Michelle Obama to Floridians: 'Don't let anybody push you out of line'

ORLANDO, Fla. – Declaring "we are going to get this done," an emotional Michelle Obama rallied a central Florida crowd Monday night, telling supporters on the eve of the election that it's "all on the line" Tuesday.

"Your president is nowhere near satisfied," she said, making the pitch for a second term for her husband, President Barack Obama.

The first lady has maintained a busy schedule visiting key swing states since the Democrats' national convention in Charlotte, N.C., in September.

Here in an Orlando park, she made her final solo campaign appearance of the 2012 cycle.

"Together, slowly but surely, we have been pulling ourselves out of that hole that we started in," Obama said, casting her husband's first term in office as a difficult but productive road to economic recovery.

Though she didn't mention Republican nominee Mitt Romney, she warned against moving backward, touting her husband's overhaul of the health care system and regulation of the financial industry.

The campaign estimated the crowd at 2,600. The decision to hold the first lady's final rally here in Central Florida is no doubt tied to the campaign's strategy to win the state's 29 electoral votes.

Both the Obama and Romney campaigns have poured tens of millions into advertising in the Sunshine State, hoping to win the so-called "I-4 corridor," a key part of the Florida puzzle.

Obama was joined on stage Monday by Sen. Bill Nelson and Puerto Rican-born performer Ricky Martin.

Nelson, who is leading in polls against his Republican challenger, U.S. Rep. Connie Mack, made a pitch for support in Spanish.

Almost 4.5 million people in Florida have already cast ballots, taking advantage of early and absentee voting opportunities here. The latest data from the Florida Secretary of State's office shows that Democrats have cast 1,915,630 votes – giving them a lead against Republicans, who have cast 1,747,977 votes.

But Michelle Obama warned that the president needs every vote he can get.

"Don't let anybody push you out of line," the first lady said, telling those who haven't voted yet to get to the polls early. "Don't let any delays deter you."

Michelle Obama was scheduled to appear later Monday with her husband in Des Moines, Iowa.

Sponge Bob Lies, Lies, and More Lies

MYTH Romney: 'The Economy Is At A Virtual Standstill'
Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney has released an arguably misleading statement on the jobs report:

Today’s increase in the unemployment rate is a sad reminder that the economy is at a virtual standstill. The jobless rate is higher than it was when President Obama took office, and there are still 23 million Americans struggling for work. On Tuesday, America will make a choice between stagnation and prosperity.

Roughly 12 million Americans are unemployed, according to the Labor Department -- not 23 million. The latter number refers to "total unemployed, plus all persons marginally attached to the labor force, plus total employed part time for economic reasons," according to the Labor Department.

http://globalgoodgroup.com/blog/2012/11/02/october-jobs-report-released/
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Actually, the economy is not standing still. It grew at an annual rate of 2.0 percent in the third quarter of this year, according to the Commerce Department.

Hummm, so now the numbers are real? Last month they were fixed according to the right wing nut jobs.

Let's see now....is this the 192nd time Mrs. Obama has been out and about campaigning for Carter Jr. ?

I wonder who is footing the transportation costs for these CAMPAIGN TRIPS ? Need to look closely to make sure she pays her way. Reason: Mrs. Obama, or someone in the White House, designated her children as SENIOR White House staffers on that African trip so the taxpayers would pick up the tab.

Mrs. Obama is really going to miss those Wednesday parties and those $ 1,000,000 dinners for her friends when she is kicked out of the White House on 7 January 2013. Expect an inventory on White House assets.

Their retirement home will be located next door to Mr. Jimmy Carter, then Mr. Obama and Mr. Carter can reminisce on Presidential memories.

AS for Mrs. Clinton's attempted run in 2016: NEVER HAPPEN.....too much baggage. Whitewater real estate fiasco did not result in Americans getting killed.....BENGHAZI DID.

I'm dating myself- rather precisely!- but my first presidential election was in 1984, pitting the incumbent and former two-term governor of my home state of California against Walter Mondale, the Minnesotan and vice-president of the widely (and unfairly) maligned Jimmy Carter.

