Now that the election is over, attention turns to the fiscal cliff negotiations between President Obama and Congressional Republicans including House Speaker John Boehner (R-OH). NBC's Mark Murray questions whether either side learned lessons from the 2011 fight over raising the debt ceiling.
Video edited by NBC's Matt Loffman

OH... the drama!
President Obama is in the drivers seat, PERIOD!
Even John Bohner & Grover Norquist realize taxes will be going up on the 1%, it's only a matter of how they can spin it to the Greedy Old People while trying to save "face"! lol
Say, has Willard & Queen Annie filed their amended 2011 tax return yet?
I love this comment : )
The fiscal cliff is more like a 1 meter diving board.
They will kick the can down the road on the financial sequester until Mar-Apr.
If they can't reach a deal that allows all the tax cuts to be extended except the top bracket all the tax cuts will expire and then in Jan the Congress will vote for a tax cut for everyone except those making either over $250K or over $1 million, allowing Republicans to keep their Norquest pledge.
Thanks Ames! ☺
How do you know the tea baggers have officially lost their @!$%#?
Here's what King Grover had to say;
Not even a billion dollars could buy the tea baggers some love! lmao!
"a poopy head" Really, Feisty? Poor old Grover has officially gone bonkers!
Thank God Mitt and Ryan would not have a say in this. Common sense approach like President have suggested is the best way to go. But watch out for the drama filled house of John Bone head to want to pretend they've got an idea.
1 Let's raise taxes where needed and tax breaks for those who don't need it. e.g koch brothers, Adelson, Trump, Oil companies and WS.
2 Prune excess in the safe nets.
3 Retain the tax structures for the middle class and small businesses.
4 End all wars.
5 Tax reform for all.
Or as Barbour loudly proclaimed;
Finally, a GOP spokesman with eyes-wide-open.
How did I miss President Obama calling Romney a "poopy head?" Pretty sure I would have recalled that! Has Grover been drinking - yet again?
It is time for the GOPTP pledge signers to convert the pledge to good old toilet paper. There is a crack appearing in the GOP party and they need to wipe the slate clean.
right on! the prez is driving this agenda! give up pubs, your party is doomed!
Run the damn thing off the cliff. Picture old boehner driving with a smoke hanging out his mouth and old mitch seating next to him in the car as it going over the cliff. Saying maybe we should have worked with the President. Because they know history will look at them as the two men who caused the biggest tax hike and cuts in a long time. Come on boehner and old mitch show us your balls and stand your ground.
Thelma & Louis style... lol
Why do politicians require so much drama? This is a 'simple' cure. Obama does NOTHING and lets the Bush tax cuts expire. That's it! We're not getting a tax increase by doing this. We've been given a LONG tax break that will now expire. Why don't people understand that?
After the Bush tax cuts end, Obama is in a prime position to say, "Okay, let's negotiate" and get the Republicans to cooperate. If the Republicans don't want the full extent of the tax cut expiration to effect the rich, they will negotiate.
I'm really peeved that Social Security is even on the table. It should not even be an option! Cuts should come from the ways Social Security is being drained - SSI for one example.
And what about Welfare reform? When did welfare become a source of income for life? Set a time limit for collecting it, then you're done - sink or swim! Welfare is not a life-style, it's temporary assistance. Working Americans cannot afford to support the portion of society that just takes, and takes, and takes.
We also need to STOP giving assistance of any kind to illegals. If they want the benefits of American society, become Americans, contribute, and benefit LEGALLY!
How pleasant it is here. I was just over at Huffypost and all the righties seem to be having their hissy fits over there. Ariana, they are all yours ... enjoy.
There is a crack appearing in the GOP party and they need to wipe the slate clean.
RedDev, you are one wicked sonofagun! Don't ever change- we love you just the way you are.
Dennis,
How are you today, good I hope. I think the current so called Bush tax cuts will be extended for 3 to 6 months, along with the 2% social security cuts. Sequestration will also be kicked down the road for 3 to 6 months, allowing the new members of Congress to weight in.
