DES MOINES, Iowa – Holding his third event on the eve of the election, Paul Ryan briefly stopped in the same city where he held his first solo rally as Mitt Romney’s running mate nearly four months ago. This time, he told Iowans the GOP ticket will “win” on Tuesday.
“That is the kind of leadership we need right now: Common sense leadership, get things done, stop blaming people, and don’t try to transform this country into something it was never intended to be,” said Ryan, speaking inside an airport hangar at the Des Moines International Airport. “That’s who we are. That’s why we need your help. That’s why we have momentum. That’s why we are going to win. And that’s why we only have one more day before we get us on the right track.”
The Republican vice presidential nominee first appeared in the battleground state of Iowa just two days after he was added to the ticket. Ryan spoke at the popular Iowa State Fair on Aug. 13 – his first event campaigning without Romney. Monday’s evening rally marked Ryan’s twelfth in the state.
While national polls show a neck-and-neck race for the White House, President Barack Obama leads Romney here in Iowa, which has six electoral votes up for grabs. According to the latest NBC News/Wall Street Journal/Marist poll, Obama is up by six points.
Ryan, who is hitting five battleground states the day before the election, had a welcome response in Iowa’s state capital a few miles down the road from where Obama is holding his final campaign event tonight.
“Look we’ve kind of gotten to know each other these last few months here, haven’t we?” Ryan told the crowd. “The hospitality that Iowans have shown this Wisconsinite, I just want to thank you from the bottom of my heart. I want to thank you so much.”

"Don't try to change this country into something it was never intended to be." So, this country is only for certain people who meet the GOP criteria? Ryan, you are the loser, and you and Romney will lose tomorrow and then we can get on with the business of moving this country FORWARD!

"WHY ROMNEY IS UNFIT FOR THE PRESIDENCY"
". . . .If you think Romney is ready to transcend his questionable business practices, roll up his sleeves and work across the aisle, consider that in his only political job, in one term as Massachusetts governor, Romney stood aloof from legislators, not deigning to learn their names and roping off a private elevator to keep them away. Clearly he just suffered through the degrading experience of running a state to build his resume for a White House run. His elitist disdain for those outside his circle would surely follow him to Washington.
Whatever your political philosophy, you should consider whether a candidate with that kind of experience and orientation should lead our nation. . . ."

We were never meant to be weak minded wusses who look to the government to spoon feed us. We used to have a backbone until Obama came along. With Romney and Ryan we will find it again.
KJNC: Get ready for an onslaught of crazy to come your way! HA!
O&Joe!
KJNC,
Need I remind you that four years ago we were asked to vote for someone that had a thin resume...virtually no experience, and yet through his well written speeches America decided to elect him to office. In the four years since, he has not delivered on his campaign promises from four years ago. Now, he has run his entire campaign from a negative viewpoint of hate and bashing his opponent as opposed to running on his "record". Why didn't he run on his record? It's clear that he is deflecting from his vast shortcomings. That is what someone should consider when they walk into that voting booth tomorrow.
More government, more taxes, less freedom- Vote Obama
Less government, less taxes, more freedom- Vote Romney

the Iowa state fair ...
The same fair that Romney did not attend.
But Romney did have this great photo opt. on his way to the airport.
He stoppd by a farm owned by a real estate millionare and had his picture taken in font of the guy's spaceship house with a field of corn in the background.
The real farmers in Iowa are still laughing about that one.
Well, of course the Iowa State Fair is well beneath Mr. and Mrs. Romney. We can't expect them to be in the same place as us regular folks now can we? After all, they are who they are and we are "You people".
JKNC - I like this prediction better than Nate's. http://townhall.com/columnists/wayneallynroot/2012/10/12/las_vegas_oddsmaker_explains_why_he_predicts_romney_landslide/page/full/
Also I like the Colorado Professor's prediction: http://dailycaller.com/2012/08/23/university-of-colorado-prediction-model-points-to-big-romney-win/
To top it off, my "gut feeling" is Romney with 300 to 310 EVs and a popular vote of 52.5% to 47.5%.

"get things done, stop blaming people, and don't try to transform this country into something it was never intended to be". So apparently Paul Ryan, the constitutional scholar (who knew?), wants Boehner, McConnell, et al replaced so Congress can actually accomplish something after two years of a whole lot of nothing.
MERCY! I SAY MERCY! I hope he's not out there "Cornholing" again! Today, as a result of Ryan's Saturday night "Tailgating" and "Cornholing", a lot of Southern women have sore butts, and not a penny richer, nor a gwaddamn bit happier, especially with their Men folk.

