Biden: 'It's all over but the shoutin''

STERLING, Va. -- For a second time in two days, Vice President Joe Biden on Monday predicted a strong electoral showing for Democrats, saying "it's all over but the shoutin.'"

"I'm feeling good," the vice president told reporters at Mimi's Cafe during an unscheduled stop. "I really am but you know, as an old expression goes it's all over but the shoutin'."

The day before Election Day, Vice President Joe Biden attacks rivals former Gov. Mitt Romney and Rep. Paul Ryan on women's issues, the economy and foreign policy during a final campaign stop in Sterling, Va.

Biden predicted - as he did yesterday in an interview with MSNBC's Chris Matthews - that the Obama-Biden ticket will prevail in "firewall" states, but he acknowledged that swing states of Virginia and Florida could be squeakers.

"I'll take a one-vote majority, but I think we have a clear shot at doing well and the so-called firewall," he said, envisioning victory in Ohio, Wisconsin, Iowa, Nevada and New Hampshire.

"I think Florida will be close but I think we have a real shot of winning," he added. "And this state, we got a clear shot of winning it."

Biden's last full day of pre-election campaigning in virginia marks his ninth trip to the state this year.

He is barnstorming today with Senate candidate Tim Kaine, Virginia Sen. Mark Warner and retiring Sen. Jim Webb.

Dear Domenico: Congratulations on the birth of your new daughter! I am sure that older brother is very excited and mom is thrilled!

I hope you get some time off to spend with your daughter, so much fun to get to know a newborn!

If we can stop Governor Rick Scott from personally sending everyone home from the polls in Florida...In Miami-Dade, hundreds of folks stayed up till pre-dawn casting their ballots voting. When folks were shut out last night, they protested "Let us vote!"

Scott and co. have NO consideration for these folks' work hours, or family needs. He has the attitude that citizens are FORTUNATE to be allowed to vote.

We need a non-partisan group to monitor U.S. voting, as the corruption from GOP legislatures has gone too far.

Paul Ryan is telling crowds that an Obama administration is a threat to our "Judeo-Christian values."

This moment is surely a low point in American political history. Paul Ryan wouldn't know Jesus if he came up to him at the gym. Paul Ryan is more like a Pharisee than a true Chrisitian. It makes me so angry Paul Ryan would say such a stupid thing. Furthermore, requiring health insurance to cover contraception is hardly an assault on our "freedoms." Especially as making contraception easier to obtain for lower income young women, reduces the number of abortions. Shame on Paul Ryan. Shame on Wisconsin if it votes for him!

P.S. Did everyone notice how Mitt & Ann were campaigning together all weekend? I thought she was his best weapon-wouldn't you have thought she'd be out there at her own events, like Michelle Obama was? Maybe the Romneys were consoling each other between stops.

Sorry...the election was decided yesterday at around 4 pm EST when the Redskins final desperation play came up waaaaaay short and the Carolina Panthers handed them a loss in their final home game before the election. According to the "Redskins Rule" this means that the incumbent party's candidate (in this case President Obama) will lose. And the Redskins rule has been right every election since 1940 with one exception. No need to even have the election at this point. So Democrats...if you want to get mad at someone, don't look at either of the candidates or their surrogate...train your anger at RGIII!!! ;-)

Shout out to those who have all come against an unrelenting war against women by GOP. According to Newsweek, the Senate only confirmed 43% of Obama's judicial appointments in his first 18 months, compared to between 79 and 93% in the first 18 months of his predecessors Bush 43, Clinton, Bush 41, Reagan, and Carter. Democrats controlled the Senate during Obama's first 18 months, but the minority Republicans managed to block 57% anyway.

Any party's obstructionism has never been worse than the Republican obstructionism in the last 4 years. Republicans have proven they put Party before Country time and time again n the last 4 years. They deserve to be fired.

Integrity and Romney don't even belong in the same sentence together, when you are running for POTUS on a "secret agenda" integrity doesn't enter into it, just constant lies, lies, lies, and flip, flop after flip, flop. Yeah, "Let's take America back", back to a time that the Republicans seem to PINE for, the 1950's, when women ONLY had the right to vote, African Americans had NO rights, and Employers had ALL the rights !! How about Florida and Ohio suppressing votes? What say you

Why Sally Kohn is voting for Barack Obama

Every morning the haters over @ FUX NOOSE asked for e-mails why one should note vote for our President.
Well, Sally Kohn got her endorsement of our President published on the Faux News website! She’s asking for help in making it go viral. I don't think this what is what the fictionalization of the news by Fox News hammering away at their fervent anti-Obama diatribes expected.

Yes, I am voting for President Obama because of what he has achieved. When President Obama took office, the country was losing 800,000 jobs per month. Under his leadership, the economy has created 5.2 million private sector jobs — still not as many as we need, but unquestionable progress getting us out of the hole Republican policies dug us into. And the president saved America’s auto industry and the jobs of over a million autoworkers.