Still all I hear from Obama is increase in taxes on the so called 1%ers (over 200K if single and 250K+ if married). I have seen nothing where he has agreed to look at entitlements and complete revision of the current tax codes.
As you know I have said on numerous occasions that I am not against increased taxes but ONLY after the tax codes are revised to eliminate subsidies, and loopholes. Further I still believe there is to much waste, fraud and duplication in current government programs. All agencies should be audited to eliminate waste, fraud, and duplication.
All of the discriminating people on here, shame on you!
Equal taxes for everyone.
No exceptions
can you handle that people?
BCWC, I stopped commenting on the Huff about a year ago, when it became too obvious to overlook that they're nothing but a stealth propaganda rag for the Right. The HuffPo is a Progressive news site in the same way that MoveOn is a Progressive organization, which is to say, not at all.
Look: We all know two central truths about Arianna. One, she is the center of the universe! Yes, it follows naturally that what's beneficial to Arianna is more so to us huddled masses, who she sees as being desperately in need of her magnanimous wisdom. Two, she's very wealthy and by-God intends to stay that way! Has everybody else forgotten her husband (whose name she continues to use even after their humiliating divorce) running for the U.S. Senate from California on a platform only slightly to the left of John Cornyn?I think it's maybe just a tad much to digest to believe that she had a road-to-Damascus moment which magically cured her megalomania and caused her to grow a heart where her greed formerly resided.
Nope... this old boy ain't buyin' what that dirty Quisling is sellin'.
Sarge,
He promised just last week a veto on any plan that did not include tax increases for the wealthy. If you truly want to address the tax code then offer an increase on the wealthy while new tax codes are being negotiated, debated and enacted … which might take a couple years.
President Obama’s plan to deal with entitlements hasn’t changed …
President Obama is pressing congressional leaders to consider a far-reaching debt-reduction plan that would force Democrats to accept major changes to Social Security and Medicare in exchange for Republican support for fresh tax revenue.
http://www.washingtonpost.com/business/economy/in-debt-talks-obama-offers-social-security-cuts/2011/07/06/gIQA2sFO1H_story.html
I got a kick out of Boehner saying 'the President needs to lead' on this issue.....
Boehner can't do his job as Speaker/Weeper of the House, but...
...Boehner, should deliver the House, minus TeaPeople.....Boehner, should work with Democrats in the house!
Norquist has the high phony to say he is FOR revenue via "economic growth" = Jobs. He even gives a figure of 4% - and tries to say the President is somehow against that.
The point is Norquist, GOP and followers BLOCKED our economic growth for four years. They blocked our avenues for revenue, and VOTED NO to EVERY JOBS BILL. They filibustered every time, even refusing to bring two million jobs in the President's AJA up for debate.
GOP did not help the US economic recovery, and openly blocked our recovery very step of the way. Their strategy did not work - as the President was re-elected - and thanks to his economic policies, the economy is due for a strong comeback.
Hey - to commemorate Veterans' Day, someone tell Poopy/Poopy/Poopy Norquist that GOP blocked the Veterans Jobs Bill a few weeks ago.
Fox - Some would call me a potty mouth - so I'll take wicked sonofagun as a compliment in high esteem!! Don't worry, I won't change : )
Dennis,
I am well aware that Obama promised a veto on any plan that did not include a tax increase on the wealthy. I also remember Obama making the same promise last year and then signing the extension by using unemployment as an excuse. Politicians constantly make promises and few are actually kept. The tax codes have to be a priority and could easily be done in less than a year. What programs or spending reductions have Obama and the Democrats presented in conjunction with a tax increase? I believe the Democrats promised Presidents Reagan and Bush 1, reductions in spending if they would agree to increasing taxes first, never happened. Politicians always find ways to spend any increase in revenues and rarely cut any programs.
BTW, I also remember Obama said that he was aware that increased revenue would only fund the government for a couple of weeks or so, but it was more of a FAIRNESS issue.
Sarge,
Just 2 weeks ago Republicans scoffed at the President's plan to consolidate 5 departments into 1. So just who is being sincere?
