MORRISVILLE, PA -- Republican presidential hopeful Mitt Romney traveled here to Pennsylvania on Sunday for a trip that, in two days or so, would seem either prescient or desperate.
The focus remains on Ohio, but both candidates raced through battleground states in the final sprint to Election Day. Mitt Romney visited seven states where he conducted eight events. NBC's Peter Alexander reports.
The GOP nominee made a late personal appeal for Pennsylvania's 20 electoral votes before a crowd of over 25,000. Romney's stop here in suburban Philadelphia marked his first stop in Pennsylvania since late September, and coincided with a last-minute advertising blitz from his campaign, the Republican National Committee and a supportive super PAC.
"This audience and your voices are being heard all over the nation. They’re being heard in my heart," Romney said, taking the stage on this frosty night. "The people of America understand we’re taking back the White House because we’re going to win Pennsylvania.”
The Romney campaign contended the trip was indicative of surging momentum for the Republican nominee, who could expand his pathway to the 270 electoral votes needed to secure the presidency by winning the Keystone State.
"This is one of those states that came into view right after the first debate," Romney adviser Kevin Madden told reporters traveling with the candidate on Sunday. "And as a result it just presented a great opportunity. So we've seen that state just get closer and closer and closer."
Democrats contend Romney's move is a bluff -- a signal that pathways through other battleground states have been foreclosed. Nonetheless, the Obama campaign did spend money on television ads in the state, and are sending high-profile surrogates to the state to campaign on Obama's behalf.
History nonetheless suggests Pennsylvania will be an uphill climb for Romney. The state has reliably supported the Democratic nominee for president in every election since 1988, and in 2008 Sen. John McCain, too, made a late effort in the state, only to lose it by 10 points on Election Day.
But Romney has some advantages here that make the state a tempting target so late in the game. In addition to GOP ad spending in the state, Republicans won two major statewide races here in 2010, electing Sen. Pat Toomey and Gov. Tom Corbett. The Romney campaign also boasts of a robust ground-game here, in part as a holdover of those successes.
Romney delivered his closing argument speech here with a few Pennsylvania flourishes, hitting President Obama for what he called his "war on coal," and name dropping Chris Christie, the popular governor-next-door to this Philadelphia suburb.
The event's one spoiler: the weather. With Romney more than an hour late thanks to a ground stop at the Philadelphia airport, some frustrated and frozen supporters streamed out of the event while Romney spoke, many having arrived as early as two o'clock in the afternoon to secure seats on the bleachers and beat the crowds who ultimately packed the venue.

O&Joe 2012
Updated for 9:40pm EST on Sunday, November 4, 2012:
*** Revised RCP averaged polling numbers plus new FiveThirtyEight projections across the board.
Obama's leads have been strengthening in Ohio, Iowa, and Nevada over the weekend while weakening in Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, and Michigan; Romney has stabilized his position in both Florida and North Carolina.
Curiously, polling in Colorado, New Hampshire, and Virginia has been strangely absent over the past two days.
Mischief alert: Quite a bit of suspect outlier polling favorable to Romney being floated out in Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, and Michigan today in the face of multiple polling which confirms strong Obama leads in each of these states. The Karl Rove axiom of 'shape perceptions to alter outcomes,' perhaps?
---------------------------------------------------------
With less than 26 hours to go in the 2012 presidential campaign, Real Clear Politics (RCP) continues to report that Obama leads in eight of their 11 toss-up states with Romney leading in three.
In descending order of 'percentage of lead' in favor of Obama, followed in ascending order of 'percentage of lead' in favor of Romney, here are the published averaged numbers from RCP as of 9:40pm EST together with the most recent FiveThirtyEight election night probabilities of victory for either candidate:
In WISCONSIN, with 10 electoral votes, Obama's lead fell this morning to 4.2%, down from 5.0% on Saturday. FiveThirtyEight currently gives Obama a 94.3% chance of victory here, up by 1.0% from Friday and by an astounding 8.6% since Tuesday.
*** Advisory: It should be noted that RCP's average in Wisconsin has been influenced by an outlier poll from the right-leaning Rasmussen which has the race at a dead heat when four other current polls have Obama leading by 8.0%, 7.0%, 3.0%, and 3.0%. In fact, the 7.0% Obama lead was affirmed recently by another Right-leaning poll (WeAskAmerica) which is wholly funded by the conservative Illinois Manufacturing Association.
In PENNSYLVANIA, with 20 electoral votes, Obama's lead fell this morning to 3.9%, down from 4.1% on Saturday. FiveThirtyEight currently gives Obama a 97.9% chance of victory here, up by 1.8% from Friday and by a significant 3.8% since Tuesday.
*** Advisory: It should be noted that RCP's average in Pennsylvania also has been influenced this weekend by the release of an outlier poll from the conservative Pittsburgh Tribune-Review which has the race at a dead heat when two other findings have Obama's lead at 3.0% and 6.0%.
In MICHIGAN, with 16 electoral votes, Obama's lead fell this morning to 3.8%, down from 4.0% on Saturday. FiveThirtyEight currently gives Obama a 98.6% chance of victory here, up 0.2% from Friday and by 0.5% since Tuesday.