Today, people like Vaginian Bob and his fellow drones want to sell the Reagan Myth; that he took over an economy in freefall, immediately imposed a radical free-market, laissez-faire solution, and just deregulated the Hell out of everything within reach; crushed and broke the unions; that almost overnight, we were up to our withers in high-paying, non-union right-to-work jobs; and by the time November '84 rolled around, Ronald Reagan was more popular than sex or free beer. Democrats in their millions deserted their party, and Mondale garnered a pitiful handful of votes, roughly equal to the number of committed Marxists in universities nationwide.

People like me, who were actually there, and were working for a living (or ar least trying to!) remember it differently. We remember that immediately after Reagan's big first-year tax cut, unemployment shot up from around 5.8% to a modern record high of 10.2% (Merry f*****g Christmas!). We remember that while Reagan was good at hitting his marks, saying his lines and projecting sunny optimism, his administration were scaring the sawdust out of us with nuclear saber-rattling aimed at the U.S.S.R. (we had one of those back then), a massive crackdown on everybody whose skin colour, religion, personal habits or romantic inclinations didn't suit the Evangelical Christians who were suddenly a national political force (even though Ronnie and Nancy never attended chuch once the entire eight years they were in Sacramento). We remember looking up every day at the sunny California skies, wondering if today was the day that sudden nuclear death was going to light up that sky because the senile warmonger in the White House had finally lost it.

No, for roughly half of us, the Reagan years were anything but the nonstop party that the Republicans have been selling us ever since.

Now, for the last four years, the Republicans have been selling a narrative that says that the economy was just roaring along, but as soon as Obama was elected, our prosperity hit the wall, foreclosures exploded all over, our friends abroad turned on us, and the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan began to go very badly, when under Bush it was just an unbroken series of triumphs (which certainly explains why we were still there after seven years).

Unfortunately, these pages prove that there are millions of people out there who are stupid enough to fall for this gigantic hoax; and theRepublican gangster party is not even troubling themselves to try to conceal their lies and their crimes, because there's a very large bloc of voters who consider anything to be justified, up to and including mass violence and murder, in order to get rid of the man who pulled the whole world's economy back from the brink of cataclysm and has seen it through to a definite if slow recovery, so they can proudly hand the reins of power back to the exact same gang of thieves, fixers, grifters, con artists, religious fanatics, perverts and war profiteers who destroyed our economy in the first place.

Way to go, you idiots. You can grumble and bitch about the Socialist in the White House while he saving your collective backside. You're lucky our Constitution guarantees freedom of speech for the terminally dumb.

“Of course we believe these things.

We believe in Social Security.

We believe in work for the unemployed.

We believe in saving homes.

Cross our hearts and hope to die, we believe in all these things.

But we do not like the way the present administration is doing them.

Just turn them over to us.

We will do all of them.

Our President said that he would bring the nation together. That did not work.

Our President said that he could work with the opposition party by reaching across the isle. That did not work.

Our President said that his administration would be free from lobbyists. That did not work.

Our President said that his administration would be the most transparent ever. That did not work.

Our President said that he would fix the economy within three years. That did not work.

Our President said that his health care bill would lower health care costs. That did not work.

Our President said that he would not raise taxes on 95% of Americans in any way. That did not work.

Our President said that his stimulus spending bill would solve our employment problem. That did not work.

Our President said that he would cut the deficit in half by the end of his first term. That did not work.

Our President has provided an economic "plan" for the next 4 years that is mathematically impossible. That cannot work.

I see a pattern here. Our President said that if he could not fix the economy within three year that he did not deserve a second term.

Funny, upon investigating it was found that they never actually threatened anybody personally nor did they stop anyone from voting. After all, at that time The New Black Panthers had a whopping 3 members outside of a SINGLE polling station. Yeah, they sang songs that white folks did not like, and them being black in a predominantly white area really freaked out some of the bigoted whites, but remember, that was a very well debunked Breitbart production and part of their routine was done specifically for the camera. Considering that it was under Bush and HIS Justice Department was the one to investigate, and declined to prosecute, blaming it on Holder is ludicrous. The whole "Black Panther Intimidation" thing has been totally debunked, so you who bring it up are engaging in (probably paid for) fear mongering and the telling of debunked LIES. Of course, if you are a Fox news watcher then you probably have no concept that this is the case!