Updated as of 9:50pm EST on Monday, November 5, 2012 (TWO HOURS TO GO!):
*** FiveThirtyEight TONIGHT FLIPS FLORIDA TO OBAMA!
OBAMA'S LEAD IN MICHIGAN AND COLORADO GROWS AS MARGIN IN OHIO SOLIDIFIES; SMALLER LEADS GROW IN NEW HAMPSHIRE AND VIRGINIA AS IOWA SEES SHARP DECLINE.
Additionally, Obama's lead strengthened over the past three days in Nevada but softened in Wisconsin and Pennsylvania; Romney's lead in Florida rose today only to fall again, settling just above Sunday's RCP averaged polling percentage. Romney also lost ground in North Carolina.
Mischief alert: Quite a bit of suspect outlier polling favorable to Romney was floated out in Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, and Michigan on Sunday in the face of multiple polls which confirmed consistently strong Obama leads in each of these states (the Karl Rove axiom of 'shaping perceptions to alter outcomes,' perhaps?).
---------------------------------------------------------
With 2 hours to go in the traditional presidential campaign, Real Clear Politics (RCP) reports that Obama leads in nine of their eleven toss-up states with Romney leading in two.
In descending order of 'percentage of lead' in favor of Obama, followed in ascending order of 'percentage of lead' in favor of Romney, here are the published averaged numbers from RCP as of 9:50pm EST together with the most recent FiveThirtyEight election night probabilities of victory for either candidate:
In WISCONSIN, with 10 electoral votes, Obama's lead fell Sunday to 4.2%, down from 5.0% on Saturday. However, FiveThirtyEight currently gives Obama a 96.9% chance of victory here, up by an astounding 11.2% since Tuesday.
In MICHIGAN, with 16 electoral votes, Obama's lead has returned to 4.0%, up from Sunday's 3.8%. FiveThirtyEight currently gives Obama a 99.2% chance of victory here, up 0.8% from Friday.
In PENNSYLVANIA, with 20 electoral votes, Obama's lead fell late Monday afternoon to 3.8%, down from 3.9% over the weekend. However, FiveThirtyEight currently gives Obama a 98.7% chance of victory here, up by a significant 4.6% since Tuesday.
In OHIO, with 18 electoral votes, Obama's lead settled late this afternoon at 2.9%, up from 2.8% this morning. FiveThirtyEight currently gives Obama an 91.2% chance of victory here, up by an astronomical 17.9% since Tuesday.
In NEVADA, with 6 electoral votes, Obama's lead has been holding at 2.8%, up from 2.4% on Friday. FiveThirtyEight currently gives Obama a 93.8% chance of victory here, up by 2.8% from Friday and by an astonishing 14.1% since Tuesday.
In IOWA, with 6 electoral votes, Obama's lead fell this afternoon to 2.4%, down sharply from 3.0% on Monday morning. However, FiveThirtyEight currently gives Obama an 85.0% chance of victory here, up by an astounding 11.1% since Tuesday.
In NEW HAMPSHIRE, with 4 electoral votes, Obama's lead this afternoon has settled at 2.0%, up from 1.5% over the weekend. FiveThirtyEight currently gives Obama a 84.9% chance of victory here, up by a substantial 6.2% from Friday.
In COLORADO, with 9 electoral votes, Obama's lead rose late this afternoon to 1.5%, up from 0.6% over the weekend. FiveThirtyEight currently gives Obama a 80.3% chance of victory here, up by an astonishing 13.6% from Friday.
In VIRGINIA, with 13 electoral votes, Obama this morning emerged with a lead of 0.3%, reversing a longstanding but narrowing Romney lead of 0.3% from Sunday. FiveThirtyEight currently gives Obama an 80.3% chance of victory here, up by an astronomical 15.5% from Friday.
---------------------------------------------------------------------
In FLORIDA, with 29 electoral votes, Romney's lead settled late this afternoon at 1.5%, up from 1.4% over the weekend. Interestingly, FiveThirtyEight currently gives Obama (and NOT Romney) a 52.5% chance of victory here, a significant turnaround of 3.2% from Friday.
Note: Romney's lead in Florida may be more fragile than 1.5% as RCP has chosen to include in their averaged polling two recent outlier findings of 6.0% and 5.0% in Romney's favor conducted by newspapers from conservative Tampa Bay and heavily Cuban Miami. As a consequence, the possibility remains that Romney's true lead here is less than 1.0% and may in fact be closer to that of dead heat.
In NORTH CAROLINA, with 15 electoral votes, Romney's lead fell this morning to 3.0%, down from 3.8% over the weekend. FiveThirtyEight currently gives Romney a 72.4% chance of victory here, down an astonishing 9.0% from Friday.
So...
In order for Obama to win re-election the least complex route would be through maintaining his existing leads in the five toss-up states where his current margins are widest (Wisconsin at 4.2%, Michigan at 4.0%, Pennsylvania at 3.8%, Ohio at 2.9%, and Nevada at 2.8%. Doing so would bring his electoral vote total on Election Day to 271. In this scenario, Obama could still surpass 270 while failing to hold Nevada, New Hampshire, Colorado, and Virginia.