*** Advisory: It should be noted that RCP's average here has been influenced by yet another outlier poll, one released by Baydoun/Foster (D), a self-described Democrat-leaning voter analytics consulting firm based in Michigan, which has Romney up by 1.0% when four other polls have Obama leading by 6.0%, 6.0%, 5.0%, and 3.0%. In fact, the 5.0% finding for Obama was published late last week by Rasmussen, another Right-leaning poll. The irony is that Baydoun/Foster has consistently produced polling results which favor Republican candidates up and down the ticket in Michigan and their results, by and large, remain highly suspect.
In IOWA, with 6 electoral votes, Obama's lead rose this evening to 3.0%, up from 2.0% on Saturday morning. FiveThirtyEight currently gives Obama an 80.7% chance of victory here, down by 2.4% from Friday but up and by a substantial 6.8% since Tuesday.
In OHIO, with 18 electoral votes, Obama's lead held today at 2.8%, up from 2.6% on Friday. FiveThirtyEight currently gives Obama an 86.0% chance of victory here, up by 5.3% from Friday and by an astronomical 12.7% since Tuesday.
In NEVADA, with 6 electoral votes, Obama's lead held today at 2.8%, up from 2.4% on Friday.
FiveThirtyEight currently gives Obama an 90.1% chance of victory here, up by 2.9% from Friday and by an astonishing 10.4% since Tuesday.
In NEW HAMPSHIRE, with 4 electoral votes, Obama's lead held today at 1.5%, down from 1.8% on Friday. FiveThirtyEight currently gives Obama an 79.4% chance of victory here, up by 0.7% from Friday and by an astounding 9.1% since Tuesday.
In COLORADO, with 9 electoral votes, Obama's lead held today at 0.6%, down from 0.9% on Friday. FiveThirtyEight currently gives Obama a 69.3% chance of victory here, up by 3.6% from Friday and by an astronomical 13.9% since Tuesday.
---------------------------------------------------------------------
In VIRGINIA, with 13 electoral votes, Romney's lead held today at 0.3%, down from 0.5% on Friday. Interestingly, FiveThirtyEight increased Obama's chance of victory here (and not Romney's) to 70.7%, up by a substantial 5.9% from Friday.
In FLORIDA, with 29 electoral votes, Romney's lead held today at 1.4%, up from 1.2% on Friday. FiveThirtyEight currently gives Romney a 55.0% chance of victory here, up by 0.2% from Friday.
*** Advisory: It should be noted that RCP's average in Florida does appear to have been hyper-inflated by two recent outlier findings in favor of Romney, the first a 6.0% margin yesterday from the right-leaning Mason-Dixon Group with localized results for only the two cities of Tampa Bay (site of the 2012 RNC) and Miami (Marco Rubio stronghold), the second a 3.0% margin from Gravis Marketing, a polling firm funded in large part by BAIN Capital, and an appreciably older finding by The Sunshine State News, an ultra-conservative website/blog
which had Romney leading by 5.0% on October 24. Minus the influences of these extreme outliers, Romney's true lead is likely well under 1.0% and quite possibly closer to that of dead heat.
In NORTH CAROLINA, with 15 electoral votes, Romney's lead continued to hold at 3.8%. FiveThirtyEight currently gives Romney a 79.7% chance of victory here, down 0.2% from Friday.
So...
In order for Obama to win re-election the least complex route would be through maintaining his current lead in the five toss-up states where his existing margins are widest (Wisconsin at 4.2%, Pennsylvania at 3.9%, Michigan at 3.8%, Iowa at 3.0%, and Ohio at 2.8%. Doing so would bring his electoral vote total on Election Day to 271. In this scenario, Obama could still surpass 270 while failing to hold Nevada, New Hampshire, and Colorado.
However, should Obama fail to hold the strategic prize of a hotly-contested Ohio, the loss could effectively be neutralized by any of the following combination of wins from states where FiveThirtyEight is currently forecasting Obama victories:
Path #1: Obama loses Ohio but holds the remaining three states where he presently leads, Nevada, New Hampshire, and Colorado resulting in 272 electoral votes.
Path #2: Obama loses Ohio but steals Virginia while also taking only one state from among Nevada, New Hampshire, or Colorado resulting in 272, 270, or 275 electoral votes, respectively.
Interestingly, with Romney's lead having diminished significantly in Florida over the past two weeks and with Hurricane Sandy forcefully highlighting the stark contrast between the candidates regarding the value and
necessity if not the mere existence of FEMA in a state which has perhaps the greatest dependence on federal storm relief efforts in the nation, a 3rd path has now emerged which could provide for some interesting election night television:
Path #3: Obama comes from behind to win Florida. This scenario would require only that Obama win the three states in which his present leads are widest (Wisconsin at 4.2%, Pennsylvania at 3.9%, and Michigan at 3.8%), resulting in 276 electoral votes.
For Romney to unseat Obama, he not only would have to hold the three states in which he presently leads, North Carolina, Florida, and Virginia bringing his electoral vote total to 248, but also steal victories in at least
one of the following possible combinations from states currently leaning Obama, listed in descending order of likelihood based on the reverse engineering of current FiveThirtyEight numbers for election night chances of victory:
Path A: Romney steals both Ohio and Colorado resulting in 275 electoral votes (least unlikely outcome).
Path B: Romney steals both Ohio and New Hampshire resulting in 270 electoral votes.
Path C: Romney steals both Pennsylvania and Colorado resulting in 277 electoral votes.
Path D: Romney steals both Pennsylvania and New Hampshire resulting in 272 electoral votes (most unlikely).
