Pelosi suggests she'll announce future intentions on Weds.

House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) suggested she would make her future plans known on Wednesday morning on Capitol Hill.

Pelosi, the first woman to ever serve as speaker of the House, answered a question about her intention to remain as House minority leader by inviting reporters to gather for a press conference tomorrow morning.

"I'll see you right here, 10 o'clock, tomorrow morning," she said. That would allow her to first confer with fellow Democrats.

The 72-year-old California Democrat served as speaker for two full terms, but remained as Democrats' leader in the House following Republicans' takeover of the chamber during the 2010 midterm elections.

Pelosi had scheduled leadership elections for a date slightly later than usual, prompting speculation that she might relinquish her role as the top Democrat in the House -- a position she has held for a decade. Wednesday marks the 10 year anniversary of her ascension to that position.

Her tenure was most memorably defined by her tenure as speaker during the first two years of President Barack Obama's first term, during which time Pelosi helped shepherd Obama's landmark health care reform law to passage.

Pelosi's departure could set off a tough battle between House Democrats to replace her. Among the candidates could be her No. 2, Minority Whip Steny Hoyer (D-Md.), Rep. Chris Van Hollen (D-Md.) or Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D-Fla.) -- among others.

Treasonous Over Benghaz,

OBAMA Beyond impeachment, Obama treasonous over Benghaz, When you put your own reelection above the good of your country and the lives of its citizens? If so, Barack Obama committed treason in leaving the four Americans to die in Benghazi.

Our Constitution defines it this way: “Treason against the United States, shall consist only in levying War against them, or in adhering to their Enemies, giving them Aid and Comfort.” Aid and comfort to the enemy — what is that? Your Spineless,

Hope she retires so obamacare can take care of her health needs. Bet she has not read the whole page on her health care bill she forced on us. Know that is not going to happen. This bill is a job killer, here in the state of washington jobs are down from 3% growth to1% on count of the obamacare health bill. The medical insurance cost on employees goes up 10 to 15% each year, good bye to you wages going up. Good luck job hunting you libs, because here in this democtae state jobs are far and few in between.

Keep going extremist liberal and the Democrats will definitely be in the minority in both houses again. Seems like they are only listening to the Special Interests anymore and not the common working person.

Nancy's an uncompromising, close minded turd. Retirement would be a very welcome announcement. Oh, and please take Mitch, Harry, BooHoo Boehner and a whole slew of other useless Representatives and Senators, on both sides of the aisle. There are too many elected officials who "represent" nobody except thier own narrow interests. We are where we are today because of them, not just because of Obama and Bush.

They are the disfunction in Washington. What a bunch of A-holes.

Go away Nancy, you are no longer needed. (if you ever really were)

      fasttime:

      Just wasting our resources.

What a typical hypocritical liberal response. What resources? A piece of printer paper? A bit of printer ink? Those resources? Those are not your resources. Those are not "our" resources. They are MY resources. I am free to use them in any way I see fit, nor do you have ANY authority to be telling me how to use the resources I bought and paid for. The government you worship is the most wasteful entity on the planet, and you complain about me? The delusions of liberals truly know no bounds.

You just have to remember you lost the election keep saying it over and over till you remember

Funny how when liberals are thrown out of power, they never seem to remember they lost an election. You lost the election in the house. It is controlled by Republicans. But, I'm willing to bet that if the House blocks the liberals, you won't just acquiesce and say, "oh gee, we lost the elections that controls the House, so we'll just fold our tent."

No, something tells me you, and certainly Nancy Pelosi, will never take your own advice....but it seems liberals are always more than willing to tell others what they should do.

As I said, typical hypocritical liberal response.

How is it that anyone in California can allow this person to represent them when she and her husband made millions on the stock market with inside information. If it were someone other than a member of the house or senate they would be prosecuted to the full extent of the law.

Hey, she's made a Billion for herself off of insider trading and government kickbacks via her position, and probably 3 or 4 times that for her family and friends. Of course, she did make it so such things were not illegal for her. The botox and facelifts are making her look sort of goofy. Having her staffer pour the bottle of hand sanitizer over her outstretched arms after walking off capital hill hand and hand with the black cuacus didn't help too much. The past week it seems the president is out to wipe out anyone who may have information about his activities and such, and Nancy would seem to be in the crosshairs. I'd take all the money and just go have a great time somewhere.

Pelosi is a corrupt individual who used her power for the benefit of herself and her family. I hope she faces judgment and ends up in the same very hot place where Ted Kennedy has gone.

In the meantime, however, the Republicans control the House and I don't give a damn what the shrieking harpy from California plans to do about her status in the minority party. If they were smart, the Democrats would ditch the witch. The elections of 2010 and 2012 have not confirmed HER leadership. Get a clue.