However, should Obama fail to hold the strategic prize of a hotly-contested Ohio, the loss could effectively be neutralized by any of the following combination of wins from states where FiveThirtyEight is currently forecasting Obama victories:
Path #1: Obama loses Ohio but holds three of his remaining four toss-up states where his current leads are greatest, Iowa, New Hampshire, and Colorado resulting in 272 electoral votes.
Path #2: Obama loses Ohio but wins Virginia while also taking only one state from among Iowa, New Hampshire, or Colorado resulting in 272, 270, or 275 electoral votes, respectively.
----------------------------------------------------------
For Romney to unseat Obama, he not only would have to hold the two states in which he presently leads, North Carolina and Florida, bringing his electoral vote total to 235, but also steal victories in one of the two following possible combinations from states currently leaning Obama, listed in descending order of likelihood based on the reversed engineering of current FiveThirtyEight numbers for election night chances of victory:
Path A: Romney retakes Virginia and steals both Ohio and Colorado resulting in 275 electoral votes (least unlikely outcome).
Path B: Romney retakes Virginia and steals both Ohio and New Hampshire resulting in 270 electoral votes (more unlikely outcome).
Working against these two scenarios, however, are climbing averaged poll numbers for Obama over the past two days in all three of these states.
In any event, should Romney retake Virginia but fail to steal Ohio he could overcome this shortfall by capturing the four other states in which Obama's current leads are smallest (Colorado at 1.5%, New Hampshire at 2.0%, Iowa at 2.4%, and Nevada at 2.8%) resulting in an electoral vote total of 273.
--------------------------------------------------------
FiveThirtyEight this morning estimates the chance of Election Day victory for each candidate as follows: Obama 91.4% (up significantly from Friday morning's 80.9%) and Romney 8.6% (down by a similar margin from Friday's 19.1%).
FiveThirtyEight now also projects that on Election Day the final electoral tally will be as follows: Obama 314 (up 16 from Wednesday's 299) and Romney 224 (down 16 from Wednesday's 239).
Lastly, although it makes no difference in terms of the final result which can only be determined by the Electoral College, FiveThirtyEight currently predicts a national popular vote distribution on Election Day as follows: Obama 50.9% (up from Thursday's 50.4%) and Romney 48.5% (down from Thursday's 48.2%).
-------------------------------------------------------
A Few Election Day Predictions:
Expect on Tuesday a plethora of polling place horror stories from across the nation, including sporadic physical confrontations and resulting arrests involving Tea Party-backed poll watchers from TRUE THE VOTE, et al in multiple urban precincts throughout many if not all of the eleven toss-up states.
Expect craziness, if not sheer lunacy, in Republican Governor Rick Scott's Florida. Going forward, perhaps the National Guard should be charged with running elections here as state officials are clearly failing in their responsibilities.
Expect unwillingness on the part of the Republican Secretary of State in Ohio, Jon Husted, to call the election in his state in a timely manner.
Expect a mandatory recount in Colorado if the margin of victory falls below 1.0%, bearing in mind that the Republican Secretary of State in Colorado, Scott Gessler, is a doppelganger for Ohio's Jon Husted.
Expect Paul Ryan to retain his congressional seat in Wisconsin as a majority of voters in his district cast ballots against him at the national level while voting in support of him at the local level…perhaps as a form of 'contrition'.
Expect FOXNEWS to be clamoring for congressional investigations into Democrat voter fraud, less real than imagined, even before the polls close.
Expect Right Wing talk radio to begin fomenting, if not actually inciting, popular 'resistance' to the certification of the legitimate Electoral College outcome, and we all know what THAT is code for, while condemning the continued use of the Electoral College itself.
In spite of these obstacles, Obama wins the White House with an electoral vote tally of 303 to Romney's 235, taking Colorado and Virginia but failing to steal Florida, which in truth had already been stolen on behalf of Romney by Governor Rick Scott.
All legal challenges to the certification of the election that are filed in federal courts are summarily dismissed with prejudice and Barack Hussein Obama is sworn in on January 20, 2013 for his second term as President of the United States.
The very next day, and with no fanfare or publicity, the lights come on in Hillary Clinton's 2016 Presidential Campaign Headquarters.
The Romney Camp has released internal polling.
They expect to lose Nevada by 2.
Up 1 in Ohio, 2 in Iowa, up 3 in New Hampshire. Both Wisconsin and Pennsylvania tied.
Colorado, Florida, North Carolina, and Virginia were "in the bag", but they had to defend them fiercely.
In Nevada the unions put their last week push on to get what appears to be more than enough democrats to vote for Obama to keep it out of reach.
