Ryan launches campaign 'barnburner' in Obama-leaning Nevada

RENO, Nev. – Republican vice presidential nominee Paul Ryan kicked off what he called a "barnburner" of a final day on the campaign trail, courting voters out west in Nevada.

GOP vice presidential nominee Paul Ryan stopped by a campaign event in Reno, Nev., to rally supporters behind Governor Mitt Romney, saying "What we have is a leader ... a man of achievement, a man of faith, a man of accomplishment."

“Are you gonna help us win this thing Nevada? We're doing a barnburner today. We are crisscrossing the country Mitt and I are because we are asking you to work with us, to stand with us to get our country back on the right track,” Ryan told the crowd inside a hangar at the Reno Tahoe International Airport.

Ryan is holding five campaign rallies in four time zones Monday while Romney is holding five events along the East Coast.

Monday’s stop in Reno marks the GOP VP nominee’s sixth event in the Silver State and, with national polls tight between Romney and President Barack Obama, Ryan said Tuesday’s election could come down to Nevada.

"Look, a handful of states are gonna figure this out. So many Americans are looking to you, right here in Reno, right here in Nevada, and a handful of states like my own. And they're looking to you to make sure that you cast your vote for actual real change. That you cast your vote to get us off this dangerous path that we are on and back on the right track," he said to the roughly 1,000 people in attendance.

Ryan was joined by his wife and three children in addition to Romney’s son, Craig, at this first stop of the day less than 24 hours before polls open.

“Nevada we are counting on you. We know you can do this. We are in this together and let's just run through the tape, let's leave it all on the field,” Ryan asked supporters before heading off to Colorado for his next event.

Anyone else notice how blatantly absent Lyin Ryan has been from talking to national reporters, holding campaign events in key states? They've put him out to pasture over the last several weeks. Says alot about the campaign and how they really view their candidate and the high hopes they had with him on the ticket.

No, CantAffordNoMore, WE are going to stand together to reelect President Barack Obama! The president doesn't have to "try" and tell the American public anything, that is Romney, and he stands there with a smug smile and LIES to your face and you and others like you buy it as easily as if you were buying a gallon of milk. We know all the great things that the reelected president has done and will do in the last four years and the four years to come.

Romney is going to listen when you speak? What a joke! You see how Romney is ignoring the peoples questions by the reporters for 3 weeks now?

The way he turns his back and ignores the questions is the same way he will turn his back and ignore you.

Mitt still owns stock in Bain and making money off Bain. He wouldn't even ask his own company to keep jobs in America in an election year and you want us to believe he cares about the people? Obviously you didn't listen to the 47% tape very well.

Totally correct! The only people that Romney will listen to are the millionaire/billionaires who bought him. He will be told what to do by the likes of Norquist and Rove. After all, Norquist and his buds just want someone in the Oval Office who has all the necessary digits to hold a pen and sign whatever they put in front of him. That is who the Republicans want? Yeah, says quite alot about today's Republican party.

A woman in a hot air balloon realized she was lost. She lowered her altitude and spotted a man in a boat below. She shouted to him, "Excuse me, can you help me? I promised a friend I would meet him an hour ago, but I don't know where I am."

The man consulted his portable GPS and replied, "You're in a hot air balloon, about 30 feet above ground elevation of 2,346 feet above sea level. You are at 31 degrees, 14.97 minutes north latitude and 100 degrees, 49.09 minutes west longitude.

She rolled her eyes and said, "You must be a Republican.

"I am," replied the man. "How did you know?"

"Well," answered the balloonist, "everything you told me is technically correct. But I have no idea what to do with your information, and I'm still lost. Frankly, you've not been much help to me."

The man smiled and responded, "You must be an Obama-Democrat."

"I am," replied the balloonist. "How did you know?"

"Well," said the man, "you don't know where you are -- or where you are

going. You've risen to where you are, due to a large quantity of hot

air. You made a promise you have no idea how to keep, and you expect me

to solve your problem. You're in exactly the same position you were in

before we met, but somehow, now it's my fault."

Washington Redskins loss Sunday predicts Romney victory

Redskins fans might have been disappointed their team lost 21-13 to the Carolina Panthers, but Mitt Romney likely was not.