Compared to the huge number of 'True The Vote' members who have been given fallacious information about elections protocols in their areas,, and are being dispatched ONLY to those areas that show a majority of Black or Hispanic voters, I would be much more scared of these tea Party backed fanatics whose ONLY purpose is to cause disruptions in the polling places, creating disturbances so as to make those waiting in line to get discouraged and leave without voting.

Presently, the Repubs are acting just like the mafia does, in fact, there is very little difference and the Repubs are acting exactly like any other corrupt, criminal organization doing things that are illegal, immoral and, quite frankly, unconstitutional. Considering that the demographics in this Nation are changing, and not in a way that rich, white bigoted men like, they are doing EVERYTHING that they can, legal or not, to sway the election their way, through laws that disenfranchise legal Dem voters based on race, income level and region, sending their "Voter Fraud" goon squads to ONLY places that show a majority of minority or poor Dem voters in a bid to cause disruption and intimidate people from voting in those areas, either through creating slow downs that increase the length of lines and time standing in those lines to discourage those people from voting. Yes, these actions are being taken ONLY by the Repubs and their Tea Party minions.

These groups see, quite clearly, that this is their LAST chance to cling to any sort of power due to the rapidly changing demographics that are leaning more and more to the left. Many groups see them as completely against their well being: Blacks, Hispanics, Women, LBGT, and many of the poor all see the Repub party as concentrated on denying them the rights that are guaranteed them under the Constitution: EQUAL rights for all, not Just for the extremely wealthy white crowd that sees their numbers diminishing and are desperately trying to cling to their notions that they are more equal than any other. The Repub Party has gone out of it's way to create enemies, and now they are, justly, terrified that they will not hold on to their historical powers. They need to come in out from the 19th Century and join the rest of us here in the 21st Century and quit trying to drag us backwards into the future!

Perhaps you need to actually do some REAL study, not using data from Fox News or any other so called Conservative site. Use the neutral, non-partisan sites, there are plenty of them out there. You will find a lot of facts that you plain dislike, but they are the truth. Truth has no party, it takes no sides unless one side is determined to deny the truth and try to force their views and lies on the rest of us. Presently the Repub Party is the party of lies, disinformation and misinformation and Romney is their poster child: able to lie faster, on any subject, willing to tell anybody and everybody what they want to hear, and having absolutely NO remorse in doing so.

ANY group that cannot stand up and tell, in plain words and accurate math, what their platform really is, cannot tell the truth about their policies and HAS to depend on lies to gain ANY office is not a legitimate party and should NOT be given ANY sort of political office or position. If they cannot gain office with the truth then they have NO business even running for the offices, PERIOD!

OH, and if you should go to any sort of fact checking site, you will see that the lies from the Repubs FAR FAR outweighs the ones from the Dems, and, in fact, while most of the lies from the right are brazen pants-on-fire level lies, what the Repubs point to on the left as 'lies' are usually bits of statements taken out of context and conflated to the point that they do not resemble, in any fashion, what the actual original statement was. This is easily verifiable as well.

Have a great day!

Here we go again with the "Black Panther" story, two men, just two men, who stood outside of one polling place in Philly. They wore berets and black leather trench-coats, and one had a nightstick hung in a belt hanger (not a baseball bat). When asked why they were there they said it was to make sure that no republicans tried to stop anyone from voting for Obama. When police were called and they were told that it was illegal to loiter by the polling place they left.

That is all that happened, two men, at one polling place, who never threatened or challenged anyone while they were there, they just stood there. The reason they were not prosecuted is because they never tried to stop anyone from voting, and they never said a word to try to intimidate anyone. They really were not guilty of anything except for unknowingly violating elections law by loitering too close to the polling place. The attorney general declined to prosecute because there was no point in doing so, and what, charge them with loitering while black?

Our GOP friends insist that due to the properties of the "Magical Balance Fairy" that these two mens presence four years ago now justifies an entire host of activities by them aimed at suppressing the minority vote. Of course they never tell the truth and admit that it was only two men at one location. Instead they rage about a mythical para-military army of Black Panthers whose widespread presence was responsible for scaring away millions of white voters by their mere presence thereby securing the election for Obama.

It is nothing but a racist fairy tale, a scary bedtime story told by white supremacists, and a convenient lie because it contains just the tiniest smidgen of truth to build upon. That they use this racist lie to justify their own anti-American and unconstitutional efforts to subvert the right of other citizens to vote tells you all you really need to know about them.