In Ohio, they expect to win by about 20,000 votes. The early vote advantage in Ohio is 6 points, down from 27 points (49 - 22) in 2008. Warning though, there is plenty of ground information to say Ohio might be a 5 point win for Romney. If this is true Sherrod Brown loses to Mandel.
Iowa is a surprise, in that Obama won so big in 2008 and appeared to have enough space despite a smaller advantage in early vote for it to stay Obama by 1 or 2 points.
New Hampshire is no surprise, the polling information of the polls showing Obama were so twisted in so many unique ways, that were about certain to be invalid.
Here's the real democrat problem right now. clearly the last couple of weeks of polls have internals that are also twisted. This may mean the Allen has soundly defeated Kaine. I would hope so. Kaine left McDonnell a deficit he had to jump through hoops to eliminate. I cannot fathom sending a budget buster to Washington at this time.
Same thing with Florida. If Romney is leading Florida as much as I saw, Mack will squeak through as Senator. In Pennsylvania, a tie with a lean toward romney might also bring Smith across the finish line too.
BTW: The Obama camp just snears and scoffs. This might be the last time they do that.
What's "snears"?
@RealAmericansFirst#1.23: It's one of those queer words DB likes to use as He generates big outrageous delusions. DB really enjoys writing delusions and passing gas. Hopes to someday gain a republican pedigree.
Our President said that he would bring the nation together. That did not work.
Our President said that he could work with the opposition party by reaching across the isle. That did not work.
Our President said that his administration would be free from lobbyists. That did not work.
Our President said that his administration would be the most transparent ever. That did not work.
Our President said that he would fix the economy within three years. That did not work.
Our President said that his health care bill would lower health care costs. That did not work.
Our President said that he would not raise taxes on 95% of Americans in any way. That did not work.
Our President said that his stimulus spending bill would solve our employment problem. That did not work.
Our President said that he would cut the deficit in half by the end of his first term. That did not work.
Our President has provided an economic "plan" for the next 4 years that is mathematically impossible. That cannot work.
I see a pattern here. Our President said that if he could not fix the economy within three year that he did not deserve a second term.
Real American
snears should have read sneers, and you know it.

the case were Mitt Romney to win on November 6th."
America can't afford 4 more years of Obama's failed policies.
Given the current economic condition of the U.S., Romney is the best person for the job.
STILL BAFFLED BY MYTH ROMNEY??? THIS MAKES SENSE . . .
"ROMNEYISM"
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/robert-reich/romneyism_b_2069095.html?utm_hp_ref=politics
The ten guiding principles of Romneyism are:
1. Corporations are the basic units of society. Corporations are people, and the overriding purpose of an economy is to maximize corporate profits. When profits are maximized, the economy grows fastest. This growth benefits everyone in the form greater output, better products and services, and higher share prices.
2. Workers are a means to the goal of maximizing corporate profits. If workers do not contribute to that goal, they should be fired. If they cannot then find other work that helps maximize profits in another company, their wages must be too high, and they must therefore accept steadily lower wages until they find a job.
3. All factors of production -- capital, physical plant and equipment, workers -- are fungible and should be treated the same. Any that fail to deliver high competitive returns should be replaced or discarded. This keeps an economy efficient. Fairness is and should be irrelevant.
4. Pollution, unsafe products, unsafe working conditions, financial fraud, and other negative side effects of the pursuit of profits are the price society pays for profit-driven growth. They should not be used as excuses to constrain the pursuit of profits through regulation.
5. Individual worth depends on net worth -- how much money one has made, and the value of the assets that money has been invested in. Any person with enough intelligence and ambition can make a fortune. Failure to do so is sign of moral and intellectual inferiority.
6. People who fail in the economy should not be coddled. They should not receive food stamps, Medicaid, or any other form of social subsidy. Coddling leads to a weaker society and a weaker economy.
7. Taxes are inherently bad because they constrain profit-making. It is the right and responsibility of individuals and corporations to exploit every tax loophole they (and their tax attorneys) can find in order to pay the lowest taxes possible.
8. Politics is a game whose only purpose is to win. Any means used to win the game is legitimate even if it involves lying and cheating, as long as it gains more supporters than it loses.
9. Democracy is dangerous because it is forever vulnerable to the votes of a majority intent on capturing the wealth of the successful minority, on whom the economy depends. The rich must therefore do whatever is necessary to prevent the majority from exercising its will, including spending large sums of money on lobbyists and political campaigns. The most virtuous among the rich will go a step further and run for president.
10. The three most important aspects of life are family, religion, and money. Patriotism is a matter of guarding our economy from unfair traders and undocumented immigrants, rather than joining together for the common good. We owe nothing to one another as citizens of the same society.
.
On Tuesday we'll decide whether these should be the guiding principles of America.
