NBC's Mark Murray reporting from New York highlights the questions that today's election has the possibility to answer.

Video edited by NBC's Jordan Frasier.

Will the polls be right? Is the media telling the truth. Also did the populace believe the least transparent candidate in history, someone who ran from reporters.

What I told you was true from a certain point of view...

Mytth has been lying his arse off...throughout the campaign...

Mitt was against auto bailout, but instead of criticizing Pres. O for moving jobs overseas. It's really Obama's auto bailout that has saved jobs in Ohio, Michigan, and some other states.

Mytth is a professional liar - a hall-of-famer liar.

Ironically, I watched Revenge of the Sith again last night.

It's sort of amazing that in the movie, the Emperor didn't even try to be subtle, because he knew he didn't have to be because Anakin was so frickin' stupid.

Will the polls be right? They certainly have changed as the race narrows to crunch time. Must keep objectivity as they go to the wire.

Is the media telling the truth? Come on, when has the libbie media ever told the truth?

Has Obama run from the media? No, he avoids them. But we do have smiling Biden who continually ads humor to his side with his mis-stated facts and gaffs. Gotta like the idiot.

Whomever wins will have a difficult time repairing the nation. If Barry is elected, who will he blame for the problems of the previous four years? It's his economy, lack of jobs, rising expense of government, and a lack of foreign/domestic policies.

If Romney wins, he must reach across the aisle to engage the party of NO. If they choose not to be engaged, they're voted out in the mid-terms.

I really don't care whom you vote for - just do it! Many paid the supreme sacrifice for you to have this right.

As a side-bar, congratulations to the OLD GUARD who stood their posts during the hurricane, walking their post at the Tomb of the Unknowns.

Why did it take a hurricane, hitting the heart of the media world, Manhatten, to provoke a few political journalists to utter the phrase "global warming?"

Does the media feel any obligation, whatsoever, to focus coverage on issues of substance, or is it better for their bottomline to treat elections like just another form of entertainment, a really tedious reality show?

The last guy that cried on the campaign trail, Edmond Muskie, went down in flames. And certainly Mr. Obama was not crying because this was his last campaign stop (albeit, he has spent a considerable amount of his presidency campaigning). He was crying because he obviously fears he is about to lose. And when he does lose he will have no one but himself to blame. His campaign was based purely on attacks and he offered no vision or plan for the future. He tried to, again, run on a slogan, Forward, but all the voters could see was the country going forward into the financial abyss if Mr. Obama were to be reelected. If you were to ask today, election day, Mr. Obama's most ardent supporters what are the specifics of his plan to reduce the national debt, stop deficit spending and create private sector jobs, deal with trade, etc... all you would get are blank stares or maybe some canned talking points devoid of any substance whatsoever. No wonder he wants to play basketball, he has nothing to talk about and offers no leadership. And when you waste a golden opportunity to provide leadership to the greatest country on earth that's something to cry about.

Michael T - I actually think that story line wise - Revenge of the Sith was the strongest of series, although I liked Empire the best.

My post was to see if the sides could read whatever they wanted into it. Some seeing Romney others Obama as running from the Press and not being transparent.

If Obama should win re-election I hope for the following during his next four years:

1. Introduce and pass real energy plan climate change legislation.

2. Implement Bowles Simpson type plan cut spending raise taxes/all Bush Tax cuts gone.

3. Pass jobs bank legislation to address our declining infrastructure.

4. Introduce and pass comprehensive immigration reform legislation.

5. End Afganistan war, curtail/repeal patriot act and NDAA.

Why do you think that an obstinate congress not working with Obama means he should be voted out, but an obstinate congress not working with Romney means congress should be voted out? You make absolutely no sense whatsoever. Just like your comment about the liberal media - Fox and Rush told you to think that way and you follow blindly? Just because the media is not heavily biased toward your point of view that mean Fox,Rush, and Beck are the only trustworthy news sources? Then why is Fox banned in Canada?

You really are funny - and that's NOT a compliment.

