All about turnout and racial composition… National NBC/WSJ poll: Late momentum appears to favor Obama… Shades of 2004?... Romney up with independents, ahead on economy… But is the undecided vote breaking in Obama’s direction?... NBC/WSJ/Marist poll of VA: Obama 48%, Romney 47% -- same as our national poll… Closing time: Obama (in WI, OH, IA) and Romney (FL, VA, OH, NH) spend their final day on the trail in the states they HAVE to win… And welcome Kate Montanaro!
*** All about turnout -- and racial composition: Our final national NBC/WSJ poll has it Obama 48%, Romney 47% among likely voters. If anything is likely to decide this very close presidential contest, it probably comes down to turnout (duh!), as well as the racial composition of the electorate. Since the campaign began, Team Obama has assumed that whites would make up 72% of voters, down from 74% in 2008. (The logic: This percentage has decreased in every U.S. election, and the minority population continues to grow.) On the other hand, Republicans counter that due to greater GOP enthusiasm, the white percentage could very well stay the same as in 2008 -- or even be a tick higher. And according to our NBC/WSJ pollsters, the final outcome here could sway the election. If you assume that both sides maximize their margins (Romney wins whites by 20 percentage points and Obama wins minority voters by 60 percentage points), whites making up 75% of the electorate would give Romney the edge with the popular vote by a fraction of a point. But if the white percentage is 74%, Obama would win the popular vote by a fraction of a point. And if it’s 73%, Obama wins by one point. Bottom line: Watch the white percentage in tomorrow night’s exit polls; it will tell you more about where Virginia or Iowa or Colorado or Wisconsin will go.
With polls showing a neck-and-neck presidential race, NBC's Chuck Todd runs through some potential paths to presidential victory, including how it might go if President Obama won the Electoral College vote and Governor Romney won the popular vote.
*** Late momentum appears to favor Obama: The national NBC/WSJ poll provides good news for both Obama and Romney. For Obama, the past couple of weeks have been kind to the president: 41% of likely voters say that what they have read, heard, and seen over the past couple of weeks have given them a more favorable impression of Obama, compared to 40% who said it had given them a less favorable impression -- which is up from his 38%-43% score on this question two weeks ago. Part of that more favorable impression is due to his handling of Hurricane Sandy, of which 67% of likely voters approve. By comparison, 45% of voters say they have a less favorable impression of Romney from what they have read, heard and seen over the past couple of weeks, versus 40% who have a more favorable view. But two weeks ago -- fresh off his debate performances -- Romney’s score here was tied, 44% more favorable, and 44% less favorable. So if there’s been a bump, it’s been in Obama’s direction. The caveat for Team Obama: Al Gore in 2000 and Gerald Ford in 1976 had the momentum in the closing days, and they ended up losing (both were representing the incumbent party).

Keith Srakocic / AP
*** But is this 1976 or 2004?: In other good news for Obama, his numbers in this national poll look almost identical to George W. Bush’s in the final NBC/WSJ survey before the 2004 presidential election, which Bush ended up winning 51%-48%. Obama’s approval rating among likely voters stands at 49 percent -- exactly matching Bush’s 49% approval in the final ’04 NBC/WSJ poll. What’s more, 42% say the country is headed in the right direction, versus 41% who said the same thing in late Oct. 2004. And the head-to-head score between Obama and Romney -- 48% to 47% -- is identical to what it was in the final NBC/WSJ poll before the 2004 election: Bush 48%, Democrat John Kerry 47%.
*** Romney up with independents, on economy: The good news for Romney in this national poll is that 53% of likely voters are comfortable with the idea of him as president, which ties Obama’s percentage on this question (although 39% are “very comfortable” with Obama versus 26% who are “very comfortable” with Romney). Also, Romney is ahead of Obama among independents, 47% to 40%. And the former Massachusetts governor leads Obama by five points on which candidate is better prepared to create jobs and grow the economy, 47%-42%. However, a majority of voters -- 52% -- say the economy is recovering.
*** Undecided vote breaking in Obama’s direction? Here’s one last point we want to make about our national poll: The survey found that 9% of the likely voters are up for grabs (meaning they’re undecided or just leaning to a candidate), and these folks have more positive feelings toward Obama than Romney. Obama’s job approval with them is 48% approve, 41% disapprove. What’s more, Obama’s fav/unfav with them is 46%/29%, vs. Romney’s upside down 22%-49%. Bottom line: Our pollsters see more of an opportunity for Obama among these voters and more of an uphill climb for Romney.
*** Breaking down the NBC/WSJ/Marist Virginia poll: Meanwhile, our final NBC/WSJ/Marist state poll before the election shows the race extremely close in Virginia, which makes sense since Virginia most closely mirrored the national popular vote in 2008. Our Virginia numbers are identical to our national numbers, where Obama gets support from 48% of likely voters and Romney gets 47%. The other findings pretty much mirror what our other state polls have shown: Obama’s approval rating (48%) matches his ballot percentage (48%); Romney has a slight lead on which candidate would better handle the economy; and a whopping 71% approve of Obama’s handling of Hurricane Sandy. But the Virginia survey has a narrower gender gap than elsewhere – Obama wins women by six points, 51%-45%, and Romney is up by five with men, 50%-45%. And in the Senate contest, Tim Kaine (D) leads George Allen (R) by three points among likely voters, 49%-46%.
*** Closing time: One striking thing about today is that both Obama and Romney are in states they HAVE to win rather than WANT to win. Obama is in Wisconsin, Ohio, and Iowa -- the firewall states. And Romney hits Florida, Virginia, Ohio, and New Hampshire. Yesterday was about luxury (Obama in Florida, Romney in Pennsylvania); today is about necessity. By the way, as NBC’s Justin Kirschner observes, both Obama and Romney will conclude their 2012 campaigns where it all began for them. For Obama, his final rally is in Iowa the state that launched his 2012 presidential bid. And for Romney, his last rally will be in New Hampshire, where he launched his 2012 campaign and where he owns a home.
*** Final ad-spending numbers in the battleground states by all the campaigns and outside groups: OH: $189 million; FL: $185 million; VA: $146 million; CO: $79 million; IA: $72 million; NC: $69 million; NV: $56 million; WI: $40 million; NH: $40 million; PA: $22 million.
*** On the trail: The final day of campaigning: Obama campaigns in Madison, WI at 11:45 am ET (with Bruce Springsteen), in Columbus, OH at 2:25 pm ET (with Springsteen and Jay-Z), and in Des Moines, IA at 10:30 pm ET (with Springsteen and wife Michelle)…. Romney holds rallies in Sanford, FL at 9:00 am ET, Lynchburg, VA at 12:35 pm ET, Fairfax, VA at 2:45 pm ET, Columbus, OH at 6:25 pm, and Manchester, NH at 11:00 pm ET (with wife Ann)… Biden stumps in Virginia… Ryan hits Nevada, Colorado, Ohio, and Wisconsin… And Michelle Obama makes stops in North Carolina and Florida.
*** And welcome Kate Montanaro! Congratulations to Domenico and Beth Montanaro on the birth of their baby daughter, Katherine Elizabeth Montanaro. Kate was born yesterday on Nov 4 -- two days from Election Day! -- and she checked in at 7 pounds, 2 ounces and 19.25 inches. Mom, dad, Jack, and Kate are all doing well.

Anyone with an ounce of common sense has to ask themselves WHY Republican governors & secretary of states are making it MORE arduous for YOU to exercise your right to VOTE?
Why should someone have to stand in lines for hours in the year 2012? What is the valid excuse for not extending polling hours?
America, don't be deterred by these tactics, a handful of billionaires are under the mistaken
impression they have enough money to BUY the election but they can't take away your right to VOTE!
Get out and VOTE!
Let's show them OUR democracy is NOT for SALE!!!
Didn't we have enough "cheating" in 2000 & 2004 to last us a lifetime?
President Obama is the one man in this race who is looking out for women.
President Obama stands up for a woman's right to look after her own affairs, and he defends her right to personal and family health care choices. Those are not decisions for politicians, particulary extremists like Paul Ryan, Todd Akin, Mourdoch, or Mitt Romney.
RomneyRyan have the best healthcare for their own families. It doesn't take much to know that ending healthcare possibilities and cutting safety nets, would end in horrible tragedy for the "47%". These two wealthy men who preach family values, are ready and willing to send the rest of us down that cruel road.
Romney would "get rid" of Planned Parenthood. And by "killing" the Affordable Care Act, Romney would end preventative services such a as mammograms and contraception without charge, deny a woman's right to space her children, voucherize Medicare, drastically cut Medicaid - leaving us nowhere to turn when we or our children get sick, and outpricing seniors from staying in nursing homes. Romney would repeal Roe versus Wade and take us back to the 1950's. Our President signed the Lily Ledbetter Act as soon as he came into office, but Mitt Romney has not sided with women on equal pay.
Our President has a deep respect for women, and he is always kind and true. This President is looking out for EVERYONE in this country, and he has stood firm in the relentlessly chaotic, anti-democratic and destructive winds blowing from the corporate right wing.
For the past several months we have been witness to the most extraordinary display of subterfuge by a presidential candidate in recent history. Republican candidate, Mitt Romney, has morphed, shifted, and changed “colors” so often, it defies description. Who is this man? What does he really believe? How would he govern? Tough questions to try to answer, especially when Romney’s own words quite frequently belied his own words!
The fact is no one can possibly know who Mitt Romney is or what he would do as President. Indeed, if there is a real Mitt Romney, one who has values and conviction, he never stood up and he never took a stand throughout this campaign. Not once. As a citizen of the United States, you deserve to know WHO it is you are being asked to vote for. You deserve to know what his position is on any given issue. Mitt Romney has short changed the American citizen. It’s time to return the favor in kind.
“I will not raise taxes on the middle class, not even one dime.”
-Barry Obama
Yes, I do remember him saying that.
So, imagine my surprise when I learned over the weekend that his ClunkerCare HCR law does just that:
RAISES TAXES ON THE MIDDLE CLASS!!!!
I was online filling out the 2013 forms for my favorite middle class tax loophole, the Flexible Spending Account. This middle class tax loophole allows people to put away tax free salary to cover medical expenses like deductibles, co-insurance, copays, dental costs and vision costs like glasses and eye exams. Prior to enacting ClunkerCare there were no federal limits on the amount you could contribute, although most companies offering FSA did limit it to $5,000.
Starting 01/01/2013 ClunkerCare imposes a federal limit of $2,500 with the taxes that will now be collected on any excess medical expenses being used to fund ClunkerCare.
So, let’s look at how a single parent with two children gets screwed by this Obama middle class tax increase: If she was putting $5,000 into an FSA in 2012 to cover her unreimbursed medical costs and dental costs for braces and glasses for her children, she will end up paying taxes on the $2,500 excess in 2013. Using Dr. Ron’s average 25% federal middle class tax rate and adding my NY state income tax rate of 6.85% (at $30,000 taxable income) and adding 7.65% for SS and Medicare, she will pay a combing tax rate of 39.5% as a result of Barry’s middle class tax increase.
On $2,500 that will cost her nearly $1,000 in additional taxes in 2013 and every year after that!!!!
That’s about 10,000 dimes of new middle class taxes. Thanks a lot, Barry, you lying sack of sh!t.

From the NY Times:

Obama Renews Vow of No Middle-Class Tax Increase
By PETER BAKER
WASHINGTON — The White House tried Monday to douse speculation that it might raise taxes on the middle class in violation of President Obama’s campaign promise, just a day after two of his top economic advisers left the door open to such a move to rein in spiraling deficits.
Mr. Obama told his economic team in a meeting at the White House that he intended to stand by his promise not to increase taxes on families making less than $250,000, aides said. He then sent his spokesman out to repeat that message in front of the television cameras.
“The president made a commitment in the campaign. He’s clear about that commitment, and he’s going to keep it,” said Robert Gibbs, the White House press secretary.
Lessons:
Tomorrow night the 2012 election will end and Mitt Romney will lose. Already I've heard misguided Republicans give the excuse that the loss will be due to Hurricane Sandy and Chris Christie's acknowledgement that President Obama is doing an outstanding job. The real reasons Mitt Romney will lose are important to understand.
1.The Romney/Ryan team ignored seniors when they shouted, "Don't mess with my Medicare!" Healthcare is very important to seniors and they don't want a coupon system run by private companies.
2.Stop trying to control women. Women deserve equal pay for equal work. It is an economic issue that impacts their quality of life, their benefits, and their future pension. Also, women don't like the notion that old white men in Washington D.C. want to pass laws that affect their reproductive rights. It's not a good idea to make women angry and come election time they will come out and vote against you.
3.Stop catering to the flat earth society, aka the Tea Party. If the GOP wants to win elections it must move back into the mainstream of American politics. In fact, the Republican Party did have a candidate who could have beaten President Obama. His name is Jon Huntsman.
4.Stop putting party first and being obstructionists. Put America first by supporting jobs bills, infrastructure bills, veteran's benefits, and science and education bills. Events are happening too fast and for America to be competitive, we must move forward. Americans will notice when Republicans begin to compromise and you will be rewarded for your cooperation.
5.Establish a humane immigration plan that gives people from other countries a path to citizenship. The country is becoming more brown in color and to ignore this demographic will cost the GOP for years to come.
Some of the above lessons originate from a Democratic philosophy, but that is the point. The Democrats are winning because their positions are on the right side of history.
I suspect that Republicans will have an identity crisis and will have to work through the issues of who they are. The extreme right wing of the party is now in control and they have no interest in relinquishing that power. Without change in core values, they party of Lincoln will lose again in 2014.
How often has this happened to me. I’ll be watching something on tv, or quietly reading a book and tears fill my eyes. Usually it’s because I’m reading something about racism or the holocaust.
Today’s Republican Party is dead set on keeping racism and voter suppression alive. We are all seeing the photos and video.
And then last night.
Watching Rachel Maddow, she looked into the camera and told those voters in FLA and Ohio – please, we know it’s a huge inconvenience to you, but please – for the nation – stay in line and make sure you vote.
Breaks our heart that we’ve come to this. Yet again.
All the doing of the Republican Party.
For the sake of our democracy, please please vote.
The Case Against Obama
Many folks could write a book on this topic, but I'll focus on three big ideas: Obama's approach to economic policy, health care reform and his philosophy of governance. And being the fair and balanced kind of guy I am, tomorrow I'll make the case FOR Mitt Romney.
First, as we've been reminded over and over during this campaign economic issues are at the forefront of this election. No one disputes that Obama was dealt a bad economic hand the day he took office, in fact he was hired in large part to fix the problem. But not only has he not fixed the problem, he has failed miserably. Economic growth this year is lower than it was last year, and last year growth was lower than the year before. Incomes have fallen during his watch, while the number of folks living in poverty and on food stamps has soared. Unemployment (especially among women, minorities and the young) has been so high for so long that the president was actually forced to cheer numbers that dipped slightly below 8% recently. But as anyone with a pulse will tell you, unemployment at that level is nothing to cheer about. In fact, there's nothing to cheer about in any of the metrics I just mentioned.
The president's signature response to the economy he inherited was a massive fiscal stimulus program financed by borrowed dollars. That stimulus had the effect of artificially goosing GDP numbers for a few quarters, but did nothing to put the country back onto the path of sustainable economic growth – like I said, growth today is lower than it was two years ago. So on the merits there can absolutely no dispute on this basic point – the president's policies have not produced the strong economic rebound and robust job growth that has historically followed deep economic downturns in our past. And what is the president's prescription for going forward? Well, it's more of the same policies that have already failed. So if you want to get a glimpse into what the next four years will be like, just take a look back at the last four years. And America simply cannot afford another four years like that.
Second, even in the face of the economic situation he inherited Obama chose to devote significant time and political capital during his first two years to pass a version of health care reform that a majority of Americans said (and continue to say) they did not want. Many might agree that our health care system could be improved by appropriate reforms that address issues like spiraling costs and access to care. But legions would disagree that the best way to accomplish those goals was for massive intervention by the government into the health care economy – to include an unprecedented individual mandate that forces folks to buy something they may not want, and an employer mandate that creates impediments to job creation.
That's bad enough, but many may have forgotten the sleazy procedural approach Obama and his Democratic pals in Congress had to use in order to pass health care reform. The challenging circumstances surrounding passage of Obamacare after Scott Brown was elected to the Senate forced the Democrats to use obscure legislative tactics and cut all manner of deals to ensure they had enough votes to pass the most sweeping social legislation since the LBJ years. That heavy handed and entirely partisan approach to ramming health care reform down our throats defined Obama and his party as the embodiment of the liberal 'Washington knows best, big government' mindset that is viewed with so much disdain throughout the country. And all of this played out against the backdrop of an economy that remained stubbornly in low growth mode. So what Obama essentially did was push the congressional envelope to pass a costly new entitlement at precisely the point in our fiscal history when we can least afford it -- instead of devoting his energies to getting the economy moving again. And on those grounds alone this president deserves to be fired.
Which leads directly to my last point, Obama's philosophy of governance. I've never been one to call Obama a socialist since I don't see him using government on a large scale to confiscate our property or the means of production any time soon. But anyone who doesn't recognize that this man has deep socialistic tendencies that inform his approach to governance must be living under a rock. Pick an issue, any issue, and Obama's policy response of choice is for government to intervene and affect outcomes. We saw it in his approach to health care reform as well as in financial reform. And we almost saw it in a cap and tax energy policy that mercifully didn't make its way out of the Senate.
But the perspective Obama brings to governing is actually even broader than those particular issues. The unforgiving world in which we live produces unequal economic outcomes among its citizens. In the president's view, it's just not fair that success in America is experienced largely by those who did what they had to do to be all they can be. So, diverse economic outcomes need to be normalized by spreading the wealth more evenly. Thus a benevolent government is obliged to intervene yet again and force its more successful citizens to redistribute their hard earned gains to their less accomplished brethren. In this more forgiving world, Obama would have folks demand their "fair share" and expect to get it.
This perspective is at the core of the president's approach to tax policy. It doesn't matter that the U.S. already has one of the most progressive tax systems in the world where the top 10% of earners pay 70% of federal income taxes. What matters is the deeply socialistic drive to mitigate the vicissitudes of life by taking resources away from those who have them and giving them away to folks who don't. America has historically rejected that view and instead has celebrated self-reliance and individual initiative as the pathway to achievement and success. But under Obama's leadership those bedrock American values are morphing from honorable virtues into inhumane vices. This is precisely the concept underlying the governing approach the Europeans have taken for years, an approach that has brought many of those countries to the brink of fiscal collapse – and an approach that has put America on exactly same course.
That's the case against Obama in a nutshell, and by any objective standard it's a very strong case. So if you feel that the quality of your life and the future of your country depend on your vote tomorrow, then vote Republican. Because the alternative is leading us to an America you won't recognize in a few more years.
President Obama puts his faith in the American worker:
Building better cars - that will go twice as far on a gallon of gas.
Clean energy manufacturing of the future, the energy jobs of tomorrow, and cutting oil imports in half.
Change is the next generation of manufacturing - clean energy, wind turbines, solar panels, batteries.
Under President Obama, after never-ending years of war, we can finally do some nationbuilding on our own turf.
We can use the money we've sunk into wars, to pay down debt and rebuild America, - broadband lines, roads, bridges, making our schools fit for the 21st century.
The President and First Lady are taking care of vets like none before them.
President Obama will reduce deficit in a balanced, responsible way, and not do it on the backs of ordinary Americans.
By contrast, RyanRomney will turn Medicare into a voucher, just to give top income-ers another giant tax cut.
Heartfelt congratulations to Domenico Montanaro, wife and brand new daughter Katherine Elizabeth.
Wonderful news.
So most of today's posts will be cut n paste results of polls that don't matter, the usual "No Posts by Navy/Backhouse and Feisty as they clamor to grab a spot, and a great number of conspiracy thories by the left:

It all smacks of desperation.
On Wednesday either the election will have been run on the up and up if Obama wins or will have been "stolen" if Romney wins.

Where’s NJNB, JAS1, WCA and the rest of the teleprompter brigade?

The solution to voting problems is to make election day a national holiday and do away with non-verifiable voting machines.

PLAIN AND SIMPLE!
Romney pays no taxes for 13 years. This man doesn't need to be President, he needs to be in jail. Not withstanding the fact that it's a "LEGAL TRUST" I just not "American". How can anyone vote for this lying slim ball. No wonder McCain didn't select him as VP, he saw his tax returns.
Oh, by the way, put the Govenor of Florida in jail too for violation of the US Constitution.
PRESIDENT OBAMA FOR 4 MORE YEARS TOMORROW.
Two-term President Barack Obama
From the article above:
Over the last three weeks, President Obama has made up all the ground he lost from the Denver debate, and now leads comfortably in all the polls including nationally.
The last three weeks alone should convince the MAJORITY of Americans we are MUCH better off with the leadership and poise of President Barack Obama.
The Governor, however, has seen his campaign implode and looks more and more like the Republican’s version of Michael Dukakis.
Here’s a recap of the Governor’s last three weeks of his bungled candidacy:
First: The final debate where the President waxed the Governor on foreign policy convinced the majority of Americans that we are much safer with Barack Obama at the helm.
Second: The nation saw a true leader in the President’s superb handling of the crisis before and after Hurricane Sandy and got the glowing praise from Republican Governor Christie.
Third: The endorsement from General Colin Powel and Mayor Bloomberg, both Republicans, was more proof that intelligent people know President Obama’s going to win this election.
Fourth: The Salt Lake Tribune endorsed President Obama because the great state of Utah, Mormon capitol of the world, can’t trust the lying Governor.
Fifth: The Governor’s botched photo-op at Wal-Mart in Ohio where his staff bought canned goods then GAVE them to people entering the store shocked Americans.
Sixth: The Governor’s double-down lying of the Jeep debacle convinced American’s he is a pathological liar and he simply can’t be trusted.
Seventh: The Governor isn’t even campaigning in his home state of Michigan because he will LOSE that state.
Eighth: The Governor isn’t even campaigning in Massachusetts where he was Governor because he will LOSE that state.
Ninth: The Governor’s running mate, Congressman Ryan, calls him “Stench” and the Congressman will LOSE his state of Wisconsin.
Tenth: Americans will never forget the Governor’s total distain for 47% of American’s and are reminded every day of his elitist sense of entitlement and privileged.
Simply put, the Governor is the worst candidate the GOP has had in 36 years.
President Obama will win Tuesday in a Landslide victory that can only be interpreted as a complete rejection of the Governor’s pathological lying, John Boehner’s FAILED Tea Party House of Representatives, the Tea Party’s FAILED propaganda campaign of lies against the President, as well as the Tea Party’s constant berating and reproach of Woman, Minorities, and the hard working Poor and Middle Class.

Hey JiA, we were informed of that "little" change to our FSA accounts last week.
Didn't go over to well here.
Many, many folks recognize the advantage of maximizing their FSA, even more so than their 401K. The FSA money is money they put in their pocket TODAY.
Now Obamacare has cut that in half.
Where are all the RWNJ's this morning?
Shouldn't they be here, beating their little chests telling us how Willard is going to win in a landslide?