.
IS THIS WHAT YOU WANT FOR AMERICA?
HECK NO, VOTE O & JOE! :-)
Vote Romney/Ryan!
Don't vote for another four more years of failure from Obama!!
This stuff just doesn't stick so give it up KJNC. Romney is a nice guy. He's a decent guy who wants to help. He doesn't need to do this like Obama does, he wants to do it. He isn't a celebrity, he doesn't have cool friends like your guy does. He doesn't sit at the cool table at lunch.
But, he's a grown up who knows how to balance the budget and jump start the US economy. It's not sexy but it's something that has to be done.
Obama might look good in the letter jacket but it's all a facade. He's in way over his head. Besides if he does win he will be impeached for letting four men die in Benghazi.
Redhead,
Excellent post!
"Republicans Filibuster Everything, Romney Blames Obama for Not Working With Congress"
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/bob-cesca/republicans-filibuster-ev_b_2018663.html
"The Romney campaign released a shockingly Orwellian commercial over the weekend, which perpetuates something Romney himself has been saying for months now. Honestly, there's a book-length analysis to be written here, but I'll keep it as brief as possible given the depth and breadth of what the Republicans have been able to accomplish on this front.
The new ad blames President Obama for not reaching out and working with congressional Republicans to get things done. Yes, really. It also ballyhoos Mitt Romney's claim that he was able to work with a Massachusetts legislature that was 85 percent Democratic. . . .
And so the Republicans proceeded to rack up the highest number of filibusters in American history. During the president's first two years in office, the 111th Congress, there were 137 cloture motions filed to end Republican filibusters. During the president's second two years, the 112th Congress, there were 109 motions filed to end Republican filibusters and we still have a few more months to go. 246 total cloture motions. Compare this to George W. Bush's first term when there were a total of 133 cloture motions filed. Not even a handful of "sensible" Republicans had the guts to break ranks and vote with the Democrats. Meanwhile, on the House side, the Republican majority has voted in near-lockstep against almost everything. . . . "
.
VOTE O & JOE!
Redhead: Romney is NOT a nice guy. A nice guy doesn't hold a fellow student down while someone cuts the kids hair just because Mittens doesn't like the way he looks. A nice guy doesn't tie a dog to the roof of the family car - breaking the law in his home state. A nice guy doesn't close companies, through workers out into the streets, pocket their pension money, ship jobs overseas and walk away with Tens of Millions of Dollars. And a nice guy doesn't lie, and flip flop, and hide important details, and not reveal plans for the country. Your draft dodging, lying, thieving, secretive candidate is NOT a nice guy and is NOT fit to be President of the United States.

If the Democrats would have worked with the Republicans they wouldn't have to Filibuster. Ever think about that? Did you know that Appropriation(BUDGET) Bills are EXEMPT FROM THE FILIBUSTER? Why didn't the Democrats pass a FY2010 or FY2011 Budgets? They could have RAISED TAXES on the rich. They could have SPENT money ANYWAY THEY WANTED! WHY DIDN'T THEY PASS A BUDGET?
Redhead -- Romney isn't a nice guy. He's a pathological liar/sociopath. And yes, he does have to do this as he compulsively follows wherever the money leads. He's been bought and sold so many times in his life he's lost track of what he really does believe in, and he doesn't have a problem with that. Yes, he does have a history of creating jobs, it's just that they've been overseas. He must have been a bitc— to work for and now you want him in charge of the whole country. Unbelievable. If you can spell well enough to post your comments, you should be able to realize he's been lying to you every single day of the campaign and to top if off, you don't care. Also unbelievable.
Father Forgive Them For They Know Not What They Do Luke 23:34.

Here are a couple of additions to the comment of lakerman2:
A "nice guy" does not feign amnesia when confronted with an account of his homophobic gang assault.
A "nice guy" does not endorse candidates who believe if a teenage girl is made pregnant by her abusive alcoholic father, it is "God's will".
Mitt Romney is only a "nice guy" in the minds of those who will overlook virtually any character flaws to defeat President Obama not because he has been ineffective, but because he has been extraordinarily effective.
JD
Clearly you do not understand what you read.
What you believe in is man's dreams, not God's
Obama effective?? Well...I'm sure that's why he is in a dead heat race with the rest of America that thinks he has been an utter failure! You would rather vote for the same mistake twice. That tells me that you overlook the most obvious lack of traits of being an effective president. Sure...buy the same old tired line of hope and change...it was a nice slogan back in 2008, now it's just a cheap punch line...
Vote Romney/Ryan!
Don't vote for four more years of failure with Obama!
Redhead -
There's a good chance that Obama will also be facing a prison term for his actions during Benghazi and Fast & Furious. Benghazi is incompetence at its best, bordering on treason - and personally, I feel that his dereliction of duty is criminal. It is his motives which, when they do come out, will be found to be treasonous.
