RIP America...
Hello Europe!!
I take it Maxx thinks an Obama presidency is a threat to our Judeo-Christian values, either that, or he's the CFO of Karl Rove's Crossroads. (The billionaires want the money they gave you back!)
Don't let the door hit you...
Lets ignore Maxx Power and all the other naysayers and get to work making our country better.
Ignoring your opposition is the repeated mistake of the liberal mind. We need to start examining the malevolence of their motives and beliefs while we have the power to expose them and legally punish them for what they actually are; conmen, theocratic posers, nazis, racists, endtimers, birthers, anti-science, zionists, etc.
Ignoring things just makes you an ignorant. Let us all wake up and face facts.
Paul you're sounding like them. Forgive your fellow man, ignore those that can't be forgiven.
Great idea, Paul, initiate political persecution and have political prisoners in the USA. Shrewd.
YOUR Sticking your head in the sand is what got us to where we are now, the edge of a precipice. $16 TTTrillion in debt, and gridlock in the Congress over how to fix the mess. What half of you don't realize is that the Paul Ryans of the world don't want to fix anything, they want the whole thing to come crashing down. That's criminal. They deserve LEGAL punishment, not political persecution; that would indeed be pointless. These RE-peat-the-lies-to-the-PUBLIC-ans are like termites. If you ignore them, they feast on what you build while they tear it down.
Paul: You might have the worst case of tunnelvision I've ever seen. You assume that your side never lies and is as pure as the wind-driven snow. Allow me some easy examples: Obama promised to close Gitmo, it's still open. He promised to slash the debt/deficit, it's bigger than ever (33% bigger in four years). Transparency?
Paul, we liberals did not ignore the opposition. On the contrary. We heard them loud and clear and we fought back hard, and today we bask in the warm glow of a historic re-election of a president who works everyday to fight for those whose voices have been suppressed. The middle class.
Congratulations, Mr. President! You've done our country proud.
Tunnel vision my ass, it is called FOCUS. Obama's "promising" to close GITMO was blocked by the congress. He may still get it closed, but he didn't change his mind on whether it should be closed. That is what would have made his "promise" a LIE, dimwit, intent. He "promised" to reduce the deficit , not the debt, dimwit. If the deficit is only $100 for the year, it still adds to the debt. Again Congress controls the purse strings. We had to spend money getting the "car out of the ditch and repaired", thanks to Bush and GRAMM(R)LEACH(R)BLILEY(R). The extra cost to fix the BUSH mess is on BUSH, not Obama. Is this too tough for you to understand?
If McCain had stolen the election, the debt would have risen by $8 TTTrillion and you wouldn't have complained a bit. Yes, Democrats "buy" votes by supporting social 'welfare" programs. They don't lie about that. Nothing stops Repukes from doing the same thing , except that they have built their party around Economic Social Darwinism where the white man gets an enormous economic headstart on everyone else.
Paul, until a person is sworn in as President they aren't privy to certain information. Perhaps he found out something he didn't know and thus made a promise to do something that, at the time, he didn't know he couldn't do for some reason known only to a few people. Every president promises this or that not knowing certain state secrets that prevent them from keeping that promise. Obama is no different in this regard.
The election is over, King Barry and Queen Mooooochelle have been installed for another four years. The people spoke, so be it.
Now Barry is the owner of the economy, he can't blame anyone for the spending, so now what will he do?
Now that the election is over, will we finally have Congress pass a budget? Will we see the reason why Harry Reid stalled it for two years? Will liberals be shocked that their money will now be distributed as the 1% will be?
Rather than ignore Congress, will Barry MOVE FORWARD to work with legislators of both sides to pass legislation that's GOOD for the nation? Or, will he continue to use his Czars and Senate leaders to do as he says?
Okay Barry, you have a do-over, where's the jobs?
The BBC is pointing to President Obama's understanding of and embracing of diversity as the reason for his victory. They also state that world wide governments are heaving sighs of relief as they don't want to have to get used to another regime nor fear the threat of another cold war beginning. Iranians are relieved that there will be more peaceful solutions to issues between the US and Iran. Congratualtions are coming from all corners of the globe.
Mr. Obama, according to BBC, is seen in Europe as being very helpful in solving Eurozone financial problems and that they are looking forward to continuing to work with his Administration on Eurozone issues.
While realizing that President Obama will need to concentrate more on domestic problems countries in the Middle East, Africa, Europe and the Far East have all expressed their relief that President Obama won reelection.
Ron Indiana says, "Watching the people in the background at the Romney concession speech one could see mostly old white men. Their days are numbered."
As an "old white man," I've voted for Obama for President twice now. I voted for Elizabeth Warren in this election. I voted for Martha Coakley who was defeated by Scott Brown (aging white man) in Massachusetts's 2008 Senate race. My voting record has helped keep "old white men" out of power whenever a "non-old, non-white, non-man" candidate was a political option. I'm a proud Lefty, always have been, and always will be.
The demographic victories represented through minority groups in this election is a bright light that moves us forward as a people and a nation. It is something to celebrate. It's empowering for everyone. It's a trend that must and will continue, and something to be proud of.
What I'm not so proud of, unfortunately, is the trend by my fellow Lefties to use race, age, gender, ethnicity, and sexuality as divisive weapons, i.e., to use race, age, gender, ethnicity, and sexuality in the manner that conservatives too often do.
When I read Ron Indiana's use of "old white men" in the above, I wondered why is that phrase acceptable to throw around as a derisive? Is it simply because our political rivals fit this demographic profile more than "we" do? What would the reaction be if someone like Mitch McConnell used the phrase "young black lesbian" in a derisive manner?
Perhaps being a member of a non-majority group provides certain dispensations in this regard, namely, the irreproachable use of racialized-genderized-agized language to paint a particular demographic group as evil, aka those with whom "we" disagree. I understand the argument but sharply disagree. Besides, we have no idea in which demographic group Ron Indiana fits.
One of the things you would hope was gained from this election, and many others like it, is a mature sense of what these demographic gains mean in terms of who we are and should be as a people, how we should see one another as a people, and how we should treat one another regardless of our demographics.
Kind regards,
Mature male of European descent
dothemaths, I am also an old whit man and voted for Obama twice.