Working against two of these scenarios (Paths A and B) are rising averaged polling numbers over the past two days for Obama in Ohio; however, in that same forty-eight hour period Romney has succeeded in reducing Obama's averaged leads in Pennsylvania, Colorado, and New Hampshire. Perhaps somewhat mystifyingly, the Romney campaign continues to make pronouncements alluding to their having embraced the "Pennsylvania Strategy" included in Paths 3 and 4 above, the two paths which have the least likely chance of success.
So, is this a bold strategic maneuver on the part of Eric Fehrnstrom or a feint designed to counter Obama's anticipated re-allocation of campaign resources to a quantifiably softening political landscape in Florida? If it's the latter, a review of the published travel schedules for the President and key Democrat surrogates for tomorrow, with the one exception of Bill Clinton, does not suggest the Obama campaign is taking the bait.
In any event, should Romney fail to steal either Ohio or Pennsylvania he could overcome this shortfall by capturing the four other states in which Obama's current leads are smallest (Colorado at 0.6%, New
Hampshire at 1.5%, Nevada at 2.8%, and Iowa at 3.0%) resulting in an electoral vote total of 273.
FiveThirtyEight this morning estimates the chance of Election Day victory for each candidate as follows: Obama 85.5% (up significantly from Friday morning's 80.9%) and Romney 14.5% (down by a similar margin from Friday's 19.1%).
FiveThirtyEight now also projects that on Election Day the final electoral tally will be as follows: Obama 306 (up 7 from Wednesday's 299) and Romney 232 (down 7 from Wednesday's 239).
Lastly, although it makes no difference in terms of the final result which can only be determined by the Electoral College, FiveThirtyEight currently predicts a national popular vote distribution on Election Day as follows: Obama 50.5% (up from Thursday's 50.4%) and Romney 48.5% (down from Thursday's 48.6%).
With only 26 hours of campaigning left, and with Friday's published October jobs report playing to predictably mixed reviews (economy adding more jobs than expected; unemployment rate ticking up one tenth of one percent to 7.9%), holdout voters may now be left to nothing more than the proverbial 'feel in their gut' as Tuesday approaches.
My own predictions: Look for craziness down in Florida on Election Day and an unwillingness on the part of the Ohio Secretary of State, Jon Husted, to call the election in his state in a timely manner. In spite of these obstacles, Obama wins the White House with an electoral vote total of 332 to Romney's 206, taking Virginia and Florida along the way.
I knew that the Pittsburgh area is strong for Romney, but now a Philadelphia suburb pulling in over 25,000? the Philadelphia area is big time Democrat Territory and the area that typically trumps western PA.
This isn't an act of despiration, this is seeing an opportunity and grabbing it.
It is desperation by Romney to go to PA, maybe he could have a prayer breakfast service with Santorum? Talk about a total cast of GOP losers. I hope to never see them again except on SNL reruns..........
Fantasizing again ticked. By the way Obama doesn't have to win Ohio but he will. On the other hand Romney has to win it or it's lights out. Face it, the party's over.
Our President said that he would bring the nation together. That did not work.
Our President said that he could work with the opposition party by reaching across the isle. That did not work.
Our President said that his administration would be free from lobbyists. That did not work.
Our President said that his administration would be the most transparent ever. That did not work.
Our President said that he would fix the economy within three years. That did not work.
Our President said that his health care bill would lower health care costs. That did not work.
Our President said that he would not raise taxes on 95% of Americans in any way. That did not work.
Our President said that his stimulus spending bill would solve our employment problem. That did not work.
Our President said that he would cut the deficit in half by the end of his first term. That did not work.
I see a pattern here. Our President said that if he could not fix the economy within three year that he did not deserve a second term.
Gov TOM Corbett? Is that the same guy as the former DA in Pa who allowed Jerry Sandusky to continue to rape children for 3 YEARS AFTER AN INDICTMENT WAS HANDED DOWN? Who gave MONEY to Sandusky's foundation following the indictment? THAT Gov Corbett? Then again, the Christian RW and buggering children seems to be....ah never mind. Dont want to offend anyone with the truth!
Wow, yet another RW hero! Right up there with Scott Desjarlais here in Tennessee who is "Pro-Life"...until his mistress gets knocked up.
You Neo-Cons really need to start finding a better class of people to follow!
Despite your spin I see a pattern too..."Our President."
The wish and probability to commit fraud is becoming increasingly evident by the GOP. Democrats, we must vote in great numbers. We must do so with the attitude, that the right to do so is as fundamental as breathing. Anyone who attempts to stop or question that innate right must be fought, just as one would fight another who tried to deny anyone of us air for breath. Anyone gets in your face, tell 'em to get outta your face, then call the authorities. Make sure going in, you know who and where to call. Go to the aid of anyone whom you believe is being subjected to voter interference. Lastly, do not leave until you have made yourself understood by someone of authority, and then leave only if the Authority coherently explains why you are ineligible to participate, and you agree with such. If all else fails, Course this is a personal choice, you could do like I did in the 2004 election, when I knocked a republican poll worker on His sorry ass. Cost me $1500.00 lawyer fees, but I was found "not guilty" and the county had to pay Court costs and reimburse me the lawyer fees, and I still voted. Vote! Don't allow any son-of-a-bitch to deny you this most basic right!