@Tammy-311614#2.13: Sure hope you don't drive drunk too.
Tammy, et al, you realize you'd actually have to have some sort of fact-y thingies to successfully prosecute someone, right? You can get away without them for impeachment (good luck with that, all the same), but as it stands, courts are still requiring evidence, versus made up crap in your head. Guess you can dream. Always a chance you can get some nice Nazi, anti-democracy judges in the Supreme Court, or re-write the constitution you all claim to hold so sacrosanct. Righties seem to love torture and oppressing voting rights, so I'm sure you'll have no issue with removing the necessity for evidence. Just like those good ol' courts in old USSR and China.
Ryan in Iowa I am full of crap and you suckers that vote for me will regret it for the rest of your lives.
Ryan in Iowa I am Smoking Crack.
Smoking crack would be more along the lines of what Obama has done...
Smoking crack would be more along the lines of what Obama has done...

Absolutely disgusting

Nevada1050....
President Obama is doing the single most important thing he can to assist fellow Americans afflicted by events beyond their control: defeat Mitt Romney.
Nevada, I notice that you (and others today) don't condemn ROMNEY for Campaigning today. Romney never STOPPED campaigning, in fact. He decided to send his supporters out to buy $5,000 worth of goods so that people coming to his "relief effort" could be handed a jar of peanut butter or a bottle of water in order to GET IN THE DOOR to hand it to Romney for a photo op and then they tried to sell T-SHIRTS and PINS and BUMPER STICKERS to those same people as they exited. Obama stopped campaigning for SEVERAL days while he got the FEMA stuff in motion, called the governors of the effected states and generally did what he could to get help to those who lost EVERYTHING.
If you're going to condemn one, you HAVE to condemn the other. Otherwise you just reveal yourself as a person who really DOESN'T care about those who lost everything. If it's ok for ROMNEY and RYAN to be on the campaign trail, it's ok for Obama. It's just that simple. Or are you another person who believes that Romney is allowed to operate under different rules from everybody else?
Bull, Nevada. Wrong. He's failed to help or even contact communities that were hit with disasters in Mass. WHEN HE WAS GOVERNOR OF MASS. He would NOT be doing a G-D thing other than what he WANTS to do. If Romney is "allowed" to be campaigning in the final days then so is Obama. After all, at least Obama DID SOMETHING TO HELP - whereas Romney just KEPT campaigning and tried to pass it off like he was trying to help.
Romney only cares about ROMNEY and his OWNERS.
http://www.sungazette.com/page/blogs.detail/display/1072/How-Mitt-Romney-governed-during-natural-disasters.html
Tell me again that Obama should NOT be campaigning. After all ... that's EXACTLY what Romney was doing when floods hit the state he was SUPPOSED to be Governing. He refused to HELP the people of his OWN STATE. Meanwhile, Obama was on the phone multiple times to the Governors of the effected states telling them if they needed anything to LET HIM KNOW.
Hey GT, so you don't believe the liberals are the party of racists? Go back into your history lessons and research which party was overwhelmingly against the Civil Rights Act. Then hand the crack pipe to O, he's going to need to dull his senses some more.
wgrider - you guys never get tired of that shell game, do you? Southern Strategy. Nixon. LBJ locking the transfer of racists from old Democratic party to the new Republican party with his support for Civil Rights Act. Were you hoping no one would notice?
Romney creates prosperity.
Obama creates poverty.
A prosperous country makes life better for everybody.
Romney creates more prosperity for the already prosperous.
Obama creates opportunity for all.
A prosperous country makes life better for everybody.
Welfare is up 32% under Obama's watch.
Unemployment has been chronically high for over 40 months.
Food stamp recipients have increased by 17 million.
Is this your idea of opportunity for all?
0bama creates prosperity?
Why am I making less than I did last year? Why will I pay more in taxes next year than last year?
Sadly, you are not alone. The median family income in the country is down $5,000 since Obama took office. If you want to make 10% less in 4 years, double down on that clown Obama.
Where is it written that any economic disaster of whatever gigantic proportions can be magically repaired within the period of one presidential term?
President Obama has been a great President even though he has been seriously distracted while trying to fix the awful mess you folks created. His second term will not face such distractions. That is exactly why you are nearly hysterical in your desire to defeat him.
National demographics do not bode well for you GOPeaParty folk. You know it. That's why you are feverishly trying to undo our democracy before it is too late for you to do so.
Ian
The forgotten depression of 1920 - 1923. You know how they got into the Depression? Do you know how they got out of it? I do, there really big spending programs and increasing taxes. Then that Stupid Calvin Coolidge reversed all that and that to the Hoover Crashed of the Market in 1929.