He had a $4 trillion plan on the table last year that was a 3:1 or 4:1 plan but Boehner's caucus didn't like the ":1" they want infinity to 0.0000001.
Weekly Standard Editor Bill Kristol said on Sunday that the Republican Party should stop defending "a bunch of millionaires" and let the Bush-era tax cuts expire for the wealthiest Americans.
"It won't kill the country if we raise taxes a little bit on millionaires," he said on Fox News Sunday. "It really won't, I don't think. I don't really understand why Republicans don't take Obama's offer to freeze taxes for everyone below $250,000."
He continued: "Really, the Republican Party is going to fall on its sword to defend a bunch of millionaires, half of whom voted Democratic and half of whom live in Hollywood?"
Republicans in Congress have been opposed to raising tax rates on the wealthiest Americans, but said recently that are open to new revenues by closing loopholes
What are we waiting for? Our future is bright only if we get hold of it.
Oh Sirie, everything you say makes me feel sooo guilty. I think I'll go stand in the corner and think about how wicked I am...
Steve Benen, The Maddow Blog:
The situation is common characterized as the "fiscal cliff." There is, however, a problem with the metaphor: it's misleading and more than a little absurd. Paul Krugman had a good piece on this the other day.

The drama isn't just with the GOP. It's with the inside the beltway media as well.
In the meantime, tax cuts for the rich Gone With The Wind. It's what EVERYBODY IN THE WORLD is expecting to happen.
It's one of the top (of many) reasons why we voted for President Obama and all the other democrats.
Pat Boston MA. - In the meantime, tax cuts for the rich Gone With The Wind. Now that's drama!
The other drama there is GOP trying to explain and convince their constituent (the rich folks).
As for Tax hike on the rich, it's a done deal.
Shiny objects.......Fiscal Cliff, David Petraeus.....shiny stuff......
I wonder what was in the e-mail from Paula to Jill.....something like "you better back off my man, David"!
....now that would be a real shiny object........guess it was enough to frighten Jill!
Lordy!
chilled - I don't really care about who shags who so far no national security information was compromised.
Perhaps Grover has poopy for brains.
I agree, just 24........ The e-mail is the stuff of soap operas...Paula scaring Jill enough for Jill to complain!
Shiny stuff!...Entertainment!..How two supposedly grown/intelligent women go stupid!
Job1 - Perhaps Grover has poopy for brains. I believe that would be a step UP for Grover!
Interesting that the Chamber of Commerce and CEOs are telling the Teapublicans we need revenue -- Not just 60% of the constituency -- And yet McConnell, Boehner/Cantor are still rejecting an increase in tax rates for those earning 250K (richest 2%).
We KNOW the small increase in tax rates from the 2001 Bush tax cuts back to Clinton-era rates will have zero impact of the richest 2% and economic recovery. We know increased tax rates plus an end to loopholes (per the 2003 Bush tax cuts) for the richest 2% (e.g., capital gains) won't be detrimental either.
I find it interesting how the rightwing bemoans earmarks, yet in comparison earmarks are a drop in the bucket compared to the loss in revenue from the richest 2%. These increases on rates and ending loopholes will not reduce the debt completely, but it sure would be a HUGE step toward doing so.
Eventually the rates and tax credits will need to be changed for the middle class as well, but IMO it shouldn't be done until after equal pay for women is passed, and the minimum wage is indexed to inflation, and we see wages for the working class finally start to increase.
In the meantime, I'm also torn about sequestration -- I realize many who are struggling would be hard hit, but imagine the cuts to defense! Okay, okay, we need a scalpel not a hatchet. But anyone who thinks McConnell isn't spewing BS about sequestration is a fool. Make these treasonous GOPers negotiate hard to prevent deep cuts to defense -- Make them go for the 4 Trillion Big Deal minus the Social Security trust fund.
sfcret -- We see you have been stuck in the Republican Twilight Zone. Even rightwing economists like Ben Stein say taxes must be raised on the rich. If folks are truly serious about the deficit, we need to raise BOTH tax rates and the tax base (end loopholes) on the rich, and then we need to make some serious cuts -- I vote to cut Homeland Security first.