Let's stop using euphemisms. The GOP has absolutely NO enthusiasm for Mitt Romney. What they have is a seething hatred of the president, in large part based on his race.
Amen to that, Tom.
Democrats want everybody to have a level playing field and the same rights for all! Republicans believe that rights should only be for them. And the 1%, like Mitt Romney, laughs at everybody else because 'Justice' to them means 'just us'!
Congratulations Dominico........Sweet!
That's it in a nutshell, Houston!
White Collar - It all smacks of desperation.
WCA, do you really think it is acceptable for the Florida lines to be that long? Why did the Reps. reduce early voting? Every pundit and analyist knows that the smaller the turnout the better for Republicans. It is a crime that it takes four and five hours to vote in Florida especially for the elderly. Even Charlie Crist Republican former governor thinks it is a try at voter supression. He has few kind words for uberpartisan Rick Scott.
About the election and polls and predictions, I still see Obama by a nose 285 EV. I'm happy that 538 has Obama at 85% to win with 303 EV. However, it will be close. I think that due to the hurricane, voter id laws/intimidation, voter endurance marathon events in Florida and the possibility of voting machine manipulation I am far from assured. This is not in the bag.
Perhaps you will believe I am being paranoid as well. However, IMO if Romney wins, there will have been some sort of manipulation or the year's long GOP plan at voter intimidation, supression and id laws worked. Either that or the polls were all wrong. Very unlikely that twenty or more polls showing Obama up in swing states are all wrong.
Everyone in swing states perservere in those lines and vote for President Obama.
Obama 2012 - For our future.
We need to be a "United" States of America, that represents all!
The fact that the sitting President called REVENGE against the Congress and those that voted him in, is deplorable. His message? I don't represent all citizens of the USA. THAT IS NOT LEADERSHIP! He should have taken a lesson from Christie on bipartisanship, instead, he sucker punched the party, before the lights were even on in New Jersey.
Romney/Ryan with Republican Chris Christie for a Strong America
Hey Louie Bee, I agree - Election day should be a National Holiday, this would work best for the Dem's !!!
To see NBC post a headline on their main page that reads "[m]inorities will decide the election" is a complete disgrace. The election will be decided by the counting of every vote that is cast, that is unless NBC is aware of some Democratic shenanigans to over weight the minority vote in some way. The election is not in the hands of any one group, no matter what the news media tries to tell people. Every vote is supposed to count the same in this country. Then they try and explain their headline by talking about minority voter turnout, well what about white male voter turnout. They all have the same impact on the election, the more a candidate can get his supporters to to the polls the better his chance of winning. There is no magic that makes minorities more important. What disgusts me is the ignorance of the large share of the electorate in this country. They vote for candidates because they are a particular party, not because of where they stand on issues. In some cases you even have voters who vote for candidates based solely on their race, which is an even bigger disgrace. Democracy only works when the electorate cares enough to take the time to educate themselves about candidates and issues, and I do not mean by listening to talking heads on the TV or ranting idiots on talk radio.
Chilled:
No enthusiasm? Guess you aren't watching the heart and soul of the American people. Pennsylvania is in play. Ego gets Obama no where.
Romney/Ryan for a STRONG America
Well Mark, How big a win will it take for Romney for you to not be paranoid?
5%?
10%
100 Electoral votes?
You are to smart to fall into that trap.
As for the polls being wrong, all one will have to do is compare ACTUAL voting Identities vs the poll sampling to see if they correlate. If they are both +8/9 Dem then you'll have a case.
I don't think you will.
As for the Floridians, was this weekend the first time they could vote early or absentee? I know here in Michigan we can get our ballots much earlier and mail them in.
If these folks waited until the last minute to vote, they get what they deserve.
Besides, they can always vote on Tuesday.
Houston!
The burning question is, will their hatred be strong enough to drive the Redneck Riviera to vote for a Mormon?
Discrimination.... is discrimination tolerable?
We all like to think not, but a vote for Obama is a vote to discriminate against the small business owner, discriminating against those who took chances, many times mortgaging their house to start their business.... and President Obama wants those people to PAY MORE TAXES!
Why is any form of discirmination tolerable? ANYONE?
JS:
The public isn't paying attention, to media sources anymore (the bias is so bad everywhere), the momentum is back for Mitt. Meet the Press showed the cards, Booker (great guy who I really like) merely came with talking points. BOOKER, get back to your passion, that is what we love!
Romney/Ryan with Chris Christie for a "bipartisan" USofA
Democrats buying votes, AGAIN. Todays Chicago Suntimes, Raum shaking down unions in the tone of 6 figures and one over 1 MILLION dollars. This is how Democrats try to win. Extortsion! Government Motors knows this the best. Obama paid of the unions, screwed the share holders, now wants his grease! This only costs the American taxpayer 25 BILLION, all to help Obama win. Politics the Obama way, the Chicago way, The Democratic way. SLIME!
Pennsylvania voters say, "WE LOVE ROMNEY!!!!" (Cut and paste from a post)
TWENTY-EIGHT, yes, 28, reasons why Romney has the right stuff and will win the White House and lead America back to greatness. Please, by all means, I ENCOURAGE readers to verify this all yourself using multiple, independent sources, like I did over a period of almost 5 years of reading and learning about Mitt Romney as I developed this list. Not one single statement came from a Romney website or mailer.
If you like it, please, PLEASE copy and paste it all over the internet wherever you can. America is simply too precious to not fight for....
ROMNEY:
- Graduated with “University Honors” from BYU (also known as “Highest Honors”, their most prestigious form of recognition, somewhat equivalent to valedictorian) with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English; he’s not just a numbers guy.
- Master’s degree in Business (Harvard, a B
aker's scholar: top 5% of business students).
- Master’s degree in Law (Harvard, graduated Cum Laude / with Honors, top 1/3 of his class).
- Earned both master’s degrees (business AND law) at Harvard University simultaneously (Could you do that? I couldn’t.)
- Had an incredible 80% success rate in private business and now worth between $200 and $250 million (compare this to Obama and many of Obama's closest advisers who have never had to turn a profit or go hungry, and, no, don't whine about workers Romney let go when investing in a company while at Bain Capital because you'd be forgetting to look at: A) the fact that Bain was INVITED by the companies to have Bain invest in them; there were no “hostile takeovers” by Bain Capital and B) the workers' jobs Romney saved by saving a dying company and C) the jobs he created after those struggling companies were turned around and started to grow again.
http://theweek.com/article/index/228422/4-good-things-bain-capital-did-on-mitt-romneys-watch
- Gave away his inheritance in 1998 to start / help fund the “George W. Romney Institute of Public Management” at BYU (his father, George Romney, died in 1995).
- As head of the 2002 Winter Olympics (Salt Lake City) turned a potential loss (-$379M shortfall) into one of the few profit-earning Olympic games (+$100M profit).
- Donated his entire Olympic Games salary and severance package ($1.4M) to charity.
- Put aside partisanship prejudices/trash-talk by successfully campaigning/winning the governor's seat (2003 – 2007) as a Republican in a heavily Democrat-controlled state LONG before Scott Brown.
- While governor of Massachusetts, at HIS request, served the people of MA at the salary of $1/year (that’s right, ONE DOLLAR).
- Previous executive leadership experience as a state governor, including Massachusetts' Commander In Chief of state military forces (Yes, a state governor is legally the Commander In Chief of that state's National Guard forces unless those troops are called to active-duty by the President).
- Turned Massachusetts' budget from red to black while governor (- $3.0B to +$2.16B; that’s “billion” with a “B”).
- Cut taxes 19 times as Massachusetts governor (that’s not a typo, NINETEEN).
- As MA governor, developed a plan that would make deadbeats pay for their own health care (you may not like the MA health care law but that's what it's sole purpose was. Still don't like it because of the mandate? Don't move to MA.) (BTW, how would YOU have solved the MA healthcare free-loader problem and how would you have done it with an overwhelmingly Democrat-controlled state legislature like Romney had to work with?)
- “Service over self”. Romney endorsed McCain only 2 days after ‘Super Tuesday’ in 2008 when it became obvious McCain was the clear front-runner; America is more important to him than his ego (Can you say “He’s not Newt Gingrich or Rick Santorum”?)
- Volunteer service to community as a church head pastor for 13 years all with ZERO pay (that's right, none); 5 years as a “bishop” and 8 years as a “stake president”.
- Would give ALL his Presidential salary ($1.6 Million total) back to the American taxpayers if elected (yes, he's on record as committing to this).
- Voluntarily turned down enrolling in Medicare when he turned 65 on March 12, 2012.
(in other words, he’s NOT sucking up our precious tax dollars because he knows he can, and therefore should, take care of himself).
- He also chose to NOT receive any Social Security payments upon turning 65 because, again, he knows he can take care of himself and therefore should not rely on our tax dollars to help fund his daily living.
- Looks, talks and acts "Presidential".
- Understands commitment (never divorced, in a loving 43 year marriage).
- Understands morality (never had an affair).
- Understands family (5 kids, all successful adults).
- Willing to let all of America see his birth certificate without a fight.
- Released his last 2 years of filed tax records (2010 AND 2011) proving he’s not a tax cheat; paid $1.94 million in federal income taxes in 2011giving him an effective tax rate of 14.1%. AND, the private firm which prepared Romney’s taxes from 1990 through 2009 issued a letter stating that Romney paid 100% of the federal and state income taxes owed during those 20 years. The firm also said Romney’s average annual effective federal tax rate was 20.2% for those 20 years. Satisfied?
http://money.cnn.com/2012/09/21/pf/taxes/romney-tax-return/index.html
- Cares about his fellow man: gave $3,000,000 to charity in 2010 and $4,000,000 to charity in 2011; that’s $7 MILLION in just 2 years. Would you have done that? Romney did.

- He’s pledged (repeatedly) that he’ll repeal Obamacare and replace it with something better.
- And finally…..he’s N-O-T Obama.
P.S. - If all one can say about a candidate is that they are a member of "X" church and ignore the talents and character of the person, that person does not deserve the privilege of voting.
Sarah-
Best to leave the ice pick in the ice bucket next to the bourbon and beer.
Hang in there, lots of celebrating to enjoy tomorrow.

Tomas Grande, nice top ten list of why Romney might lose.
Hope to be drinking celebratory beers of Dos XX's on Tuesday if Obama wins.
Stay thirsty my friend.
WCA - If Romney wins with 270 electoral votes maybe 279. I will accept, for example he wins Fla. VA, Ohio and NH. puts him at 270. It is close in Co. lets say he wins there he gets to 279. If somehow he wins 300+ EV's I will not believe it meaning he swept Pa, Wisc, Mi, - states that he shouldn't win. If Romney barely wins at 270 I can believe it, if he wins big I will be extremely doubtful. See Tomas' list to see why I really believe Romney gets rejected.
I only hope that whatever happens people don't hit the street. Would be terrible to see something like what happens after Super Bowl's and World Series wins during those celebrationary riots.
Geo,
Do you honestly think that "big money", outside donations, are strictly a Democratic problem?
White Collar Auto
How long do YOU think it's acceptable to force people to wait in line to vote? Four hours? Eight hours? Nine hours? That's how long the waiting times have sometimes been in Florida. You can pretend not to notice, but people are clearly giving up and going home without voting.
I hope everybody remembered to set their clocks back an hour on Sunday, and that they remember to Not set the country back 50 years on Tuesday!
Vote straight Democratic right down the line.
I don't know Houston.
Why did these folks wait until the last minute to "Vote Early"?
Why do you assume these folks were all voting for Obama?
You folks will find anecdotal stories for the next 48 hours when, in fact, 99.9% of voting in this country will go off without a hitch.
Do you assume that only "Democrats" give up and go home?
Feisty Redhead Roselle, IL
Yes. God told Billy Graham to take Mormonism off the Religious Right's list of unacceptable "cults" such as Scientology. So it's OK with the Lord and his best bud Billy to vote for Mittens, now.
where are all the LWNJ's this a.m.?
what a joke. why do you libs insist if your canidate were to lose it just couldnt because the populus wants 'change'. nope its going to be racism, bigotry, suppression and intimidation. Libs have more excuses than my kids

Getting to the polls eight hours before you're allowed to vote isn't waiting until the last minute.
I don't assume that. Republicans are also going to be disenfranchised by the party they're voting for. But early voters are much more likely to be Democrats than Republicans in Florida and Ohio, and the Republicans don't mind disenfranchising a few of their own to keep Democrats from voting. But you probably know that.
Well Mark, you threw me with that one.
If it's close you will buy it, if it's a landslide you won't.
Hmmmm.
As for the riots, I have only seen reports of concerns from one side.
And it wasn't if their guy won.

Americans with common sense will vote on November 6th, 2012 and dismiss the JOKER in the White House
Hopefully, this seemingly never-ending political onslaught will be over tomorrow night. For voters who have been paying attention, there's more than enough evidence that president Obama is the only clear choice.
Interestingly, here in Massachusetts, Republican senator Scott Brown is "running away" from his party. His ads now are trying to portray him as an "independent voice". He is also saying "Vote for the person, not the party". Amazing! Hopefully, Liz Warren and savvy voters will end his confusion.
Voters should go to the polls tomorrow and vote for continued progress. NOT the crippling regression we saw from the last Republican administration. More of the same failed policies will be guaranteed with the Romney/Ryan ticket. With recessions, Republican administrations "don't disappoint".
Republican rhetoric has never matched their lack of "preformance". We have Mitt Romney who wants the American people to reward him with the presidency. We learned he never served his country in the military and didn"t pay his fair share of taxes. (None, which he will go back to paying after the elections.) His running mate, Paul Ryan is even more radical than Barry Goldwater, whom the American people resoundly rejected in 1964. (Goldwater detested the influx of religion into politics.) America simply cannot afford this ticket!
"Ye shall know them by their fruits"....... Jesus Christ
Obama/Biden 2012 - The ony clear choice.
Oh yeah it is quite reasonable and rational to go back to a policy of trickle down economics that has proved to be a failure by every measure for the last thirty years, with the single exception of transferring more of the nations wealth to a very few of the nations most wealthy families.
But I will give you that Christie did an exceptional job of publicly Kissing Obama's butt now that he needs a boatload of those federal dollars republicans feign such much disdain for.
Updated as of 10:00am EST on Monday, November 5, 2012:
*** OBAMA, AT LONG LAST AND AS EXPECTED, PULLS AHEAD IN VIRGINIA WHILE WIDENING HIS LEAD IN NEW HAMPSHIRE.
Additionally, Obama’s leads strengthens over the weekend in Ohio and Iowa while softening in Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, and Michigan; Romney successfully expands his lead in Florida while losing slight ground in North Carolina.
Curiously, polling in Colorado is strangely absent over the weekend.
Mischief alert: Quite a bit of suspect outlier polling favorable to Romney was floated out in Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, and Michigan on Sunday in the face of multiple polls which confirmed consistently strong Obama leads in each of these states (the Karl Rove axiom of 'shaping perceptions to alter outcomes,' perhaps?).
---------------------------------------------------------
With less than 14 hours to go in the 2012 presidential campaign, Real Clear Politics (RCP) reports that Obama leads in nine of their eleven toss-up states with Romney leading in two.
In descending order of 'percentage of lead' in favor of Obama, followed in ascending order of 'percentage of lead' in favor of Romney, here are the published averaged numbers from RCP as of 10:00am EST together with the most recent FiveThirtyEight election night probabilities of victory for either candidate:
In WISCONSIN, with 10 electoral votes, Obama's lead fell Sunday to 4.2%, down from 5.0% on Saturday. However, FiveThirtyEight currently gives Obama a 94.5% chance of victory here, up by 1.2% from Friday and by an astounding 8.8% since Tuesday.
In PENNSYLVANIA, with 20 electoral votes, Obama's lead fell Sunday to 3.9%, down from 4.1% on Saturday. However, FiveThirtyEight currently gives Obama a 97.9% chance of victory here, up by 1.8% from Friday and by a significant 3.8% since Tuesday.
In MICHIGAN, with 16 electoral votes, Obama's lead fell Sunday to 3.8%, down from 4.0% on Saturday. However, FiveThirtyEight currently gives Obama a 98.7% chance of victory here, up 032% from Friday and by 0.6% since Tuesday.
In IOWA, with 6 electoral votes, Obama's lead rose late Sunday to 3.0%, up from 2.0% on Saturday morning. FiveThirtyEight currently gives Obama an 81.2% chance of victory here, down by 1.4% from Friday but up and by a substantial 7.3% since Tuesday.
In OHIO, with 18 electoral votes, Obama's lead rose Sunday night to 2.9%, up from 2.6% on Friday. FiveThirtyEight currently gives Obama an 86.8% chance of victory here, up by 6.1% from Friday and by an astronomical 13.5% since Tuesday.
In NEVADA, with 6 electoral votes, Obama's lead has been holding at 2.8%, up from 2.4% on Friday. FiveThirtyEight currently gives Obama an 90.0% chance of victory here, up by 2.8% from Friday and by an
astonishing 10.3% since Tuesday.
In NEW HAMPSHIRE, with 4 electoral votes, Obama's lead this morning has risen to 2.0, up from 1.5% over the weeknd. FiveThirtyEight currently gives Obama a 80.2% chance of victory here, up by 1.5% from Friday and by an astounding 9.9% since Tuesday.
In COLORADO, with 9 electoral votes, Obama's lead has been holding at 0.6%, down from 0.9% on Friday. FiveThirtyEight currently gives Obama a 69.7% chance of victory here, up by 4.0% from Friday and by an astronomical 14.3% since Tuesday.
In VIRGINIA, with 13 electoral votes, Obama early this morning emerged with his own lead of 0.3%, reversing a longstanding but narrowing Romney lead of 0.3% from Saturday. FiveThirtyEight currently gives Obama a 72.6% chance of victory here, up by a substantial 7.8% from Friday.
---------------------------------------------------------------------
In FLORIDA, with 29 electoral votes, Romney's lead this morning has risen to 1.8%, up from 1.4% over the weekend. FiveThirtyEight currently gives Romney a 55.5% chance of victory here, up by 0.7% from Friday.
In NORTH CAROLINA, with 15 electoral votes, Romney's lead fell this morning to 3.0%, down from 3.8% over the weekend. FiveThirtyEight currently gives Romney a 77.2% chance of victory here, down 2.2% from Friday.
So...
In order for Obama to win re-election the least complex route would be through maintaining his existing leads in the five toss-up states where his current margins are widest (Wisconsin at 4.2%, Pennsylvania at 3.9%, Michigan at 3.8%, Iowa at 3.0%, and Ohio at 2.9%. Doing so would bring his electoral vote total on Election Day to 271. In this scenario, Obama could still surpass 270 while failing to hold Nevada, New Hampshire, Colorado, and Virginia.
However, should Obama fail to hold the strategic prize of a hotly-contested Ohio, the loss could effectively be neutralized by any of the following combination of wins from states where FiveThirtyEight is currently
forecasting Obama victories:
Path #1: Obama loses Ohio but holds three of his remaining four toss-up states where his current leads are greatest, Nevada, New Hampshire, and Colorado resulting in 272 electoral votes.
Path #2: Obama loses Ohio but wins Virginia while also taking only one state from among Nevada, New Hampshire, or Colorado resulting in 272, 270, or 275 electoral votes, respectively.
----------------------------------------------------------
For Romney to unseat Obama, he not only would have to hold the two states in which he presently leads, North Carolina and Florida, bringing his electoral vote total to 235, but also steal victories in at least one of the following possible combinations from states currently leaning Obama, listed in descending order of likelihood based on the reverse engineering of current FiveThirtyEight numbers for election night chances of victory:
Path A: Romney retakes Virginia and steals both Ohio and Colorado resulting in 275 electoral votes (least unlikely outcome).
Path B: Romney retakes Virginia and steals both Ohio and New Hampshire resulting in 270 electoral votes.
Path C: Romney retakes Virginia and steals both Pennsylvania and Colorado resulting in 277 electoral votes.
Path D: Romney retakes Virginia and steals both Pennsylvania and New Hampshire resulting in 272 electoral votes (most unlikely).
Working against two of these scenarios (Paths A and B) are rising averaged polling numbers over the past two days for Obama in Ohio; however, in that same forty-eight hour period Romney succeeded in reducing Obama's averaged leads in Pennsylvania, Colorado, and New Hampshire. Perhaps somewhat mystifyingly, the Romney campaign continues to make pronouncements alluding to their having embraced the "Pennsylvania Strategy" included in Paths 3 and 4 above, the two paths which have the least likely chance of success.
So, is this a bold strategic maneuver on the part of Eric Fehrnstrom or a feint designed to draw Obama away from Ohio in the waning hours of the campaign in the hopes of reversing a damaging trend in that state away
from Romney? If so, a review of the published travel schedules for the President and key Democrat surrogates for this last day of campaigning, with the one exception of Bill Clinton, suggests the Obama campaign is not taking the bait.
In any event, should Romney retake Virginia but fail to steal either Ohio or Pennsylvania he could overcome this shortfall by capturing the four other states in which Obama's current leads are smallest (Colorado at 0.6%, New Hampshire at 2.0%, Nevada at 2.8%, and Iowa at 3.0%) resulting in an electoral vote total of 273.
--------------------------------------------------------
FiveThirtyEight this morning estimates the chance of Election Day victory for each candidate as follows: Obama 86.3% (up significantly from Friday morning's 80.9%) and Romney 13.7% (down by a similar margin from Friday's 19.1%).
FiveThirtyEight now also projects that on Election Day the final electoral tally will be as follows: Obama 307 (up 8 from Wednesday's 299) and Romney 231 (down 8 from Wednesday's 239).
Lastly, although it makes no difference in terms of the final result which can only be determined by the Electoral College, FiveThirtyEight currently predicts a national popular vote distribution on Election Day as follows: Obama 50.6% (up from Thursday's 50.4%) and Romney 48.5% (down from Thursday's 48.6%).
With only 14 hours of campaigning left, holdout voters may now be left to nothing more than the proverbial 'feel in their gut' as tomorrow approaches.
--------------------------------------------------------
A FEW ELECTION DAY PREDICTIONS:
Expect a plethora of polling place horror stories from across the nation on Election Day including fistfights and resulting arrests involving Tea Party-backed poll watchers from TRUE THE VOTE, et al, in multiple urban
precincts throughout many if not all of the eleven toss-up states.
Expect craziness in Republican Governor Rick Scott's Florida…sheer lunacy, in fact.
Expect unwillingness on the part of the Republican Secretary of State in Ohio, Jon Husted, to call the election in his state in a timely manner.
Expect a mandatory recount in Colorado if the margin of victory falls below 1.0%, bearing in mind that the Republican Secretary of State in Colorado, Scott Gessler, is a doppelganger for Ohio's Jon Husted.
Expect FOXNEWS to be clamoring for Darrell Issa-led congressional investigations into Democrat voter fraud, less real than imagined, even before the polls close.
Expect Right Wing talk radio hosts Rush Limbaugh, Mark Levin, Erick Erickson, and Glenn Beck to begin fomenting, if not actually inciting, "popular resistance" to the certification of the legitimate Electoral College outcome, and we all know what THAT is code for, while condemning the continued use of the Electoral College itself.
In spite of these obstacles, Obama wins the White House with an electoral vote tally of 303 to Romney's 235, taking Colorado and Virginia but failing to steal Florida in the process. All legal challenges to the certification of the election in federal courts are summarily dismissed with prejudice and Barack Hussein Obama is sworn in for his second term as President of the United States on January 20, 2013.
The very next day, and with no fanfare or publicity, the lights come on in Hillary Clinton's 2016 presidential campaign headquarters.