Clackamas County identifies accused elections worker as Deanna Swenson of Oregon City

Clackamas County today identified the temporary elections worker accused of altering ballots as Deanna Swenson, 55, of the Oregon City area.

She was "relieved of duty immediately after the alleged ballot tampering was discovered," Tim Heider, county spokesman, said in a press release.

Swenson, who is registered as a Republican, also worked previous elections, at least back to 2010, said Scot Sedaris, county counsel.

Swenson is accused of filling in the names of Republican candidates on ballots where voters did not make a choice. Tampering with ballots is a Class C felony punishable by up to five years in prison and a fine of $125,000.

Hey Nevada - CAAP's website can say anything it wants.

Even if it's a lie.

Want the truth? Or are you playing "hear no evil" until after the election?

Owens and his group, the Coalition of African-American Pastors, are drawing criticism from black leaders and the political left who note Owens' long-standing ties with GOP politicians. They charge CAAP misrepresents itself as a non-partisan grass-roots organization when it is actually backed financially by right-leaning conservative groups.

"He is the poster person of conservative evangelicals … who are trying to use this as an emotional wedge issue to divide the black community," said the Rev. Amos Brown, pastor of the Third Baptist Church in San Francisco and a protégée of the civil rights leader Rev. Martin Luther King.

[I]nterviews and a review of tax documents reveal deep connections with the right:

•Owens was appointed this year as the African-American liaison for the National Organization for Marriage (NOM), a Washington-based group opposed to same-sex marriage that has endorsed Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney.

•Frank Cannon, head of the American Principles Project, a group opposed to same-sex marriage, confirms his group's political action fund is paying public relations firm Shirley & Banister to assist CAAP's communications strategy.

•CAAP received loans totaling $26,000 in 2004 from the conservative Family Research Council, American Family Association and Mississippi Tea Party activist Ed Holliday, according to its IRS filings.

Owens, who didn't respond to requests for comment, endorsed 2008 GOP presidential contender Mike Huckabee and Ohio GOP gubernatorial candidate Ken Blackwell.

Joanna you seem to have missed the message Ms Obama was sending, no one should be intimidated not to vote, no where in her comment did she advocate trouble but merely standing up for ones self so they can vote. I would hope, regardless of who you vote for you too would stand up for your right to vote and not walk away if intimidated, now that would be an awful thing if you did not vote because of intimidation.

I did not agree with how President Bush conducted the country and I commented as such, but I did not insult the role of President I did not insult his wife. I would like to think I made clear arguments and comments on what I did not agree on.

Unlike some on this discussion who embarrass themselves by resorting to name calling and sarcasstic unhelpful comments.

Thanks Michelle for checking this out. The last time it happened, the country got cheated out of a good potential for a disastrous plan. We all know what happened when Bush took the win...his friends at the supreme court. His daddy made sure Jr. got a chance to destroy the country......and he pretty much did. Another one of these around the corner ? won't happen again.....only once in a life time. Fool me once.....my fault....twice.....not on your life !!!!

What a tremendous asset she has been for her husband and our president. She has so connected with voters all across the nation unlike any other First Lady since Eleanor Roosevelt.

Best of luck tomorrow Mrs. Obama. You gave it all - 110%.

We're behind both you and President Obama.

And word is Nate Silver has just changed FLA to lean blue. It wouldn't surprise me one bit if the president carries Florida.

Michelle obama doesn't give one rat fart about the people of the United States. She wasn't even proud of her country until it elected her husband.

Just like her husband, she enjoys the perks of being first lady (the first lady of travels and vacations) while the middle class strugged to make ends meet.

In less than two hours it will be November 6, 2012. On this day, we the citizens of this nation will decide not only who will be the President of the United States, but what direction we want this country to go. For me, the choice is simple. We can stay with the proven leadership and steady growth of the current administration, or return to the proven failed policies of their opponents. For me, I'm satisfied with where we've been the last four years, and where we will go the next four if this current administration is given the votes for re-election. But I am only one vote. It's up to the rest of the country to decide who will be the winner. I'm betting on the path to remain the same and that the opposition parties attempt at turning back the clock will be rejected. If it is, I along with many on this board, will celebrate. If it isn't, my life will go on as it has for over fifty years. The time for bickering is over as we turn it over to the American people to decide.