And we will need to end tax credits for everyone else as well -- but preferably not until wages are addressed first via equal pay and minimum wage indexed to inflation. We can give small businesses (true small businesses) a break to off-set this as well.
But right now we need to invest to create jobs--good paying jobs for the middle class and not place more stress on those below 250K via a tax burden or austerity, or we will dip back into another recession. When the middle class does well, everyone does better, including the rich and businesses.
TruePatriot - It appears you and the left are stuck in the twilight zone. Changing the tax rates and tax base on the rich will do very little to help with the deficit. Why do the Democrats always want to raise taxes first, then work on so called spending cuts. Let's do both at the same time. If memory serves, didn't the Democrats promise both President Reagan and Bush 1, that they would reduce spending if only they got the tax cuts first. That didn't work out very well. BTW, even Obama admits the tax increases on the so called "1%ers" will do little to the deficit and he is pushing it more as a "fairness" issue to please his political base.
Let's cut out all subsidies for all businesses, especially alternative energy sources, big oil and farmers. Let's cut the loopholes and take a very close look at deductions. Lets stop the Earned Income Credit (EIC). Further we could cut all departments by 10 to 15% across the board, until a complete audit of each department is undertaken by GAO, and if GAO can't complete the job in one year, they can call in outside companies to help. I do agree with you on the Homeland Security being cut first.
Dennis - Sorry for the late reply, but you might want to check on who actually walked away from the deficit talks. I believe Obama and Boehner had an agreement but then Obama was told he was getting a better deal from the 6 Senators (gang of six), he then moved the goal posts and wanted more from the House. When the deal with the "gang of six" didn't work out he went back to Boehner and then it was to late. So there was plenty of blame on both sides. As far as consolidating 5 departments, that was basically a political talking point and nothing more. He never did mention the 5 departments except the Department of Commerce. Now that is has been reelected let's see if he is still interested in eliminating departments. Also he wanted a up or down vote on the consolidation of the departments without any changes or Congressional input. Spin it any way you want, Obama is President not King or Emperor, maybe the left will roll over and give Obama everything he wants but if he is not ready to show LEADERSHIP and a willingness to negotiate little will get done.
Speaking for myself, I'd be happy to pay the same rate that Romney pays.
Time to put the politics and ideologies aside and find a way to do the work they were elected to accomplish. The agenda has been outlined, and it is now time to move this country into the 21st century.
CRS study shows that there is no link between lower tax rates and job creation. There is no link between lower tax rates and anything jobs related. The only link with lower tax rates is a greater share of the wealth in the top .01 and .001 % of the population (went from .01% controlling 3-4% of the wealth under clinton tax rates to the .01% controlling 11% of the wealth under the bush tax rates). This study invalidates the entire conservative argument, and shows that their economic model is based on fantasy, not the reality we operate under.
End the enabling of aristocracy through tax policy, and watch the middle class, and therefore the country, thrive.
At what point does Grove Norquist go the way of Donald Trump? He's irrelevant and nearly insane. He has no right to ask anyone to sign any oath to him. Again, when will the DOJ do their job and indict him for treason? He is no one and has no right to ask any person voted into office by the US citizenry to pledge an oath of loyalty to him. It's treasonous at best.
Mr. Norquist jumped the shark this weekend by suggesting the reason the President won re-election was because the Obama Campaign made Mr. Romney out to be a "poopy-head".
If anyone is a "poopy head" its grover norquist.
Donald Trump is going the way of the Wig Party.
Poopy head - is Norquist 5 years old???? How far the "mighty" have fallen. Bet he lunches with Trump - regularly!
The celebratory mood of last week should be over now. Time to get to work. I would hope the lame duck can work together to get a deal accomplished. Both Reid and Boehner should hold their chambers open, don't let them go home for the holidays.
Interesting article on MSN, some GOP seem willing to take another look at the carbon tax for oil, coal and energy polluters to help gain revenue. Could cap and trade be a way for them to allow more revenue from faceless megacorporations while sparing their precious 1% individuals?