Sarah - Shaking down the little guy who makes up the union to use his due money to help pay back a bribe. This is how Democrats do it. Its out that GM is cooking the books to make them look good, but the problem with cooking the books is that it only works a liitle while. Gm will fail precisely because they went about the banckruptcy the wrong way. If they followed Romneys approach they would be a lot stronger. This will be told in a few short years. But Obama used this to bribe the unions now he wants his payback. He thought he could buy Ohio. Will see if he is right.

Tax breaks for the rich has been Republican policy for 30+ years now. The billionaires club pours millions into TV ad campaign that used to go to our government in the form of tax revenues before the Republican tax cuts. Is this the future of America? Where the rich try to buy elections, so they can get even bigger tax breaks to increase their share above the 24% of nation's income they get now. (Up from 10% in 1980).
They promise us jobs, but they only look at their profits as they continue to take more and more income from the middle class. The great American consumer market is being squeezed by the rich's greed. They sit on their investment money waiting for consumer sales to increase. The solution is obvious.
OBAMA 2012...for a fairer and better future for America
Why do you assume these folks were all voting for Obama?
Gotta go with Houston on this one WCA. I'm sure he or any other rational person left or right would agree, voting should be encouraged not discouraged.
5%, 10% - 100 Electroral votes
About winning percentages, this will not be a landslide on either side. If either side wins by 100 EV's something was rigged. Maybe Obama gets to 294, maybe.
My scenario - Obama wins Nv. Iowa, Wisconsin, Virginia, Colorado 281 (Pa, Mn. not in play for GOP)
In addition to above maybe Obama wins NH and Ohio but loses Colorado.
MSNBC and the candidates told me that Ohio would decide the election.
So I shouldn't bother going out and voting, right? I mean, if I follow what I've read.
Thankfully, I put less faith in up to the minute reporting than I believe either Obama or Romney will put improving the economy at the top of their agenda. For anyone who needs it spelled out for them, that's, 'Next to none.'
Independant, i thought that a little odd too when i listened to the presidents speech and he said said vote for "revenge". Just a little strange to hear a sitting president say vote because of "revenge". To which i thought ... revenge for what exactly?
Obama leading in early voting, but by a much less margin than last time. Won Colorado early voting last time by nine, now losing by 2. Won Ohio by a 2 to 1 margin last time and up by a 5 to 4 margin now. Won Iowa by 25 or so points in early voting last year and up by only 6 now.
What i found interesting is that McCain actually won voting day last year but BO had such a big early voting margin he won it. Dems almost always turn out heavy early while Reps turn out heavy on actual voting day. Almost always, no idea why. Will be interesting if that trend plays out this year again, advantage probably to Romney if it does.
For those that think we need a businessman in the White house to fix the economy.
The Great Depression began with the stock market crash of 1929. President: Herbert Hoover. Republican businessman (mining).
Great Recession began with the financial crisis of 2007: President: George W. Bush. Republican businessman (oil).
Trickle down economics only favors the wealthy and leads to capital sequestration by the richest and most powerful. If you've ever played Monopoly (tm), you know that eventually someone has all the money and everybody else loses.
Money has to flow for the economy to prosper. Businessmen want to lower labor costs, not hire more people than absolute minimum.
Get out and vote. Don't let the rich, powerful people control the country.
I guess a month of voting isn't enough for liberals, now we need to extend the polling hours. Reality will be here soon enough for the Obama faithful, and it really won't go that late into the night before they realize he is one and done. Obama is playing to smaller crowds then in 2008, absentee ballots were far fewer then in 2008, and polling shows Romney has a 12 point lead among independents. Republicans are energized, which is a fact no seems to be disputing. Everything is aligned for a lopsided Romney victory, who by the way will exceed 300 electoral votes. So liberals should keep their crying towels handy, and start working on their blame and excuses. After all, why should the end of Obama come with a different tone then the past four years?
Sarah - Using Dues and using profits are just a little bit different don't you think? Yes, these are legal bribes how else would you see it. I'll bail out Government Motors, screw the share holders, save the union contracts, and charge the 53% of Americans who pay taxes. What does that sound like to you? Now he wants his!
Rick,
Why wouldn't you want as many people to vote as is possible? The more hours the polls are open, the more people get to vote.
And how do you know they're all voting for Obama?
shaak -- the tax code gets started in the house. let's go back to 1913 and the 13th amendment. since that time the tax writing committee in the house has been controlled by democrats for 66 years and by republicans for 34 years.
by this margin it seems reasonable that the democrat party has a great responsibility for creating these tax breaks for the rich.
by the way, can you list some of these tax breaks that only apply to the rich? and please share your definition of rich?
Geo,
You're saying "Yes they are legal bribes", doesn't constitute evidence. Hell, I think money in politics is shady as hell, and should be illegal myself, but it isn't. Your accusation is untrue and unfair.
There is NO difference. Money corrupts on BOTH sides. Why do you think ANY of these big money donors, donate? What, the Koch bro's just want to participate in the system? The NRA just really likes politics?
Gimmie a break, you're being intellectually dishonest at best.
And you didn't provide that link to a private investor willing to bail out the auto industry.
It is bribery Sarah, legal bribery. Unions and corporations give money to buy what they want, to both sides. Then the politicians give them what they want in grants, loans, contracts, tax breaks etc. But thats NOT news to you :-)
I would have bailed them out as a bond holder, given the right agreement put forth. I wouldn't even consider it in the future as the bond holders were forced to take a bath, even though they were in first position. Very bad precedent. That was akin to you filing bankruptcy on a 200k house loan and the govt forcing your mortgage company to take 50k for the loan, even though they were in a first position.
If you seriously think that the country is not going to want some sort of justice for the enmity that the Republican party has shown it over the last four years, then you are seriously mistaken.
This isn't "just politics." Republicans played with American lives, American jobs trying to get at President Obama and to make him a one-term President.
No disagreement there. He tried to be nice and had his backside handed to him for trying to work together. But I think he's learned from the experience and you can expect him to show some backbone over the next four.
Well I will tell why I am cynical, and about evil IT. The Waterloo strategy that was publicly stated and employed by republican elected officials who represent our nation at the very highest levels when a grunt in the military would be court marshaled for much less is despicable. Not one republican stood up to their leadership to call them out on their intentional neglect and conscious refusal to honor their oaths of office. This is the very reason I will very likely never vote for a republican for any office at any level of government ever again in my lifetime. They openly stated as their plan of action and number one priority as elected officials of the US the failure of the duly elected president, to simply make sure Obama was a one term president, and they did this right after his election, they called for and planned for his failure at the nations expense, you call that bipartisanship. They were so worried that this president would have any success that they denied themselves any accomplishments in the process, this is the worst Congress in history, bar none. When Bush was president these very same people said it was "unpatriotic to criticise a wartime president that it would embolden our enemies and cost American lives", what the hell happened to that line of thought on their part. There is no defense for their words and actions, they wrote the book on evil and cynicism, they don't deserve my vote, and if they worked in my crew I would fire everyone of their sorry crybaby asses, because I do my job whether I like the boss or not, that is my reputation and integrity on the line not his. I think I have good reason for my skepticism of your claim of bipartisanship with regards to republicans IT.
An outstanding posting of the truth-- to start this important conversation, Ms. Feisty! Keep up the good, honest, well-intentioned work, please!
The republiturds, 'baggernuts and birthers will stop at nothing to screw real Americans out of their right to vote!
BTW: Obama/Biden will win on Nov 6, 2012! No doubt, whatsoever!! FORWARD...!!
Nobody has been able to answer my simple question:
If Romney was such a great governor, why is Massachusetts not overwhelmingly voting for him?
Obama has a 30+ point lead there. The answer is, Romney was a lousy, absentee governor that spent his last 400 days campaigning for the 2008 nomination. He is the only career campaigner in the business except Ron Paul and Ralph Nader (although at least those two are working, too).
Buh bye, Wrongme.
Obama 2012!!
We almost have America on her knees!
One more term will seal the fate of this country. We will cater to foreigners and rule Americans with an iron fist.
We will remove America's sovereignty and wealth, distribute it through the third world and place America more under the control of international governance!
We will open the gates to anyone who wants to come here, make them equal citizens and make WHITE PEOPLE second class citizens!
We will force socialism -then on to international communism! We own the media, we control the minds of the masses! We will win!
Obama 2012!
If there is one thing that I will be glad to see disappear after this election its all this disingenuous war on women crap. God, please, if you want to debate your side, please let's debate with honesty and stop this trumped up demagoguery. There is no war on women, Mitt Romney has never said he wants to take away anyone's birth control, or lord over anyone's ovaries. STFU. The real debate is big government vs smaller government, higher taxes vs. stable taxes, central planning vs. free market. socialism vs. capitalism.
A few of you righties are claiming lefties are in "desperation" because of voter supression or other shenanigans.
Well actually, that's the ONLY thing we're worried about. All the swing state stats point to an Obama win, like it or not. The ONLY thing that changes that are voting problems.
Who do these "problems" serve? They didn't serve Al Gore, that's for sure. They're not going to serve Obama or stable democracy for that matter.
Chaos would be bad. For the sake of our nation, I'm hopeful everything is clear by Tuesday night or Wednesday morning.
Sarah - What private investor would deal with the union contract that Government Motors has? No one! This is what will kill GM. This is why Romney is smart and knew how to restructure GM for the future. Obama just wanted UNION VOTES. The bias press won't dig into the GM mess intill it's too late and that is coming. Look at how slow GM is at everything, look at thier Europe sales, Ford who did not take the bail out is far ahead of GM. complacency kills and Government Motors is next!
The House of Representatives will be essentially the same as now after the election, with Republicans in control with about 240 seats.
This means that a vote for Obama is a vote for several more years of 'GRIDLOCK', since Obama has demonstrated that he is either unwilling or unable to compromise with the Republicans.
Unlike Reagan and Clinton, who worked closely with an opposing Congress to get lots of good things done, Obama has made only one attempt to meet with the Republicans (on the Debt crisis), and even then he reneged on the 'deal' he made with Boehner.
With Romney as President, we will at least have some cooperation between the White House and Congress, and avoid more GRIDLOCK.
The "swing" in favor of Obama seems to have been solidified by Romney being caught in his lies in Ohio. His own words not "attacks" by others will sink him. Romney is not a stable option from his tax plan that does not work mathematically to his "get tough" attitude with other countries.
Both Ryan and Romney have lied to you openly, this is not the type of administration I would like to see with their finger on the button. This is a dangerous option.
Choose stability and diplomacy for a safer world.
Actually, Feisty, it isn't hard to see why those governors and state legislators want to make it important to prove that a voter is legitimate. Only the Democratic party has a reputation for voter fraud, vote manipulation, voter intimidation, and illegal votes. Preventing fraud is no less important than allowing eligible voters to vote.
Gee... That's too bad since he got nearly 98% in 2008!
(racists voting strictly on racial lines)
:OP
"shenanagins" will happen on both sides. There are unscrupulous people on both sides. Hear about the democratic guy that had his son resign from his campaign because he was caught on tape talking about getting fraudulent votes? It's not a party issue, it's a lack of character issue. As Sarah says above, to think one party is superior in character, values, money issues, whatever is naive. People that claim that are politically biased on either side.
Geo,
Don't get me wrong, I'm NOT a fan of the unions. I believe the concept is essential, but the state of our current labor unions is atrocious. They desperately need to be reformed.
That doesn't change the facts though. There were NO private investors willing to bail the auto industry out. What do you think would have happened to the economy, already in crisis, if Chrysler and GM had gone down?
GJALT,
I'll bite. Make a case why, I as a female, should vote for Romney.
All I ask, is that you are intellectually honest and support anything you post as FACT with credible evidence, and that you actually make a case, not just assertions or talking points.
Amen, Gjalt!
You summarized the REAL issues wonderfully! Unfortunately, that does not server the libbies so they deflect with all of these 'made up' issues - spreading lies and dividing our country. REAL PATRIOTS!
HA!
:O)
wow just scrolling thru these posts - you libs are just plain pathetic - all you can spew is lies and hate
LIBS = BMW = BITCH, MOAN AND WHINE
ROMNEY/RYAN 2012-2016
Early voting should be 7 days, beginning on Tuesday and ending on Monday, but should be available 24/7.
Sarah-3043284 "Please let the next 48 hours go by fast, because I LIKE politics and even I am getting ready to jam an ice pick through my forehead."
Chill out and remember the famous speech by Bill Murray in the movie 'Meatballs' - "It just doesn't matter".
Have a nice glass of wine about 8PM and enjoy the show.
Ticked off, your position on the Right to Vote has been refuted many many times. The phrase "Right to Vote" exists in MANY amendments. The Constitution DOES specify that Representative be chosen and Senators must be elected "by the People" (i.e. - via an election and that requires votes)
Lastly, IF we are expected to accept a literalist, unchanging interpretation of the Constitution, then slavery would still exist (as was specified in the orginal Constitution), women could not vote, and poll taxes would be legal. Further sir, the Constituion itself provides proof that it is a "living document" specifically because our Forefathers included the ability to amend it within the original document.
The fact that the words "Right to Vote" does not appear in the Bill of Rights (i.e. - the first 10 Amendments) in no way negates the de facto AND de jure validation of this right.
Sure is a lot of hatred and hyperbole this morning. I don't know what is scarier that a lot of you vote or that a lot of you are breeding. Tone it down guys after tomorrow half of America will be happy and the other half will be sad..............but the sun on Wednesday will still rise and the earth will still be spinning. I like to take a look at "First Bitch" because it's posters almost never use actual facts they just spout diatribe and stale talking points and make baseless claims it is kind of like watching a race to see the wrecks. And for the couple of you who try to stay civil and throw the occasional fact into the conversation...........GOOD LUCK!
On political campaigns, corporations outspend unions by more than 10:1
I agree that GM should have been helped. But why bring politics into? The only group that did not take it in the moon were the Unions, because Obama needed thier vote. I agree with you on unions. Did you ever see the Simpsons were Mr.Burns was bricking a worker in a closet, circa 1900, and the worker is going off on how they need a union but the union would become to powerful and kill itself. Hillarious! Thanks for the chat got to run.
Obama and Christie working together repairing the disaster that Hurricane Sandy left.
Probably just burns those one party voters to the hilt it does. You know, politicians from opposing parties coming together and working on saving lives and property. You can smell the smoke!
starderup = massachusetts is an over-whelming democrat state. it is no surprise that they will vote for obama regardless of his failings.
the accomplishment of romney being elected governor in a democrat state was very impressive

Governor Rick Scott of Florida is a GOP DILDO.

Obama once said "If you can't run on your record, you make a big deal about little things".
His 'War on Women' issue is proof positive that he applies that strategy.
Roy Wilson,
I don't think voting for Mitt so that we don't get GRIDLOCKED for another four year is good rationale. EXTORTION isn't a good reason.
On the other hand, I agree "it just doesn't matter" is probably true for the vast majority of people. The econoomy is going to rebound almost no matter what. We give the politicians WAY to much power over how we FEEL from day to day, and that drives our economic decisions all too often.
When money is donated by unions for political action that money is voluntarily collected in small amounts, donated by individual members who voluntarily elect to do so, dues money is never used for political donation, as that has been illegal for at least 35 years. That "big money" donated by unions represents a lot of small voluntary donations by rank and file working men and women of the USA. Do individual stockholders have any say or option when corporate funds are donated for political purposes, no they do not.
bchredhead - AHH What? They are using money they EARNED. Not money takin from a worker. I know the blind can't see, but get your head out of your A$$ and breath.
Houston 1.33
No enthusiasm fro Romney?
It's nice to know that 30,000 for Romney rally in Cincinnati is not enthusiams for Romney and that 15,000 for Obama two days later IS Enthusiam!
Wake up dude, in 2008, Obama would have had 50,000!
Tom, Springfield, MA post 1.64
Brown is Brown. He hasn't changed his position once from what he ran on in 2009. He is a New England Republican, but far better than Collins or Snow who barely voted republican more than 50% of the time.
SmBusOwnerinNY "Roy Wilson,I don't think voting for Mitt so that we don't get GRIDLOCKED for another four year is good rationale."
It''s a better reason than anything I've seen issued by either candidate lately.
Do we REALLY want 'four more years' of what we have now?
SmBusOwnerinNY
The rightwingers have been promoting crackpot conspiracy theories about the polls that show Obama leading, about the BLS jobs numbers, and of course, their birther nonsense. But they pretend that people waiting in line to vote for up to eight hours because of Republican voter suppression laws is just some sort of crazy conspiracy theory rather than the demonstrable fact that it is. As always, their capacity for hypocrisy equals their capacity for dishonesty. Those two character traits always seem to go together.
Forrest, that is simply not true. Most union dues come out in one lump sum and the rank in file have to live with what the few at the top decide to do with it. I have been in a federal union since the late 90's and the only say i have is votes for who runs it. SEIU just by itself has put over 70 million dollars into this campaign for Obama. I myself have personally dropped of a 500 dollar check in the past for my local congressman directly from my union and i had no say in it. I actually felt as though i was bribing someone to get favorable legislation.
Every cycle i hear dues paying members say "what kind of benefits would we have if we could put that 70 million towards dental and vision"?
The real debate issue seems to be free Cochlear implants and a seeing-eye dog for Gjalt... Your "observations" regarding the war on womens rights sound creepily mormonic.
Romney, in typical form, has claimed to be on all sides of those issues to the point of possibly creating new ones to claim to be on part of the time. But everyone knows he lives in Stepford, so they point and laugh.
MSNBCMFE
How about posting only the new stuff, OKAY. Anybody opening any thread one time already knows your lengthy analysis.
Here is a better analyis.
Of the Swing states Obama takes Nevada and Iowa (and maybe not this one). Romney takes the rest. Repbulicans have more than closed the margin of loss of 2008 in all the rest. Since Republicans and Independents like Mitt a lot better then McCain, Romney will win the rest and a couple of surprises.
DB Akron
Nope. Romney is the Great White Hope. People who show up at his rallies don't actually like him. He's just the instrument of their wrath toward the president.
The day before the election, and the spins for candidates rule. Barry can't lose; Mitt will win. And the pundits are all telling us why.
Feisty is still on her keyboard telling the cyber-world why Obama is due his next term, even though he hasn't performed in his first term. Backhouse keep talking about the Obama war on women line, which backhouse is getting old.
We all can have our opinions, but the simple fact in this election is the job market and the economy. The pocketbook will rule this election.
Houston, if Republican voter suppression is a demonstratable fact then educate me. How would showing ID make lines longer? Maybe some little old lady takes an extra 5 seconds to show an ID?????
Ball of Confusion
People movin' out
People movin' in
Why, because of the color of their skin
Run, run, run, but you sho' can't hide
An eye for an eye
A tooth for a tooth
Vote for me, and I'll set you free
Rap on brother, rap on
Well, the only person talkin'
'Bout love thy brother is the preacher
And it seems,
Nobody is interested in learnin'
But the teacher
Segregation, determination, demonstration,
Integration, aggravation,
Humiliation, obligation to our nation
Ball of Confusion
That's what the world is today
The sale of pills are at an all time high
Young folks walk around with
Their heads in the sky
Cities aflame in the summer time
And, the beat goes on
Air pollution, revolution, gun control,
Sound of soul
Shootin' rockets to the moon
Kids growin' up too soon
Politicians say more taxes will
Solve everything
And the band played on
So round 'n' round 'n' round we go
Where the world's headed, nobody knows
Just a Ball of Confusion
Oh yea, that's what the wold is today
Fear in the air, tension everywhere
Unemployment rising fast,
The Beatles' new record's a gas
And the only safe place to live is
On an indian reservation
And the band played on
Eve of destruction, tax deduction
City inspectors, bill collectors
Mod clothes in demand,
Population out of hand
Suicide, too many bills, hippies movin'
To the hills
People all over the world, are shoutin'
End the war
And the band played on.
Great tune, but I feel safe in assuming The Temptations would not subscribe to your political ideology.

Most experts predict that GM will be back in bankruptcy court between June 2013 & 2014. In bankruptcy, companies are supposed to get concessions from the Union, instead GM made Concession of ownership to the unions. The 3rd quarter profit was because the European division made a rare profit and GM severely cut both R & D and capital improvements. Without those 3 events GM loses money. Nov 1 was another installment of Obama care. GM will get a kick in the profits again for that. By 2014, GM will get still another kick in the Healthcare costs.

