, prompting speculation that she might relinquish her role as the top Democrat in the House -- a position she has held for a decade. Wednesday marks the 10 year anniversary of her ascension to that position.
Her tenure was most memorably defined by her tenure as speaker during the first two years of President Barack Obama's first term, during which time Pelosi helped shepherd Obama's landmark health care reform law to passage.
Pelosi's departure could set off a tough battle between House Democrats to replace her. Among the candidates could be her No. 2, Minority Whip Steny Hoyer (D-Md.), Rep. Chris Van Hollen (D-Md.) or Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D-Fla.) -- among others.

For John in Battle Creek, et al, Maybe Ms Pelosi wasn't quoted correctly by Joan, but according to her own words on a you tube video, Nancy said, "We have to pass it before we know what's in it". Since the conversation concerned Obama care, I presumed that's what she was talking about, not her latest bowel movement.
Back in June, maybe July, the US Supreme Court ruled Obama Care, is, in fact, a tax.
Sometimes it's best to keep your head in the sand. It's better there then where it normally is.
And good riddance to Papa Johns and Appleby's employees. You were already overpriced, so why would you expect them to raise your pay a $1.97 per hour to cover your health care premium?
The Obama Care "law" is over 2700 pages. Have any of you made it through the first one hundred? I've read the whole thing, twice. Can't wait to see the reaction in 2014!

Jay-Let's talk about health insurance and this tax. I'm sick of free loaders refusing to purchase medical insurance and then walk into our ER's for the Flu or whatever. I'm sick of these same free loaders calling up a doctor and getting a reduced rate because these free loaders refuse to take personal responsibility and buy health insurance.
Let me educate you on how the healthcare system and health insurance works. My family has health insurance provided though an employer which we pay about $400 per month on. Then we pay a deductible. Then we pay 20% co-insurance. It totals about 10k per year out of pocket.
Now even though we are responsible and have ourselves insured, we get screwed from all the free loaders who refuse to take responsibility. Let me provide you with an example.
My husband was recently in a sleep study. The hospital billed our insurance $11,000. Our portion was around $3000 due to the deductible and co-insurance. Sounds like an awful lot of money to get hooked up to a machine and spend the night. So I called the hospital who did the sleep study and said I needed one but didn't have insurance so how much was it going to be? They quoted me $1700. So now I'm furious. I start doing the research to see how this all works and here's how it works. The hospitals and doctor's bill those with insurance 5x as much as they would charge an uninsured. Why? Because the real cost falls somewhere between the $1700 and the $11,000. So, us responsible people pay MORE to fund the free loaders. Get it now?

I thought that our sworn in leaders are under oath to tell the truth to the American people.