It appears as if some GOP are willing to look at increased revenue outside of the faux meme of lowering rates/to increase revenues and broaden the base. Even Bill Kristol Weekly Standard agreed that republicans should accept higher taxes on the 1%. Increased taxes on the 1% will not hamper the continued recovery. If the GOP fails to accept Obama's plan on increased revenues along with spending cuts it looks like all of our rates go up in Jan. If all the Bush tax cuts lapse that will not kill the continued recovery either. I still believe we are better served if all $480 billion of annual tax cuts don't go to the deficit. Wouldn't it be nice with increase revenue from all of us and smart spending cuts to bring our deficit down to say $500 billion or less? If the working class and lower class lets say $50k and down needs to keep their deductions, home mortgage, child credit etc have Congress pass that in Jan. As a middle class American I am willing to pay more taxes. Don't need Bush' tax cuts or deductions. I can pass on Obama's as well.
Country first.
I'm with you, Yellowdog.
Anyone else having trouble with First Read formatting today? It keeps going haywire!
This is so amusing .
Oh lawd, the one-line rereg bigben is back again in yet another ChicagoBabe style post. That is amusing.
RedDev - how do you know who that is???? I'm sooooo intrigued!
Regarding Social Security: The system is solvent and will remain so for a while yet. It adds nothing to the deficit; that's another of the Right's Big Lies, like death panels and a secret plot in Benghazi to eliminate the Ambassador (or whatever freaky theory they're peddling this week). To guarantee the continued solvency of SS, we have to first of all remove the wage ceiling, making all salaries subject to SS witholding for as high as they go.
As for Medicare, what would be wrong with a modest tax increase on top of the repeal of the Bush tax cuts? You remember- those tax cuts that were supposed to be temporary until the Rethuglicans threatened to kill the extension of unemployment unless those "temporary" tax cuts were extended? That's how it happened, Republican voters on this thread- the Party of No was perfectly happy to see millions of unemployed Americans left with no income at all in order to spare their billionaire patrons having to pay even a little bit more. That is reality. Deal with it.
Back to that tax hike: I volunteered to have my taxes bumped up by 1% in order to stimulate the economy and help retire the debt, calling it the "+1% plan." To my utter unsurprise, all of the positive feedback and support I got came from Liberals- the conservatives on this site all offered up a breakfast buffet of weak-ass excuses, all of which translated to, "I think the deficit is serious enough to beat the President over the head with, but not serious enough to make me participate in any meaningful action to reduce it." Here are your patriots, America- they think they're entitled to all of the benefits of living in a free society, but they're hell-bent against accepting any of the responsibilities that that entails.
My income is derived from fixing big grey ships loaded with stuff that goes "BANG!", but we are going to have to make some defense cuts somewhere. Active duty pay and veteran's benefits ain't that place. If anything, we should maybe cut back on a few of the gee-whiz items to pay for better enlisted pay (which will be spent, further increasing economic activity) and greatly improved healthcare for vets (because if we can't look after our wounded warriors, we can't hold up our heads as a nation).
Subsidies to Big Energy and Big Ag are topics for another day. Everybody's thoughts are welcome. Peace!
The House Republicans have to realize that the ball is in their court; they can go with the wishes of the people and the President or they can dig in with their uncompromising stance and see their numbers decrease even more the next election. Over 60% of those responding to exit polls believe that the tax revenues need to be more fair and equitable.
The response that I have been seeing on these blogs seem to be in favor of everyone paying a little more; but especially those that have benefited for too long with the current tax rates and codes. Closing the tax breaks for large corporations whose profits keep growing need to be reviewed. I know there are programs that need to be re-evaluated on the spending side. But these cuts cannot be to programs that provide safety nets to those citizens that truly need them. Find the fraud in these programs and eliminate that but do not take away good programs that bad people use to their own means. However, we cannot afford to eliminate those programs that protect our elderly, our children, our veterans, our workers, our education, our environment, our human rights, etc. These cannot be quantified with a dollar value for what they accomplish in the lives of many; but in our hearts, we know they are the right things to do. It is time for everyone to step up and help our country get back to the fiscally sound nation that can do great things for all its citizens.