Only 80% of the minorities will vote for Obama? In 2008 that number was between 90 & 95%. Less on the same page is not uniting.
For those that want to perpetuate this "voting suppression" nonsense.... http://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&frm=1&source=web&cd=5&cad=rja&sqi=2&ved=0CDsQFjAE&url=http%3A%2F%2Fmunews.missouri.edu%2Fnews-releases%2F2008%2F0102-voter-id.php&ei=5e-XUNCoK6zDyQG3xoC4DA&usg=AFQjCNHEdmETZixpYs9X-zgn5Ak-e26LUQ
This University of Missouri study looked at 2002 (before ID law in Indiana) and 2006 elections(after the law). It found voting not only went up in 2006, but up in traditionally democratic counties.
Delaware and i think Nebraska also studied actual elections and also concluded there was no instances of "suppression" either among minorities or traditionally democratic counties. This is all "theory" about suppressing votes which actual turnout proves false.
I'm part of the 47%.
OBAMA 2012

I was reading the Comunist party facebook page the other day. They would be very proud of you! You've thought of thing they haven't!
Not sure how you take pride in an election that has divided the country so fiercely, promoted racial hatred ON BOTH SIDES and left voters thinking their votes don't count anymore. Read an article on The Grio this morning and couldn't believe the racial comments being made by the posters of all colors, people voting up name-calling like "cracker" and "ni**er". All you read is "black" this, "white" that... Sad times for America.
BTW Job 1: Any Woman that votes for Romney is happy to be a door mat, and lacks all self respect. I think any woman who allows someone to make this assumption about them for having an opinion that doesn't match yours is a doormat for being shamed into voting against their own beliefs and the lack of self-respect that follows is a result of being controlled instead of allowing them to think for themselves. Why can't people respect others opinions anymore and show some civility? We aren't all going to agree on everything.
No BigATC, what I have said is the exact truth, union dues by long standing laws can only be used for the operating expenses of the union, period. All monies donated for political purposes are collected separately and voluntarily, that is the law, and has been for a very long time. If you want to see all the details of what your unions dues money paid for and financial details for every single dime of your union all you have to do is look up their LM2 report which will be a matter of public record, which is another thing corporations do not have to post. The myth that union dues are used for politics is what is simply not true and has not been true for a very very long time.
We will see if the sampling matches the electorate, I for one will be glad when its over the sophomoric banter of the believers is tiresome.
Ever wonder why Feisty is always the first to post? Perhaps because she is a hateful paid Obama blogger that has nothing else to do but wait for the next MSN post so she can pursue her pathetic attempt to divide readers.
Our forefathers would be ashamed to know the Presidential election has been reduced to elementary name calling.
Whatever the result, this country needs leadership, not division and hate for others that have a different designation on their voter ID. What a sad time for this country.
Feisty, you raise a very good question. Why are Republicans trying to stop early voting ? I'm a political news junkee, so I was watching the various shows over the weekend. On them you can see pictures all over the country of people lining up for hours to get in and vote.
My daughter asked why the people in charge would make it so hard to vote. I said that the reality is that for many people, voting on election day is difficult. Particularly for people doing manual labor or factor work. They don't get the day off and they can't risk getting to work late. Many of them vote early. Because many also tend to vote Democratic, the Republicans want to make it more difficult to vote, hoping that people will get discouraged and not vote.
The Republican party hopes to steal this election, just like they did in 2000 and 2004, by preventing as many citizens from voting as possible. They are hoping that only wealthy, white, rural and very suburban voters; who tend to vote Republican, will turn up and vote.
BTW: One important thing that DB Akron "forgot" to mention is that Cincinnati, OH is a REPUBLICAN stronghold in that state. It's no big surprise that Romney would draw a much bigger crowd there than Obama did. Any Republican candidate who was still breathing could draw a big crowd there.
If Romney wins, the middle class loses. This particular election can be simply boiled down to the simplest terms.
The main issue of this election is, are you willing to trust a privileged few to reverse the course of this country which has been doing everything it can to cater to the interests of the wealthiest few since the the 1980's ?
Make no doubt about it, this is a watershed moment in American politics where either we have a country that cares about the wants and needs of the many or we cater exclusively to the demands of the few large corporations and the extremely wealthy.
If Romney and a majority of his fascist party for the wealthy are elected you will see major changes such as the further erosion of unions, which to some uninformed people think is good, but you are destroying various organizations of working class people that set the wage and benefit standard not only for their members but for all other non-union organizations.
If the thought of being paid less than the minimum wage, working in unsafe conditions, having a job but being perpetually poor while the wealth gap grows ever wider and your political influence grows ever smaller then vote for Romney. He will provide you with all this and more just to make our country into their country; by their country it should be understood that if you are not wealthy you will essentially not be considered as worthy as being a citizen who matters to the social-economic-political system you are only a pawn in their game of maximizing profits.
The biggest reason not to vote for Romney would be the repercussions of having members of the Supreme Court resign and to have more Conservative justices appointed to further erode democracy in this country.
Make no doubt about it this election is about the choice of democracy over fascism.
Not like American wars where 85% of casualties are always WHITE!
Paul,
If you read the cabinet meeting minutes from 1921 - 1930 you'd see that Hoover promoted the concept of increasing interest rates to stop the inflationary growth of the stock market. This, because there was no support in congress to limit borrowing for securities (stocks). The interest rate was raised in 1928 from .5% to 5.5% and in 1929 from 5.5% to 6%. What happened is private banks stopped borrowing from the fed, but continued to lend for stock until they ran too low on cash reserves. From July 1929 to October the market started to peak and began to decline. The selloff was touched off on a profit taking Friday that investors sold 2 - 3 times the normal amount.
Playing with the interest rate was market manipulation.
What 2008 was also market maniuplation, only in housing. The housing demand was created because politicians insisted that even people with no real income or credit record should get their own home. That artifically inflated the market until the failures crashed it.
Anyone with an ounce of sense, and any regard whatsoever for future generations, would not vote Obama back into office.
Anytime the prediction is that every minority is going to vote for the candidate that wants bigger government and government entitlements, instead of jobs and economic growth, there is something seriously wrong.
BigATC
Unneeded voter ID laws aren't the voter suppression tactic under discussion. It's cutting early voting days almost in half in Florida and cutting back the number of hours on early voting days in Ohio. THAT's what makes the lines so long that people give up and go home without voting. I guess the Republicans are employing so many voter suppression tactics you're having a hard time keeping them straight.
HOG lover
7 days or 2 weeks with adequate facilites hours 7 am to 7 pm. With 24 hours I have visions of seniors and others getting robbed in some places that polls are at.
I have no doubt Obama would win a fair election, but I fear a concerted Republican effort to steal the election via an organized effort by Tea Party "poll watchers" to suppress the minority vote, limiting voting hours and unnanounced relocation of polling stations in minority districts, and every other dirty trick they can think of. I suspect the Republican predictions of "greater Republican voter enthusiasm" is an attempt to make these forthcoming fraudulent results seem plausible in retrospect. I recall the stolen 2000 election with the resulting 9/11, 2 wars, and the worst recession since the 1930's, and hate to imagine the results if the Republicans manage to steal this one. Considering the Romney campaign's own statements about "shaking the Etch-a-Sketch afer the primaries" and how they were not going to let their campaign be dictated by fact checkers, I find it incredible that any well-informed intelligent members of the middle class could seriously consider voting for these people.
Houston
Hamilton county, a Republican stronghold voted FOR Obama in 2008 and it wasn't close.
Who is behind Romney? Have you asked yourself how someone who performed so poorly in the Puke Primary could stay in the game?
Who is behind him financially? Ans Koch Bros, Adelson, and the dirtbag that is running the gas industry in N. Dakota.
Who is behind him politically? Karl Rove, Grover Norquist, and Dick (head) Cheney.
Dick (head) Cheney was in Bush41 administration as Defense Secretary. He was in Bush43 as VP. He is behind Mitt the Twit and will lead us straight into another war.
@Dirp
The fact that your mentality points to "stealing" when discussing an election indicates that you believe that any republican win would be fraud regardless of the actions. This is basically a sore losers approach, you believe that you (or the democrats) are the only winner, or the only possible winner and any challenger must "steal" the election. In a nutshell, you have a dictators mentality.
Rick-3416939
Are all you really that stupid, ? My in-laws in Florida are republican and were upset about the reduction in Early Voting. Their jobs don't allow them the Luxury of standing in line for 7 or 8 hours. They also say they will vote for anyone but Scott in the next Governors race. Give me one good reason ANY STATE should make it's Voters have to stand in line more than 1 hour to vote.
In the 2010 election people were turned away from the poles after standing in line for hours to vote. So last year Republicans Shortened the Early Voting Days. Spin it all you want, ITS WRONG.
Still think the corporations didn't buy themselves a few Supreme Court seats? And a major decision in their favor?
They're trying to buy a few more with this election. Hey, GOP? NO!
I can't wait until November 7th, when we hang, "We're hiring" signs!
Romney/Ryan for a "United" States of America
I see the liberals are teeing up their excuses already. My question is, if Romney wins will there be riots? Probably, because if there are not enough Obama votes....it must be racism, voter supression and reduction of early voter hours (which works against both parties, duh).
I got a poll for ya!
ACountryHeadedTowardsAWall:
The ideas of voter suppression, the ownership of susceptible to fraud electronic voting machines, the changing of the locations and limiting of the times to vote all point toward a party that disrespects the idea of democracy in action in a fair and free election.
Let's face it, the Conservatives are nothing but traitors who will sell out their fellow Americans to make themselves richer. I have more respect for traitors that do so for ideological reasons, but to do it solely for money is completely contemptible.
I sure hope they actually count the military votes this year. What happened the last cycle was total BS. These guys have singed their life away to protect out country and their votes count. Coming up with excuses NOT to count them is treasonous.
OK Houston, so there is a certain amount of time to vote that everyone knows about. How does that favor one party or the other? You think Republicans have a stronger will than Democrats to stand in lines?
Why would a Democrat or Libertarian or Green party member be less likely to stand in line than a Republican?
Fiesty has one more day on the job.
Sure will miss her.
Maybe she will switch and support the winner like most of the newspapers are doing.
Better hurry.......
I have comfort in the fact that after I vote tomorrow I will get to see Eddie Vedder play. Then I will return home to the news and watch my President receive 4 more years in office. Every repube on this vine is so filled with hate it is pathetic. Read your own words and maybe you will see how pathetic you have become.
BillyBob-- Your name says it all
WCA-- you as well
Spanky -- get out of the bathroom and go vote before your palms get hairy and you go blind.
You are calling Republicans "Repubes" and WE are the ones filled with hate and pathetic. Perhaps you should look in the mirror before calling HATE on anyone. The comments you made to other individual posters in your message just proves who has hate.
So am I, Mike277, and I don't want to be.
ROMNEY 2012
REAL AMERICANS!
Stand TALL, don't mock, don't make silly oneliners, don't call names, that is weakness!!!!
We are headed to the finish line, neck and neck, we need EVERYONE to rally the team.
Romney/Ryan with Chris Christie for no more partisan bullying!!!
Gjalt:
There will be hiring, and soon!
Romney/Ryan 2012
Not only should we make sure we vote and show who we have believed in for the last 4 years but we should vote out anyone that has been standing in the way of progress. Get rid of those Congressmen that refuse to work together, from the special committee all the way down to the Governors who are trying to keep us from voting! There's the change we need! Romney doesn't have a clue how to run this Government we are not a company looking for a scum sucking boss/owner that sells the company to China!
Hey, TO WHOEVER LOSES THIS ELECTION
Will you do us a favor here on First Read. Will you come here and cry?
Better yet, get angry, and pretend how you weren't wrong all along anyway.
Looking forward to it!
They all stand in the way confused. The best quote i have heard is from Sen Tom Coburn ....."the best thing that could happen in this election is if every one of us running for re-election lost".
Guess which guy Military commanders prefer?

Feisty Redhead Roselle, IL......you said:
Unfortunately, it is not certain they are mistaken.
It is now apparent to all that demographics in the United States are changing inexorably to disfavor traditional conservative GOPeaParty ideologies and perquisites. Their response has been to, without hesitation, seek to dismantle democratic institutions, rights, and conventional principles many of us considered sacrosanct and immune to attack (from within).
Regardless who wins the election tomorrow, democrats should realize these anti-democratic initiatives will continue and accelerate as republicans perceive and are motivated by the political realities they face.
We (democrats) have learned through bitter experience that our political foes are ruthless in their determination to maintain power and to sacrifice even our democracy in pursuit of their financial and political ambitions. The systematic demolition of cherished voting rights is but the latest manifestation of their strategies. It will not be the last and it will not be the most egregious.
Other democratic principles such as secret balloting, voter age limits, and even tax status should be understood as unsafe before conservative hysteria at the prospect of becoming a true minority.
The next four years are crucial both for conservatives to destroy and progressives to protect our most cherished democratic legacies. This is not fantasy. The evidence is clear. We must fully understand the profundity of this battle. Just as importantly, we must effectively convey this understanding to those who have yet to grasp its nature.
I keep hearing the left wing nuts talk about long lines in early voting and that there is voter suppression by some states. I keep hearing we should make voting easier for people. I remember when there was no early voting, and when I first started voting you had to be 21 years old, and, unless you voted absentee, you had to show an ID card.
I went back and checked voter turn out since 1960 and found that the percentage of voters eligible to vote was highest in 60, 64, & 68 (all above 60%). Since then the turnout has been between 55 - 59% 4 times and below 55% 6 times. I find it a shame that people complain about our political system but still won't vote. If you are eligible to vote and choose not to then you have no right to complain about the direction of our government.
It appears that making it easier doesn't necessarily relate to a larger turn out.
Here we are just one day away from the Presidential election, and the news media is "doing its thing" once again.
You plastered the Internet, TV, and the newspapers with pictures of Obama kissing up to Chris Christie after Hurricane Sandy.
But, you don't show the people who are still suffering in places like Brooklyn & Queens, lower Westchester County, Long Island & Connecticut, and of course Staten Island. All told there are more than 100,000 people STILL without power a week later, and we have another storm coming on Wednesday. Garbage is piling up in streets in some neighborhoods, and there's still no drinking water, and no food available in other places.
And let's not forget the gas lines! If you want gas anywhere in the tri-state region you're going to wait 1-2 hours to get it, and you can only have 10 gallons at a time.
I thought Obama was going to take care of all of this?
Oh Noooooooo, he's out campaigning in Ohio, that's where he is.
Like I said before; Obama only cares about your VOTE. He doesn't care about YOU.
But, not a word about any of this in the national media.
I get a kick out of your headline too;
So basically what you are saying is that there are people out there who will vote for Obama strictly because of his color.
Real nice. If white people did that you would call them racists. (In fact, many members of the media have already done that!)
But the biggest kick I get out of everything you have written here, is that everything is pro-Obama. Obama has the momentum, Obama's numbers are similar to Bush's in 2004, Obama this, Obama that.....what about the Gallup Poll that still shows Romney up by five points, The Rasmussen Poll which shows him up by one, and the CNN, Political-GWU Battleground, and Fox News polls which all show the race in a flat footed TIE?
Its interesting to note that of the three major cable-news broadcasting networks, only MSNBC has Obama ahead.
Hmmmmmm, methinks we're in for a long night tomorrow, and Romney just might win!
This election is about where this country is going here and now....and MOST Americans think we're headed in the wrong direction, no matter how this website tries to "spin" it.
We cannot afford to have this guy in charge anymore. He didn't get the job, and hasn't earned reelection. He says in one breathe that the buck stops at his desk, then in another breathe he says that we shouldn't return to the policies that got us here in the first place.
So which is it? Does the buck stop with him , or is he blaming someone else for where we are today?
The policies that got us here are HIS, and HIS alone. HE ran up the 16 trillion dollar deficit. HE did nothing to create new jobs, in fact LOST 2 million jobs in the first 5 months of his presidency.
Eeconomically, everything about where we are today has to do with Barrack Obama.
But that's not all. The Benghazi situation still requires answers for the American People, and the Families of Those Who Died! Those diplomats asked for help THREE TIMES, and were REFUSED. Then when Christopher Stevens and his staff were killed Obama said it was because of a video. He went to the UN and told the same story. THEN HE LIED on NATIONAL TV when he said that he called it "AN act of terrorism." Because he never said that!
But the REAL proof of his disregard for American lives is when Obama responded to a question about his administration’s confused communication after the assault by saying: ‘If four Americans get killed, it’s not optimal.’
Pat Smith, whose son Sean died in the raid, said:
Good for you Mrs. Smith. We want those answers too! But, we'll never get them if this guy is reelected, because he is a liar and he will bury the truth with the power of the Oval Office. Unfortunately, Obama doesn't give a damn about your son Mrs Smith, and that's why we have to get him out office!
Be PATRIOTIC and FAITHFUL TO YOUR COUNTRY! What's more, think about the economy, and how lousy it is! If Obama-Shama-Lama-Ding-Dong didn't fix it in the last four years, what makes you think he'll fix in the next four years"?
The answer is, he won't.
DEMOCRATS FOR ROMNEY 2012!!!!!
“Mitt Romney the GOP candidate who violated federal ethics laws will be the first Presidential candidate to be charged before an election for President.”
politicolnews.com/romney-charged-with-ethics-violations-before-the-election/#ixzz2BN9Xgiaz
And this is the man you want for president!!!!!
Why is there so much hate on the Left? Hasn't the Right handed over enough of their hard earned money yet? You lefties want more free Obama phones and food stamps and welfare money? Why dont you get off your fat asses and work for your money, like the Right does?
As my great-great grandmother used to say: "remember to keep your words soft and sweet because ..." Wednesday "you will have to eat them". Prediction: Wedneday Obama 1.8% of the popular vote, and 300+ electorial votes. Don't forget to vote!
ZMan, a guy in the Guard i work with talks of voting against Obama (lifelong Dem) because of the Benghazi debacle. Not sure i believe him, but he talks how pissed his Guard unit is over how Bennghazi went down. Mostly because of the creed of not leaving your fellow Americans in harms way. He mentioned the easiest way to disburse the event, which i also heard later on the tube, to have F-16's overfly the attack on full afterburner. Would have bought valuable time to get more people to help, although that never came either. Never seen this dude get worked up like he is.
It's funny, i switch channels often watching the nightly news just to see who covers what and how ......and MSNBC has not once even mentioned Benghazi that i could find.
Washington Redskins loss Sunday predicts Romney victory
Washington Redskins' loss Sunday predicts a Romney victory
Redskins fans might have been disappointed their team lost 21-13 to the Carolina Panthers, but Mitt Romney likely was not.
WHEN the "Redskins Rule" holds up Tuesday, the Republican presidential nominee will become the country's 45th president.
The rule says a Redskins win in the team's final home game before Election Day keeps the incumbent party in power and a loss means the other party claims the White House.
Since 1940, the rule has predicted the winner 17 out of 18 times.
The only time the rule failed was in 2004 when the Redskins lost to the Green Bay Packers.
That year, Republican President George W. Bush won re-election over challenger and Democratic Massachusetts Sen. John Kerry.
@Illumination,
I would engage in a battle of wits….but I am afraid you are unarmed. Do you really believe what you just said? If so, proceed to the local courthouse and change your name to “Sore Loser”.
The true reality is NORQIST has bought all the REPUBLICAN politicians that includes Romney & Ryan, these two clowns have pledged their loyalty to Norqist so if they get into our WHITE HOUSE the country will have been bought by the RICH because I'm sure you don't have a say in that organization do you, they will be able to control this country for their own gain. Don't whine if this happens.

Colorado is the only state which Republican early vote passed the Democrat early voting. Romney will win Colorado.
@Feisty#1: Unfortunately no. We haven't had enough, and likely never will. We are a nation of people who are driven to chase wealth at all costs. Imperatives of moral fortitude, shared hopes and dreams for the betterment of mankind, and even the nurturing of our children, are all thrown aside and trampled by the stampede of collective American greed. In the case of electing officials, the greed will always push Its own for the power to further the scope of that greed. Sadly, it is what it is.
President Barack Obama is contrary to the above. That, and His skin color are why He is hated by so many. Regards Ma'am
More name calling by the liberal left meant to intimidate people into thinking Mitt doesn't have a chance to win, when we all know that ISN'T TRUE.........
It's funny how so many democrats on on this site today; doesn't any of them have JOBS? Oh wait, the reason why there aren't as many republicans on this site is because we have to go to work to support them and their President..... Makes sense, doesn't it.
Anyone who votes for Obama is probably receiving some kind of govt. assistance.
Makes you mad, doesn't it!
Let's show them what we think at the polls.
Romney/ Ryan 2012.
Feisty asked where are all the Mitt and Ryan supporters? Since it's the middle of the day, they are all probably at work. Have you noticed than generally the liberal side comes out and comments the most on political articles during the day, then you sore more conservatives come out after 5 o'clock or so? I wonder why?
A nation taught to chase wealth at all costs? And you say that is a Republican thing? Because it seems to me that democrats want to chase wealth - provided it's someone else's.
DB Akron -- You mistake my post. It is links on Republican voter fraud for the poster who calls himself Colorado man.
I see the liberal left wingnuts, Ministry of Truth, and the state owned Media outlet are setting up the excuse for Mr Obama being voted out of office as - the racists voted him out rather than the simple truth that he got voted out because he is an incompetant idiot.
I will vote for Obama Unhappy, and I have always had a job, good union jobs with health benefits, I have just over a cool million in my retirement account (no thanks to republicans) which is just about enough according to the financial gurus, due to those union benefits as well. I have worked hard and steady all my adult life, I pay plenty of taxes, I pay a bigger percentage of my income than Romney pays, I pay to support republicans in right to work for less and less and less states who even if they are working use the emergency room as a clinic because they have no health insurance, need food stamps to get by, and will depend solely on SS, medicare, medicaid and whatever government assistance is available to them in their old age. So please stop with the Government assistance is for Democrats BS, 9 of the top 10 welfare states are solidly republican voting states, because they wanted the right to work for less and less and they got exactly what they wanted.
Starderup ...(#1.92)..."Nobody has been able to answer my simple question:
If Romney was such a great governor, why is Massachusetts not overwhelmingly voting for him?"
Hmmmm.....Maybe you can ask AlGore why he didn't carry his home State of Tennessee....Perhaps, there you will find your answer, Grasshopper.
Dicked,
The sports superstition has already played out. The winner of the World Series ie..SF Giants, the candidate that carries that state, in this case California, will win the Presidency.
However, it would not have mattered if the Detroit Tigers would have won the World Series, ie Michigan, Obama will win that state as well.
But you forget Bigdogg - the Redskins lost. Therefore, Republicans will prevail and Romney will be President.

I am sorry that you have the the contempt of a Mitt Romney against anyone who sees through your ideology of selfish greed over the interests of the majority of this nation.

I was reading it earlier on the Election Political news.

A country where the wealthiest few refuse to pay either their employees a living wage or their fair share in taxes is doomed to collapse.

So you think that housing for those who could not afford it caused the housing bubble.
All those bogus mortgage securities helped finance the housing boom. Bankers and investors bought them because they thought they could make money. This had little to do with affordable housing and everything to do with greed by people with lots of money to invest.
Balloon mortgages were a high profit mortgage for mortgage bankers. That they put people into them had little to do with affordable housing.
1/3 rd of houses built in 2007 were not primary residences, but speculative investments and vacation homes. Nothing to do with affordable housing either.
You Republicans love to blame the little guy and those who sought to help them as the main cause of the housing bust, but you cannot explain the 3 points I've made above with this rationale.
Too much investment money created the housing boom. That buyers could not afford the high prices of houses at the end of the boom created the fall in real estate prices that exposed the fraudulent mortgage securities for what they were, and that then threatened the health of the mortgage lenders and the owners of the mortgage securities. Defaults on the balloon mortgages added to their bad debt and further accelerated home price declines. Buyers don't want to invest in something that will decline in value and that sealed the fate of the housing boom as it became the biggest housing bust in our history.
And let's not forget the "Jesus" vote, where 320,000 have signed a pledge that instead of voting for either Romney or Obama - they where going to vote for Jesus. http://www.goddiscussion.com/100268/over-320000-christians-pledge-to-vote-for-jesus-as-president/
How many other christians are going to do something similar? Or just not vote for President? Or vote for Gary Johnson?
There is so much bull $hit here I need scuba gear.. Straight up Obama is a communist and racist and has no clue how our economy works.. Wa Wa Wa Republicans are jambing the election because the states are requiring complete forms and valid ID's.. When ACORN registered thousands of dead and fake voters that was OK.. Calling Republicans racist? Some fat Black news show guy with skinny little glasses said anyone who does not vote for Obama is a racist? and if he is not reelected the Black man will riot.. What bull $hit.. A vote for Obama is a vote for the loss of freedom.. All kinds of new taxes are in the pipe thanks to Obamacare.. Taxes on anything the health care panel thinks is bad for your health.. That would be tobacco, alcohol, firearms and ammunition, fast foods, candy and items containing sugar like sodas, coffee and other items with caffeine, gasoline and other petrochemicals like bug sprays and fertilizers and lubricants, cars and trucks that run on fossil fuels, coal and any users of coal which include power generation and that means your power bill, BBQ grills, fireplaces and wood burning furnaces along with all other forms of heat generation for your home, the list goes on and on and on.. In a few years families making less than $100,000 will be paying more than 50% tax and the only group not taking a hit will be people that are living off of society.. We are so screwed...............................