Ian - If you believe what I just wrote, you have bigger problems than you know. Even if you believe parts of what I just wrote, you are a victim of a really ideoloically based school teaching that thinks life ended with Herbert Hoover and began with FDR. Nothing could be further from the truth.
Actually the Depression from 1920 - 1923 was caused by government overspending and over taxing. Businesses couldn't handle the 5th tax increase in 5 years and with the drop of demand simply closed the business and layed everyone off. Unemployment jumped from about 5% to 9.5% during 1920. The Baffoons in government had no Idea what was going on.
Warren G Harding ran on cutting the spending and cutting taxes, just because it was obvious that the spending was severly bloated and had to be fixed and that raising taxes was not covering the bloated spending. Harding didn't know what he did was the correct prescription to cure a depression. His staff didn't even know that there was a depression because the numbers we track today were not in use yet.
With a series of 3 years of spending cuts and tax cuts, not only did the budget get back to balanced, but unemployment returned to 5% by the end of 1923. Republicans later caught on to the relation of government spending an economic performance and now live it.
Help me out here, when Obama states voting is the best revenge, exactly what was done that would entice one to seek revenge? Revenge on who?
Prediction: We won't have a declared winner of this election until several days/weeks from now.
RUreallythatnaive......
President Obama refers to "revenge" on those who are trying to disenfranchise millions of American voters.
DB Akron......
The Great Depression was, primarily, caused by REPUBLICAN policies which, essentially, turned our securities markets into casinos. It was the CLASSIC republican bubble. Much legislation was subsequently passed attempting to prevents its recurrence. Currently, republicans are working hard to return our economy to the days immediately before that depression.
A REPUBLICAN bubble is exactly what Romney's policies would produce (again). As always, the bubble will burst leaving the wealthy even more wealthy and the middle class picking up the bill and suffering the sorrows.
This is exactly why Romney wants to be president: to further economically insulate his class from "lower" classes.
Ian Emdee
Where is it written that any economic disaster of whatever gigantic proportions can be magically repaired within the period of one presidential term?
I believe your beloved O penned that line when he made the statement at the worst of the recession that if he didn't get it turned around in the first 4 years, he would be a one term president. I hold him at his word.
One and done.
Romney/Ryan 2012-2020
Our economy has "turned around"......wgrider.
Virtually all economic indicators are headed in positive direction.
BTW---Many of the statements made by candidate Obama (which you folks love to cite) were made BEFORE the bottom fell out of our economy in Sept. 2008 and beyond.
There is that clergy deception that pressures and confuses. When I attended parochial school it was drilled into us that the first requirement for committing a sin was that we had to personally believe it was a sin and then willfully do it anyway. This was stressed to the point that if something by rule wasn’t actually a sin but we thought it was and did it anyway, then it was a sin, with the reverse being just as true for when we don’t think something is a sin. You can’t just change things now to simply support religious biases. If people don’t think it is a sin or more likely if they think the alternative choice is wrong and the real evil, then you can’t force them to support that evil, to go against their conscience by advocating the clergy’s bias is more important. Much of religion is personal and simply strongly between the individual and God and to preach otherwise would seem literally anti-religion. If an individual voter thinks that it is wrong to support a grossly dishonest politician who self-servingly caters to “the money” for their support and who neglects his responsibilities to the people, just taking them for granted and trying to con and use them as “pawns”, that then would be the very grievous sin and then that is what they must avoid in order to have a clear conscience.
In spite of all the voter supression, lying by Romney and Ryan, whining by Romney and Ryan, Romney the Liar and Eddie Munster will lose and lose big!
Where is this mysterious voter suppression? Sheesh, you must be tired of regurgitation these lame talking point lies.
It didn't work, the people are too smart for you guys.
"Ain't" nothing mysterious about it. It must make you feel very proud to be affiliated with a political party whose idea of running a campaign, or the party for that matter, is based on scare tactics, voter suppression, disenfranchising voters, targeting low income, primarily black communities and trying to suppress their votes, voter intimidation. Yeah, that's a great party to belong to. Can you say mafia?

VOTE: O & JOE, FOR HONEST DEMOCRACY!
Democrats and pollsters are predicting a one percent increase in democratic voter participation over the record 08 levels this election.
Where is the suppression?
More than likely they are just laying the groundwork of excuses for their lackluster democratic enthusiasm.
Wow I can pull lies out of my a$$ all day too. Why don't you give some proof of this voter suppression?
Would this be like the Black Panthers in the last presidential election?
Why don't you give some proof of this voter suppression?
Hey Slingblade -
Gop heads in every swing State have used tactics to prevent voters, or at least make it very difficult to vote, such as stringent voter id laws based on non existent voter fraud allegations, to closing the polls early, which gives the Repubes an edge.