Bless all our veterans on this day!
Thank you Donna! Someone that is not a hate monger, good to see it! Everyone should pay the same percentage of taxes, right people? That is what is fair!
I see so many dispicable people on here, treating others unjustly and thinking that they are doing the right thing!
Fox - I fully agree with you ideas. The problem with Medicare is we implemented PartD without a corresponding increase to cover the expense. The solution is quite simple, bump up the withholding tax by .5% or whatever increase is needed to cover the expanded care.
Social Security - easy fix. Raise the cap.
Public Dept - easy fix. Raise taxes. We have two wars to pay for.
The GOPTP love to scream and shout about lazy libs and free stuff - well folks, I hate to tell you, but you have two WARS and Medicare Part D given to you free. Come to find out, it wasn't so free - and now it is time for all Americans to ante up. The only thing to balance here is how to start paying for those Bush era freebies without dragging the country away from our economic recovery.
Sirie, having just read Donna's comment for the third time, I must admit that nowhere in her coherent and reasonable comments did I see anything even remotely resembling support for a flat tax. Even though you didn't use the exact phrase, "flat tax", that is nontheless what you are proposing.
The idea of a flat tax is so awful, and such a non-starter, that nobody except Steve Forbes has suggested or championed anything of the sort in a very long time. Allow me to illustrate:
A person living in the Worker's Paradise- that would be Rick Perry's Texas- who works one full-time job and is paid minimum wage, as so many Texans are, grosses $16,120/yr. Currently, that person pays no income tax, making her part of the 47%. If she has kids, she'll qualify for food stamps as well. If we ask this "welfare queen" to "have some skin in the game" by taxing her at the rate I pay, about 18.5%, that leaves her with $13,299 net, or some $255/wk. Even in Texas, one simply cannot scrape by on that. No way.
Now, if we take the mid-level marketing exec at Microsoft, he's making about $210,000/yr. (In case you were wondering where I got that figure- I asked one.) Less that same rate, 18.5%, our white-collar Redmondite is netting $173,250; plenty there for a house with a Sound view and private schools for the kids. If we propose to tax a Wall Street exec, who gets bonuses in the low seven-figure range, even when he causes his company to fail, that 18.5% is basically chump change. He'll barely miss it.
Now, like Yellowdog and many other of my Fellow Travellers, I'm perfectly happy to see my taxes bumped up by a percent or two; I like living in a place where the roads are driveable, the water is safe to drink, and the cops don't set up roadblocks to extort money from random passers-by, and I understand that income tax is how I pay for those everyday benefits and many more besides.
I do not agree with you, Sirie, that a flat tax is inherently more fair than the graduated system we have now. I do agree with pretty much everybody here that the system is in dire need of a complete overhaul. Please note that I am merely stating the nature of my disagreement and am not getting personal about it; I think we can, and should, do better than that.
I think the "middle class and rich white male republican backlash" should be this:
The white men should stop joining the military. Tell your sons and daughters you are not fighting for Amerika anymore, since it is being run by a political cabal headed by Barack and his democrap minions.....
The white men should sit back and let's see the 70% of all women, latinos, mexicans and 95% of the blacks storm the beaches next time the country is at war while we sit back............be fun to watch a re-enactment of Normandy World War II Style...........I bet the Nazis would "crush" them all into the sea. Yeah, we'll just sit back and relax and ride the gravy train which is what they've been good at..........
The white men should just sit back and watch these democrap idiots make a mess of everything while we plan the new country, once this one implodes from within...........
The white male merchants nationwide should all close down shop for one full week and stop paying their sales taxes, state and federal taxes and this country would come screeching to a halt. We'll see who has the real power. And 57 MILLION Americans who voted for Mitt Romney can't all be wrong............
Let's face it: Everyone knows Barack Obama is a lousy President except his minions and brainwashed "young Hitler Youth followers" that are drinking the koolaid.