Yellowdog:

I'd like to see Obama veto anything put in front of him for the first 6 months. Let the Bush tax cuts lapse and let the mandatory spending cuts go into effect. Demand tax reform before signing any other bills, then SS reform, welfare reform, and finally immigration reform. Don't allow anything to happen until they start doing the things they're supposed to do.

I also think Obama needs to call out the House for its lack of work ethic. Make public statements about how little they do and ask them what they're waiting for?

Alan,NJ - Much as anything else a multi pronged approach.

Increase border patrol security to curtail people's migration. Harshen employeer fines and sentences for illegally hiring undocumented workers, making it unecomomical for employeers to do so. Increase the number of legal applications for work visas and permits. Create a legal guest worker permit for those who seasonally want to work to help construction, farming communities. Implement the dream act as outlined by the democrats. Pass legislation that allows people already here on a pathway to citizenship - Pay fines, get names into system allowing them to pay fed. income taxes, place in line behind legal immigrants. Progressives might shout murder but some sort of E verify system may play a role to differientiate. The guest workers and the pathway folks along with the increased quota folks would have documentation.

Will it stop everyone from coming across, no. However, if employeers don't hire newly arrived immigrants that aren't part of the guest worker program and newly work permited people already here new instances of undocumeted immigrants will stop.

One would have to watch something other than Fox Entertainment T.V. to know about the voter suppression tactics, the voter intimidation, the very questionable poll watchers on the right, those being paid by the right to hold up the line, those on the right holding up the line out of their own mean spirited hearts, what Republican Governors and Republican Secretaries of State have done in swing states and battleground states is nothing short of trying to suppress the vote. But, of course, the RWNJ's on this site will call it all bull@!$%# because they watch FOX.

PICKET: GOP - Poll watcher in Detroit threatened with gun, 911 call rejected

By Kerry Picket - The Washington Times

    November 6, 2012, 12:29PM

Tensions are high all over the country at the polls today. The Michigan Republican Party is alleging that a poll watcher in Detroit on Tuesday morning was threatened with a gun. According to the Michigan GOP the poll watcher's 911 call was rejected. Below is a press release from Michigan Republican Party spokesman Matt Frendeway:

This morning, a legally credentialed poll watcher was threatened and intimidated while attempting to perform his legally allowed duties of observing the election process at precinct polling location 289 in Detroit. The poll watcher, a lawyer, was confronted by a voter in line, who demanded the poll watcher produce his credentials, which he did.

However, the voter said that wasn’t good enough and that he had “a badge and a gun” and told the poll watcher get out of the precinct. Rather than allow the situation to escalate, the poll watcher left before the voter produced a badge or brandished a gun. Fearing for his safety, the poll watcher exited and called 911, however the Detroit Police refused to respond to the call – neglecting the fact that a voter alleged to have a ‘badge’ and a ‘gun’ in a precinct, putting other voters at risk.

Michigan Republican Party Chairman Bobby Schostak issued a statement concerning the issue the following statement:“Poll watchers, precinct workers and voters should not be put in danger when performing their duties, our Republic requires free and fair elections.

“I can only hope that this morning’s outlandish, reckless and dangerous behavior, was not part of a coordinated effort by the Democratic Party and therefore, I am calling on Mark Brewer, Democratic Party Chairman, to condemn these threats of violence and pledge to ensuring all election workers, volunteers and citizens remain safe.”

Funny business in Philly: GOP officials booted, Black Panthers return -- and Obama at polling site?

    Published November 06, 2012

    • Shown here is a polling site in Philadelphia with a mural of President Obama.

Operators of a Philadelphia polling place have been ordered by a judge to cover up a mural of President Obama that is emblazoned on a wall behind the voting machines.

The mural was being covered by voter instruction posters -- after Republicans voiced concerns that the painting could influence voters.

The mural, apparently at a school being used as a polling site in Ward 35, contained the words "change!" and "hope," along with a quote from the president and painting of him.