Well said Jerry. After tomorrow night she and her husband will understand how the majority of the American people feel about their 4 year stint in the White House. They can both go back to where ever they came from. They are both set for life and can do as they please, only this time around it won't be on the American tax payer. I for one will be thrilled to see them take their last ride on a military helicopter taking them out of Washington, that day can't come soon enough.

This is the man who came to Boston for the Democratic Convention in 2004. This is the night he was introduced to the nation. There are no red states, there are no blue states, there are only the United States.

And tomorrow we re-elect him for a second term as our President of the United States.

Unimaginable turns of events. How fortunate we are.

By far, the most unAmerican first lady to EVER occupy the w.h., and this is a fact. Here's your freaking quotes to prove this:

1. “For the first time in my adult lifetime, I am really proud of my country. And not just because Barack has done well, but because I think people are hungry for change. And I have been desperate to see our country moving in that direction.” — Michelle Obama

2. “…(T)he realities are that, you know, as a black man, you know, Barack can get shot going to the gas station, you know.” — Michelle Obama

3. “The truth is, in order to get things like universal health care and a revamped education system, then someone is going to have to give up a piece of their pie so that someone else can have more.” — Michelle Obama

4. “Barack Obama will require you to work. He is going to demand that you shed your cynicism. That you put down your divisions. That you come out of your isolation, that you move out of your comfort zones. That you push yourselves to be better. And that you engage. Barack will never allow you to go back to your lives as usual, uninvolved, uninformed.” — Michelle Obama

Best "First Lady" ever? I think not. Most racist "First Lady" ever? Absolutely.

Have a great day you silly, silly deluded liberals!!! And do please try not to cry too loud tomorrow. Some of us still have to work (see quote number three..).

No amount of party loyalty should outweigh honesty...

Ask yourself this simple question... If you vote for Romney, which one will you be voting for? I am not trying to be funny... Seriously, do you REALLY know if you will get the self described "severely conservative" Mitt Romney? Or will you get the "Moderate Mitt" Romney of late?

What would; he do regarding Roe V Wade? Would he start (or condone) a war with Iran? If you say you know the answer to these and the other major issues, you clearly have a crystal ball, because even the campaign has changed their tune on these things, sometimes more than once, and in a very short span.

The truth is, you can't know what Mitt will vote for or against, as Mr. Romney has been on both sides of every issue. If you vote on issues, it is therefore impossible to vote for Mitt Romney.

I don't agree with everything Obama has done, but at l;east I have a good idea of what he will do, and I am not willing to vote for smoke and mirrors...

Nevada, STOP SPAMMING.

And Perturb, while Romney got his money by his Vulture Capitolism, using hostile takeovers and then saddling the business with the debt of that takeover, then when it goes bankrupt, breaking it up, selling off the parts and shipping the jobs and often the majority of the factories themselves to China, making well over 1/4 Billion dollars, is WAY DIFFERENT than President Obama who made his money from book sales, and only a portion of his wealth has been from his SALARY as President so NO, his wealth has NOT come from Tax Dollars, he EARNED it rather than like Romney who basically STOLE his.

Also, the Obamas have released their tax returns while Romney, for very good reasons (for him), has Not. The MAJOR reason WHY Romney has not released his tax returns: http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2012-10-29/romney-avoids-taxes-via-loophole-cutting-mormon-donations.html

I think Florida is much closer than that which some polls also point to. With the problems of early voting and overcrowded polls, there could be a lot of provisional and absentee ballots cast there. Unless it's a blowout, those extra ballots could close that gap and even reverse it. So, if Florida is a landslide, the networks will call it, but otherwise it could be in play for a day or more.

Romney will probably take it, but it's definitely still in play and not a given at this point.

Move forward towards Greece and over the cliff......

If obama NOW had such great plans for the economy, why didn't he implement them 4 years ago when he could have nipped this recession in the bud.....The Dems controlled the House and Senate. Obama choose ideology and a power grab (via obamacare) over helping the struggling middle class.

But NOW he has a plan....Trust me he says because NOW he has it all figured out....

Obama never created a job in his entire life. He went from community organizer to state senator and U.S. Senator (with more 'present' votes then any senator in history). Doesn't have the b*lls to take a stand and make a vote.....Gutless.....