You have to be joking. I walked in and voted it took ten minutes and yes I showed my I.D. Nothing to get your panties in a wad over.
well #1.9 (Cant) - your apparent lack of education is appalling. WHO caused the lack of security for Americans traveling the world? Can you say SHRUB? I knew you could. After the military action that infuriated the muslim world, WHAT ELSE WOULD YOU EXPECT? ROSES?
Romney's going back to PA is a desperate move but no mention of Obama's unplanned return to Florida being a desperate move. And the Obamedia isn't biased? Do snakes have armpits?
A vote for Obama is the kiss of death for America!
I laugh when I read these idiotic posts and rant and rave about Romneys taxes...Hey jackasses if Romney didn't pay taxes don't you think Obama's team would have exploited it..
instead they send harry (dumbass) reid to make stupid bets just to get Romneys team to reply and then they could just make a big deal out of his income....because he is a scary rich man, looking to pick pocket the average citizen...frankly its the un-successful businessman you have to watch out for they will steal your piggy bank...
On wednesday will be a day reckoning for liberals (suicides, rioting, violence and death threats) because we all know THEY ARE POOR LOSER'S !!!!
Romney paid all his taxes in accordance with all laws. Next question, Dems....
Prove it, Truth Conveyer.

Send Obama back to Chicago where he thrives on the corruption! Even Slick Willy can't pull this one out.
Next Question Conveyor
George Romney released 12 yearsworth of tax returns to the American people when he ran for president. Since then, presidential candidates -- Republicans and Democrats-- have followed his lead and released multiple tax records for public scrutiny.
All presidential candidates, except one.
Mitt Romney has only released one year of records after persistent pressure. It raises the question: What does Mitt Romney have to hide?
Romney has some explaining to do: Romney admits he has huge amounts of money in offshore bank
accounts -- but won't say how much money, how many accounts, or where they all are
Vanity Fair reports that Romney set up shell companies in Bermuda and tax shields in the Cayman Islands and Swiss Bank accounts And just this week, Romney's campaign said it was "unseemly and disgusting" for people to scrutinize his tax returns and business holdings
Unseemly? Disgusting? It's the same thing every presidential candidate has done since 1968. Everyone except Mitt Romney.
So, we have to ask: What's he hiding?
RobUs = economic traitor
Crystal
As if you know squat. You really like to call people names it's okay that's what losers do. Bend over sweetie and kiss your a** goodbye.
Yep, so is Mr. Obama's, Mr. Biden's, Obama surrogates, and the Bollywood stars last attempts are prescient and desperate.
BTW Mr. Obama:
Obama's campaign said its wishful thinking on Romney's part to think PA is in play. If that's the case how come Bill Clinton will be there tomorrow, and not just one stop, but four?
Lynspug,
Gee, I see you have adopted the Obamaland law: "I am king, therefore I can make laws up as I go along"
The reason Romney does not have to prove anything is this:
1). He has not done anything wrong. You may want to check with the IRS and the people who he donated 30% of his income to if he did anything wrong.
I do have a suggestion though. Why doesn't Obama prove he did not do anything wrong when he left our people out to dry in Benghazi. HE needs to prove that!
Next question, Dems.
WhichKing,
Obamas grades on my desk tomorrow please. Next question....
One of these guys is going to be Humpty Dumpty after the fall long about Wednesday. I know Romney has fervent supporters (and magic underwear) ...elsewhere some are heckling the President, but I think Mitt Ryan will get the rotten egg award.
From the NYT’s Michael Barbaro:
From USA Today’s Jackie Kucinich:
Here is some real breaking news.....
And Now we hear that Romney was not letting people leave his rally who wanted to leave....

I cannot WAIT until someone leaks Romney's tax returns! McCain saw 23 years of Romney's returns, as I recall, and then PASSED on Romney in favor of Sarah Palin.
I will also PASS on Romney. He's missing his soul.
PENNSYLVANIA!!!!
Romney/Ryan with Chris Christie for a "bipartisan' USofA, not one built on "REVENGE!!!!!!" (Obama, November 2012)
Pennsylvania. I would laugh so hard if Romney won that. The biggest upset in an election ever. Go ahead Obama, you can have Ohio's 18. We'll take Pennsylvania's 20.
Still if he takes Pennsylvania, this election would probably be a landslide, because he's polling way better in the other swing states. I like the idea though, and the fact that the Romney campaign is investing there, while the Obama campaign desperately clings to Ohio, says something.
Maybe so, but that still left about 29,900 plus of the original 30,000 plus to listen to him ask for their votes.
You have to do a lot of scrolling to get past all the 0bamaBots cut and pastings they do on every Election artice....
Explain this then....Why is Bill Clinton spending the whole day in PA, with 4 hastily arranged Campaign stops if they are so sure PA is in the bag ???
Because the latest poll has the race tied, that's why.
Romney will lose his birth state (MI), home state where he governed, other home state (NH), and other home state (CA). Guess the 'native son' isn't so well appreciated for his flip-flopping loyalties.
Research between now and tomorrow Mitt's record as Gov in Massachusetts and then explain to me why he's so low in the polls there.
Let's see, in the spring of 2004, Peabody, Mass., got drenched with rain, which flooded the downtown area. After the storm, then-Gov. Mitt Romney asked President George W. Bush to declare Essex, Middlesex and Suffolk Counties federal disaster areas, according to the Boston Globe.
That fall, the state legislature proposed spending $5.7 million on a flood prevention project to protect against future floods. Those funds would be matched by $22 million in federal mone. Romney vetoed it. Last week, Romney has come under fire for suggesting that the federal government get out of the business of disaster relief. But his record in Massachusetts doesn’t lend much support to the suggestion that states can handle it alone.