Republicans quickly drew attention to the image Tuesday morning, with one Mitt Romney spokesman tweeting: "Voters in Philly's Ward 35 are being forced to cast their ballots next to this."

"It is an absolute disgrace," said Shannon Royer, deputy secretary for external affairs and elections in Pennsylvania. "Election materials and electioneering inside the polling place are prohibited by state law. This can be interpreted as trying to influence voters inside the polling place. I am told discussions are going on now about covering the mural."

Pennsylvania election law states "no person within a polling place may electioneer or solicit votes for any political party, political body, or candidate, nor may any unauthorized written or printed materials be posted within the polling place."

Follow the 2012 Pennsylvania state race on FoxNews.com

It was one of several controversies surfacing in Pennsylvania's largest city on Election Day.

A Pennsylvania judge also issued an order Tuesday to reinstate Republican election officials across Philadelphia who allegedly were ejected or refused entry by on-site Democratic voting chief judges.

One Republican official claimed that "just under 70" Republican election officials were blocked from Philadelphia polling sites Tuesday morning by Democrats on site. One of them, the official claimed, "was shoved out of the polling place."

"For this many inspectors to be ejected from polling places is rare, even for Philadelphia," the official told FoxNews.com.

Elsewhere in the city, a representative from the New Black Panther Party was also spotted outside a polling site. The New Black Panthers stirred controversy in 2008 when members appeared outside a polling site, one of them holding a billy club. The representative seen Tuesday morning was not armed.

The flap over the election judges, though, was widespread. Republicans claim they are obtaining a series of court orders to seat the so-called election "inspectors," and sheriff's deputies will be available to escort them.

Watch the results pour in like a pro with FoxNews.com's Election Command Center

Despite the high number of officials who were allegedly booted, the dispute itself is not uncommon for Philadelphia. Fred Voigt, legal counsel for the city commissioners, said these kinds of face-offs happen "with regularity" in the City of Brotherly Love.

"It happens all the time," Voigt said. He said court-appointed Republican officials typically show up on Election Day and end up squaring off against stand-in officials at the polling sites filling in the open seats. Part of the problem, he said, is that the Republican inspectors are appointed on relatively short notice, leading to a string of confrontations on Election Day.

"There are no cool heads here," Voigt said.

The on-site election officials are responsible for verifying the identity of voters, and monitoring for signs of fraud or disenfranchisement.

Dennis, Are you talking about the Republican poll watchers that was replaced by Democrats in PA? Republicans had to go to court to get their workers back into the polling place. Why is that Black Panther still standing in front of the polling place? I believe he was the same one that AG Holder dropped the charges on 4 yrs ago.

BTW, I mentioned yesterday, it appears that the easier we make voting the lower the turn out seems. 1960, 1964 & 1968 the turnout average was 61% of eligible voters. Since then it has averaged 53% for yrs 1972 thru 2008.

*shrugs* Because he's a registered poll watcher, just like the thousands of lunatics you guys have employed to make asses of themselves during this election.

Look it up. I found that out through the same news source that KK up there cited in about 30 seconds. He's there because he has a right to be there and no one who's actually voted there has complained about him.

Despite the Fox 'news' story using loaded language to make him sound like a thug casing out a place to rob, they did actually verify the legitimacy of his presence:

A member of the New Black Panther Party who was charged with voter intimidation in the 2008 election for standing outside a Philadelphia polling site was back Tuesday morning – in an official capacity.

Jerry Jackson, who was charged in the 2008 case along with Minister King Samir Shabazz, but later saw charges dropped by the Department of Justice, was seen early Tuesday outside a North Philadelphia voting site wearing the group’s trademark black beret, combat-style uniform and heavy boots. Fox News confirmed he is a designated poll watcher.

“No comment,” Jackson said when approached by a reporter at 1221 Fairmount Ave., in the city’s 14th Ward, where he lurked on Election Day in 2008.

I especially liked their characterization of how he was dressed, making him sound like a paramilitary terrorist and the use of the word 'lurked' when describing his activities. Unlike those fine upstanding Republican poll watchers who are staunchly defending our Republic from the hordes of in-person voter fraudsters who have run rampant over so many of our recent elections.

