Pelosi suggests she'll announce future intentions on Weds.

House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) suggested she would make her future plans known on Wednesday morning on Capitol Hill.

Pelosi, the first woman to ever serve as speaker of the House, answered a question about her intention to remain as House minority leader by inviting reporters to gather for a press conference tomorrow morning.

"I'll see you right here, 10 o'clock, tomorrow morning," she said. That would allow her to first confer with fellow Democrats.

The 72-year-old California Democrat served as speaker for two full terms, but remained as Democrats' leader in the House following Republicans' takeover of the chamber during the 2010 midterm elections.

Pelosi had scheduled leadership elections for a date slightly later than usual, prompting speculation that she might relinquish her role as the top Democrat in the House -- a position she has held for a decade. Wednesday marks the 10 year anniversary of her ascension to that position.

Her tenure was most memorably defined by her tenure as speaker during the first two years of President Barack Obama's first term, during which time Pelosi helped shepherd Obama's landmark health care reform law to passage.

Pelosi's departure could set off a tough battle between House Democrats to replace her. Among the candidates could be her No. 2, Minority Whip Steny Hoyer (D-Md.), Rep. Chris Van Hollen (D-Md.) or Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D-Fla.) -- among others.

All you have to do to wake up the trolls is mention Healthcare, Pelosi, Kennedy, Hillary, or Obama. They seem to be most vitriolic and crude when writing about the women.

Let's just keep it up...because they obviously "can't".

Agreed. Haven't seen this many angry White men up in a White woman's personal business since...last week.

The plan didn't come together as I recall.

Pelosi is just another example of how Obama has created a substantial displacement for the Democratic Parties leadership. The Party no longer has any political acumen in its insolent glory. The Party is in substantial trouble if the status quo continues another 4 years (and there really is no light at the end of the tunnel right now). Even now Democratic leaders are very fearful about the position Obama has put them in and they're bailing out daily. Don't look for Democratic leadership to support Obama's policies and spending habits over the next 4 years (good luck Sandy victims; you’re probably on your own). Obama’s definitely a lame-duck in a lame-duck term and he really has nowhere to hide. You Democrats would be wise to write your congressmen and tell them to get to work with the party across the aisle. Your Democratic Party is not in the secure position you claim you're in.

    Apparent typo in article:

"Her tenure was most memorably defined by her tenure as speaker during the first two years of President Barack Obama's first term, during which time Pelosi helped shepherd Obama's landmark health care reform law to passage."

Obviously should read 'ramrod' instead of 'shepherd' and 'first two dictatorial years' of Barack Obama's first term' or something to that effect. Every holy grail of the socialists that was possible to pass in two years was sought and passed: mandated insurance purchase, Obamacare, union theft of investor's equity in GMC along with the government takeover of the company followed by Obama sending 11 plants to China, government takeover of Freddie MAC, Fannie Mae, AIG, the entire Student Loan industry, an eroding national sovereignty through UN treaties, over 900 executive orders (almost ten times the number of all other previous presidents combined and in less than one term!) some of which ordered the violation of federal laws upheld by the Supreme Court...

This is the speaker who when asked by a reporter something to the effect, ~ 'Madame Speaker, a large portion of the country is against the Healthcare Act and question its Constitutionality; could you address their concerns by explaining under what provision of the Constitution the Act is made?' responded by saying, 'You must be joking; next question.' And that was to a friendly question!

Nancy Pelosi in NOT a Democratic leader. She is a close minded, arrogant, uncompromising woman, who thinks she know what is best for America. Her arrogance against the opposition, while she was Speaker, only made the Presidents agenda impossible. She did not do President Obama, or the nation, any favors by her arrogance, and insistance that its her way, or no way. Obamacare is not perfect, we all know that. I am not totally against the Healthcare reform act, BUT, more fair compromise, more fair negotiations, may have produced a package that was acceptable by more people. Her insistance that it be pushed through, basically, shoved down our throats, only set the stage for the stalemate on everything else the President proposed. She is (was) no leader!

"The 10 year Anniversary of Her Ascension to that Position".....kind of makes her sound like Jesus. (way to go MSN)...... Please retire Nancy ...you've lied to us all enough....You helped in a big way to get Obamacare passed before you (or any of the rest of us for that matter) knew what was in it or that "We the Sheeple" would be forced to pay for it whether we wanted it or not......wish there was some way we could make it "your retirement health insurance" but we know that will never happen. I was kind of hoping you WOULD retire BEFORE you let the rest of us know what your "plans" are......good riddance

WASHINGTON - A computer used by Paula Broadwell, the woman whose affair with CIA director General David Petraeus led to his resignation, contained substantial classified information that should have been stored under more secure conditions, law enforcement and national security officials said on Wednesday.

The contents of the classified material and how Broadwell acquired it remain under investigation, said the officials. They spoke on condition of anonymity because they are not authorized to comment publicly. But the quantity of classified material found on the computer was significant enough to warrant a continuing investigation, the officials told Reuters.