WHEN the "Redskins Rule" holds up Tuesday, the Republican presidential nominee will become the country's 45th president.

The rule says a Redskins win in the team's final home game before Election Day keeps the incumbent party in power and a loss means the other party claims the White House.

Since 1940, the rule has predicted the winner 17 out of 18 times.

The only time the rule failed was in 2004 when the Redskins lost to the Green Bay Packers.

That year, Republican President George W. Bush won re-election over challenger and Democratic Massachusetts Sen. John Kerry.

Why Romney Will Win

12:20 PM, Nov 5, 2012 • By FRED BARNES

Mitt Romney will win. The tie in the polls goes to the challenger. Here's why:

Enthusiasm. It matters enormously, and it's disproportionately on the Republican side, in good measure because of an intense desire to defeat President Obama. True, enthusiasm doesn't guarantee an edge in turnout, but it's certainly a key indicator. "In these final days, turnout is driven by intensity," says Republican pollster Ed Goeas. The nearly half the electorate that strongly disapproves of Obama's performance in office "will need little else other than the opportunity to vote against President Obama to motivate them to go to their polling place." Goeas conducts the bipartisan Battleground Poll along with Democrat Celinda Lake.

In 2008, self-identified Democrats led Republicans in turnout by seven percentage points. Gallup's projection is that Republicans will have a 49-46 percent edge this year. "The political environment and the composition of the likely electorate strongly favor Governor Romney," Goeas says. The Battleground Poll's "vote election model" projects Romney with 51 percent.

Ground game. The Obama get-out-the-vote drive (GOTV) is not quite the powerful juggernaut it was in 2008 and the Republican effort is far better than four years ago. The Republican National Committee isn't alone this time. Americans for Prosperity and a coalition of a dozen conservative groups—from the National Rifle Association to the Republican Jewish Coalition—have put together a massive GOTV effort focused on swing voters in key states. They've averaged 1.8 million phone calls per day in recent days.

Early voting numbers are further evidence of ground game parity. Democrats have a slight edge, but their numbers are down significantly from 2008. Far more Republicans have voted early this year than in 2008.

Undecideds. Undecided voters are thought to vote disproportionately for the challenger over a sitting president. In truth, there's no empirical evidence for this widely acknowledged tendency. But to the extent it exists, it helps Romney. Goeas, for one, figures most still undecided voters simply won't vote.

Indicators. Many point to a Romney win. He does well among "high-propensity-voting" blocs such as, in the Battleground Poll, seniors (54 percent), married voters (56 percent), weekly church attendees (59 percent), white evangelicals (79 percent), and gun owner householders (60 percent). He also leads among key demographic groups such as suburban voters (54 percent), Catholics (53 percent), and middle class voters (52 percent).

Obama has large leads among groups such as Hispanics with a lower propensity to vote. "If the president's campaign is not able to replicate his 2008 electorate (which is looking increasingly unlikely), the president loses," Goeas says.

Issues. The most important ones favor Romney: the economy, the deficit, and the debt. Independents, the demographic group most sensitive to these issues, went for Obama by eight percentage points in 2008. Now they're tilting to Romney by roughly the same percentage.

Conclusion: Romney will be elected the 45th president of the United States.

Ryan has burned his bridges, as far as being a "good Catholic".

He's told so many lies, the confessional will catch a'fire when he goes to see the priest.

Ryan will be whispering "Hail Mary's" for many a year.

The nuns and priests are STILL hounding him over his cruel budget, and he has the gall to lecture about "good citizenry & discipline" for poor people.

What a sheiser Ryan is.

NOTE:

USA Today Article.

Obama has a pretty formidable lead in Nevada in the early vote, but not as big as in 2008. Romney has to make inroads into two counties to win, which data suggests Romney has. The question in Nevada is now if Romney has cut in enough in those areas, which is why Ryan is in Nevada today.

The latest theory from the pundits is, the Obama campaign won by defining Romney months ago, as an out of touch, wealthy Bain Capital executive, to which, I suspect, the Democrats would answer: "did we tell you to nominate a guy who only paid 14% of his $20 million income in taxes (at least, for the two years he released returns for, there is evidence he paid ZERO taxes for sixteen years before that.)"