Well if this ain't about the stupidest comment ever.... And there about 12.5% of Americans on food stamps and AFDC nation wide.... I'm guessing too you don't have any daughters with kids (who make a good bit less than male BTW) or parents living which need some assistance with food and bills....
So Acountryheadedtowardsawall.... Maybe you should wait til that number grows by about 12.5% to start complaining.... I'm guessing you can't use a calculator....

Well with all the outsourcing of American jobs thats been going on since 1981 (and a few years earlier than that even) like the automotive industry, millions of manufacturing jobs and such.... In 2006 the housing industry all but closed, the companies here all went bankrupt due to people whom backed them pulling their investment moneys out....South Americans yearly average income is just $3.120 and in Mexico that amount is $6,500 and in China that amount is $14,000 and there are hardly no environmental issues with most of these places so the rich business owners can do what the hell they want there....
America is and aways will be a great place.... We have an increase in public held debts, a decrease in our deficit.... Big business men/women have no place in politics because they are biased against the poorer in our country....

As the overwhelming numbers for Obama from early voters in Ohio proves, Democratic voters prefer early voting much more than Republican voters do, at least in Ohio and Florida. This is most likely because the Democratic voters are scraping by working two jobs or a night shift and can't take off time to vote during the limited time permitted on Election Day.
NOBODY should have to stand in line for eight hours just to vote, at least not in a real democracy.

Not about the unemployed who can't find a job even though the "job creators" have all kinds of cash they can spend but won't because there is no demand. So let's give them more, right?
Damn, I can't take the stupidity that comes from the racist, selfish, religious, mindless right. They follow the Rove-FauxNews-propoganda like lemmings. Will the idiots PLEASE educate themselves on the banking crisis of 2008 (before Obama) and how it nearly put the world into a depression. Or on Bush's War that he created with Iraq and how it put us in this debt crisis (before Obama). Or on the Tax Pledge that EVERY republican has signed to NEVER increase taxes no matter much the country needs it, or Grover Norquist and group will make sure you never win another primary. Or the gap between the rich and middle class and how it's growing at an astronomical rate because of the current tax rates and what the devastating effect that will have on future earning and bargaining power the working class will have in this country.
Of course DHS statistics don't support that claim. The statistics show that Bush deported more than 2X what Obama did and returned more than 10X what Obama did. Of course who needs FACTS when you can blow hot air out your azz like Obama, right AmericanTaliban?
Fun facts about Mr Obama
Mr Obama offered more illegals deferred status and work permits than he deported.
Mr Obama is the 1st US President with ullegal alien relatives evading deportation orders.
It is common knowledge that the Repugnants do cater to "big money", it is absolutely hypocritical when the Demoncraps behind closed doors sell out the US Citizens to "big money", while saying that the money came from "individual" small donations.

example: President Obama's Buddy "Mr. Corporate America" getting the US Supreme Court to Rule in favor of the Unlimited Corporate Campaign Contributions before the Citizens United Case made it's way thru the US Court System, so that President Obama could get his Unlimited Corporate Campaign Contributions from the Insurance Corporations, Medical Device Corporations, and Pharmaceuticals Corporations. This is NOT unusual for President Obama as his previous violation of US Law, McCain Feingold Bipartisan Campaign Reform Act prior to and during the 2008-2009 Elections as admitted by his Buddy "Mr. Corporate America" who was fined (slapped on the wrist) $200,000.

As a method to get the "big money" out of US Politics, starting at the bottom, and not President Obama's Definition: "Anyone stating a radical change to (US) Government is a Homegrown Domestic Terrorist":
To start, my solution is to have our US Congressional Representatives chosen at random like Jury Duty, with Vetting as a Civic Duty. Paid a National Average of the "Middle Class". Benefits like the US Military (including automatic payroll deductions for (TriCare) Health Insurance, Social Security, Withholding State and Federal Taxes, etc.) upon completion of their Civic Duty these "benefits" end. Cheaper "Middle Class" housing paid by the States at lower cost of living Virginia (they are responsible for getting themselves to and from work). Special Interest Groups and Lobbyists 100% Illegal and Enforced Prosecutions. Term Limits. Votes of No Confidence. Elimination of the Electoral College.
Previous Bipartisan Presidency and Vice Presidency. The losing Party's Presidential Candidate becomes the Vice President.

Our President said that he would cut the deficit in half by the end of his first term. That did not work.
Our President has provided an economic "plan" for the next 4 years that is mathematically impossible. That cannot work.
I see a pattern here. Our President said that if he could not fix the economy within three year that he did not deserve a second term.

Vote for Romney if for no other reason than to end the race war within our politics!
When President Obama and his fellow democrats decided to concentrate on healthcare rather than jobs, they handed the republicans an easy shot at the presidency. It shouldnt even be a contest for a republican to win. They have squandered an election the democrats handed them on a plate by:
1. Nominated the guy who lost to the guy who lost to Obama in 2008.
2. Put their priority on making Obama a one term president by using obstruction rather than showing that they were better for Americans.
3. They refuse to admit they had any part in what caused our countries economy to collapse, and want to continue those same policies.
4. Even with some job openings getting hundreds of applications from those seeking work, and few companies expanding and creating new jobs, republicans continue to portray the majority of unemployed workers as lazy handouters.
The republicans should have had an easy run to an election landslide, but they shot themselves in the foot. They have only themselves to blame. Had they not done all of the above, put people ahead of ideology, and nominated a somewhat moderate candidate there is a very good chance they would have gotten my vote.
For your future, your children's future, your old parent's future, and future disasters....DRILL BABY DRILL!!!
What about drilling into the low Capital Gains Tax Rate of 15 %. I think a 20 % increase in that rate to 35 % would go a long way to balance the budget.
First of all, this was the worst recession that the United States (and the world) has EVER faced since the Great Depression. And secondly, recoveries from a financial crisis ALWAYS are slower than from normal recessions. Economic growth has been slow, and unemployment is still high. But tell me this: we were hanging off a cliff in 2009, and now we are a few paces away from it. Are we done??? No. But give me one good explanation (besides the whole "Mitt Romney is a businessman" crap) why Mitt Romney's supply-side economic policy would do ANYTHING besides increase the debt, blowing up economic inequality, and setting the stages for economic decline.
Stimulus IS HOW you fix an economy; that is how we got out of the Great Depression. World War II was a massive fiscal stimulus that pumped billions of dollars into the U.S. economy in the midst of the crisis, increasing demand and thus creating jobs. In a recession, private investment and production falls to below the economy's potential output; since there is a gap between actual production and potential, and since the private sector won't revive itself, the government is forced to step in and fill that gap with stimulus, i.e increased spending. Unfortunately, while the stimulus did save us from going into a depression, it was not adequate enough to propel us back to full employment. That is why (ideally) the federal government would have had to pump more money via fiscal stimulus (and unconventional monetary stimulus) until the economy reached full potential and full employment, more or less. As we all know, that was not the case. After the initial stimulus, the government failed to keep pumping money into the economy, instead falling prey (as with the rest of the world) to the fiscal scare of increasing deficits and forgetting that deficits are natural and not terrible in a recession. When Obama finally came back to stimulus, the GOP denied him a shot at reviving the economy, seeking instead to promote the failed concept of supply-side economics while denying him a relatively easy road to re-election.
First of all, the individual mandate was a CONSERVATIVE idea floated forth by the Heritage Foundation to encourage "individual responsibility" and counter Bill Clinton's healthcare proposal. Secondly, most economists and health experts agree that in order to fix the healthcare system, we need a larger government presence, whether it be through a public health insurance option or a full-blown single-payer system. Thirdly, just about any major legislation reforming a sector as big as healthcare would lead to lagging job creation in the short term, due to the fact that it would force employers to reconsider investment and hiring decisions. But the long-term benefits (reduced deficits, a bending cost curve, and more insured Americans) far outweigh the costs. And by the way, this was a BIPARTISAN idea, one that Democrats and Republicans floated around before the 2008 election. The only difference was that there was a public option in the plans, while this law had no such thing (a ploy to convince conservative Democrats to vote for it).
Oh don't give me that bull@!$%#. You Republicans wouldn't even vote for the damn stimulus (even though you voted for the bailout of the financial sector), and you sure as hell wouldn't vote for this thing even if Obama cut out everything that made it remotely left-of-center. The idea of an individual mandate was a REPUBLICAN idea, and Obama expected bipartisan support; he got none. You bastards refused to give him any pluses; you'd rather see him fail than the country succeed. I don't give a damn if it smacks of big government or "crony Washington politics"; Obama compromised the hell out to get this thing passed, and you wouldn't even consider it. Don't blame the president for your unwillingness to compromise.
Really??? Really??? This guy is nowhere NEAR being a socialist!! Healthcare reform was a REPUBLICAN idea from the 90s and was to the RIGHT of the centrist Democrat Bill Clinton!!! You HAVE to expand government intervention in the financial sector via regulation unless you want another damn crisis and a bailout (that part was just plain stupid, Bill). And finally, cap and trade was a CENTRIST and "free-market" way to control greenhouse emissions that was used to counter proposals to tax carbon. In fact, John McCain and numerous Republicans supported cap and trade before their party dragged them away from it. You really need to lay off the right-wing kool aid and start looking up your "facts."
Really??? Since when is asking the wealthy to pay the same damn rate that they paid under Bill Clinton "socialist???" Since when is trying to tip the balance of favor away from the wealthy and toward a more equal way bad??? We used to pride ourselves on equality of opportunity; now we have one party claiming that we have it and another party actually trying to restore it. I really don't see how a 3.6% difference in the tax code would turn America into a Marxist hellhole.
Actually, our tax system is NOT progressive. I don't think your numbers are right, and they fail to take into account the rising levels of economic inequality ever since the supply-side experiment began under Reagan. Obama is not trying to turn us into the dystopia in Ayn Rand's Atlas Shrugged. And by the way, it is the concept of cutting taxes on the rich and deregulating the economy that has nearly bankrupted us. If you actually look at Europe, they have a much better education system, a strong economy based on manufacturing (thanks to government aid and investments), higher median wages and better hours (thanks to labor unions), and lower poverty levels (thanks to better social programs.
My fellow Americans, tomorrow we as a nation decide the path that our nation will follow for this generation, and the next. If we make the wrong choice and fall victim to the forces that led our economy to the brink of collapse, we might lose the America that we grew up in or dreamed forever. If we make the right decision, we will have a chance at perfecting our nation and enabling our children and grandchildren to live in a better, safer, and more prosperous world. But let me warn you, and let me warn the nation, that if the Republicans win this election, and the economy continues to recover (which it might, if they don't do anything stupid), they will be given the opportunity to rewrite history in the most Orwellian way possible. They will be given the opportunity to turn their backs, say "Okay Democrats, we'll compromise with you," and rewrite themselves as the party that worked to save America. They will essentially eliminate the past, how they let the nation founder aimlessly in order to beat the president, and how they led us to the brink of economic Armageddon at the debt-ceiling debate, all to beat the Democrats in the next election. They will be able to eliminate 5 years of partisan obstructionism and gridlock that THEY caused and regain the credibility that they lost under Dubya. If we the American people don't stop the GOP in 2012 and show them that we aren't stupid and that we know that they were the obstructionists, we will give them the power to rewrite American history forever.

dragonmaster (#1.219):
Thanks for bringing up the written proof that Mitt Romney is a tax dodger. It substantiates an article I read from Rolling Stone magazine about this affair.
illumination fascination-3070427 ..."What about drilling into the low Capital Gains Tax Rate of 15 %. I think a 20 % increase in that rate to 35 % would go a long way to balance the budget.
Any idea how many seniors, retirees depend on the income from their investments and you wanna raise their taxes ???.....Why do you hate old people ???
If one Democrat can tell me how raising taxes on the rich will help job creation, I will vote for O'bama. Give me the mechanism that will enable this to happen....Dont give me, well, look at the Clinton years...give me the actual mechanism that will boost job growth. Keep in mind that any extra revenue that might be gained will not go for more government jobs...our debt is too high.
Raising taxes isn't a way to boost job creation, but it won't hurt it. Check the Congressional Research Service for that. But it is a way to kill two birds with one stone: we can reduce the deficit (substantially, if we return the capital gains rate to the 28% rate under Reagan and raise the top rate back to, say, 50%) in a way that won't hurt economic growth (since the wealthy are a small part of the consumer population), and we can start dealing with economic inequality, which has risen after 30 years of supply-side economics. And economic inequality, according to the OECD, is one of the highest factors on economic growth.

For any who haven't heard the news, and for others who doubt the veracity of the story revealing Citizen Romney's "charitable soul" vis-a-vis his use of a CRUT to skim money from his own "charitable donation" to his church, here's the citation to the business organization that broke the story.
http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2012-10-29/romney-avoids-taxes-via-loophole-cutting-mormon-donations.html
Character counts in a president.
How can anyone, let alone a nation, trust Citizen Romney when he steals from his own church via a trust, under the guise of being a "compassionate conservative"?
Romney/Ryan: None and Done.
illumination fascination-3070427 ..."What about drilling into the low Capital Gains Tax Rate of 15 %. I think a 20 % increase in that rate to 35 % would go a long way to balance the budget."
Gee, what an idea. Many European countries have a 0% Capital Gains tax rate, so I wonder where all of the investment capital needed for economic growth will go? (Hint - Not here). Remember also that any investments that people make have already paid taxes on previous income - the remaining 'Investment Funds' are just what's left after already having paid taxes on it.
Honestly, some people never learned to 'connect the dots' in Kindergarten.
Freshieee,
Stop attempting to Rewrite History.
WRONG. President FDR created the current US Military Industrial Complex to manufacturer "War Materials" to England, France, Russia, China, etc. (payments to US in Silver, Gold, Natural Resources) that got the US out of the Great Depression 1939 BEFORE US Entry into WWII, 1941. This was after his FAILED "New Deals to the American People" (Using money US did not have to create jobs), and President FDR Realized that US Consumerism would NOT get the US out of the Great Depression. And don't even say the US Labor Unions created the "Middle Class", as it was during WWII that the Women like Rosey the Riveter (saving all their money), that replaced all the men that were Drafted during WWII, that later became Rosey the Homemaker (the Baby Boom), that created the current "Middle Class".
And just like President Obama YOU Don't know the CAUSES of the current $60 Trillion to $100 Trillion Global Economic Crisis so YOU cannot fix sh!t either and have to play the lame blame game aka Bush Bashing.
You want to talk about Operation Iraqis Freedom as required by President CLINTON'S US Law, H.R. 4655 "Iraqis Liberation Act of 1998" Justification Section 2 WEAPONS OF MASS DESTRUCTION, Section 3 US POLICY OVERTHROW OF PRESIDENT HUSSEIN; with US Congressional Appropriations. That's Right PRESIDENT CLINTON NOT BUSH. With President Bush Mission Accomplished of President Clinton's US Policy of the Overthrow of President Hussein, with Bush's stated next phase to accomplish the UN Mission Nation Building of Iraq (the Obama LIE during the 3rd Presidential Debate, "Unilateral Invasion of Iraq", with this being a UN Mission, even NATO, Nation of Georgia and even the non NATO unarmed Japanese Defense Force participating).
How about telling the TRUTH about President Obama's spending of previously not budgeted for $2.1 Trillion, requiring the Cuts to the previously Budgeted Programs (Medicare), Projects (US Army Corps of Engineer Longterm Infrastructure Projects within the US (the other Obama LIE)), Agencies (Like FEMA, Veteran's Affairs), including the cuts to the Entitlements and Benefits of the "47%" as stated in President Obama's Proposal to US Congress.
And do NOT even attempt that lame "Budget Surplus" crap of "I didn't have sex with that woman" Clinton. US Congress "Sandbagged" the US Budget by giving Clinton more money than he could spend (President's Proposals to US Congress). As the REAL Indicator of the US Economy is the Interest on the National Deficit: Clinton, $18.9 Billion. Bush, $16.6 Billion.
You want to talk about China and Outsourcing, how about President Clinton giving China Most Favored Trade Nation Status in return for his getting Chinese "Donations" (Bribes) as stated during his Impeachment Hearings as "Chinagate". Do you honestly believe it was a coincidence that President Clinton was the former Governor of Arkansas the Headquarters of Made In China Walmart.
You want to talk about the 9/11 2001 Attacks how about President Clinton's Gutting of the US Intelligence Agencies that left the US Blind and Deaf to the events leading to the 9/11 2001 Attacks according to the Bipartisan US Congressional 9/11 Commission Investigations, Findings and Recommendations, with former President Clinton saying, "I'm a so sorry".
First of all, Europe is in a debt crisis, which is severely discouraging a helluva lot of investment. Secondly, so now you want to get ideas from other countries??? Only a few moments a go your buddies in the GOP were bashing the Europeans as socialists! Ready to admit their mistake???
First of all, the war production is exactly what I was talking about. The U.S government was contracting hundreds of thousands of war material before World War II, creating a stimulus that dwarfed the New Deal. The New Deal is essentially FDR's version of the stimulus package; it was a long-term investment and a large investment at that, but it wasn't enough to get the country out of the hole. But even with the military aid to England, France (until 1940), and the USSR, we weren't able to drag ourselves out of the water. It took the massive expansion of wartime production to boost employment and thus demand, injecting billions of dollars into the economy and rejuvenating the nation. Second of all, labor unions did not necessarily create the middle class; it had already existed since the late 19th century. What it did was strengthen in and turn it into the largest social class in the nation in terms of size and wealth, as it dramatically increased median wages and improved the socioeconomic state of the nation. The military-industrial complex gave a helping hand to American consumerism, getting us out of the Great Depression.
Actually, you don't know what caused the global economic crisis. It took 30 years of supply-side economics and deregulation to bring about this collapse.
I don't give a damn who started or not (and it was still Bush); the war was not needed, it was unwarranted, and it was unjustified, period.
???? Where the hell are you getting these numbers?? You're not making any sense. You're probably talking to the automatic sequester cuts, but I'm still not sure.
Well, actually the REAL indicator of the US economy is GDP and private sector job creation, which soared under Clinton but stagnated under Bush.
I know Clinton signed NAFTA and I still oppose it. Free trade is an idealistic concept that only works if everybody is doing it. If a few people aren't, then the whole damn house of cards will collapse.
OBAMA BIDEN 2012
Christina,
You need to more informed before you throw stones. Because I uprisingly read on NBCnews online that Mr. Obama only topped of the retirements of the Unions, that supported his election in 2008, with the billions in stimulas spending of hard earned taxpayers money to US Automakers and its unions. And the Delphi retirees where left out in the cold, because they didn't support Obamas 2008 campaign. Now the Delphi retirees are left to make ends meet month to month with their meager retirements, while other Union retirees( that supported Obama in 2008) live it up on full retirements. And this is the bipartisian politics that the Left accuses the right of, while on the other hand they are the ones most guitly of extreme partisianship.
The 47% couldn't give two spits about the 53%er's struggles to find a job and make ends meet, so long as they have security in their jobs and retirement benefits. And they are no less preoccupied that the Deficit spending of stimulas will be passed on to our 2nd & 3rd generations, and our youth is bieng mortgaged to Socialist Communist countries!! As long as they can live high on the hog NOW, and have a job where they get their beneifits paid for by the federal government subsidies. While the rest of us suffer higher healthcare insurance premium payments. Why should they care? They can save for retirement and and have a retirement payments given to them, without ever having to work truly hard to help their companies to be more profitable.
So now companies are shipping manufacturing overseas, to stay out of Bankruptcy, and try to keep viable in todays Economy, which has become the status quo for Obama and his supporters. And now they want four more years, to have the chance to tax the owners of the manufacturing companies even more than they already are, which will evetually cost more hardworking Americans their jobs. Whatever happened toworking hard a saving up for their own personal retirement? Now they want hand outs that they think they deserve? While the rest of 53% Americans scrimp and save to make ends meet and struggle day in and day out.
These people don't give two hoots, about womens rights, or illegal immagration rights. They are just saying they care, and make promises they never intend on keeping, just to get elected. The past fours years should be proof enough! The Economy has not improve except for those that recieved Trillions in deficit spending. And the honest truth the do not care that they are selling our country piece by piece to the Socialist Communist countries that our Fore Fathers and current Illegal Imagrants flead from to have a chanc at the American dream. Under Obama that dream is dead, and if you try, you will have to meet unsurmountable Federal regulations!
The choice is CLEAR:
Romney's Free Market- Bain Capital invested Private Money in:
AMC Entertainment
Burger King
Burlington Coat Factory
Clear Channel Communications
Domino's Pizza
Guitar Center
The Sport's Authority
Toy's are Us