I don't think that Obama-Bozo barely winning by 2% of the vote with the help of voter fraud and the national liberal press hardly should be categorized as "republicans being crushed". Laughable and a juvenile headline yes, probably written by a snot-nosed liberal activist turned reporter so he can pay his low rent.
This is just the lame sophomoric headline of the so-called journalist as he masturbates to himself, hoping and praying that his headline is actually true to all the people.............which it is not........while he thinks of Obama as the love of his life. Talk about deceiving yourself...............
So the democraps won a few contested and rigged elections ehhh comrades? Feels good to win when many voting machines were rigged in your favor am I right..........? Good little democrap. Keep thinking that.......so what if the Republicans don't win a silly Presidential election?
We still control much of the countryside and the cities so be careful when you tread outside of your big fat bloated blue states..........check yourself or we will checkmate you.
OBAMA Re-election = Economic Depression for the United States
Get ready for 20% unemployment
Get ready for NO real sustainable economic growth.
roaminseizure - another ignorant, violent redneck conservative who's mad his side lost again. why don't you hold your breath until you turn black.
Yes! I think it is HIGH TIME the little ball-busting femi-nazi women, the entitlement mexicans and their "latino" amigos (como senor?) and the blacks as well as their brethern the black panthers fight tne next wars of this country.............since they are all on TV saying how great they are, they can take the bullets from now on. The White European man will take a nice well-deserved vacation.............
We made this country into a superpower in less than a 100 years.
"Whitey" will take his money and his jobs elsewhere...........so you didn't really think we'd keep employing you malcontents "that hate whitey" did you?? LMFAO!! Bahahahaha..............."no way jose!" as they say.............!
Good luck Senor!
Good luck Playa! yo yo yo.........................umhmmmm!!
And you Asians voted 70% for Barack Obama too............no more chinese buffet for you!
"Round-eye" has better things to do.............! ;)
LONG LIVE ROME!!
WHILE BARACK OBAMA FIDDLES, ROME BURNS.........................
At least General Petraeus got a great piece of ass in all of this.................!
I think he was set up. I do not believe ANYTHING precious Barack Obama says......I think Petraeus is their "fall guy" for the Benghazi FIASCO where our U.S. Ambassador was murdered in the streets as well as three other Americans............hmm.............I smell another Barack Hussein Obama scandal here.
Sorry Barack! Not buying it you trick. You have lost all credibility with many American people. Petraeus was set up or agreed to take the fall for YOU.............not buying this story at all..............do not believe the liberal east coast elite press. They lie like a rug..........................!
I was most definitely not talking about a flat tax rate. I was saying that we all needed to be willing to accept a slight increase in our tax rates within each tax bracket. A flat tax rate is considered a regressive tax; not one that I would support. Thanks Fox for calling Sirie on that; I had stepped away for awhile and didn't get to read the response until now.
What is wrong with those who have benefited from the tax codes and tax rates of the past decade or so having to chip in a little bit more than those who have consistently paid a higher percentage of their AGI in taxes than the very wealthy? The middle class deserves the advantages of some tax codes and tax rates; it's our turn.
The idea that everyone pays a little bit more is only ludicrous to those greedy people who won't budge one iota.
roman it is quite obvious by your posts that you are a little bent out of shape with the outcome of this election. Sorry bout that! But a MAJORITY of the American citizens voted for President Obama; that's a win! So turn off Fox News; go to church and think about what hate can do to your soul; then thank the Lord that you live in a country where the will of the majority determines our government (not who writes the biggest check). Your bigotry towards everyone who isn't white is quite apparent in your posts. You must be a very sad person to know.
Well now we have just decided to move our company convention from Las Vegas to Phoenix.
Gee sorry Vegas! We did not think we would be welcome there.......plus you don't "need us" remember? You all voted for Obama and went blue............so we will spend our dollars in a nice red state at a gorgeous resort.