MITT ROMNEY PAID ZERO TAXES 1996 - 2009

Some Romney supporters (no doubt especially Mormon supporters) brush this off because it is a legal charitable loophole. But this is BIG news because:

1) It proves Romney lied about paying taxes every year of at least 13%. One might note in retrospect his slip in making a math error in which he added his charitable contribution to tax paid -- Hmmm?

2) Who gives a flying @#$%! what an obscenely wealthy plutocrat like Romney gives to his one particular church? What is this, the days when Lords were told they could go to heaven if they donated all the wealth to the Catholic Church when they died?

Our nation needs revenue for our nation! I'm not concerned about the LDS church or the Vatican or any other religious coffers. I do not want the prophet or the pope playing a more important role for the POTUS compared to the United States of America.

We need to reform so many things from our election system to our tax code. Enough of this crap -- THIS is what would make the USA like Greece -- Rich people like Romney not pitching in their fair share in taxes.

But Romney is a LIAR, he lied before about paying taxes in Massachusetts, and he has lied again about paying taxes. Do people really want a Liar in CEO in the White House? Come on!!! Romney CANNOT be rewarded for not providing multiple years of tax returns in full, nor for his friggin' non-stop lying!

Updated as of 3:00pm EST on Monday, November 5, 2012:

*** OBAMA, AT LONG LAST AND AS EXPECTED, PULLS AHEAD IN VIRGINIA WHILE WIDENING HIS LEAD IN NEW HAMPSHIRE.

Additionally, Obama's leads strengthen over the weekend in Ohio and Iowa while softening in Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, and Michigan; Romney successfully expands his lead in Florida while losing slight ground in North
Carolina.

Curiously, polling in Colorado has been strangely absent over the past three days.

Mischief alert: Quite a bit of suspect outlier polling favorable to Romney was floated out in Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, and Michigan on Sunday in the face of multiple polls which confirmed consistently strong Obama leads in each of these states (the Karl Rove axiom of 'shaping perceptions to alter outcomes,' perhaps?).

---------------------------------------------------------

With 9 hours to go in the 2012 presidential campaign, Real Clear Politics (RCP) reports that Obama leads in nine of their eleven toss-up states with Romney leading in two.

In descending order of 'percentage of lead' in favor of Obama, followed in ascending order of 'percentage of lead' in favor of Romney, here are the published averaged numbers from RCP as of 3:00pm EST together with the most recent FiveThirtyEight election night probabilities of victory for either candidate:

In WISCONSIN, with 10 electoral votes, Obama's lead fell Sunday to 4.2%, down from 5.0% on Saturday. However, FiveThirtyEight currently gives Obama a 94.5% chance of victory here, up by 1.2% from Friday and by an astounding 8.8% since Tuesday.

In PENNSYLVANIA, with 20 electoral votes, Obama's lead fell Sunday to 3.9%, down from 4.1% on Saturday. However, FiveThirtyEight currently gives Obama a 97.9% chance of victory here, up by 1.8% from Friday and by a significant 3.8% since Tuesday.

In MICHIGAN, with 16 electoral votes, Obama's lead fell Sunday to 3.8%, down from 4.0% on Saturday. However, FiveThirtyEight currently gives Obama a 98.7% chance of victory here, up 0.3% from Friday and by 0.6% since Tuesday.

In IOWA, with 6 electoral votes, Obama's lead rose late Sunday to 3.0%, up from 2.0% on Saturday morning. FiveThirtyEight currently gives Obama an 81.2% chance of victory here, down by 1.4% from Friday but up and by a substantial 7.3% since Tuesday.

In OHIO, with 18 electoral votes, Obama's lead this afternoon has risen to 3.0%, up from 2.8% this morning. FiveThirtyEight currently gives Obama an 86.8% chance of victory here, up by 6.1% from Friday and by an astronomical 13.5% since Tuesday.

In NEVADA, with 6 electoral votes, Obama's lead has been holding at 2.8%, up from 2.4% on Friday. FiveThirtyEight currently gives Obama an 90.0% chance of victory here, up by 2.8% from Friday and by an astonishing 10.3% since Tuesday.