Once again, where's the real Mitt? Can't trust this guy with anything!
Looks like Tick #1, is on TOP of her Rubbish !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
If it's a bluff why all the huffing and puffing?
When people feel fear they tend to seek others that share their fears and repeat over and over to one another their thinking about what will calm their fears!
Hey Tick, Enough with that Fox ReTarded News info, that garbage doesn't work, put the trash out for the landfill !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Romney is playing to huge crowds everywhere he goes, and Obama much smaller then in 2008. Biden had a mere 900 show up to one of his events in Colorado. Obama crowds are down, absentee ballots are way down from 2008, and Romney has a 12 point lead among independents. Everything is in place for a lopsided Romney victory, something the country desperately needs. Can't wait to hear the liberals crying, after the joyful announcement that Obama is one and done.
So let me try and get this straight. You democrats want myself and others to give obama another four years to try and do what he promised to do in his first term as President of the United States? When people really think about... it, you know the ones that haven't bought into the smoke and mirror tactics, giving him a second chance does not make sense.
It's funny a job report that came out right before the election, and the last time they released a report they dropped the unemployment % to what is was in the latest report, and they fought tooth and nail about how they didn't fudge numbers, and how dare people are saying they lied on the report. Hence the last report came out after obama got curb stomped by Romney in the first debate. Funny how a week later they came out and said due to a system error California was left out of the last report and more excuses, but yet the unemployment numbers still stayed at 7.9%. So I wonder what they left out this time?
Then we can move to the Libya issue. How it took obama 14 days to declare it a terrorist attack, and in those 14 days he blamed it on a video. Let me see didn't Libya ask for more security for 9/11 due to knowledge of terrorist cells in the area four days before 9/11, but obama and biden told the people they had no knowledge that they requested security. Didn't intelligence agencies two hours after the attack notify this administration that it was indeed an organized attack done by terrorists, yet again they didn't know this and blamed it on a video. How about we look at this whole Arab spring situation and see how it turned into a FUBAR (F'ed Up Beyond All Recognition) agenda of obama's? With Mubarak in Egypt women could be in the streets without male escort, could own their own shops, drive a car, go to school. Other religious groups could practice their faith in peace, they even helped protect the muslim protesters when it was their time to pray and now they are killing non-muslims, burning their churches/places of praying down to the ground. The new government wants to reevaluate the peace treaty to Israel. In Libya under Gaddafi women could walk down the streets without male escort, drive, educate themselves. Now the government there said day one after killing Gaddafi that Sharia law would be the law of the land, so that means the women of this nation are nothing but property to the men. Let me educate you democrats in something your dear obama said in 2007 telling the Boston Globe when running for POTUS; "The President does not have power under the Constitution to unilaterally authorize a military attack in a situation that does not involve stopping an actual or imminent threat to the nation." So him acting without it appears to be at odds with what he stood for when he ran for president the first time. If it is a threat the POTUS has 90 days to declare war on that nation to protect the United States, after that he needs congressional approval and congress needs to declare war. Wait, didn't obama tell congress he does not need congressional approval to attack Libya, because he has UN and NATO approval to do it? Didn't he get his little puppy dog panetta to tell a congressional hearing the same thing? Hey at least Bush Jr. got congressional approval! Can any of you democrats tell me how and in what way was Libya an actual or imminent threat to our nation? I'll wait....... Don't worry about it, I'm sure you all will come up with some kind of new zing to make yourselves feel better!
Here is something else that seems very interesting to me and others that you are asking to vote for obama. It took obama 7 days to visit Joplin, Missouri after a tornado wiped out half of the town and left 120 people dead. It took him 14 days to visit the gulf coast after the BP oil spill. obama declined to visit Tennessee after the historic 2010 "1000 year floods". obama ignored the Texas wildfires when over 400 homes were lost. Oh yeah obama ignored the calls for assistance from Benghazi where we lost 4 Americans. But it took obama only one day to visit the hurricane damage on the east coast. Oh yeah!!! There is an election coming up!!! Again I'll wait to see if you democrats have a reply or even a zing to it!!!
I just have a three more things I want to bring to the democrats attention and maybe just maybe they could have an answer for me and the others that are wondering the same things. You know how when obama says he wants to get the rich to pay more taxes to make it fair. Wouldn't it make more sense to make sure that all the 1% people pay their taxes instead of increasing the taxes on them? See here is a little math for you all. Let me say a democrat makes $100,000 a year and let us say we do a flat 20% tax for everyone including the top 1%. That means this democrat will pay $20,000 in taxes for the year. Now let's take a 1% person and say they made $20 million. At 20% they would have paid $4,000,000 in taxes. It would take the democrat at the same pay, 800 years to pay the same in taxes that the top 1% person paid in one year. So can you all really stand there and say it is fair to make them pay more in taxes? Wouldn't it be fairer to just make sure all the 1% pay taxes and don't find loop holes to not pay? A great quote from a great man "to take from one … in order to spare to others, who, or whose fathers, have not exercised equal industry and skill, is to violate arbitrarily the first principle of association, the guarantee to everyone the free exercise of his industry and the fruits acquired by it." That great man is Thomas Jefferson.