Like all other wealthy Democrats, she would destroy the free enterprise that has made her wealthy. She has also ripped off the people by charging many personal expenses to the Government. Pelosi is just another example of how Obama has created a substantial displacement for the Democratic Parties leadership. The Party no longer has any political acumen in its insolent glory. The Party is in substantial trouble if the status quo continues another 4 years (and there really is no light at the end of the tunnel right now). Even now Democratic leaders are very fearful about the position Obama has put them in and they're bailing out daily. Don't look for Democratic leadership to support Obama's policies and spending habits over the next 4 years (good luck Sandy victims; you’re probably on your own). Obama’s definitely a lame-duck in a lame-duck term and he really has nowhere to hide. You Democrats would be wise to write your congressmen and tell them to get to work with the party across the aisle. Your Democratic Party is not in the secure position you claim you're in.

dr821, I think you may be confused about which party would leave the Sandy victims "on your own"

Its been The Republiclown agenda, to stop funding relief programs. Democrats will always look out for thier neighbors. Remember you boy Mutts remark: "there are 47% of Americans, who consider themselves victims, and my job is NOT to worry about them" Aren't the folks devastated by Sandy, victims?

dr, you better think again about which party is in "substantial" trouble. Remember what happened 9 days ago?

I'll agree, Pelosi needs to go! She (and many others from both sides) are what is wrong with Washington.l

No. Obama hacked 1B out of FEMA. The Dems have limited the amounts of direct emergency relief aid. Romney wanted to cut back FEMA back to its organizational roles at the Federal level, and get the reilief aid back into the hands of the States and local governments to help people. FEMA is a continuing joke where a lot of relatives of friends of friends hold strange beaurocratic positions that serve no purpose. Every contractor has to have their strings and kickbacks lined up. Its just crazy. Your president took some pics and headed out of town for Vegas again. He never looked back, never mentioned Sandy, and could care less about people.

              Go Figure,

That sounds familiar. Obama did the same thing in Colorado this summer with the fires. He flew in, did some photo ops with local dignitaries and firemen, said he was here to help and that was the last we saw of him. It was all BS for votes and publicity, nothing more. He came back through in September and October during his campaign and never mentioned the fires and what he was doing to aid the victims and the state with the substantial loss.

I just read that Paylosi got a billion dollar grant to build a water pipeline out to her mansion in the middle of her cheap desert property that her railway will be going through.

My mom is being tossed out of the hospital today because the doctors had not been able to come up yet with a reason her kidneys had failed or a treatment to keep her in the hospital. She was there 36 hours. She has loads of health insurance, but now under obamacare, they have to go by the federal guidlines first, and apparently there are provisions for people over 55 without a specific diagnoses. I am learning.....

Go, there is no reason in the world, that your Mom should not get the proper care she deserves. And if she isn't. I am sorry. That is just not right in a nation with the best healthcare services on earth. My wife is a nursing director of a cardiac surgical ICU in one of the most prestigious hospitals in America. I hear all the time about such problems. This is not about Obamacare. This is about a system that is now, and always was, run by for profit insurance companies, that would rather see you fade away, than have to pay the bill. This is exactly why we need healthcare reform. This type of bandaid and boot-em healthcare has been going on well before the Obamacare ever came around. And, its just not right!

I hope and pray your Mom gets well.

                  #243.2 - Wed Nov 14, 2012 10:39 AM EST

I suppose you can think that. No stranger to fighting with an insurance company, but the government used to keep them in check so people didn't have to fight and fight and fight. I spent over two hours with the hospital rep, and a social service counselor. My mom has her full private insurance from working all her life, she also has my dads government private insurance from his working his entire life, and Medicare. Obamacare apparently has changed things greatly and will continue to change things. My mind was blown, but basically Medicare is responsible via the new Obamacare regulations, they then go after the private insurance for reimbursement although the private insurance companies are not allowed to provide the care which is outlined in their policies and once regulated by the government but is no longer being regulated as the private carriers are being taken out of the picture. It gets complicated. In all, old mom always made a supplemental payment for even extra benefits.... now they are being denied by the government, not the evil insurance companies. Just call around and ask yourself what is happening. The way it was explained to me is that we will eventually become a lot like Europe where people who can afford it will buy private policies, go to private doctors and hospitals to avoid the public systems. Mom is getting better. Thanks.

That is not necessarily true Shawn D. Obamacare has created a disconnect that is now manipulated by doctors and health-care services. It gives them the ability to drop insurance companies that aren't on their preferred list. My father just went through similar problems with his cardiologist of 19 years and now must find a new cardiologist in 30 days (very upsetting for an 88 year old). Obamacare is creating this disconnect between patient and doctor.