The president passed historic legislation built on a Republican model to end insurance company abuses and provide affordable, quality health insurance to over 30 million Americans who otherwise would go to emergency rooms and pass the bill on to all of us.

President Obama cut taxes for 95% of Americans, spurring economic spending and helping us all weather the recession. President Obama doubled funding for Pell Grants, to help more poor and middle class Americans succeed in the 21st century economy. And the President ended the war in Iraq, and is ending the war in Afghanistan, so that we can focus on much-needed nation building right here at home.

But I am also voting for Barack Obama because of what he believes. John Adams wrote, Government is instituted for the common good; for the protection, safety, prosperity, and happiness of the people; and not for profit, honor, or private interest of any one man, family, or class of men.” Barack Obama believes government can’t solve every problem but is not the source of all our problems either. America is still a great nation to start a business and raise a family because America is a nation — because we pull together for the common good, because we are more than the sum of our parts.

This fundamental compact of our nation is threatened by Mitt Romney and the Tea Party. Sadly, there are many things we don’t know about Romney — where he really stands on reproductive freedom and Iran and climate change. But we do know that — whether it’s turning Medicare into a voucher system and raising raising costs for future generations of seniors or privatizing Social Security or giving more tax cuts to the already-rich even though they don’t create jobs — Mitt Romney represents an agenda that gives handouts to big business and billionaires while telling struggling poor and middle class families that you’re on your own.

President Obama wants to ensure all of us have a shot at the American Dream — that our public schools, our health care system, our safety nets and our economy work just as well for your kids whether you’re rich or poor or somewhere in the middle, that the American Dream can never be downsized or shipped to China.

And when disaster strikes, whether it’s the storms of nature or poverty or a terrorist attack, President Obama will ensure our government is there not to get in the way but to help. Through the most trying of times, from when the walls of Wall Street came crashing down to when our forces crashed through the walls of Abbottabad, President Obama has been a strong leader for a strong nation — upholding the very best of our values and offering the best promise for our future. I hope you will join me in support President Barack Obama on November 6th.

I love this response from Valarie Jarrett re the election. I believe it says it all!

HERE NOW IS THE UPDATE WSI RECEIVED VIA A SOURCE FROM CHICAGO THIS MORNING:

A rep from Jarrett office was in today. She gave us a finish line pep talk and then afterwards, heard her saying how Jarrett is very excited about a 2nd term agenda and a big part of that agenda is to punish everyone who opposed them during the first term and the campaign. Strange that everything was “Ms. Jarrett wants this, and Ms. Jarrett is looking forward to that”. You hardly heard Obama’s name mentioned by her which I guess reinforces what people are saying. Valerie Jarrett really is the power in the White House. I know that when her representative showed up it was like royalty was visiting. All the big dogs were lined up to meet her and acting real friendly and they gave us a heads up an hour before and told us we better “put on a good show” while she was here.

The part that really stuck out to me was when I overheard the rep say that Jarrett told them, “After we win this election, it’s our turn. Payback time. Everyone not with us is against us and they better be ready because we don’t forget. The ones who helped us will be rewarded, the ones who opposed us will get what they deserve. There is going to be hell to pay. Congress won’t be a problem for us this time. No election to worry about after this is over and we have two judges ready to go.” She was talking directly to about three of them. Sr. staff. And she wasn’t trying to be quiet about it at all. And they were all listening and shaking their heads and smiling while she said it. Pretty creepy.

Based on the logistical and technical issues that have cropped up in early voting, I'll be interested to see if there are documented facts about repeat or continuing issues in Florida. And if so, where they occurred.

Pennsylvania and Ohio will be interesting also due to the on-going confusions associated with Voter ID, restricted access to the polls (not ADA compliant or "elderly accessible"), and the reduction in the number of voting machines and polling stations in high population density areas.

What foreign policy do you think is not working? Has President Obama lied us into a dumb war costing over 4000 innocent American lives?

I have seen a chart made from real numbers not republican lies that show the deficit has been reduced since President Obama was elected.

While rejecting the truth you are going to vote for a candidate who has told more provable lies that any candidate in my memory and I am 64.

I have seen candidate stretch the truth, make promises they couldn't keep but never have I seen a candidate lie about voters jobs and lie to try and hurt their employers like Romney did about Jeep.

Then the republicans want you to believe Romney as trustworthy even though he has been caught in lie after lie. Just like the taking the work out of welfare lie. Romney knows it a lie as he wrote one of the letters asking for the exemptions that President Obama gave the states governors.

I am so ready for the republicans to quit lying to us.

Someone has to stop the stupidity from the current president and his runaway spending. Obstructing? How does that differ from the last two years of the Bush administration when Progressives did the same?