2nd to last thing I want to talk about is a few stats of obama and the previous president during their reelection years: Sept 2004 Bush Jr. Reelection vs. Obama's September 2012 numbers in (); Unemployment 5.4% (8.1%), Number of Unemployed 8 million (12.5 million), Number of Unemployed and Underemployed 18.5 million (23.1 million), Jobs Added in August (data released in September) 142,000 (96,000), Median Household Income $54,788 ($50,054), 2Q GDP Estimate 3.3% (1.3%), Labor Force Participation 66% (63.5%), Average Gallon of Gasoline $1.92 ($3.83), Crude Oil (Barrel) $48.86 ($92.89), Debt Per Person $25,105 ($51,155), Consumer Confidence 96.8% (70.3%), Federal Debt $7.4 trillion ($16.1 trillion). Now I'm not saying Bush was a great or even good POTUS, but numbers don't lie, and the third thing I want to mention has a lot to do with these numbers and how they got so bad.
When obama was elected he had 6 months of super majority in both the house and senate. With a super majority you can get what ever you want done, and passed. The other party could not stop it. Why was nothing done to so called help us out from what the previous administration caused. That all the blame is being put on the previous administration. All they did was scare the public and D.C. into getting the stimulus bill passed that hasn't done what it was supposed to do, and to pass obamacare. You democrats should know what obamacare is all about right? Oh wait, you wouldn't, none of us would. Just like one of your fellow democrats from California nancy pelosi said when asked what is in it. We will just have to find out after it is passed! You have to be kidding me!!! We still have yet to find out what's in it, but what we do know is it contains a loosely worded mandate that the federal government can force people to buy a product or suffer penalties. So can any of you explain how nothing was done with 6 months with a super majority? Again I'll wait.........................

Republicans when we got hit on 9/11 Republicans swore we were being kept safe.
Now that we are 100% under Democrat President Obama, Republicans say "none of us are safe".
Has any reasonable person ever heard of such a backwards mindset that Republicans can't it straight of when they are "safe" and when they were "attacked"?

History proved that it was desperate.
The election was held ten days ago and Romney lost Pennsylvania. Since the state has OVER a MILLION more registered Democrats than Republicans, no one really needed a crystal ball to see that outcome.
Mr. Fabulous Businessman proved that he is just an empty suit. He would have run the country the same way he ran his campaign... completely out of touch with reality.
"The danger to America is not Barack Obama but a citizenry capable of entrusting an inexperienced man like him with the Presidency. It will be far easier to limit and undo the follies of an Obama presidency than to restore the necessary common sense and good judgment to a depraved electorate willing to have such a man for their president. The problem is much deeper and far more serious than Mr. Obama, who is a mere symptom of what ails America . Blaming the prince of the fools should not blind anyone to the vast confederacy of fools that made him their prince. The Republic can survive a Barack Obama. It is less likely to survive a multitude of Idiots such as those who made him their president."
Just curious. Do you have anything concrete to back up your opinion? As one of the "confederacy of fools" I am really wanting to be educated in this area. Why am I a fool? Be specific, please.
OH forgodsakes, Kannin . . .
when are you going to stop posting this "article" that maybe was (in)correctly translated from a newspaper in . . . . PRAGUE! yeah, we American voters all pay sooo much attention to a newspaper written in the Czech Republic

"ROMNEYISM"
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/robert-reich/romneyism_b_2069095.html?utm_hp_ref=politics
The ten guiding principles of Romneyism are:
1. Corporations are the basic units of society. Corporations are people, and the overriding purpose of an economy is to maximize corporate profits. When profits are maximized, the economy grows fastest. This growth benefits everyone in the form greater output, better products and services, and higher share prices.
2. Workers are a means to the goal of maximizing corporate profits. If workers do not contribute to that goal, they should be fired. If they cannot then find other work that helps maximize profits in another company, their wages must be too high, and they must therefore accept steadily lower wages until they find a job.
3. All factors of production -- capital, physical plant and equipment, workers -- are fungible and should be treated the same. Any that fail to deliver high competitive returns should be replaced or discarded. This keeps an economy efficient. Fairness is and should be irrelevant.
4. Pollution, unsafe products, unsafe working conditions, financial fraud, and other negative side effects of the pursuit of profits are the price society pays for profit-driven growth. They should not be used as excuses to constrain the pursuit of profits through regulation.
5. Individual worth depends on net worth -- how much money one has made, and the value of the assets that money has been invested in. Any person with enough intelligence and ambition can make a fortune. Failure to do so is sign of moral and intellectual inferiority.
6. People who fail in the economy should not be coddled. They should not receive food stamps, Medicaid, or any other form of social subsidy. Coddling leads to a weaker society and a weaker economy.
7. Taxes are inherently bad because they constrain profit-making. It is the right and responsibility of individuals and corporations to exploit every tax loophole they (and their tax attorneys) can find in order to pay the lowest taxes possible.
8. Politics is a game whose only purpose is to win. Any means used to win the game is legitimate even if it involves lying and cheating, as long as it gains more supporters than it loses.
9. Democracy is dangerous because it is forever vulnerable to the votes of a majority intent on capturing the wealth of the successful minority, on whom the economy depends. The rich must therefore do whatever is necessary to prevent the majority from exercising its will, including spending large sums of money on lobbyists and political campaigns. The most virtuous among the rich will go a step further and run for president.
10. The three most important aspects of life are family, religion, and money. Patriotism is a matter of guarding our economy from unfair traders and undocumented immigrants, rather than joining together for the common good. We owe nothing to one another as citizens of the same society.