In NEW HAMPSHIRE, with 4 electoral votes, Obama's lead this afternoon has settled at 1.7%, up from 1.5% over the weekend. FiveThirtyEight currently gives Obama a 80.2% chance of victory here, up by 1.5% from Friday and by an astounding 9.9% since Tuesday.

In COLORADO, with 9 electoral votes, Obama's lead has been holding at 0.6%, down from 0.9% on Friday. FiveThirtyEight currently gives Obama a 69.7% chance of victory here, up by 4.0% from Friday and by an astronomical 14.3% since Tuesday.

In VIRGINIA, with 13 electoral votes, Obama early this morning emerged with his own lead of 0.3%, reversing a longstanding but narrowing Romney lead of 0.3% from Saturday. FiveThirtyEight currently gives Obama a 72.6% chance of victory here, up by a substantial 7.8% from Friday.

---------------------------------------------------------------------

In FLORIDA, with 29 electoral votes, Romney's lead this morning has risen to 1.8%, up from 1.4% over the weekend. FiveThirtyEight currently gives Romney a 55.5% chance of victory here, up by 0.7% from Friday.

In NORTH CAROLINA, with 15 electoral votes, Romney's lead fell this morning to 3.0%, down from 3.8% over the weekend. FiveThirtyEight currently gives Romney a 77.2% chance of victory here, down 2.2% from Friday.

So...

In order for Obama to win re-election the least complex route would be through maintaining his existing leads in the five toss-up states where his current margins are widest (Wisconsin at 4.2%, Pennsylvania at 3.9%, Michigan at 3.8%, Iowa at 3.0%, and Ohio at 3.0%. Doing so would bring his electoral vote total on Election Day to 271. In this scenario, Obama could still surpass 270 while failing to hold Nevada, New Hampshire, Colorado, and Virginia.

However, should Obama fail to hold the strategic prize of a hotly-contested Ohio, the loss could effectively be neutralized by any of the following combination of wins from states where FiveThirtyEight is currently forecasting Obama victories:

Path #1: Obama loses Ohio but holds three of his remaining four toss-up states where his current leads are greatest, Nevada, New Hampshire, and Colorado resulting in 272 electoral votes.

Path #2: Obama loses Ohio but wins Virginia while also taking only one state from among Nevada, New Hampshire, or Colorado resulting in 272, 270, or 275 electoral votes, respectively.

----------------------------------------------------------

For Romney to unseat Obama, he not only would have to hold the two states in which he presently leads, North Carolina and Florida, bringing his electoral vote total to 235, but also steal victories in one of the two following possible combinations from states currently leaning Obama, listed in descending order of likelihood based on the reversed engineering of current FiveThirtyEight numbers for election night chances of victory:

Path A: Romney retakes Virginia and steals both Ohio and Colorado resulting in 275 electoral votes (least unlikely outcome).

Path B: Romney retakes Virginia and steals both Ohio and New Hampshire resulting in 270 electoral votes (more unlikely outcome).

Working against these two scenarios are rising averaged polling numbers over the past two days for Obama in Ohio and New Hampshire; however, in that same seventy-two hour period Romney succeeded in reducing Obama's lead in Colorado.

In any event, should Romney retake Virginia but fail to steal Ohio he could overcome this shortfall by capturing the four other states in which Obama's current leads are smallest (Colorado at 0.6%, New Hampshire at 1.7%,
Nevada at 2.8%, and Iowa at 3.0%) resulting in an electoral vote total of 273.

--------------------------------------------------------

FiveThirtyEight this morning estimates the chance of Election Day victory for each candidate as follows: Obama 86.3% (up significantly from Friday morning's 80.9%) and Romney 13.7% (down by a similar margin from Friday's 19.1%).

FiveThirtyEight now also projects that on Election Day the final electoral tally will be as follows: Obama 307 (up 8 from Wednesday's 299) and Romney 231 (down 8 from Wednesday's 239).