O&Joe in 24 hours
Slingblade and Repubes...That criticism hurt so much I'm going to now vote democrat.
I hope when all this is over Feisty gives you guys your balls back.
Redhead, how about the fact that Spanish voter registration materials in Arapaho Co. in Arizona were printed with the WRONG ELECTION DATE ON THEM? And it wasn't even that the date was written out (El Seis de Noviembre) it was a NUMBER (8 de Noviembre). How the HE11 do you mistake a 6 for an 8 when it's NUMBERS?
@Cat-1200657#7.8: Most republicans that can read and write, will write a pack of lies just as quickly as they will tell 'em. Fact they are always right proud to do such. Makes 'em feel more republican. Regards
"Gop heads in every swing State"
In EVERY swing state? Really? That sucking sound is your credibility, or what you had left anyway.
That's Right, Vice president-Elect Paul Ryan.
Gracious Thanks to you, for your willingness to serve our great nation!!!
God Bless America !!!
Hello, German Gem good too see you!

Princeton Election Consortium? A liberal group think. Pfff.
Romney/Ryan 2012
Nope. A neuroscientist/stat geek who correctly predicted every state in the 2004 election.
@Independent Thought#10.1: Just gotta try to grin and bear it. No matter how carefully you plan the picnic, no matter how carefully you check the ground before you spread the ground blanket, soon as you open the basket, the ants take over, and quick as a cat can lick it's ass, they've eaten every damn bite you brought, and there ain't a damn thing you can do about it. Ahh, such is life.
The bottom line is do we really want a president who is afraid to even do an interview with friends at Fox news. His handlers are afraid of his foot ending up in his mouth. He is unqualified to be President. He has changed his positions so many times that no matter what he says on an issue, it conflicts with something he has said in the last 12 months. Ryan has also been ordered to refuse to answer questions.
One thing for sure tho is I will be damn happy when the election is over no matter who wins.
Thanx guy
More Lyin Ryan.. win?? hah
Just two simple things wrong with the Romney/Ryan ticket.

@Nevada1050#15.2: Don't know who feeds you, but, I can tell what you been eating. I'm sure you are admired by the hardiest of America's bulls.
Ryan held up the farm bill. I'm amazed the people in Iowa don't "tar and feather" this chicken hawk and ride him out of town on a rail.
The R&R of the Romney/Ryan ticket means..REALLY RIDICULOUS!
It also means Rest and Relaxation, which they should be getting plenty of after Tuesday. Then when they're rested, they can look for work.
Ryan to Iowa: "We're going to win"
Iowa (and the rest of the nation) to Ryan: "The only thing you win is a one way ticket back to Janesville and the honor of being the answer to a "Trivial Persuit" question.
4 more for 44!
AMERICA TO THE THREE R's (Romney-Ryan-Republicans)..we are sick of your BS and stopping the nation from going FORWARD!
OBAMA 2012..to easy!
So Ryan says "we are going to win". Only in your wet dreams.
I almost started to reply to this rather long and boring rant with this statement, "I am surprised by the number of times Obama supporters have been re-posting exactly the same posts throughout all of the nbcnews forums!" Then I realized that the president they support has been essentially doing the same thing for this election: repeating the exact same things we heard four years ago. Eh, guess I shouldn't say anything after all.
Colbert for President - 2012 At least he admits he is joking.
Every year 44,000 people die because they don't have health care!!!
None of the Republicans Romney or Ryan care about this fact!!
The Republican health care plan for America: “don’t get sick.” If you have insurance don’t get sick, if you don’t have insurance, don’t get sick; if you’re sick, don’t get sick. Just don’t get sick. … If you do get sick America, the Republican health care plan is this: “die quickly.”
AJ -- They want to outlaw abortions and tighten access to birth control so we, "you people", can procreate enough to provide low-paid workers for their corporations and soldiers for their wars. Then when we reach a certain age, instead of providing health care for us, we can just die off and provide space for the next generation. Sounds extreme, I know, but if you take their policies and allow them to extend a generation or two into the future, that's the kind of society we'd end up with.
You're a LOSER, Pauley. Better start worrying about losing you congressional seat. Ahhhhh, wouldn't that be a beautiful thing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm sure Fox can always use another commentator....and DC can always use another lobbyist.
His entire term as President has been a waste of lives/time for American's
Soon a colossal mistake, recognizably corrected November 6th...
Preliminary indications submit strong proclivities to declare the aforesaid prediction of (Obama 2012)is quite precipitously implausible to gain consummation.
Therefore, the probability of 4 more for 44 is characterized incorrectly.
And, A false concept for the egress of hope & change has evolved into severely hyperbolic shame & blame...
& 4 more of the same?... Insanity much?
Sorry, 4warders, America would rather not wallow indulgently
in the Equus asinus excrement... aka (donkey dung)