You blame Bush for everything, but his deficit wasn't in the $T's, was it? Neither was the unemployment rate, or gasoline or the cost of groceries.

One thing though, Barry should go home to Chicago or Hawaii or where ever before he wrecks everything even more. He has some time left to create Presidential edicts that can cause us all more harm. If he loses, I wonder what Valarie Jarrett programs will come out of the WH?

First - Why do you keep complaining about the Bush era? Do you not know the TRUTH that both the House and Senate were democrat controlled? The TRUTH was that Obama and Biden were obstructionist Senators during Bush's last term?

The TRUTH is that the economy spiralled downhill during Bush's last year and Obama/Biden were part of the cause.

I know that the democrats tried to set a time line for ending the Iraq war and that bush vetoed it. So nothing got passed that bush didn't want to pass.

All the damage had been done by the time the democrats got elected. All the wars and tax cuts that created the deficit were already in place by the republicans. The greedy bankers were already making deals that would bring down our economy and nearly the worlds.

We are all so sick of your lies. Tired of you blaming President Obama for the lack of jobs when republicans have voted against every job including those for our returning veterans.

Interesting that when Obama was a senator, it was the senate that caused the crash, and now that Obama is president, it is now the presidents fault for the bad economy. Republicans always changing the rules to make their lies fit. Republicans wouldn't know the truth if it hit them across their head.

    #7.6 - Mon Nov 5, 2012 5:51 PM EST

1funnygirl - yes, President G. W. Bush's deficits WERE in the "$Ts", 5 trillion to be precise. In fact, we were on route to a budget surplus when he spent that down also. Feel free to fact check that wherever you want.

And if you recall, it was during the end of his administration we were losing over 700K jobs a month (again feel free to fact check, this time I suggest the BLS). When you subtract out the jobs that his policies cost the US versus what was gained, President Bush "created" 3 and a fraction million jobs in 8 years. To date, President Obama is at over 5 million in 4.

Regarding gas prices at the end of President Bush's adminsitration, the simple fact is that the cost dropped due to the recession and no one was buying gasoline. Feel free to fact check the highest gas price DURING his entire tenure and compare that to President Obama's.

Oh boy!!! Am I getting tired of having to explain this, THE DEMOCRATS DID NOT HAVE CONTROL, OF THE HOUSE AND SENATE! They had a "majority", yes, BUT to have had CONTROL, they would had to have had a 60+ voting majority in the Senate, the Dems. DID NOT have it. To have CONTROL of the House of Representatives, they would have to have had a "CLEAR" 2/3rds voting majority, the Dems. DID NOT have it. Why do you think that there were such a RECORD number of filibusters during that time? Do you not pay attention to how our legislative system works, or did you fail civics class?

All I'll say is this. I have yet to see an electoral college projection placing Romney above 270, unless you take severe liberties with the map & there is MASSIVE systemic failure of the pollsters. Still, I see Jack@$$ Rick Scott is doing his job to make it harder to vote & Romney's son invested in the company that owns the voting machines. Is that the only way Republicans can win? And how do you win a modern U.S. election by losing the Hispanic vote 7:1?

For over two hundred years, we have voted on a SINGLE election day. Now some states have early voting with very limited polling places. That's why the lines are so ridiculous.

BTW - Rick Scott is a very good governor. Very fiscally responsible.

Pango, Rick Scott is a lock-step Rove adherent, he was also the CEO of the Columbia Hospital Group that defrauded Medicare and was fined big bucks, Scott skated, also refused funds for high speed rail between Tampa and Orlando, cut our early voting days from 14 to 8, instituted fewer Polling Stations and refused to reinstate Sunday, Souls to the Polls day, some cases its taken 8 hours to vote and the ballot is 4 pages long with nonsense amendments. The man is a disgrace. Suppression of the vote, make it so miserable people give up in disgust.

Why would a state provide for early voting but not for enough resources at the polling places?

Sound like Florida is stuck on stupid.

All American Patriots. If you vote by touch screen, be sure you check your ballot before you leave the polling booth. Hundreds of reports surfacing that when you vote for Romney, the screen switches your vote to Hussein Obama. The democrat-communists, under George Soros, will do anything to keep their communist leader in office. CHECK YOUR BALLOTS BEFORE YOU EXIT THE POLLING BOOTH......

The very fact that Obama wont address the Libya,Benghazi cover-up, and by his own words saying there's no need to talk about it before the election (like that is an answer) is proof that he is dirty,And his followers don't even want to know the truth of a set-up,murder and cover-up of a ambassador that dared to disagree with him and his policy's

The official story surrounding the events of September 11, 2012 in Benghazi, Libya which left four Americans dead, has now officially fallen apart.