Lastly, although it makes no difference in terms of the final result which can only be determined by the Electoral College, FiveThirtyEight currently predicts a national popular vote distribution on Election Day as follows: Obama 50.6% (up from Thursday's 50.4%) and Romney 48.5% (down from Thursday's 48.6%).

--------------------------------------------------------

A Few Election Day Predictions:

Expect on Tuesday a plethora of polling place horror stories from across the nation, including fistfights and resulting arrests involving Tea Party-backed poll watchers from TRUE THE VOTE, et al in multiple urban precincts throughout many if not all of the eleven toss-up states.

Expect craziness in Republican Governor Rick Scott's Florida…sheer lunacy, in fact. Perhaps the National Guard should be charged with running elections in Florida going forward.

Expect unwillingness on the part of the Republican Secretary of State in Ohio, Jon Husted, to call the election in his state in a timely manner.

Expect a mandatory recount in Colorado if the margin of victory falls below 1.0%, bearing in mind that the Republican Secretary of State in Colorado, Scott Gessler, is a doppelganger for Ohio's Jon Husted.

Expect Paul Ryan to retain his congressional seat in Wisconsin as a majority of voters in his district cast ballots against him at the national level while voting in support of him at the local level…perhaps as a form of contrition.

Expect FOXNEWS to be clamoring for congressional investigations into Democrat voter fraud, less real than imagined, even before the polls close.

Expect Right Wing talk radio to begin fomenting, if not actually inciting, popular 'resistance' to the certification of the legitimate Electoral College outcome, and we all know what THAT is code for, while condemning the continued use of the Electoral College itself.

In spite of these obstacles, Obama wins the White House with an electoral vote tally of 303 to Romney's 235, takingColorado and Virginia but failing to steal Florida which had already been stolen for Romney by Rick Scott.

All legal challenges to the certification of the election in federal courts are summarily dismissed with prejudice and Barack Hussein Obama is sworn in for his second term as President of the United States on January 20, 2013.

The very next day, and with no fanfare or publicity, the lights come on in Hillary Clinton's 2016 presidential campaign headquarters.

Well,,lets see..so far Romney has said he wants to do away with FEMA...and cut huge funds from other programs that he does not do away with completely. I have to wonder what NJ's voters think of that since many will be reling on FEMA to help NJ get over the past storm. Also kets consider..what happens then to any state that has a another storm..or huge amount of damage to deal with of a natual nature..do we write them all off..? Romney seems to think we can...and he will if given that chance....social security will change..big time...so will medicare and medicaid....what about education of our kids..Romney has already said that too would be cut. Help for kids wanting to go to college..forget that..that too gets cut..I can hardly wait...Romney and Bain sent jobs to china..wonder how many more he will send if elected...after all..he makes money from those sold out jobs.

The funny thing is, at this point, the politicians are just talking to the people who will already vote for them, mostly.

They may find the 1 or 2 truly undecided voters coming to these last day rallies, but for the most part it is just to get enthusiasm up for the last day. The people who see the candidates might get inspired to knock on one more door or make one more telephone call to get that one more vote. If 10,000 people see the candidate at an airport and each of them gets one or two more voters to go out and vote for their candidate, then that is 10,000 or 20,000 votes they might not have gotten otherwise.

I went to see one of the candidates many years ago. It is really neat to shake hands with the person who might be President of the United States. A true "brush with greatness."

MYTH Romney is toast.

Bottom line: Obama's hand has been out-streched, but Republicans have refused to cooperate for fear that doing so would help the economy and Obama.

Americans are more confident of the economy than at any time since October 2007.

Stock prices are higher than any time since a year before Obama took office, and have risen 2.5 times faster than under Reagan.

Obama has added 5.4 million jobs in spite of Tea-Party stone-walling of all significant jobs bills. This is faster than Reagan & Bush added jobs.

Half a million workers were optimistic enough to start looking for work again in October. They found 410,000 jobs (this counts farm and non-payroll jobs) -- more than twice the number of new payroll jobs. But so many new workers pushed the unemployment rate up by 0.1% to 7.9%. (Down from 10% at the end of Bush's last budget year.)

Of course, you'll remember these guys were the ones that had Romney ahead by 7 points last week!

Nothing like trying to be at least "within the margin" when they are wrong on Tuesday!