I didn't point to either Party

It is an issue with both Parties … why do you assume I am talking about Republicans?

By law Poll Watchers, even the New Black Panthers, are permitted to be there as long as they do not violate any laws. If they break the law they should be arrested and charged.

This is the question that will be answered, Are we a nation in which angry white men didn't vote in '08, because they couldn't vote for the "other guy," but who are still angry in '12 and now want to vote for their guy? No one can say that America's White males are voting for hope or vision, they are mostly voting out of disgust. Not at all a hopeful sign for the country.

I personally think it will show the American public isn't as stupid as Mitt Romney thinks.

And I personally hope the in the age of "I want it now"; which I am apart of, because while in heaven in line for patients and ask could I have it now... I have learned that things come in good time. You can not fix the mess the United States was in four years when the whole world went down the drain at the same time. Yes I do think Bush has the greater responsibility in the mess that we go ourselves into but, the solution relies on us.

And that solution is to continue working the direction we are heading with President Obama.

Av8tor2 - well said. As we see the dire situations in other countries we should remember that we could easily be there to except for the President's leadership. And, had the Republicans not been obstructionists, we would be even better off today.

It is very disheartening to read and hear of the voter supression/intimidation going on in several states....by the GOP.

GOP can not win the election honestly so they are trying to steal it.

Americans....Dems, Independents, moderate Repubs....don't let GOP steal your votes.

All GOP huh? How about the early voting Democrats standing in line at the polls to discourage people by thinking it is going to be a long time before they get a chance to vote and then just as it is their turn to enter, they leave the line? talk: If a long line can discourage voters....that would be all voters...right? Dems, Independent, Rebpus....so why would anyone do that?

That is nonsense, and you know it.

Meanwhile the GOP suppression/intimidation is real and has been reported.

Yes, I heard those Black Panthers were intimidating Democratic voters...

and suppressing their votes...this is what you're talking about, right?

Voter suppression at the polls, right? There aught to be a law against that...?

Limited Impact Of New Black Panthers In Pa., Conservative Watchdog Says

Ben Brink, a former Navy Seal who is the leader of a group of conservative special operations veterans traveling swing states in search of signs of liberal voter intimidation, says that the much-touted reports of aggressive New Black Panthers in Pennsylvania has so far been limited to "one dejected, unarmed" man.

"Philly has lots or rumors that we are tracking down, but only one dejected, unarmed NBPP seen so far," Brink told HuffPost by email.

Fox News led the morning with a video of a man wearing a New Black Panther uniform and holding the door open for elderly women as they arrived to vote outside a polling station in Philadelphia.

Brink said there are more reports of sighting in Cleveland that the group is looking into.

"We are tracking them," Brink said. "Hoping for video soon."

That's funny. I saw two at one polling place on the news when I was eating lunch today. Both in their Girl Scout uniforms as one other poster put it today "the only thing missing was the cookies". When they saw the person filming on their cell phone, the younger of the two donned in dark glasses and a full beard, walked toward the person, keeping his distance but if looks could do bodily damage, the cell phone surely would have been shut down.

You can go to the polls and hold the door for people but, why the getup if you aren't promoting your cause (which everyone knows isn't necessarily the one we want our kids to jump on board with).

The questions that the GOP/RNC "Speculator" have to answer for are many America! The IRS, the Department Of Justice, and the Department will have alot of questions for him very soon. The IRS is starting the auditing of the GOP "Tax Cheater's" Tax Returns from 1996 to 2009. Now there are a ton of many unanswered questions their America! The GOP "Outsourcer" will have the Department Of Justice asking questions about his Delphi deal. He ripped off the American Tax Payers in 2009. What the Bain Trained Speculator is now doing in Freeport Illinois. Has the Department of Commerce asking alot of questions. America does not need a "Crooked Boss" running America into the ground with 'momentum.' Hey! Hey! Ho! Ho! The whole Party Of NO has got to go!! The questions can not be answered tonight as they are:

          who knew and authorized Fast/Furious,

who is responsible for Trooper Terry's death,

why was no aid sent to Libya when POTUS said do it,

did administration know about earlier attacks and why no action to increase defense,

when did the POTUS know it was not a spontaneous attack and how that compares to the 16 days of telling Americans that it was the movie,

why the suits against AZ and Sheriff Arpaio were dropped after much costs and politicizing,

who is responsible for submitting a budget that no Democrat could vote to support,

and what are the real costs for Obamacare?