After numerous flips and flops by the Obama administration, which originally attempted to paint the incident as a Muslim outcry over an anti-Islamic video, whistle blowers throughout the U.S. government, including within the White House, the State Department, national intelligence agencies and the U.S.military have made available stunning details that suggest not only did operational commanders have live visual and audio communications from drones overhead and intelligence assets on the ground, but that some commanders within the military were prepared to go-it-alone after being told to "stand down."
Africom commanding officer U.S. General Carter Ham, after being ordered to essentially surrender control of the situation to alleged Al Queda terrorists and let Americans on the ground die, made the unilateral decision to ignore orders from the Secretary of Defense and activated special operations teams at his disposal for immediate deployment to the area.(if the general had not intervened' there would be 34 dead Americans and not just 4---And now Obama has the U.S. General Arrested for Activating Special Forces Teams; Ignoring Libya Stand-Down Order. (Obama does not like the real light to be shined on him,HuH!)

One last plea, to all Conservative Christians that have not voted yet, and unless you’re a devoted Ayn Rand Disciple, and believe in her philosophies, Wakeup, and come to your senses! You are being misled into voting against your better interests! Your Republican Party has been taken over by a bunch of Ayn Rand Disciples, and people like Glen Beck, Sean Hannity, Rush Limbaugh, and most of the talking heads on the Right are devoted followers of hers. And, then there’s Paul Ryan, Romney’s running mate, and there’s Karl Rove, Grover Norquist, heck even Ronald Reagan was a follower’s of Ayn Rand’s philosophies. I could go on and on with names, but hopefully these will be enough to convince you to come to your senses. And, if you don’t want to take my word for it, it doesn’t take that long to google their names and find out.

Now, as for Romney, I’m not sure just what he really is, except that he is Mormon, and he’s a pathological liar besides being a borderline psychopath. Now, I know President Obama has caught nothing but flack from the Right, but in his defense that has been part of their strategy from the beginning of every Democrats Presidency. It’s just part of an ongoing plan they use after they get voted out of office, and most of you should recognize the following tactic the Right uses, because it’s been their strategy for decades now.

The first thing they do is, they endlessly insist that Government creates all of our problems.

Second is the self-fulfilling prophecy of bad government under Republican leadership, as the Bush recessions of 1991 and 2007, the Hurricane Katrina response, the Iraq catastrophe and the transfer of federal oversight powers to the industries being regulated all showed.

Third, when the backlash from the American people inevitably comes as it did in 1992 and 2008, attack the very legitimacy of the new Democratic president they elected.

Fourth, they turn to the filibuster and other obstructionist tactics in an attempt to block the Democratic agenda, inaction for which the incumbent majority will be blamed.

And, lastly they target the institutions and programs (Social Security, Medicare, the IRS) which form the underpinnings of progressive government.

Now, back to Ayn Rand, do you people have any idea of what Ayn Rand’s philosophies were? If not, her philosophies were centered around Objectivism. Whereas, selfishness is considered a virtue, and the world is made up of what she considered as Creators and Parasites. In other words, most of our citizenry is made-up of parasites, unless you happen to be in the prestigious 1 percent. Now, here is the real kicker for all of you Conservative Christians that have been misled and fooled. Objectivism, also considers all people of religious faith as nothing but FOOLS, and are incapable of reason. They lack the ability to reason for themselves, in a sane manner! Now, just stop and think, if they only think of you as FOOLS. Then that means that they don’t think much of you period, and so, how could they honestly have your best interests at heart? In other words, you are being used solely as pawns just to further their goals, and they really could care less about what happens to you in the long term. Another very interesting facet of Ayn Rand was, she was a rigid proponent of the right of women to have abortions! I’ll bet that very few of you knew that, but if you did, and continued to preach your Right to Life views, and all while you were supporting Ayn Rand’s philosophies, then you are nothing more than the true definition of a hypocrite!

Your Party has purposely destroyed our economy, and just to put themselves in the position to say, look, we warned all of you that Ayn Rand’s Novel Atlas Shrugged would come to pass, and low and behold it has, but in truth, only because of their intentional fiscal irresponsibilities of the past four decades, and malice intentions of making it happen! They want a two-class society in this country, and will stop at nothing to make that a reality! The Creators and the Parasites!

So, hopefully all of the Conservative Christian’s will finally wakeup, and realize that they’ve been made fools of, before it’s too late, so as, we all don’t become slaves to the prestigious 1 percent! A Plutocracy form of government is knocking on our door, if they don’t wakeup!

"It's all over but the shouting."

            I don't think so.

The republicans have been shouting since 2008, blaming things on President Obama since day one.

They will continue to blame things on Obama for the next for years, regardless of who wins this election.

If Romney wins, they deserve what they get.

But we know that won't happen:)

So either way, the shouting will continue, it always has.

Republican way...blame your troubles on someone else.