Ener1-Bankrupt
Beacon Power-Bankrupt
Abound Solar- Bankrupt
Amonix Solar-Bankrupt
Spectra Watt-Bankrupt
Eastern Energy-Bankrupt
(All of these companies are Obama's campaign contributers)
The Choice is CLEAR.....
Do you want a businessman that has generated billions in domestic income and millions of domestic employment
-Or-
A President that has wasted TRILLIONS in hard earned taxpayers money?
I choose a Man who has know how, and will look out for all Americans Born here or came here from other countries, and want to persue the American dream!
Romney/Ryan 2012
Am.Vets
AmericanTaliban=TeaParty:
The question is ; How Many American Jobs Has Romney Already Sent Off Shore? He started with 2 companies that sold Mr. Coffee and the other Etch-a-sketch. Both were sent to China, his most recent is a steel factory. He has made MILLIONS sending our jobs to China.
A REAL AMERICAN VETERAN would know this and not support it. So I guess I'm calling you out as a PHONY VET. Don't imply that your a Vet then support someone who sees the troops as Cannon Fodder. Most people in service today fit into the 47% Romney cares nothing about. These service people have family's to support and wind up getting food stamps to feed them. If Romney cared he would pay his Fair Share in taxes and make sure our troops are paid a living wage.
MSNBC finally has told the TRUTH... it's all about RACISM for Obama....
Hopefully Obama will be re-elected and force an agenda that caters to the middle class through job training and fixes the imbalance of wealth and political power that was slowly siphoned away since the 1980's by the ruling class in this country.
This is our country, not theirs. It's we the people, not we the corporations. Vote against the wealthy fascists.
"May The Best Man Win"
So.....after the conventions, the debates, all the stump speeches, all the shiny objects and gaffes and nontroversies du jour, after all of the polls that are either a spot-on prediction or a total crock (depending on your point of view), after the billion plus dollars spent on ads that most people tune out after the first couple times anyway, and after almost four years of our own endless and often pointless bickering and name-calling and jockeying for position and seriously attempting to reduce the most important election in the world to "dog on the roof" vs. "dog on the dinner table"......after all that and so much more, that's what it really comes down to tomorrow, doesn't it? May the best man win.
So let's forget politics and policy for a moment and look at who's The Best Man here.
Mitt Romney appears to be a good husband and father who gives generously to his church and seems to abide by its teachings in his personal life. I think he is patriotic and loves his country and in his own way, he wants to make it a better place - at least for other people like him. He is very successful in a financial sense, which is nothing to scoff at. But in almost six years of running for president, he has yet to demonstrate that he has any understanding of how the poor and the middle class actually live, let alone any empathy for them. At best, he is simply bewildered by and out of touch with them; at worst, he scorns them as being worthless parasites who exist solely on government handouts and aren't worth his time and trouble. Through no fault of his own, he grew up wealthy and sheltered from many of the realities of life that these people face every day, and his efforts to pretend otherwise are both clumsy and devoid of any real feeling. In fact, he has so much difficulty relating to anyone outside his own inner circle that much of his own party despises him and half or more of the people planning to vote for him tomorrow don't really even like him very much. He often speaks without thinking, rushes to judgements before he has all the facts, and displays little if any intellectual curiosity about the complexities of world affairs. He is secretive, evasive, and both arrogant and defensive when questioned. And worst of all, the one single most telling core character trait he's exhibited with any consistency is that he HAS no consistent core character. All the "flip-flop" and "weathervane" jokes aside, the man has demonstrated an unprecedented ability to change his positions, to rewrite his documented history, and to abandon what should be his fundamental beliefs at the drop of a hat, depending on his audience. I have seen many politicians come and go in my 60 years. I have voted for many who were not in my party, because even though I disagreed with some of their positions, I respected them for having the courage to stand by them and to defend them so steadfastly. Of all the words I can think of to describe Mitt Romney, neither "courage" nor "steadfast" would ever even cross my mind. For all his successes, in many ways he's really a very poor man.
Then there's Barack Obama. It goes without saying that I'm prejudiced in his favor.....but okay - why? As I've said before, it goes all the way back to his "red states/blue states" speech at the 2004 convention and that instant sense of "recognition", that here was the man I'd been waiting for to become MY president all my life. As the no doubt apocryphal story goes about the old man crying as FDR's funeral procession passed by, who was asked if he knew the President and replied "No....but he knew me", I firmly believe that Barack Obama knows ME. Knows me and cares about me and wants to do what's right for me - me and the rest of America, both those who support him and those who do not. Over the last four years, he and his wife and even his young daughters have been subjected to some of the ugliest, vilest personal attacks and outright lies imaginable. (No, I take that back - even after four years of the vulgar epithets and disgusting avatars I've seen here every day, they are still completely UNimaginable to me. Unimaginable and totally shameful). He would have every reason to be bitter and angry and to lash back at his attackers, but he never has. He makes mistakes, but he has said from the start that he is an imperfect man and would be an imperfect president - as every president before him has also been . He is calm and analytical. He listens. He constantly exhibits a quality that I have always admired in others, probably because it's something I so desperately lack myself, which is "grace under pressure". He has never forgotten where he came from, and he has never once lost sight of where we as a country are going. He knows ALL of us, and will spend the next four years working as tirelessly to guide us through the uncertain future as if we were his own family. He will face whatever comes with courage, will remain steadfast in his resolve, and his beliefs, and he will continue to inspire me to do the same.
What will happen tomorrow? I have no idea. But for me, the best man already won four years ago. I already won. America already won, even if half of you have yet to allow yourselves to accept that. Hopefully, after tomorrow you'll get another chance, and this time leave your hearts and minds a little more open.
So, may the best MAN win. Again.
joanne'
"He constantly exhibits a quality that I have always admired in others, probably because it's something I so desperately lack myself, which is "grace under pressure"."
Grace under pressure?!!! Please! You seem to be mistaking backdoor plotting for grace. It's called "executive priviledge". In other words, if you don't like my solution, I will just use my positions' power to override you. Grace?! My a$$.
Bravo, JoAnne. This is the best closing argument for our President and against Romney that I have read. I couldn't agree more. I know I will do my part tomorrow and vote for the President.
Congratulations to Domenico and family on your new little girl. Wishing you all a lifetime of joy.
JoAnne, well said. Cheers!
Obama/Biden 2012
Outstanding JoAnne! May the President prevail.
JoAnne - " I firmly believe that Barack Obama knows ME"
Isn't that the goal of all good con-men? To make you believe something that you know to be untrue? If the past 4 years hasn't brought you back to your senses nothing will, and that is no-body's fault but your own.
Terrific post JoAnne and let's hope the man will win. I had the same experience as you from that 2004 speech, I too knew he was the man I wanted for my President and was elated in 2008 when he was elected. On that day in 2008 I never imagined in my wildest imaginings that he would be treated so disrespectfully in such vile and ugly ways, never once have I seen him show any way how hurtful it must be. He truly symbolizes 'grace under pressure'.
Tomorrow will I hope bring another four years of good leadership from a man I truly believes in doing the right thing for all of the people and sometimes a bit more for the everyday men and women who get up and try hard to also do the right thing for their families, their communities and their country.
Jo-Anne, beautifully said.
About President Obama: We know when someone is authentic. We see when they are consistently thoughtful. We get it when someone is brilliant - and also has a big heart.
We can spot a phony and a trickster very easily too. Someone like Romney is only looking out for himself and his monied class. Do folks WANT to be abused and fooled by RomneyRyan?
The GOP-ers taking and stomping on our voting rights represent RyanRomney. They are incredibly dangerous for the present and future of this country.
JoAnne - for some in this country, they would prefer a bumbling fool vs. a graceful president. Tis quite beyond me why they prefer an idiot.
Domenico - CONGRATS!!
JoAnne
You base most of your opinion on a speech he gave in 2004? Why don't you open your eyes to what he has done since then? He ia a failure at leadership. He knows nothing about the economy. How's the GITMO closing working? How's the Patriot Act looking? How about lobbyists? But you say, he passed health care. How are your premiums doing? Do all of your neighbors have jobs? It's pretty tough getting those food stamps today isn't it, because there are so many people in front of you.
I'm in awe JoAnne!
Thanks!
Richard, pjam & others-
You certainly proved JoAnne's point. Instead of making a rational argument as to why Mitt Romney is the better candidate, you resort to calling our President names or making unfounded accusations.
You call President Obama a 'con-man', yet fail to see that Mitt Romney is nothing but a high-priced salesman, willing to say or do whatever is necessary to get your vote.
President Obama has stood steadfast on his core principles of caring for all Americans, ensuring those who need it get a 'hand-up', and making sure we all play by the same rules - if we all do our Fair Share we should get a Fair Shot.
Mitt Romney has disparaged '47%' of Americans, saying it is 'not my job to worry about those people'. He has reversed his position where politically expedient on EVERY major issue.
Can you name even one issue on which Mitt Romney has not completely reversed his position?
President Obama is the clear choice tomorrow.
If this is coming down to voting along RACIAL lines, shame on us!
What happened to pertinent issues like
ROE vs WADE?
Women's rights?
Separation of churches and States?
Freedom for all?
Immigration reforms?
Equal Pay for Everybody?
Pursuit of happiness?
Freedom of Religion?
Institutionalized Racism?
Freedom to marry whoever?
Right to own Guns WISELY?
Tax Fairness?
Liberty for ALL?
Government working for the people and vice versa?
Prosperity for ALL?
An AMERICA without SCORN along racial lines?
Respect for each other as AMERICANS?
Taking care of our wounded SOLDIERS after war?
?????????????????????????????????????

I find it very interesting that some polls find that Obama is losing the white vote by 25% and some polls find that he is losing the white vote by about 16%. If he is losing the white vote by 25%, how is it that he is ahead in Iowa, Minnesota, Colorado, Maine, N.H., and Rhode Island? The truth is that in well educated states Obama is doing just fine with the white vote. He will only lose the white vote by more than twenty percent if racism raises its ugly head in the South and in the states where ignorance runs rampant. You know, the same states where the federal government pays those states to stay afloat year after year, but the stupid voters lap up that blather about the "evil" federal government.
Some states you could early vote BEFORE THE DEBATES a month ahead of time. Your point?????
Yes please do vote but vote for the best man not his skin color. 92% vs 8% for blacks voting that is racial voting at its best.
Obama buying votes One Food Stamp at a time or is that one free phone at a time ?
ACORN anyone??? , and your Ms Redhead are against voter ID hummm little hypocritical there?

2010 & 2011 - no budget
2012 Obama Budget Senate voted down 97-0 not one DEM voted for it.
2013 Obama Budget Senate 99-0 and House 414-0
PLEASE VOTE !!!!!!! put in a business man who can get things done. If the DEMs won't vote for Obama & his failed attempts at budgets and leading this country, then why should you??
O = EPIC FAIL
Excellently delivered Joanne! I couldn't agree more!
4 more for 44!
Obama/Biden 2012 Forward!
Sarah-3043284, I will not attempt to win you over if you haven't made up your mind. I'd suggest you do a little digging somewhere away from this forum, where you'll find hyperbole on both sides. Read my post again and it will tell you what the debate is about. If you think a bigger federal government is necessary to steer the economy, then vote for Obama. If you believe that free men and free markets do a better job, then vote for Romney.
Like so many others who won't admit it, I'm voting for BO because he is black. No other reason.
JH
My health insurance premiums haven't gone up as much in the past 3 years as they did 10 years ago. Health insurance companies raise their prices to maintain their profit margins. Bad debt costs add $1000 per year to every insured family's annual insurance premiums. People without health insurance continue to receive treatment. We do not let them die in the street, but treat them in expensive emergency rooms. We pay for them one way or another.
I'd rather pay for their care with subsidized health insurance since they will get more preventative care which lowers health care costs.
Some health insurance salespeople continue to blame Obamacare for rate increases, but do they tell the truth? On what did they blame health insurance increases of 10 years ago? Rising costs of health care. Not much has changed in 10 years. Costs of health care continue to rise, but Obamacare will lower future costs of health care by treating people before their condition becomes an expensive emergency and possibly life threatening condition.
OBAMA 2012....for a fairer and better future for Americans.
How could anyone possibly vote for a person who blatantly lies about jobs being shipped to China in order to try to scare people into voting for him?
I mean, seriously!
Who would reward someone for trying to deceive people into voting for him?
What blather this media and the Democrat party projects. Turnout and racial composition? They mean, hopefully there will be enough votes for Obama, but if not then it was discriminatory. Race. It must be race! Race is the 'great guilt' and division they pump out to Americans. That will be their 'out' for an Obama loss. It has been the greatest source to promote division which they've shoved down everyone's throats since Obama's campaign called Clinton 'racist' - then on to anyone who spoke against Obama. Race is the buzzword of the Obama administration because they put it into play at every opportunity, yet he has done nothing to help that contrived and deprived Democrat black voting bloc. The photo in this article is accurate - Obama is fading into the background, but will the driving rhetoric on 'race'? Not on your life. Race defines the Democrat hold on people of color. They'll put you back in chains, they'll take away your voting rights, they'll do away with the Martin Luther King holiday! Those are all statements the Democrats have made to intimidate and manipulate blacks. But the Democrat manipulation of Americans of african descent is slipping, because Democrats have done nothing to improve their plight while demanding complete ownership of their votes - or else. And turnout? Of course with an Obama loss, it would HAVE to be because of some fraud. With a Romney win, the answer has to be that the other party simply was better at deception than they were, and with that they cannot 'contend'.
This election has always been about voting your own self interests. Be smart enough to do that.
IF you are a multimillionaire who thinks that avoiding taxation is more important than helping anyone else, or even your own country to pay for wars, that you supported, then vote Republican. Also vote Republican if you have no empathy, and/or if you just like to glob on to multimillionaires hoping (mistakenly) that some of their money will rub off on you.
If you are not described above, vote Democratic as if your life depended on it, because it does....
Wow.... the poverty pimps have sold their story and the lefty's have bought it hook, line and SINKER.
You should be voting for what is best for the country not with your hand out. "ask not what your country can do for you but what you can do for your country".
Independent thought
I liked your long post on Romney but you did not mention that Mitt and Ann were living in a basement of a Friends home while he was attending Harvard and that they used boxes for furniture and the ironing board as a dining table. All because he donated his inheritance and wanted to make it on his own- what a humble guy.
You also didn't mention Obama and his relationships with Bill Ayers,Goerge Soros,David axelrod, and the Agenda. If voters took the responsibility and researched the candidates, these relationships and the meetings to push the agenda would be a decisive landslide for Romney.
Of course the communist media not covering the Benghazi lies and cover up should be more that enough for a no Bama vote if the media would do their job.
The liberals are so dramatic today "vote Democratic as if your life depended on it, because it does".....
Is the sky falling too chicken little?
I also like all of the preemptive excuses for Obama losing. This logic is messed up.....Obama will win because he is soooooo great, but if he loses, those evil Republicans stole the darn election. You people are a joke, and getting funnier every day.
@ Richard-3165941,
She also wrote: "I think he is patriotic and loves his country" But what she forgot to mention is he ran off to France during the Vietnam War! In my book he's a coward and will never deserve to be a President or a Leader, not even of the Boy Scouts. Look at his kids and you will see more cowards, none of them will fight for this country. The whole family is nothing but a pus bucket leaching off of hard working Americans. As for kissing your @ss sir, try pulling your head out of it!
It's really down to two simple choices -
The rule of law, the constitution and the ideals of the Democaratic Republic our forefathers started.
Socialism, anti-colonialism, tyranny and oppression.
But hey, either way... history will judge you.
Hopefully by the time the rich white guys figure out that minorities need to be dealt with in this country as equal American citizens with voting rights- they will have become less intolerant and a little more respectful of others.
The Progressives are in PANIC MODE. That is why Mr. Obama sent his wife out on ONE HUNDRED AND NINETY ONE campaign tours as of 11/4/2012. Of course that number will be going up.
I wonder who picked up the tab for the transportation ?
The more FLOTUS is away from the White House, the taxpayers will save money on NOT HAVING to pay for those Wednesday night parties.
I do remember Obama saying the private sector is doing fine, not to worry about them. Does this mean that only those who work in government get public help and support, and if you work in the private industry, tough luck, BUT DON'T FORGET TO PAY YOUR TAXES???
Look at all the willing sheep being led to slaughter.. I am thinking Obama will crash this country in about 2 years or less if reelected so lets hope you are ready..

Well sir, i'm guessing you've never tried having anything manufactured here in the good ole USA huh ? First thing tell ya is its way cheaper to make in China.... Well hell ya its cheaper to produce over there when you can get 3.8 employees for the price of one here....
Republicans are patriotic that been sending your jobs overseas since the mid 70's and this common place in the mid 80's to now.... Correct me if wrong, but the only real American made vehicle you buy today ia a Hummer.... Another statistic of the success of the current administration at navigating the pitfalls of the economy through their use of policy and budget.
"The rate of increase in suicides has quadrupled since the recession began, the report found. From 1997 to 2007, the rate of increase in suicides was 0.12 per 100,000 people, but from 2008 to 2010 it jumped to 0.51 per 100,000 people.
The report will be published online Nov. 5 in the journal The Lancet, just one day before American voters head to the polls to elect a new leader for the coming four years."
www.healthyliving.msn.com/health-wellness/suicides-up-in-sagging-us-economy-1
I wonder what the rate will be if the country has to endure four more years of no leadership, no budget, and "forward" over the fiscal cliff?
I was just working for a man this morning who owns a company with about 150 part-time employees and he has been unable to get any straight answers as to the cost of the ACA mandate to his company. He fears that in January if the President is re-elected he will be forced into bankruptcy since no one in the government can advise him as to the impact of the impending law. These and other issues are keeping business on the sidelines because they have no way to plan for a law that "was passed to find out what is inside". This displays again the lack of leadership from the Congress to the President in the last four years. Such a disgrace to America. Such an affront to freedom, liberty, and the American way of life.
He needs to talk to a Tax Attorney, like I had my two businesses managers at two States do. The ACA Penalties are Taxes by the IRS and not as Fines, per US Supreme Court Ruling.

That he blames on President Bush as "inherited" when Bush did not eliminate those US Laws.
WHY DID PRESIDENT OBAMA SPEND $2.1 TRILLION THAT WAS NOT PREVIOUSLY BUDGETED FOR, REQUIRING THE CURRENT CUTS TO PREVIOUSLY BUDGET PROGRAMS, PROJECTS, AGENCIES, INCLUDING THE ENTITLEMENTS, BENEFITS FOR THE "47%" THAT NEED THESE BENEFITS AND ENTITLEMENTS. PRESIDENT OBAMA'S PRESIDENT'S PROPOSAL TO US CONGRESS DEMANDING CUTS.
WHY DID PRESIDENT OBAMA AND SECRETARY OF DEFENSE LEON PENETTA, 2012, STATE, "A 10% Defense Budget Cut will result in a Million (US) Civilians becoming Unemployed". Yet President Obama in his President's Proposal to US Congress demand a Defense Budget Cut of 11%.
WHAT US LAW DID PRESIDENT OBAMA VIOLATE THAT IS ONLY APPLICABLE TO THE US PRESIDENT. AN IMPEACHABLE OFFENSE. As an admittance of Guilt SOS Clinton on Behalf of President Obama appologized to US Congress, "I'm sorry".
WHY DID PRESIDENT OBAMA DEMAND THE OVERTHROW OF A FORMER US ALLY AND SUPPORTED THE FUNDAMENTALIST ISLAMIC JIHADISTS TO OVERTHROW THE FORMER US ALLY. Al Quada Saudi Arabia (AQ), Al Quada Islamic Maghreb (AQIM), Al Quada Syria (AQS), Al Quada Yemen (AQY), Hezbollah, Al Quada Arabian Peninsula (AQAP), the Libyan Islamic Fighting Group (LIFG), etc. that became Ansar Al Sharia to protect and instate Fundamentalist Islamic Shia (Sharia) Law as the Rule of Law for Libya. Now Ansar Al Sharia is attacking the rest of Africa, like Mali, as Egypt was Strategic to attack Libya, Libya is Strategic to attack the rest of Africa.
The Libyan Islamic Fighting Group was killing US Military at Iraq. The Libyan Islamic Fighting Group due to President Obama is the current Government of Libya.
WHY IS PRESIDENT OBAMA LYING ABOUT WITHDRAWING FROM IRAQ. WHEN IN FACT THE FUNDAMENTALIST ISLAMIC SHIA REPUBLIC OF IRAN HAD THE US KICKED OUT OF THE ISLAMIC SHIA NATION OF IRAQ. Result now the Chinese and Russian Federation Allies of the Fundamentalist Islamic Shia Republic of Iran got the Iraqis Oil that could have paid for the US And US Allies Liberation of Iraq with Decades to Centuries of Iraqis Oil. This made Libya's Oil of Strategic Importance to the US Europrean Allies.
WHY IS PRESIDENT OBAMA LYING ABOUT THE US MILITARY WITHDRAWAL FROM IRAQ. Numbers of Actual US Military still at Iraq.
WHY IS PRESIDENT OBAMA LYING ABOUT THE US INVOLVEMENT AT SYRIA.
WHY IS PRESIDENT OBAMA TAKING CREDIT FOR SOMETHING THAT WAS PREPLANNED LONG AGO AFTER PRESIDENT BUSH AMMENDED THE US NO ASSASSINATION POLICY, 2006, TO ALLOW THE TERMINATION OF OSAMA BIN LADEN. With the Mission to Locate and Capture Osama Bin Laden already put into motion since 2006. And failing Capture to gain all of Osama Bin Laden's planning and thought processes as imprinted on his Al Quada, to preemptively interdict all Al Quada International Francishes activities Worldwide. Failing Capture of this "High Valued Target" as the Last Resort the Termination of Osama Bin Laden, as a Mission Failure. President Obama just happened to be in Office while the CIA, Special Operations Command, Joint Special Operations Command was doing the above since 2006.
WHY DID PRESIDENT OBAMA IN HIS 2012 STATE OF THE UNION ADDRESS BACKPEDDAL ON HIS APRIL 2009 ORDERED DEFENSE BUDGET CUT OF THE USN (One Aircraft Carrier Strike Group). And why did he tell the US Public a Half Truth (actually a lie) that the USN Enterprise Aircraft Carrier will be decommissioned and scrapped after the current mission, long before the replacement CVN-80 is ready to replace CVN-65, if sea trials are successful 2015.
WHY DID PRESIDENT OBAMA BACKPEDAL ON HIS OPPOSITION TO THE PRESIDENT BUSH US ABM MISSILES AT EASTERN EUROPE AGAINST THE IRANIAN MISSILE THREAT. President Obama stated there was no Iranian Missile Threat. December 2011 President Obama as Commander In Chief Ordered the deployment of US Military ABM Missile Batteries to Romania.
WHY IS PRESIDENT OBAMA ELIMINATING US CITIZENS CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHTS.

WHY WAS PRESIDENT OBAMA NEVER CONVICTED FOR VIOLATING THE US LAW, McCain Feingold Bipartisan Campaign Reform Act, prior to and during the 2008-2009 Elections. And his Buddy, "Mr. Corporate America" admitted that President Obama did while getting the US Supreme Court to Rule in Favor of the Unlimited Corporate Campaign Contributions before the Citizens United case made it's way thru the US Courts; so that President Obama could get his Unlimited Corporate Campaign Contributions from the Insurance Corporations, Medical Device Corporations, and Pharmaceuticals Corporations.
WHY DID PRESIDENT OBAMA CHOP THE PAYMENTS TO CAREGIVERS TO SENIOR CITIZENS UNDER MEDICARE, AND DECREASE MEDICARE PAYMENTS TO MEDICAL PROFESSIONALS. Instead of what he stated was the REAL Problem with Medicare, during his Face the Nation Interview, that the Insurance Corporations that manage Medicare are overcharging US Taxpayers by 14% to make Profits of $17 Billion to $18 Billion per year.