Remember, don't fret about it...........when you lose your job just ask Obama for one! He'll help you out! :)
I'm sure Adelson will be sad that you couldn't come to Vegas and help him out. He spent all that money on the wrong candidates. Perhaps you should have contacted him; he might have made you a deal. But enjoy Arizona; each state needs a boost to its economy. I live in a red state; sorry your company won't be coming here--NOT!! We have enough of your hate-filled people here in Missouri. Enjoy yourself; is that even possible with your condition--hatred?
Obama is Santa Claus to all his minions yet his presents were bought on borrowed luck and time......and money.
Hmmmm...............pretty soon he'll end up being Scrooge once he realizes he has no money to pay his bills!
It's getting cold outside yet I hear Christmas bells chiming in the distance.......
The merry elves are his little "Hitler Youth" followers who dance in the streets and play in the snow oblivious to the economic reality....but they don't care and why should they? Their Messiah is in the highest office in the land! And the people dance and cheer and laugh out loud.........hee hee heee!.....CNN is there to film them as they jump up and down......my my what a spectacle.........well, the reindeer are ready but there is no where to go......Obama has many promises to keep this time of year.........
Let's see if Santa Barack delivers our presents on time? HO HO HO!!!
Gee Democraps, where is all the love bros............?
I thought you guys were all about "hope and change" huh?
Como?
I fully expert you democraps to be clutching your Obama vote with fists clenched tight when you lose your job in 2013. Don't let us down...........! And do not waver in the face of adversity!
Well you bought Obama's line of bull............so you have made your pigpen, and now you have to lie in that excrement for the next four years. Enjoy it comrade.
We'll all be laughing at you drinking mai tai's.................! Party on!
Hello Donna! Glad I didn't misunderstand your post above; when I called you "coherent and reasonable", it was because you seemed to be making some of the same points that were made by Yellowdog and myself. Welcome to the America First Community Interest Don't Be A D***head club!
It hardly needs to be said that Roman Seizure won't be getting an invitation to join. It's sad that such low, ignorant, mean and downright ugly people still exist in our fair land; but it's downright tragic that a swine like Roman will be sharing in the prosperity that's still to come as we move away from the oligarchic system that's taken over since Reagan, and towards a more Socialized economy. If only we could limit his opportunities according to his karma... well, I reckon that's in God's hands.
Roman Seizure; my fondest wish for you, sir, is that someday soon, your daughter will call you, bubbling with excitement, to pass along the glad tidings that she's expecting a baby with her boyfriend, who is an Ethiopian Jew majoring in Political Science at Berkely, and that they're going to be married by a Wiccan priestess (who happens to be a lesbian), and she wants you to give her away, but there won't be any pork rinds at the wedding buffet because they're Vegan...oh, and you have to ride a bike to get to the ceremony- carbon footprint and all that, don't you know. Oh, and the Gay Men's Choir that your son just joined will be performing at the reception!
Stand by for some utterly unhinged and profane rant from Roman... with any luck, the silly b*****d will get himself banned soon.
Fox - Good God, Buddha, Mohamed, whatever! That was one of the funniest responses to an obnoxious ReReg I have ever read! It was a very good thing I swallowed my mouthful of beer just before I read your post! Keep up the great posts!
Thank you, Holy- every once in a while I can feel the spirit of Mark Twain (no lover of bullies and hypocrites, he) breathing gently into my ear.
As for RomanSiezure- "Perhaps it will help to confuse it if we run away some more!"
"Oh, shut up and go change your armour."
Now I hear that Obama is comparing himself to Abraham Lincoln!!
That FOOL Obama! He is not fit to tie Lincoln's shoes!
FoxTrotsky is a communist! haha
you make me laugh you little imbecile. Nice fiction you write.
Wrong again, sir- not a Bolshevik like my namesake, I am instead a Socialist, voting Democratic while I bide my time and nudge the party ever more to the left, and closer to my- our- ultimate goal of utterly destroying the evil system of Capitalism and replacing it with a humane, sustainable economy.
Best enjoy your guns and massive, loud, fuel-gulping 4X4 while you can, amigo! Because after the Revolution, I'll be coming to personally build a bonfire and burn the lot! Until then, my friend:
Jesus loves you. Everybody else thinks you're an a*****e.