Who cares what the liberals at Princeton are saying? Who cares what anyone using 2008 demographics to make their "predictions" have to say? It's politicking for Obama is all.

The liberals at Gallup are saying the Republican turnout will be +3. Ohio, New Hampshire, Virginia, Florida, and Pennsylvania will be Romney's. Maybe Wisconsin and Minnesota.

The liberals at the University of Colorado who have picked the winning candidate since 1980 are picking Romney in a landslide.

Independents are leaning Romney by 24 points.

Stick a fork in Obama....he's done.

The 2010 revolution continues. Don't be surprised if the senate turns.

    #1.41 - Mon Nov 5, 2012 5:45 PM EST

Simple Theory: I have heard that Romney 1 point behind in National Polls but he has no path to 270 without having to sweep several states, all of which are already polling in Obama's favor.

Just to put it plainly, there is no practical reason to vote for Romney, and even Fox News AND Carl Rove projected Obama will be the winner.

I've heard that too. But, my point is Romney is far more popular than what is reflected by the pollsters and Obama is far more unpopular than advertised. Karl Rove just said over the weekend that Romney will win with 279 electoral vote. Maybe you're not really paying attention. I gather that's why you are posting nonsense.

Our President said that he would bring the nation together. That did not work.

Our President said that he could work with the opposition party by reaching across the isle. That did not work.

Our President said that his administration would be free from lobbyists. That did not work.

Our President said that his administration would be the most transparent ever. That did not work.

Our President said that he would fix the economy within three years. That did not work.

Our President said that his health care bill would lower health care costs. That did not work.

Our President said that he would not raise taxes on 95% of Americans in any way. That did not work.

Our President said that his stimulus spending bill would solve our employment problem. That did not work.

Our President said that he would cut the deficit in half by the end of his first term. That did not work.

Our President has provided an economic "plan" for the next 4 years that is mathematically impossible. That cannot work.

I see a pattern here. Our President said that if he could not fix the economy within three year that he did not deserve a second term.

For any who haven't heard the news, and for others who doubt the veracity of the story revealing Citizen Romney's "charitable soul" vis-a-vis his use of a CRUT to skim money from his own "charitable donation" to his church, here's the citation to the business organization that broke the story.

      http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2012-10-29/romney-avoids-taxes-via-loophole-cutting-mormon-donations.html

      Character counts in a president.

How can anyone, let alone a nation, trust Citizen Romney when he steals from his own church via a trust, under the guise of being a "compassionate conservative"?

how many times have i called you stupid Mark? I dont agree with you but i dont belittle you and many others that i dont necessarily agree with. There is a difference between the Imperium and King. Caesar was never Rex, he was Imperator. As for centrist I would say I am probably closer to that than most. While you see my disdain (not hatred) for Obama as being non centrist, wonder if you would view me in a different light if i agreed with your view? I bet i would be a non-hypocritical centrist then eh?

Ryan's barn burning event was apparently between meetings of his staff and advisors about whether he is going to resign his congressional seat and teach at a University for a couple of years before launching his presidential bid in 2016, so he doesn't have any more votes his opponents can hold over his head between now and then.

Ryan is about as capable of being president as Rick Perry. Something about when you hold these tea partiers up to the light they don't look so good. Mitt the twit was just the last man standing.

Romney is such a lying sack of sh!t that he couldn't even release his tax returns for the voting public to vet to see if he is telling the truth. Mitt has told more openly provable lies that any candidate in history and republicans think we should just trust him.

Romney opposed the auto bailout.....Ryan voted for it.

Romney claims contraceptives are not at risk, and (supposedly) supports an exception for Abortion in the cases of rape, incest, or riskof mother's health.....Ryan co-sponsored 'Personhood' legislation outlawing all abortions and some form of contraceptives.

Romney want to put the $700 billion 'back' into Medicare....Ryan included the savings in his 'marvelous' budget.

Romney trots Ryan out early in an attempt to shore up his base, then hides him from the swing states so he can appear to be moderate....

          Quite a pair......