Today's battleground analysis based on data taken from the aggregator sites. Remember, my analysis is not based on the average of leads a candidate has in the polls, but on a trendline based on the number of polls that has a given candidate with the lead in a state versus the number of polls that has the opposing candidate with a lead. If a candidate has a lead in every poll taken in the state or the opponent has a lead in none of them, the poll is listed as All (candidate).
Colorado: O+3, O+2, R+3, O+2, R+1, Verdict: Obama (+9)
Florida: R+5, O+1, R+6, O+2, R+1, R+3, R+1, T, O+1, R+2, R+5, Verdict: Romney (+29)
Iowa: O+2, O+5, O+4, R+1, O+2, O+6, Verdict: Obama (+6)
Michigan: R+1, O+6, O+5, O+3, O+6, Verdict: Obama (+16)
Nevada: All O, Verdict: Obama (+6)
New Hampshire: O+2, O+3, O+1, O+6, O+2, R+2, Verdict: Obama (+4)
North Carolina: All R, Verdict: Romney (+15)
Ohio: All O, Verdict: Obama (+18)
Pennsylvania: All O, Verdict: Obama (+20)
Virginia: O+1, O+4, O+1, T, O+2, R+5, R+2, T, O+4, R+2, Verdict: Obama (+13)
Wisconsin: All O, Verdict: Obama (+10)
Changes: Virginia moves to Obama, Michigan no longer All O
Electoral College:
Romney: 191+29+15= 235
Obama: 201+9+6+16+6+4+18+20+13+10= 303
Analysis: There were quite a few polls added to RCP over the weekend with the president averaging a lead in 16 of them, Romney leading in 4, (3 of which were in Florida or North Carolina, which I've already placed in his column, and 1 in Michigan), and 3 ties. So if we just go by the polling added to RCP, in the battlegrounds, the president had a lead in 70% of the polls taken over the weekend, Romney a lead in 17% of them, (with only 4% in a state that actually matters at this point), and 13% tied.
Of course, RCP's picture is, as usual, incomplete. To get a fuller picture, one would have to pull all of the polling from all of the sites that list them. For example, since the Michigan poll with the lead for Romney at RCP is listed as the most recent there, one might conclude that the Michigan race is very tight, however, if you go to the 538 site, you observe that during the same period as the Baydoun poll that listed Romney with the 1 point lead, 4 other polls were published, listing leads for the president of +6, +7, +7, and +5, so the probability is that the Baydoun poll is an outlier is far higher than that the race in Michigan has closed. Another example is in Virginia. Both RCP and 538 list the 10/26/12 Roanoake poll as the last poll in which Governor Romney had a lead, but they paint very different pictures of the race in Virginia.
RCP only lists 3 polls with an Obama lead since that poll. 538, on the other hand, lists 12 straight polls with an Obama lead. On that level, there is a lot more of a consensus that the lead for Obama is real there than if you simply rely on RCP. It appears as though my analysis has been trailing the general consensus, but that is mainly because throughout this process, I have been using RCP's list as the foundation for the analysis. RCP typically also lags because they exclude so many polls favorable to the president. At this point, my electoral count is generally in-line with other aggregators like Nate Silver.
At this point, the only real hope for Governor Romney is that the battleground state level polls taken during the last week of the race almost all have a major statistical bias in favor of the president. The likelihood of that is slim. Yes, there have been major swings in the last two days of races in the past and there have been races that have occasionally disagreed with some of the polling, but polling methods have become very sophisticated in recent years and there are a lot more organizations doing the polling.
When all of the polling crystallizes around a given result, generally that is the result you are going to see.
Michael: Excellent post! Your facts and assumptions are spot-on
Good one, Michael.
Michael, thanks for the update. Except for a couple checks of 538.com, I spent my weekend in the Organizing for America, and Obama GOTV bubble; am headed there again soon and tomorrow.
Michael,
Thank you for all your work. It means a lot that someone here is taking another look on our behalf.
Thanks again.
One more day brain dead obamabots then obama enters lame duck status and y'all can go on vacation.
I haven't read all of the comments, so maybe this has already been answered by someone. WHICH of Romney's many homes is he declaring as his principle residence from where he is registered to vote? Has he cast his ballot yet? Or is he trying to cast one in each state where he has a home (or supposed residence)? He's ending his campaign in NH, where he has a home as the story says. But is his home in CA where he spends at least 183 days residing each year? That is supposed to be the basis for declaring your primary residence for voter registration (as well as filing taxes, etc.)
I am good with a lame duck session for 2 years, then we can get rid of the teaparty taliban and move this country forward in the following 6 to 10 years. At that point I should be able to retire and look forward to sunny days with a devastated teaparty and a puke party in rebuilding form.
Michael,
Thank you for the information and the excellent disection.
I believe the lame stream media has a vested interest in projecting a tight race. I believe the actual results will be more in line with a walk off home run for President Obama.
big -- appears you are an admirer of the impeached president, a "convicted liar" and an habitual sexual harasser.
and then you talk about your fellow Americans with such disdain. with an idol like slick willie it all makes sense.
Apparently, Romney is casting his vote tomorrow, on election day, in Belmont, Mass. From the local newspaper:
http://www.wickedlocal.com/belmont/newsnow/x1292874494/Mitt-Romney-to-cast-his-vote-at-the-Beech-Street-Center-on-Tuesday-Nov-6#axzz29OT2s4gI
And how can he do that when his CA home is supposedly his primary residence, right? Another of the lying, cheating things about his character.
Check out this link for the confusing answer to that question:
http://www.dailykos.com/story/2012/08/17/1121401/-VOTER-FRAUD-UNMASKED-And-um-it-s-Mitt-Romney-committing-it
Per this article, you have to wonder how many different driver's licenses he has...one for every state where he owns a home??? Whatever address is on the license he presents needs to be verified as his valid place of primary residence (183 days.) My ID does NOT have my valid address because we renew our VI license every five years. I'm not going to pay the high fee to have a new one just because I have a different address (USPS has changed the official address three times in three years, all for the same property.)
“Mitt Romney the GOP candidate who violated federal ethics laws will be the first Presidential candidate to be charged before an election for President.”
politicolnews.com/romney-charged-with-ethics-violations-before-the-election/#ixzz2BN9Xgiaz
And this is the man you want for president!!!!!
You got that right Kim. Too bad the charges didn't get filed months ago, instead of the day before the elections.
"And this is the man you want for president!!!!!"
I assume you meant to end that sentence as a question"?"?
If so, then the answer is yes. Even with all his flaws he's still better than the garbage that got voted in last time.
Anti-Trust, why can't Obama cast in vote in the District of Columbia? Isn't that his main residence now?
From Illumination - "Conservatives are nothing but traitors who will sell out their fellow Americans to make themselves richer." - I am a conservative and I served 8 years in the United States Army and take great offense to your generalization that conservatives are traitors. I am not rich, but I do care about the state of this nation's economy and unemployment and I feel that Obama has not done enough to address these concerns that I have. For you to make such a gross generalization about a large group of people like this would be like me saying that all democrats are minorities that are on unemployment and welfare, are lazy and want to take the wealthy's money so that they don't ever have to get a job and they can live off of the government. I don't believe that to be true either because I know and work with successful democrats. Both statements are equally ridiculous.
billyboob,
what are you trying to say?
Only a Zomney would ever vote republican again, they failed miserably durring the 28 years they held office....
I think the newer guy deserves a chance.... He hasn't done any worst than the republicans....
Let me help you out bigdogg,
Bill Clinton was suspended from practicing law in Arkansas and paid a $250,000 fine as a result of the Monica Lewinski incident.
He also paid a $850,000 settlement over the Paula Jones incident.
He was also disbarred from practicing law in front of the Supreme Court.
So Bill Clinton, a disbarred lawyer, a President who was impeached for lying under oath, is asking the American people to believe him when he says the best thing for the country is four more years of
Obama.
I think that might clear it up for you.
Warthog,
The state of the economy is directly traceable to individuals who think governance is a blank check to them personally. The Congress and the President have done nothing to reverse the trend and in fact the Democrats were in total control of the Congress for two years prior to the recession. So they were either the cause or were to inept to prevent the current out come. Neither situation is a ringing endorsement for the party.
Today another shocking statistic shows the result of running up a deficit and crashing the economy.
You see the economy is a matter of life and death to those living on the margins.
Notsosure,
not an issue. President Clinton hurt no one but his family and himself.
Romney bankrupted people, threw them off their healthcare policies, and shipped their jobs overseas so he could pocket more wealth.
Mitt the Twit is an azzhole in my book. I don't vote for azzholes.
President Obama is a decent man, a good man, a respected man.
Let me put it this way for YA
I am proud of President Obama, I bet you can't say you are proud of Mitt the Twit, the war mongering, draft dodging azzhole.
This race doesn't have a clear winner, that is why it is so close. How many people are just settling?I suggest that you take the isidewith.org quiz to see who you actually side with. It might surprise you.We need to look beyond our two party system and its us against them attitude! If you truly feel that you are settling, vote for the individual you actually prefer. We need to not waste our votes on people we do not want in office! See this video you don't need to vote for that candidate, just his idea of making third parties viable. Please vote for who you really want in office and send the message we are tired of OUR current situation! No more US against THEM, make it OUR government.
bigdogg,
Bill Clinton was a lousy governor; and how he ever won the state of Arkansas in the presidential elections is beyond me. If it's moving, tax it - that's the motto of the Dems. Our illustrious former governor helped initiate the used-car tax, which would seem to be somewhat of an oppression of the poor, wouldn't you think? Prior to that glorious piece of legislation, there was no sale-tax on used cars.
Since personal integrity doesn't matter to you whatsoever, it's not surprising at all that you should see nothing wrong with the current president leaving the 4 Americans in Benghazi left alone to fend for themselves and die.
So, what kind of "Traits" do you see as important since integrity, honesty, fidelity, or truth don't matter, dog?
It has oft been asked why I post here, that I as a non-American (Alien Alert) have no skin to barter … the task of answering would take me to the door of another time and beyond as the reasons for me lie within the vast American brashness and the creativity it spawns, but there is also a quiet America, a song and a place that stands still and sheds time from memory connecting the muddles of myth and history to a simple truth … a truth that we all know and yet too often ignore and thus cut the bind that ties us.

Now back to the murky eyes of cold ideology. The overly attributed Black Swan as usual has been hanging out with unicorns and Elvis in Xanadu, Florida continues to slip into third world voting status proving once again that there are not enough wide-eyed Canadians in State to trumpet calls for International shame, and folks, the bun is in the oven and we will not know what this cycle’s secret ingredient is until sometime tomorrow evening. The curling analogy might be that the Democrats have three rocks in the house and two guards out front with Republicans having the last stone.
Princeton has held firm over night, but it is unclear if they have crunched today’s poll releases. There are a handful of small State polls that could possibly still report but the major fellows are done. IMO, if these numbers are to hold it will require a stellar ground game performance.
Obama 305
Romney 233
BCWC 0 and steady as she goes
My prescription to Dems on this board is to turn off the sound when either Todd or Gregory are yapping, even FOX would be more settling on the stomach.
Of interest regarding polls-
huffingtonpost.com/eric-zuesse/revolutionary-study-shows_b_2074356.html?utm_hp_ref=tw
BCWC,
The GOP are indeed looking for the Black Swan to arrive on the waters sailing into the harbor.
As of today no sighting.
Tomorrow it will be a great day for all citizens who have already voted and those going to the polls.
Voting is a right, nothing partisan about it.
Florida is telling it residents that it is an endurance contest which makes no sense to me.
Remember the cliches will be out in force toady and tomorrow till the bewitching hour late Tuesday.
the people will have the last word.
BCWC -
I protest! "BCWC 0"? Not in this lifetime! We're grateful for your perspective, your wisdom, your humor, and your analysis (Princeton has been a refreshing change). And by the way, we don't expect to go without them for a moment longer than necessary, so good luck tomorrow and hurry back soon. I expect that by some point tomorrow night, a lot of us will be envying you the anesthesia.
As Tomas Grnade would say.....Salud!
And yes, steady as she goes.
Florida's Rick Scott should be in jail. Hopefully, that day will come soon.
Of note is that Michael Thompson, Charlotte, NC numbers are matching.
BCWC, well said. Good thoughts for you and to you for tomorrow.
YES! ... My date with the knife has been bumped down the road for a couple of weeks.
No, kittykat, you're a class act 10
The polls all narrow for weeks before election, Daffy Duck would get a bump one month before the election. And the news agencies all tell you that it is a close race - so you must watch every second of them to stay informed. Can you imagine an opinion/news outlet telling you to turn off the tv, the race is over???
Now for the election - vote. Everyone vote. Vote Dem, Vote Republican.
Let no one tell you your un-American
Let no one tell you your not a Christian
Let no one tell you your un-educated,
You have a right to vote for whomever you want.
And when the election is over - remember your neighbor, whether they are Dem or Rep, is still your neighbor, and if you are really Christians, you have a responsibility to love your neighbor as you love yourself.
Or if you prefer a moral philosophy - you have a moral responsiblitiy to act towards others as you would want them to act towards you.
Yes do vote and get all of your family members, friends, and neighbors to do the same...even if you cast a NONE OF THE ABOVE/NO VOTE vote (Nevada/US Virgin Islands options). Don't let anyone deny you your right AND RESPONSIBILITY to cast a vote in this critical election this year...not just the presidential, but every other office that is on the ballot, along with any special issues (taxes, constitutional amendments, etc.) Remember also that the SCOTUS is an important (very important) hidden factor in this year's election. IF you want an even more conservative court, then vote for R/R. If you want a more balanced court, then O/B is the only choice to make.
Anti Trust.
Yes get out the vote but we as Americans also have the responsibility to know the candidates backgrounds and their ideologies.
Not vote by flipping a coin, voting the lesser of two evils, or vote based on the rhetoric and lies by the media or political ads. voting by these methods is irresponsible and is how many Americans vote.
We have the right to vote and vote responsibly
That is why I included the NONE OF THE ABOVE/NO VOTE options. And it is also why I have been a strong supporter of the Popular Amendment Movement's (www.faircampaignreform.us) attempt to get the Election/Campaign Finance Reform and Term Limits Constitutional Amendments passed. Have any of you gotten involved yet? It's not to late to accomplish this in time for 2014/16. All politicians are liars when you get right down to it, and that is why the ECFR amendment includes the requirement of the Contract with the Voters.

If a gay/lesbian person lives/works/pays taxes in America then they are citizen.... And to say its against the law for them to marry or to be gay/lesbian is a gross violation of their rights....
Probably be another 50 years before this country fully recognizes this too.... Funny how all the old farts/bats gotta die off before people come accept facts like these....
Vote for President Obama because the middle class depends on it!
chris,
Do you have any idea of just what the "guest worker" program is and who is for it? Well your wonderful "leader" is for it.
The issue with the guest worker program and obama is displacement of American workers with foreign workers. (Read YOU'RE OUT OF A JOB.) Your obama wants MORE foreign workers to be given a chance at the American dream while kicking the American worker in the balls. Not so? Well take a close look at mircosoft, then get back to me about reality.
Obama, and democrats in general, need the middle class to remain dependent on government handouts, so that their votes can be easily purchased. A prosperous middle-class would be far less controllable.
As Biden said: "The middle class has been buried the past 4 years."
We have been buried thanks to the do nothing congress and the out sourcing Mitt. The face of change is not that of Mitt Romney. Mitt Romney makes George Bush look good. If Mitt Romney gets in the voice of the middle class will be buried so deep that we will think we are in the middle ages.Mitt Romney has only one thing in mind and that is the 1% and how to give them more money off the backs of the middle class.
....just another over dramatic liberal. Man, these people are going to be crushed if Romney wins.
VOTE FOR OBAMA the middle class depends on the gov't
Are the middle class ie people making between 40 -80K per year qualified for food stamps?? NO
So 32 million poor on food stamps in 2009 now its 47 million
VOTE FOR OBAMA so you can be poor and get free food too.
Liberals are sad and pathetic bunch of socialists.
15 million less middle class under Obama

Well I reckon we are almost to that time that we have all anticipated for so long.
Election Day.
The Large Lady is rehearsing in the wings. When I think of Large Ladies singing I always think of the lovely Kate Smith singing “God Bless America” so many years at the Flyers games BTW.
Every vote I have cast over the last forty some odd years stands as a frozen moment in time. It is the one day of the year that we all Prince or Pauper stand equal. The one day of the year that we can do honor to the sacrifices that all that have come before us have made to give us and to retain that right.
One Man/Women One Vote.
Hopin’ that when you get the chance that some of you’ll won’t be played for the Sucker that Ol’ Willard thinks you are. But regardless show up and cast it and let’s see what happens
Congrats Mr. Montanaro and Family. Glad I was able to stick around for the second one. Youth and the folks that bring them into the world are an unrepentant hope for a better tomorrow for all and a joy to thier parents forever.
IR -
I don't play poker. Never have. Just not the gambling type, which is just one more reason why I'll be voting for President Obama again tomorrow.
But as a once die-hard Flyers season ticket holder who was lucky enough to be there at the old Spectrum back in 1975 to hear Kate Smith sing "God Bless America" before we beat the Islanders and won our second Stanley Cup in a row, I have to say that was another moment frozen in time. The electricity almost overwhelmed you the moment you walked in the building and just kept building as we sung our hearts out through that final note. Kind of like the electricity I already feel this morning as the anticipation of our own second consecutive win begins to crescendo.
And I'm reminded of another song that was getting a lot of radio time in Philly back then - and the group was "America", wasn't it? Which makes it another good choice to spin on the old DDI jukebox as we get the watch-till-you-drop Election Day party started:
"Don't give up until you drink from the silver cup
And never take you down or never give you up
You never know until you try....."
And my congratulations to the Montenaro family, too! I'll bet someday Daddy's Little Girl will be begging for just one more story about the week she was born. Hope you all get some well-deserved rest after tomorrow!
IR, well said. I remember Kate Smith singing "God Bless America" on TV before I ever started kindergarten.
IR -- You wrote:
Well said. I'm hopin' too!
JoAnne and Jody. I was never a Flyers fan but always a fan of the Great Kate. She could bring it. My thanks and appreciattion to the both of you'll who can always say it better than an Old Redneck ever could. Joanne Good song for the DDI. You'll go ahead and set things up and the Old Caretaker will work on setting up a double shift for the Trachoe crews to clean up all the Yahoo poop from the front door so we can keep the place open.
Jody,
I remember Obama, sitting silently in the front row, while his pastor and Godfather to his children, yelled, "God damn America?" Sad thing is, he never even covered his sweet girls ears.
Romney/Ryan 2012
Independent Thought, no, you don't remember squat because you were not there and neither was President Obama and his family that day. No wonder Mitt's your guy, you are as big a whopper teller as Romney is.
Independent Thought-
Yet you are okay with Romney giving a speech at Liberty University, founded by Jerry Falwell?
Do you remember what Jerry Falwell and Pat Robertsen said about the deaths of thousands of Americans on 9/11?
Rev. Wright said "God damn America" in the context of the treatment of Black Americans:
So which set of statements is more un-American and controversial? Denouncing the Government's imprisonment and treatment of Black Americans; or claiming 9/11 was God's way of punishing America for atheists, supporters of pro-choice, feminists, gays, lesbians and the ACLU?
I know which one I would choose. Romney agrees with the divisive views of Falwell and the Religous Right, even though it was not that long ago they considered Mormonism a Cult.
Thank you TNSEVOL for putting the queitus on Ol' Nonthought up there. NonThought you just don't know how tired I am of Teleprompters, Bengazi and the Reverend Wright. What it comes down to is you like many others of our Yahoo brethern have a serious case of Obama Derangement Syndrome. Come on back come Wenesday or Thursday and lets see if you can get over it and hold a coherant thought in that little pea brain of yours. Or Not your choice. Personally given the level of what you got to say and the level of thought that you seem to put in it don't make no nevermine to me one way or the other.
Jody and TENSVOL:
Obama and family sat in the pews of that angry man for 20 years, Wright performed their wedding ceremony, and is the God father of Obama's girls.
Romney, did not sit silently in the pews of someone that hates America!!!! Nope, you can't even say that about Mormons. Who by the way, most American's could take lessons from, when it comes to kindness!
Romney/Ryan 2012
TNSEVOL-
THE best rebuttle to that lame RW media talking point I have ever seen!!!
Amazing, when it's put into context, isn't it?
Salud
Independent Thought-
The Bill of Rights and the Constitution covers it all.
As TNSEVOL clearly showa in the ENTIRE quote from the Reverend, the hypocracy pointed out by the Reverend is what was going on there.
The Reverend was absolutely right (no pun intended).
It's as American as Apple Pie to express your grievances against the government.
Isn't this what the Tea Party PROUDLY proclaims they stand for?
Give it a rest.
If you don't like what the Reverend said, that's YOUR right.
If think the Reverend was un-American, then YOU are flat out wrong.
Go back and read American history and the Constitution.
Salud
Thomas, yet you in one comment support one type of speech, then lambast another. Why?
@IR VA. #6: I once thought that too. Found out though, sometimes, depending on the ante, the cheat will hide His wife under the table, and if She's good enough, the chosen sucker doesn't care until He's broke. Regards
Face it people. Be HONEST and let go of the P.C. for a minute. If Obama were a white man, he would not stand a snowball's chance in Hell of being reelected. The libs use his color like a weapon to excuse him from every disaster and damage he has caused. Everyone else has to back away, walk on eggshells or be accused of racism. While MOST white people DON'T care what color he or anyone else is, sad to say that for MOST blacks, that IS all they see...color. They even turn against others of their race who ONLY and fairly judge him on his character and performance. Obama has failed his own people miserably, so color MUST be the ONLY reason they still support him. I'm just telling it like it IS. And even the most casual observer knows that is true.
@Aggie-345886#6.15:The only color I am concerned with is the "yellow backed, greedy, republican Hogs". Very irresponsible and dimwitted proposition you are offering. By "casual observer" do you mean the mentally ill, or, chronic drunks, or both?
Mac Forrester:
I'm saying it's as plain as the nose on your face. I'm not offering a "proposition" I'm stating a fact. Ever watch Jay Leno's people on the street? They don't a CLUE as to any policies, but they will vote for Obama because they and he are black. Same with several interviews I've seen from various places, by various journalists. Howard Stern did a piece on some of his people interviewing Obama voters....same thing. Not one iota of what he stands for, just what he looks like. Please note: In my original post I stated that SOME people, both black and white, use race as their only barometer. SOME SOME SOME Call me "dimwitted", but you should learn how to read and discern. Or "observe".
I have been saying all along that this election parallels 2004, when an unpopular (that means an approval rating right around the 50% mark, not that nobody likes him) faces an uninspiring challenger, (usually from Massachusetts)
Kerry 2004 47.4
Romney 2012 47.4
The two challengers are polling identically in today's RCP averages.
George Will, Dick Morris and Michael Barone predict electoral landslide for the challenger. Of course, they all picked the incumbent 8 years ago.
Final pop vote was;
50.7-48.3 for the incumbent
(2004)296-242 projected(2012) 303-235
286-251 actual
The Parallels will hold. The incumbent will be reelected
The Dems will pick up 2-3 Senate seats
The Dems will add a handful of seats in the house...
that's the way I see it.
The bulb in Danger's attic seems to be always on ... so ditto.
The bulb is to scare off the bats in the proverbial belfry...
Take good care today. You will be in my thoughts tomorrow...
Just got a phone call, my surgery has been delayed for a couple of weeks so we will be swilling the same anesthetic.
Three cheers for socialized medicine!?!
Just make sure that call didn't come from one of the candidates!
Ever since you were endorsed by NOBODY, your Princeton EV numbers may be making the two distinguished gentlemen a little skittish...
So who have you chosen as a running mate for tomorrow night? I have distilled it down to;
Jack Daniel?
the Honorable Johnny Walker?
James Beam?
Jose Cuervo? (the Marco Rubio of bottled running mates)
Glen Fiddich? (Probably not a citizen but after shots...)
Mark Makers, or is that the other awy around...
Anyway, whoever you choose, I know they will be in a glass by themselves...

Darn socialized medicine. Here in the US, where we have superior care, my poor dead friend had cancer surgery postponed for 1.5 years while the insurance company haggled over whether it should be approved based upon a pre-existing condition. Of course, being dead, he can't really complain about our superior care. Anyho BCWC, good luck in a couple of weeks. At least you get to have the option of surgery, unlike the GOPTP in this country, who would rather you either go bankrupt or without.
I nominate that perennial also-ran.....Harvey Wallbanger. Not sure of his politics, I just like saying it.
RedDev I have heard equally anectdotal evidence of Socialized medicine and people dying in the UK because of it, or lack if it if you will.