.
On Tuesday we'll decide whether these should be the guiding principles of America.
.
IS THIS WHAT YOU WANT FOR AMERICA?
HECK NO, VOTE O & JOE! :-)
"...a citizenry capable of entrusting an inexperienced man like him with the Presidency."
Ummm, you do know that Obama spent three entire terms as Illinois state senator, before he became a US senator, before he was elected President? Right?
You do know that Mitt's only political experience was as a one-term governor after which he couldn't run again because he would have lost in a landslide? And you do know that he's losing not only in Massachusetts, where he was governor, but in Michigan, where his dad was governor, too?
Apparently not. I'm sure Fox News didn't cover all that.
Anemone - You do realize Obama was a US seantor from 2005 until he became president, right? You do realize that he was a Senator in a democrat controlled House and Senate during Bush's last term? You do realize that your excuse for Obama not getting anything done during his last two years was because ONLY the House was repuplican controlled and that means that Bush couldn't get anything done because BOTH houses of Congress were democrat controlled?
That means that Senators Obama and Biden caused the so-called 'economis mess' that they so-called inherited.
Face it, Obama OWNS the mess of our economy and doesn't have the experience to not only understand what is wrong, but doesn't have a clue as to how to fix it.
ANYBODY who is STUPID enough to vote for ROBME has consumed the KOOL-AIDE. If that bastard gets elected, look to go hot on another military action with IRAN this time - in perhaps 18 months MAXIMUM. His theme song will probably be "Bomb, bomb, bomb...bomb, bomb IRAN!"
@Kannin#2: The very acute and very greatest threat to the continuation of this nation as a representative democracy of Free people is, in fact, people like yourself. Uneducated, weakminded, cell phone yalping, REDNECKS are becoming the howling voices of pure gwaddamned lunacy, lunacy upon which people like "lying Romney" totally depend. Tea Party and It's members could not exist with an absence of such people. People like the various gang of "rapist's could not be running for the Congress if people like you did not exist. Untried Felons like "Darrell Issa" could not sit in Congress if It wasn't for people like you. You'll never overcome your lunacy through the counsel and teachings of other lunatics. Additionally, the cost to this country of trying to cope with such egregious stupidity is becoming greater than the national defense costs. Call it what you wish, but It is what It is.

He is Black and you can't stand it. What I fear is all the wingnut conspiracies that will appear after Obama wins.
I believe Rupert Murdoch set out to destroy America with Fox News as an experiment in how stupid Americans are and he has succeeded.
Why is it that some states are unable to manage the procedure of voting? Why should anyone stand in line for 7, 8 or 9 hours and end up voting at 1:00 AM in the morning? Why can't they provide better facilities for voting? What are they afraid of? May be it is to show that government is unable to manage anything properly! People will not give Obama the credit for getting rid of Bin Laden but blame him for Bengazi. If Obama is responsible for Bengazi, Bush is responsible for 9/11 attack on New York. People of Ohio should be thanking Obama for the auto rescue. It is funny that some one wants Obama to show his college transcripts etc. but is not demanding to see Romney's tax returns. Is Romney left of Ted Kennedy, severly consewrvative or a moderate. I want Romney to show the real Romney. Don't forget the 47% comment. I am sure quite a few of those ranting and raving against Obama are one of those 47% and will wait for the trickle down from the "Job creators" (the top 10%) while the Republicans "Expand their tax base"(the rest).
Hey Kannin. I am gratuitously insulted that you rudely call me and the 51% of the electorate who voted for our President last time foolish/fools. I have already voted for him again. What was the alternative? Romney, once we got to "know" him, turned out to be un-knowable and inconsistent. No tax returns, no consistent policy statements (except that, trust him, the economy would magically improve under his skilled off-shoring and outsourcing, bankrupting and government bail-out taking CEO leadership). So, what are you on about, except to call the majority names?
I'm putting you on ignore, so I won't have to read your sillyness come Wednesday.
Bin Laden
Bin Laden
Bin Laden
Republicans = 0
Obama = Bin Laden
NeoCons suck says "He is Black and you can't stand it."
Once again out pops the race card. If you disagree with Obama you are a racist. If you don't vote for Obama it is because he is black. That is all liberals have to combat a failed presidency. Obviously the condition of the country will have nothing to do with why Obama loses tomorrow, it will be racist. Ironic that the nation overwhelmingly put aside race to elect Obama, and now not re-electing him is racist. Maybe the problem with liberals is that they cannot see beyond the color of his skin to the job Obama has done. Or more accurately failed to do. Obama is simply not a leader, he is a complainer, he blames, and he makes excuses. Obama had his chance, and he did not earn another. That is why Obama will lose tomorrow.
Could the Presidents record be a asset for Mr Romney?
You could have said 4 years ago that Obama's experience was possibly a weak link. That argument does not fly today. There arent too many people that have more experience than Obama does at being President of the USA. Romney/Ryan on the other hand are by far the least experienced pair in foreign affairs that have ever been offered to the American people for serious consideration for a Presidential election.
If a person like Romney wins after basing his campaign on one lie after another, I feel sorry for America.
The republicans lied in 2010 as they ran on jobs, jobs, jobs. They said after the election either they were going to get serious about jobs or not. I guess the or not won as the republicans just voted against jobs for our returning veterans.