Obama and Michelle sat in Rev Wright's church for 20 years listening to him spew his racial and U.S. hatemongering. What were they doing for 20 years? Sleeping? They were soaking it all in! Obama called Wright a mentor.

Obama is ignorant when it comes to economic issues...Not a clue....He thinks businesses are obligated to hire people just because he says to. Businesses are under NO obligation to hire anyone. And here's some bad news for those looking for a job...Businesses have figured out how to get by and maintain with the staffing that they have...Business owners do not take a risk and expand their business unless they see a realistic risk to reware ratio. If obama is elected, the next 4 years will show the same pitiful, non-existant job growth because businesses see more risk under obama (due to his constant demonizing of business) then they do reward. It will be a long, long 4 years if you are currently unemployed. Businesses will NOT be hiring under obama. They don't have to and he can't make them.

Just to show how ignorant obama is regarding economic matters. He couldn't understand why businesses wouldn't hire someone just because they would get a $2,500 tax credit. Are you kidding me...Take a person's salary, add another 33% on it for benefits, and just a $50,000 job now becomes a $65,000 expense to the company. But hey, that's government math...I'll give you 2,500 if you spend 65,000.

Jerry, you might want to do some research before you open that ignorant mouth of yours.

The GOP has spent the last 4 years doing everything they can to stall the recovering and tank it as best they can. So that the President wouldn't be re-elected. They've advanced no alternative proposals and have in general behaved like self entitled brats whenever negotiations come up. Even a 90% cuts 10% tax raises wasn't good enough for them when the debt ceiling vote came up. They ended up with a worse deal than that because they wouldn't work with the President when the moderate republicans had to cave.

As for job creation, Bain never created any jobs and Romney's plans, whatever they are, won't create jobs. Jobs are created because there is demand for it. Demand does not spring up via tax cuts for the rich. They spring up because people have spending money.

You'd think instead they would address voter suppression.

There were three of them. At one polling place. In 2007. And the Bush (read again, BUSH) administration refused to prosecute.

But then, Romney's campaign isn't going to be run by fact-checkers, is it? Or facts, for that matter.

What you are talking about happened in 2008 in Philadelphia on Election Day and it is Eric Holder, Obama's Attorney General, who pulled the prosecution begun by the Bush administration.

Get your facts straight - the entire incident even rates a Wikipedia listing, you numbskull! 2007. Seriously.

The bottom line is do we really want a president who is afraid to even do an interview with his friends at Fox news. His handlers are afraid of his foot ending up in his mouth. He is unqualified to be President. He has changed his positions so many times that no matter what he says on an issue, it conflicts with something he has said in the last 12 months. Happens a lot when you change youre mind as much as Mitt does.

Why hasn't obama had a press conference in months and months? Reason, he is a coward and can't handle the tough questions...Instead, he goes on Leno, The View, some D.J. Pimp somebody's radio show and gets really tough questions like: 'Boxers or briefs', ' Mr President, how do you do such a great job of balancing your responsibilities'...'What music do you have on your phone'.....

He is a coward with no leadership abilities....He is a pathological liar.....He stood before the U.N. and said six times that the Bengazi attacks were because of youtube movie...Now, he say that we don't know what happened. We know what happened....The SEALS called their Commander In Chief and he turned his back on them because, to give them the help they needed did not fit hi 'al qaida is on the run' narrative he had been spewing at the convention. Coward in the nth degree.....

Plenty of time for all the above but no time to meet with America's only true ally in the middle east -- Israel. Not a SINGLE trip to Israel in 4 years but plenty to China, Libya, Syria, Egypt and other American hating countries. He is a muslim at heart......

yep..obama had to go and dig up 'Ole Slick Willy Bill Clinton' and point to all of Clinton's accomplishments (so-called) because obama had none of his own. You would think that, after 4 years, he would be proud of his own record but he runs from it as far as he can.....His entire campaign has been bash the other guy...Americans aren't buying it...Americans want leadership and obama the coward has shown NONE!

Obama didn't even have a plan for the next 4 years...He came up with one after the 3rd debate because Romney kept asking where it was. Obama couldn't even get a single Dem vote for his most recent budget because it was so ridiculous. He can't even get Harry Reid to pass a budget in the Senate. It's been nearly 4 years and the Senate has not passed a budget (controlled by Dems).