That was just further proof that the man believes that brutal rape is a "method of conception". If it is, Lyin Ryan, then why do we even bother to send rapists to jail? Shouldn't we be holding "barn burners" praising their efforts to further populate the country? You, Lyin Ryan, are a disgrace to men, and an evilness to ALL women.

You really think he'd have the stones to stick to his position of exceptions if those exceptions were not in legislation? The man is like water...he'll flow anyway theres a path of least resistance.

Republicans want women to vote for the new republican family plan.

In that plan a man finds a woman he wants to have children with, he rapes her, and the republicans force her to carry the child to term and most states allow visitation for the rapist father.

Yes, that is the America that republicans dream of.

As a woman if you don't like that plan, then you have better vote for a democrat.

It's kind of funny watching RCP screw around and quickly drop polls from their national polling average this hour to try to keep Romney within striking distance after he dropped most of his lead from that outlying Gallup tracking poll from last week, now that it finally updated again.

Let me help you with some math. When a poll shows Obama up by 2 points, and the poll favors democrats by 8%, what you actually have is Romney ahead by 6%. See 8-2=6.

It's tricky, but if you look close at those polls, you will see that the bias towards democrats is almost always above the margin of victory for Obama. Start thinking for yourself and you'll do better.

              #9.1 - Mon Nov 5, 2012 2:32 PM EST

That isn't what I was talking about. I was talking about RCP manipulating their own methods of calculating a lead in order for Obama's lead not to balloon to double what it was in an hour after Gallup updated.

If you sincerely want to hang all of your electoral hopes on the notion that every single polling institution has a statistical bias in the favor of the president, then more power to you.

But here's a hint, just in case it didn't occur to you: If all of the polls were actually +8-11 Democrat like you guys claim, then Romney's victory would be historic. He would be challenging Reagan's landslide in 1984 for most electoral vote. And even your favored pollster Rasmussen is not claiming anything like that.

So are you just saying Rasmussen now is just full of it too?

...sounds like the Rush Limbaugh spiel. Polls that show Romney ahead by a margin are accurate. Ones that don't are flawed due to oversampling Democrats or whatever so Romney is clearly ahead in every pole.

And on Wednesday morning, they'll be talking about the voting tallies the same way so even though Obama got more popular and electoral votes, after you adjust for voting irregularities, especially by non-whites and other un-Americans, Romney would have won. That will be the Wednesday tag line on talk radio. "Democrats steal election"

I wonder too how it could be neck and neck. All I can figure is that the republicans love to be lied to.

Bush lied the country to a war in Iraq where over 4000 Americans died and no republican complained.

Bush led our country to the largest deficit in our history and no republican complained.

While these same republicans can't bring themselves to blame bush for the recession and debt, they have no problem blaming President Obama who wasn't even elected yet.

But to have President Obama save us from the bush recession, the republicans are frothing at the mouth about how he failed.

But to have President Obama end the lied to war by the republicans, once again a failure in the republicans eyes.

I guess you have to destroy the economy and lie and start two wars like bush to be a success in the republicans eyes. And that is what Romney promises the return to the bush policies of success.

Mitt Romney has the wealthy vote, (but not all), the far right vote, the low info vote, and lastly, the hardest bloc to overcome , he has 100% of the racial bias vote. The media has a "gag" order on this last group, so it seems. This is a repeat of 2008.

Romney is going to get the country back on track? Over 5 million jobs created, repeal of DADT, health care, unemployment finally back down after the Bush debacle, Bin Laden gone, Libya cleared with zero military casualties, out of Iraq, almost out of A'stan, housing prices climbing, foreclosures leveling out? Seems we're on the right track now, not the siding that Romney wants to shunt the middle class to.

You really think this is back on track? This is what 4 years of work should have produced? Do you understand crippling national deficits? Do you see the unemployment rate where it should be?

And give credit where credit is due. The military plans and the taxes that we may have enjoyed these last four years were simply extensions of policies Bush put in place!

Do the republicans remember who voted to created the deficit? Remember it was Ryan the republicans VP choice.

The bush tax cuts you are so proud of are at least a third of our deficit and then you want to blame President Obama for the deficit.

Speaking of unemployment do tell me which party has voted against jobs, even for our returning veterans and you will know the truth who is against jobs.