Oops "though", not "thought".
We are Better Off Now than 4 Years Ago. Think of the 2008 economic collapse as Hurricane Sandy on a global scale. The global banking system lost its electrical grid and remained powerless for months; some banks and investment firms were totally destroyed or so damaged as to be rendered useless. Because no money was available from the private system, it was necessary for governments to step in to provide electrical power via generators to keep the global economy afloat in the rising waters of disaster. The first TARP vote, the majority of the GOP voted "NO"; over that weekend, Wall Street crashed. It took Wall Street crashing for the GOP to realize generators were needed for the economy.
Hank Paulsen, Bush's Treasury Secretary, relied on Candidate Obama to assist because, as was reported, McCain was economically clueless and Bush had pretty much left the building. When the Global Economic Hurricane began, Senator McCain put his campaign on hold and demanded President Bush hold a White House meeting with Senator Obama, himself, Paulsen, and other leaders--then McCain sat silent while Candidate Obama took charge and, in effect, became President by Proxy. Candidate Obama led the Nation in those early days even though he had yet to be elected President.
President Obama was an effective leader prior to being elected in Nov 2008 and during that first year in office as he and his administration worked tirelessly to get the economic power grid up and running again; he has been a steady, calm, and reassuring Commander in Chief. President Obama's government generators put the American Auto Industry back on track until the electrical grid began functioning again. That quick response to save this country's manufacturing icons, to save millions of auto-industry and auto-industry related jobs prevented the economic hurricane from causing irrepairable, permanent damage. Mitt Romney, on the other hand, would have denied giving Chrysler and GM the government generators because he claimed giving government money (generators) to the American auto industry meant we could kiss the industry goodbye. In other words, Mitt Romney's response to the Global Economic Hurricane would have been the equivalent of "heckofa job Brownie" and Bush's response to Hurricane Katrina.
Governor Christie praised President Obama repeatedly as an effective leader during last week's disaster. His praise landed him in hot water with republican mouthpieces who talk about compromise and working together but their very response to Christie proves that rigid ideology is more important than DOING WHAT IS RIGHT. Romney would have denied economic generators to Hoboken, Atlantic City, Staten Island and elsewhere in the east because he simply does not grasp that Government--when all else collapses around us--HAS a ROLE, HAS a RESPONSIBILITY to do whatever it takes regardless of cost, regardless of debt, regardless of ideology to help the people and to keep the power turned ON.
This great nation is better off now than it was four years ago. It is better off because of the leadership of President Barack Obama. We have moved FORWARD despite the obstruction of the GOP, despite their efforts to keep the country mired in the aftermath of an economic hurricane, stuck without an electrical power grid. During the 2008 economic crash, the GOP denied every effort of President Obama to provide government generators to We the People but through it all President Obama kept pushing, kept working and the results are clear. The auto industry is thriving, nearly 5 million new private sector jobs have been created, fewer people unemployed. The ride has been slow and bumpy thanks to the republican efforts to throw boulders on the road but recovery has been steady.
President Obama is a leader, he has led this country from the depths of a global economic hurricane to a slow but steady recovery. Governor Christie knows a leader when he meets one. Vote to re-elect President Barack Obama. Vote to keep the country moving FORWARD.
Obama isn't a leader , but an entertainer , leaders aren't liars, leaders care for their people, and leaders lead .
Obama is a failed president that has nothing worth while to run on Obamacrae largest tax on working America, 23 million unemployed, trillions blown on Green Energy, 2% GNP.,2 credit down grades, list goes on, Obummer is one of the worst presidents in last 50 years, Carter, Bush, and Obummer.
Gremlin edit fail, apologize for the errors, that should be "irreparable" to name one.
Don't forget Reagan.
Hi Jody,
Another Great Post! So many of these republicans are living in that bubble in which the facts can't get in.
4 More for 44
Well done Jody!!
What a waste of words. The only people that are better off are either dead or collecting food stamps. We are making less, our homes are worth less, the cost of everything is more, there are more unemployed, your children's future is shot with debt, we are no longer respected in the world. Need I go on? What do you people smoke?
Don't worry ole W. Bush is gone and we have President Obama to save us.
4 More for 44
Jody -- Wonderful post. I have so enjoyed reading your take on things throughout this past year.
Many thanks!
Obama/Biden 2012
Thanks, friends. I see the naybobs and re-regs still never post why they support Romney but spend all their time tossing out negative anti-Obama lies....which comes as no surprise because they support Mitt Romney, Whopper Liar Extraordinaire.
Two more days of GOTV at OFA; we're working hard in Iowa to re-elect President Obama and VP Biden. Looking good!!!!
Thanks for the reminder, Jody, that 4 years ago we were looking at the possibility of another Depression. President Obama rolled up his sleeves (even before taking office, as you note) and got to work getting us on the right path. The Republicans met on the night of his inauguration and plotted on how to limit the President to one term, not caring what they did to their fellow citizens.
P.S. Fedup---I've never had food stamps or any other benefit but I am WAY better off personally than I was four years ago. My business is having its best year ever, my husband just got a raise, our 401Ks higher than they were under Bush, I don't worry about pre-existing conditions for my insurance coverage and our rental properties are up in value. More important than that, though, is that the country is better off, too.
Jody
I have been a silent reader for over two years. I honestly have to confess that I learn so much from reading your post. Thank you.
Obama cares about the middle class. Romney tolerates the middle class and secretly disses the poor and all those who have been unfortunately affected by the Bush economy and unable to file taxes.
"Peace, Hope, Prosperity"- Pop Reggae Song for Obama (2008)
An original song for Barack Obama written by Singer-Songwriter Rachelle Cano of Hispanic origin from Los Angeles, CA. This song was recorded in a live session featuring bassist Phil Chen from the Bob Marley Band and Rod Stewart. Although it's four years later, we must continue to fight the fight for Equality for all Americans. No president during a single term could have totally alleviated the pain inflicted in the eight years under former President Bush.
If you want to stay on track and move FORWARD for continued Peace, Hope, and Prosperity for All Americans, vote OBAMA.
Jody, fantastic.
" Vote to keep the country moving FORWARD."
RomneyRyan want to take us back by giving depreciating vouchers to seniors, who will have no choice but to give more money to insurance companies - who will send us all backwards again.
If RomneyRyan get their way, we'll be in hand-to-hand combat with the health care sharks, even when we're very sick/too ancient to negotiate.
Ansomah, thank you for the kind words and for taking time to post today.
New on the block - I have been a silent reader for more than 4 years... I am a Christian, and a registered Democrat who will vote, again, for Obama – Just wanted to join voices with my fellow Dems - Shout out to all of the good soldiers who have been doing an excellent job educating the folks here (Ron from Indiana, Jody from Iowa, Feisty Red Head, Blackout, Bev, -even Dangerfield lol!)....Thank you for all you have done - I have learned a lot from your posts!!
1 more day and it's 4 more for 44!!! I truly believe that 2012 campaign will go down in history as a David and Goliath story…God Bless this great Country…
Much appreciated Itiah, Ansomah,
Stand with all of us.
Let's vote!
Rachel:
Who wrote that for you? Doesn't appear to be your words I see you are new to the blog and your comments have been the same words on three different blogs.
Smells fishy.

Itiah:
For clarification..
You're a plant. Good try. Not fooling anyone.
Romney/Ryan 2012
Independent Thought,
LOL. At first, I thought you were a plant by the Republicans "Rombies". Then, I read your posts. Clearly, you cannot articulate Conservative thought well enough to be a true Republican, so you must be an Obama "plant", just put into place to make the GOP look bad. Your spelling and grammar mistakes, referring to Governor Christie as "Christ" Christie, and all the other nonsense, would confirm that.
Rather than aiding the Democratic cause, by exhibiting your false ignorance of the issues, perhaps your talents would be best used in establishing a "birther" website, or a blog that attempts to prove the flatness of the earth's surface? Maybe you could be a Fox News expert? Now that you've been exposed, save us the dreary task of having to scroll past your nonsense to find facts and valid opinions of others. Thanks...
ItiahNY10920Pundint,
Thanks so much for the shout out!
I always appreciate hearing from "readers", makes it all worth while!
we will not know the outcome of the election for weeks. Especially if it is a Romney victory.
plsthink90,
Romney will win and we will know it before we go to bed tomorrow night. Enjoy!!
ummmm....I don't think so. President Obama will win the electoral and popular vote in a landslide!
sounds more like wishing than thinking to me...
LooLoo.ser,
If Florida or Virginia don't go Romney, the evening is over for Mitt. He MUST have those two states to have any reasonable chance to get to 270. Even at that, he has so many ways to lose. He's a loser...period.
When the GOP was running the other morons at us, they knew Mitt was a loser, but no one could crystalize enough support to knock him out. The GOP nomination was up for anybody that wasn't named Barack Obama. That so many potentially decent candidates sat this one out, is more about the spineless jellyfish they are, than how great Mitt was. The guy is untrustworthy because he stands for nothing and flip flops all over the place. Instead of at least being consistent, Mitt's consistently gutless.
The only thing he had going for him was that he had more money than anyone else. Republicans respect money, and understand that money can be used to buy principles. Decent people don't agree with that. And thank God that the decent people still outnumber Republicans in most parts of the country. George W. Bush is evidence of what happens when they do not.
Rightwingconspiracy,
If Romney wins...no one dares to sleep....
Oh how we look forward to the end of this election. The end of "Feisty Redhead's", poison spewing diatribe. The end of the extreme liberal’s voicing their individual ignorance. Liable, Slander, Misdirection, and the democratic controlled media.. all tools of the DNC in this election. Obummer stated change in the past 4 years, and he certainly delivered. Socialism is closer to the U.S. than ever before, under his direction.
Broken promises made by Obummer during the 2008 election have returned to haunt our country. Higher unemployment, higher taxes, welfare out of control; what a legacy to leave the American people. I’ve read blog entries stating “Romney will take the Oath of Office on the Book of Mormon, instead of a Bible”, what uninformed crap!.. BTW: The Mormon faith uses the same King James Bible as all other Christian faiths.
Ignoring the killing of our Ambassador in Libya and hiding the truth of this Administrations complicity, from the American people, will continue to destroy faith in our government. Destroying our military will further weaken our country and lead to another ‘Pearl Harbor’ style attack. Why do we have to re-live histories mistakes time and time again.
The lies told by the Democrats during this election will end tomorrow. Then the accusations of “Voter Fraud”, “Voter Intimidation”, “Denial of Voting”, etc… will dominate the liberal media. Pundits will ‘cry foul’ and lawsuits will be filed. This at least will be done under the Constitution of the greatest country in the world. Freedom of speech will prevail and no-one will mount an armed rebellion to attack the other guy. We will argue about policies, debate funding, and talk about the next election… BUT we will do it as Americans. United, all be it with differing opinions; still the one country in the world that draws the masses to her shore.
Tomorrow’s election will bring change and we will move forward (not FORWARD) as a nation. Obummer and his cronies will be gone and President Romney will lead us into the future.
So, President Obama used the word "REVENGE" over the weekend and now the GOP wants to feign outrage.
Really?
How many times did we hear back in 2010 that Democrats needed to be punished for Health Care Reform and the economy and that the GOP needed to be elected to punish Democrats and now they want to pretend to be offended?
After years of supporting Democrats and having my patriotism and love of country questioned...
After all the times I've been called "Libtard" and "Commie" and "Fascist" and "Nazi"...
After the months of supporting Democrats and being called a free-loader...
...I can think of no better revenge than voting to re-elect the President tomorrow!
Revenge is a term used by losers, winners don't need Revenge.
When you can't run on record you name call, endless name calling for the whole campaign, failed record? name call.
So are terms like 'Moochelle,' 'Obummer,' 'Oblameo,' 'libtard,' yelling at the president in the middle of a state of the union address, interrupting him while he's talking during press conferences, etc, and generally behaving as though you have the emotional maturity of a 10 year old while discussing the issues of the day with people with whom you disagree, but the right wing does all of those things all the time.
If you want to be offended by immaturity, then be offended, but be dignified. If you want to crawl around in the mud for four straight years, then do that.
But at least be consistent for a change.

The mark of an ideologue is that context is the first thing thrown overboard.
Yes,
Everyone hates the trash talk...from THEM...
What is that saying about casting the first stone?....
---------------------------------------------------------
Libya
Who paid how much tax
What he said in a speech...
These are NOT the issues that will decide the election, thank goodness.
And the real issues will still be here in force on Wednesday and beyond.
"Revenge" is what the GOPers in Congress decided was appropriate on Jan 20, 2009, when they met for dinner and plotted to obstruct, delay, deny and decided to punish American citizens for having the audacity to elect President Barack Obama. Now their noses are out of joint; well too bad so sad for the GOPTPers. It's a sign of Romney desperation that he is still grasping at word straws because he's got nothing left to grasp.
Jody - And what was it when Americans kicked Democrats out of office in the 2010 midterms? That wasn't Americans "being punished" that was Americans doing the punishing of those who earned it.
Calling Democracy "revenge" just because you are a party-owned sheep shows just low you are.
The fact that Obama used the word REVENGE against citizens of the USofA, shows just how bitter and divisive he is...in context or out of context, REVENGE should never be a word used by our President of the "United" States of America.
Buyer Beware!
Romney/Ryan 2012
Revenge isn't strong enough....The Tea Party and the RINOs should both be given all those mothballed bayonettes that Mitt's Defense Department would have, and send them to the Red states, to use on each other, until they really are RED...Republicans eat their own...
So, formerGOP, if I read your statement correctly, you think those who have different ideology than you do, or the candidate you support, they should be rounded up and killed? Stalin, are you back from the dead?
Loo, if you're going to quote, quote correctly and in context.
Why do Republican/conservatives insist on doing the opposite?
http://politicalcorrection.org/factcheck/201010310007
Obama has the early lead in all swing states and the better ground game and the better policies. Obama wins in a landslide. Boo Yah!
Just like all liberal and Obama supporters, living on a dream that does not match reality. Please log-in Wednesday with your excuses and don't forget to blame Bush for your loss.
I love the smell of denial in the morning! Those of you who get all of your news from MSNBC and the network news outlets are in for a stunner tomorrow. The polls they have been showing you over-sample democrats. They are counting on the same kind of turnout that Obama had in 2008, which is not going to happen. Sleep well!
Romney will win with around 300 electoral votes!!
And all you right wing nuts will be no where around after tommorow night. I guess all you idiots believe what Dick Morris said (Romney wins in a landslide). Laughable!!
And if you think turnout is not going to be HIGH, just at look FL this weekend. Voters waiting 4 and 5 hrs to vote.. So keep thinking turnout will not be high as 2008.
The polls in FL was overwhelm because of Voter Turn-out. Tomorrow its on..
rightwing conspiracy-
I see you have been listening to Fox News.
You honestly believe that almost all Polls, even those taken by your beloved Fox News, deliberately "oversample" Democrats? To what effect? The 'over-sampling' argument is merely a way for Conservatives to ignore facts.
Unfortnately for you the voting totals on Election Day will also 'oversample' Democrats.
Obama 2012!
Karl Rove orchestrated two George W. Bush wins, so I think he has some credibility on this. Rove makes a living doing this for being right, not for saying what conservatives want to hear. He would not say it if he didn't believe it. He says that the polls are oversampling democrats, and that Romney will win in a not-so-close election. Republican turnout is going to be MUCH larger than it was in 2008. There is MUCH more excitement on the republican side than there was four years ago, and less excitement on the democrat side.
Romney Ryan 2012 AND 2016!!!
In the lines in Florida, there are Republicans, Independents and Democrats, not just Dems.
FLORIDA, we need YOU!

“Projected Winner Obama 308.4”
“Projected Loser Romney 229.6”
Popular Vote:
Obama 50.6% Romney 48.5%
Hahahahaha.... This is a joke, right?
Deal I will meet you here in Wednesday morning and we will see.
How embarrassing is it that Liberals are falling for the false hope from the liberal media once again? 2010 midterms, Walker recall, etc... and they still flock to the propaganda like mindless lambs to the slaughter.
And Nate dd get the 2010 midterms and Walker recall correct. So, to go along with that, 2008 and soon to be 2012.
You forgot about a large group that has not been surveyed or even mentioned much in the last 6 months, the Christian Coalition. They represent 30+ million voters who sat out the 2008 election.Obama won in 2008 because the CC were pissed at McCain over his stand on abortion. They just stayed home! If they turn out this election, good bye Obama!Romney will win if the CC decide to vote!No exceptions!
Hey Job, that's the only one he called correctly.
These scumbag republican governors and state attorney generals are engaging in voter suppression. How low can a person sink to. That snakelike character in Florida, Snott - I mean Scott, doing everything he can to stop early voting. He is the opposite of what a public servant it empowered to do. He must go. There are others in Ohio, Indiana, Virginia and Pennsylvania. The idea is to make it easier to vote, not harder. What are they afraid of. If indeed their policies are best for our country run on policies, not scumbag tricks.
2010 was a preview of tomorrow, people were fed after the first 2 years of Obama and it has only gotten worse, unemeployment getting worse, deficit growing, and Obama's plan? More of the same.
Predicted record number of State governorships going red.
No, not so. In 2010 only 37% of the people who voted in 2008 voted in 2010.
UAW,When did it become standard for voters to stand in line for five or more hours?
For God's sake, hire and train more election judges, get more machines.
This is not rocket science, these states had four years to get ready for this election.
The voters are indeed ready, but states control the election process.
And Florida sucks at it yet again.
It is an outrage what the Republicans are doing and I hope it galvanizes the Democrats to get rid of them. Why is it you never hear of voter suppression caused by Democrats?
A little confession here: I vote for any post has "Rick Scott needs to be jailed", or any variation of that.
Every poll shows the tide turned in the 3rd debate. As bad as Obama was in the first debate, Romney was equally bad in the third debate.
After the first debate, polls took 1 week to show Romney's bounce.
After the third debate, polls took 1 week to show Obama's bounce.
Since that third debate, polls have steadily moved toward Obama.
Romney tried to talk about Americans he met, but he couldn't remember their names or their stories.
Equally as bad in the third debate! Are you serious? Nothing will top Obama's first no show, that was the icing on the cake. He looked stunned, not there right out of it, asleep, dazed and confused.
CAn't remember names and stories, I think your talking about ole Joe, "there hasn't been a day in the last 4 years I could trust this President" hilarious, in Ohio,, great to be here in Iowa, someone will wright a bcoffe table book on Biden's gafs,
someone will wright a bcoffe table book on Biden's gafs,

Dangerfield:
Even though your posts are now showing your ideologue check marks, I do like your clever posts.
Romney/Ryan for 2012, come on over :)
Dear Ironic screen name...
Anyone who thinks that I am rooting for either side is...
(I am not an insult comic (but I am insulted by your lack of um, respect) so...)

So, what were my "check marks" in 2010?
Stating my opinion of the election is not stating a preference...just how I believe it will go.
-----------------------------------------
It's 2004 Redux
Unpopular incumbent vs. uninspiring challenger
around 50% approval for the incumbent
I see The President in an almost identical circumstance as President Bush in 2004.
Incumbent wins
Dems pick up Mourdock and Brown (Ma) seats, maybe one more?
and a handful of seats in the House.
Status quo.
Romney will win and it will not even be close. The media and liberals everywhere will be in a state of shock. Romney will garner in the neighborhood of 300 electoral votes. We will know the outcome before bedtime tomorrow night.
Romney Ryan 2012 and 2016!!!
Landside for Romney? Really?
Romney landslide, people have buyers remorse Hope and Change, turned into Hopeless Change.
It looks like many republicans are now going through buyer’s remorse for picking these foolish men, Willard Mitt-Wit Romney, and Lying Ryan the talking lying buffoons, as the Republican choice for President -Vice President of the United States. You people really sit your bar low.
We set our bar low indeed, but what is so great about Obama?
What is so great about Obama, ummm let's see. He's the President of the United States...
ATTENTION: Atheist, Taoist, Hindu, Buddhist, Baptist,Sikh, 1st and 2nd Generation Americans, People of Non-Western Values, such as Asians, Africans, Indians etc..Get Behind Obama..THIS JUST IN..AND I'M NOT making this up: Ryan has said that he wants to get America back on a Judeo-Christian path of western values. Unfortunately AMERICA is not Judeo-Christian and people of western values only, are you people in a slumber? They are trying to instill fear through religion..a thing of the past, unfortunately, we're not buying it! Anytime someone tries to sell you anything, especially an election through being a Christian zealot..RUN..it has never ended good in history..
Obama is the laughing stock of the nation. Other countries look at us and laugh. Sad so sad.
If you want to know what everyone is laughing at, look in the mirror. There you will find the answer.
The only segregation policies the American Public needs to be concerned about, would be the type coming from Republican leaders, like telling their constituents that they can tell any cashier that since they have more income than the person standing in line behind him does, they can pay less Sales Tax than he does. (While Republican leaders call Democratic leaders, the bad guys for rolling their tax cuts back and their constituents want to believe them.)
How will Republican constituents separate their selves and America from North Korea when they want an additional $2 trillion pumped up military and no social programs in the streets like Romney and Ryan want?
Obama's first 4 years kept Bush's tax cuts in place, Obama didn't introduce tax reform, didn't pass a budget. Zero fiscal responsibility, His plan tax the 1 %, great that will run the government for a month then what? Look out middle class we're be Greeced by Obama

Part of the reason Greece is in trouble is because the rich don't pay their taxes.....
Sound familiar?
The rich pay taxes, it just isn't enough for the increasing number of 'entitled" people to keep sucking from the social programs. It's a bit of austerity and reigning in those programs or raising taxes on the "rich" to the point they may no longer choose to live in Greece and pay ANY taxes.
Talk to the Hand:
You better believe I'd feel entitled if I had one leg and couldn't work because the GOP sent me to war and now I can't work and provide for my family.
Why do you want your grandparents to work till they die just to buy medication? How cruel can one be?
Robme wants 75 year olds to break their backs after working their whole lives just for to buy food.
I'm sorry I'm not that cruel to to veterans, elderly and children if want to call it entitlement..so be it..because they ARE entitled..Judge a nation by how it takes care of its youth, its poor, their soldiers and their elderly.
I was talking about Greece Today. And not those situations of what you speak here. What TNSEVOL stated was Greece and I was simply putting forth what I and others see THEIR problem(s) is/are.
And they know they have overdone it and need to reign in the abuse. Looked at the number of people on SS Disability since the UE benefits ran out here in the US? Funny they could work and subsequently get UE benefits but when those benefits ran out, had to resort to GovCo teat.
So what is your point? Just cut is, as the GOP has planned of simply restructure it?
The ONLY way Romney wins is to steal the election....and GOP is trying to do just that.
Dems, Independents, moderate Repubs......make sure GOP does not steal your vote....make sure your vote for President Obama is counted and make sure your family and friends get out to vote.
The voting debacle in FL is outrageous....waiting in line for several hours???? I applaud those who have waited but there are many that can't....my parents, both in their 90s would not be able to wait in that line, people with children with them, people with disablities...hopefully they all vote by absentee ballot.
I hope Fl sees what an a.s.s. Scott is and kicks him to the curb next election.
The panic is setting in, time to start the blaming.
he: Not panic, just stating the obvious.
Hesea Your right Haley Barbour was on the talk shows yesterday blaming the hurricane and Christy for Romney loss.
Try some cheese with that whine...
Romney Ryan 2012!!
We who are voting for romney are trying to steal the election? How dumb is that!!!!