Reelected or not, these must have answers.

In Pennsylvania, people are standing outside the polls asking for their I.D.s,” Dean said. “A federal judge has enjoined them from doing that, but that’s what’s happening.”

“That’s a big charge,” said NBC News Chief White House Correspondent Chuck Todd. “Do you think the president could – do you believe if he loses Ohio, it will be because of voting irregularities?”

“I do,” Dean replied without hesitation. “Given the vote and the leading in the polls in Ohio, the only way he can lose is if people are prevented from casting their ballots

AFL-CIO Executive Vice President Arlene Holt Baker just issued a statement:

"We are hearing reports from Pennsylvania that voters continue to receive misinformation about voter ID. Voters do not need photo ID to vote in this election and those who don’t have photo ID shouldn’t be turned away. First time voters will need to show some form of identification but a photo is not required. In the greatest democracy in the world we should be ensuring that everyone has access to the polls regardless of where they live or who they are voting for. We will continue to monitor these issues throughout the day and work to inform voters of how they can protect their vote."

Reports Of Voter Suppression Emerge In Cincinnati

Ohio blog the Plunderbund is receiving complaints from voters in Cincinnati:

According to these reports, voters who come to Mother of Christ Church erroneously – and there are multiple polling locations on the same street so it’s easy to get confused – are being encouraged to fill out provisional ballots rather than being told where their correct precinct is.

In addition, my sources have multiple reports of people who are registered at that precinct being forced to fill out provisional ballots even if they’re on the books at the location and have correct ID on them. The deputy judge, Dan Unger (in the photo bellow), reportedly came outside and told all the voter protection and election protection people to stop talking to voters. I was told that Unger also said they are not making people fill out provisional ballots, which is contradicted by the reports my sources are getting.

An Allegheny County judge issued an order to halt electioneering outside a polling location in Homestead.

County officials received a complaint shortly before 10 a.m. Tuesday that Republicans outside a polling location on Maple Street in Homestead were stopping people outside the polls and asking for identification.

The order states: “Individuals outside the polls are prohibited from questioning, obstructing, interrogating or asking about any form of identification and/demanding any form of identification from any prospective voter.”

Allegheny County Common Pleas Judge Guido A. DeAngelis, one of two judges overseeing Elections Court, issued the order and said such actions by partisans “could have a chilling effect” on voting.

Common Pleas Judge Jeffrey A. Manning, who also is overseeing the court this morning, said the only people permitted to ask for ID are the poll workers inside the voting locations.

Registered Philadelphia Voters Complaining They're Being Told To Cast Provisional Ballots

          The Philadelphia City Paper reports:

The names of registered Philadelphia voters are not showing up on voter rolls and poll workers are instructing them to vote using provisional ballots, according to voters and poll workers in West and North Philadelphia. Provisional ballots are not counted until up to seven days after the election.

"We think it's a real concern," said a staffer at The Committee of Seventy, which monitors elections in Philadelphia. Voter ID, he says, is "not the central problem in Philadelphia today: [it's] the messy administration of this election. The phones are just ringing off the hook. We're fielding calls about people who are not in the polling books."

Some poll workers are not even instructing people that they can file provisional ballots, and other voters are reportedly just walking away in frustration.

I feel that this might be another Bush/Gore result. With Pa already having problems with there voting machines. When voted for Obama it registers under Romney. In Ohio you have alot of at home voters. Then with sandy in north east might put a damper on the vote also with the not electric and 20 of the 60 voting areas up in New York.