Look at the republicans openly hating Christy because he had the nerve to work with the president for the good of his people, then you want to pretend the republican obstruction has all been President Obama's fault.

Grow up, I for one am sick of republicans repeating lies.

How many women trust Romney? I don't.

Why would any woman who can think for herself want the government like in China or Iran in charge of her body?

The right track for a republican is where the rich rape and pillage our great country for more tax cuts for the rich.

You really don't think that all Romney's rich campaign donors are telling you republican lies for your own good. Romney has hired most of the bush staff and promises to return to the bush policies that broke our economy in the first place.

Romney has promised the rich tax cuts to replace all the money they spent on the campaign. Ryan has promised to make medicare into a voucher system that only the well off can afford.

If you loved the bush recession, your going to love bushIII/Romney depression. Because that is the only track the republican plan on getting back on. Just like bush, Romney will drive America into a recession to pay for more wars and more tax cuts for the rich.

Name calling, blaming Bush, vilifying rich people, making up lies about taxes - pretty much a straight repeat of any of Obama's speeches. Way to think for yourself people!

It makes me sad that all you guys can do is parrot what you hear through the liberal media. You're like little lemmings all following Obama off a cliff.

Name calling? You tell me who was president during the economic crash? Are you trying to tell me Ryan didn't vote for the tax cuts and wars that created the deficit?

Making up lies about taxes, you research the amount of the debt is the tax cuts and get back to me.

What liberal media? That was a lie made up for the conservatives. They knew that the truth was going to come out more and more so the lie of the liberal media was born. So now when you hear the truth about a republican candidate, you can just claim it was the liberal media lie.

I know you can't be very bright and fall for the republicans lies and that is what they are counting on.

$6bn spent on 18 electoral votes for 4 years of bitter legislative paralysis - why would anyone hold the US up to be a beacon of democracy. Like Brad Pitt says in 'Killing them softly' - "America isn't a country its a business now f****** pay up". Before any red or blue starts lecturing the rest of the world about freedom and democracy take a long hard look at yourself. Every empire rots from within and the rot is well established both in congress and in the country at large. If you can't live side by side with each other and make the necessary compromises life demands you to make it's a long downward spiral. Putting men on the moon, changing the face of popular entertainment, technological advances in every scientific filed, making big brave and bold plans to counter big challenges and problems will be a thing of the past if those you elect live in the past.

That's good cuz they only offer up garbage and lies. I just hope that after tomorrow, they just f..king disappear. It would be nice to talk to decent people instead of the white trash republican trolls that have infiltrated all the decent comment sections. Now that the election is over tomorrow, I hope fox opens up it's comment section again. They seem to like these kinds of people.

I'm sorry you cannot create a reasoned response to a simple request for some sanity in this crazy country we seem to live in now. Please take a chill pill and try again when you have calmed down and your blood pressure has dropped below 200.

I rather enjoyed Overseez comment. However, we are already on that long downward spiral and something as simple as a presidential and congressional election will not pull us out of it. We need a national reform in "gimmee" attitudes and get back to a future where people who are willing to work hard and study and overachieve can actually get ahead instead of being pulled back down into the mediocrity of the masses. Those are the attributes that took us to the moon and beyond, not "levelling the playing field" by dumbing down everything to the point that a first grader is no longer challenged.

Take your pick: high achievement vs dumbing down, pulling yourself up vs permanent dependence, etc, etc. I guess we'll see what the majority of us want by Wednesday, or maybe Thursday, or maybe in a month or so.

Think real hard about when Clinton wanted to go after Bin Laden and what was happening in our country. If you remember when Clinton warned about OBL, the republicans were deep into trying to impeach Clinton for having an affair. When he brought up OBL, the republicans started howling wag the dog that Clinton was trying to change the subject away from the republican witch hunt.

You remember it don't you, you know the one where he thought no one was recording anything and he could say how he really feels? I heard that you can easily explain those comments right? Please do, because all of us undecided voters have heard it and don't understand why he would say that in private and then come out and say he supports 100% of the people a couple days later! Which one is it? Do we get to decide which Romney we get if he wins?