The kicker is, the republicans want you to blame President Obama for their votes against jobs.
Mitt has no chance of taking Pennsylvania...no
You mean lies like in Bengazi lies or information that you just don't get and shrug it off as lies?

Do you understand english? This has been hashed and rehashed. It's a dead issue except for mental midget Repukelicans that duh....just don't get it.
The Wrongme campaign themselves said on October 24 that a move into PA would represent a 'last ditch effort', and that's what you are seeing.
It is desperation; not expansion. They know they are going to see the race over early tomorrow night when the Eastern polls close.
If R & R win, America is Finish !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Lie & Buy your way is inmoral - What is happening to America ??????????
"Hi,....I'm Mitt Romney, and I made a fortune offshoring the jobs of people just like you, pocketing their pensions, and killing their Unions so that I can make money at your expense."
"I'll finish the job Bush started on the middle class, cause,.....this won't hurt a bit. You'll enjoy being a wage slave to the upper class."
"So be a good sport and vote for me."
Romney has already created more net jobs than Obama!
He was behind the start up of Staples. Starting with one store in 1986, Staples now is the world's largest office products company with $24 billion in sales in 2009.
There were a handful of companies in which jobs were lost, but the jobs created by all the others number in the hundreds of thousands ... hundreds of thousands of US workers.
What is even more noteworthy is the fact that he never blamed the previous management for his own difficulties – he just fixed what was wrong.
Kannin -- And he used government loans to do it, not his own or his investers. then he took his cut off the top,our money. how does that feel? The only jobs he created was for his sec and his accountants. He is real good at using our money to make money.
There were a handful of companies in which jobs were lost, but the jobs created by all the others number in the hundreds of thousands ... hundreds of thousands of US workers.
Hey Slingblade, Prove it...
O&Joe 2012
Yea! Minimum wage jobs for everyone!
Also, out of curiosity, how many small businesses owned by middle class familes has Staples put of business because they could not compete with the large corporation?
How many locally-owned sporting goods stores went dark because of Sports Authority?
OK GT, here ya go - Staples, 90,000; Dominoes, 175,000; Sports Authority, 15,500; plus many others -- More net new jobs in a short career in the private sector than Obama has produced in his entire presidency!
Do say! And how many of those jobs were full time with benefits? I'll go out on a limb and guess less than 10%.
Try again:
Romney: 280,500 net new private sector jobs.
Obama: 759,000 net new private sector jobs.
Advantage: Obama
www.thinkprogress.org/economy/2012/11/02/1130361/obama-bush-private-sector-jobs/?mobile=nc
In one breath Romney says to cheering throngs that "Government doesn't create jobs!" Then, while those words are still hanging in the air, he steps up with "My government will create 12 million jobs!" No wonder Obama didn't show up in the first debate. Romney spends most of his time providing rebuttals for his own arguments.
To be fair, and honest, millions of Americans would take a minimum wage job with zero benefits rather than the already expired unemployment that they USED to rely on. Minimum wage is better than zero wage.
Hey drude rocker, you're talking minimum wage jobs... Yea Romney? Bullshi$t...
Seems I heard Staples was going under, that would be a loss of 9,000 jobs, and Sports Authority wasn't doing so well, another 175000 jobs down the tube, and all that government money wasted but Mr.Romney got his cut , right off the top.
No Staples is not going under. They are closing 15 under performing stores in the US, 45 in Europe and selling an it's European Delivery business.
The Sports Authority did close some marginal stores in 2009, but is currently expanding into spaces abandoned by other retailers.
DB A --- Thank you I didn't know the stats. Not as bad as I had heard. Still not good when any company looses jobs.
@old man-3106200#5.13: According to the latest analysis by 2 major wall street firms both concerns won't be around much longer, and I totally agree. Neither are competitive models.
Mac wall street firms give annual lists of who they see going under and most of them don't even get close to going under.
@DB Akron#5.15: Go to a mall and watch the traffic in these 2 stores. Neither has a chance.
Tattooed, and that is precisely where Romney/Ryan and the entire GOP/TP want us - being thankful that we have minimum wage jobs with no benefits. While they rake in billions to line their already bulgin pockets and offshore accounts. Your attitude is absolutely pathetic.
Poor, misguided, Moderate Dem. The last four years have been stellar, haven't they? I endorse neither candidate, however considering that millions, or should I say MILLIONS, of Americans have no jobs, no income, and face the very real possibility of homelessness and starvation every day, I would postulate (may need to look that one up; it is a bit of a complicated word for someone that resorts to name calling) that ANY job is better than NO job. Forgive my use of caps-lock for those of a higher intelligence, but sometimes you have to greet apparent lack of intellectual ability with a bit more of a kindergarten approach and highlight the important words.
Colbert for President - 2012. At least he admits he is joking.
I heard that one woman at the PA rally for Romney felt like an animal who was being locked in a pen and could not get out.
www.democrats.org/news/press/romneys_pa_fantasy_turns_into_disaster
The disaster was the Romney Flight being held up for 2 hours landing at the airport. Nothing he could do about it.
Yes, he could...its called "letting people leave who want/need to" instead of keeping them trapped inside for fear that the media would see yet another half-full venue.
The disaster was not his tardiness, the disaster was the Romney campaign's totalitarianism.
Okay, what's next? Blame Romney for Hurricane Sandy? That's right up the Libs' alley, isn't it? How come you're not blaming Obama's favorite scapegoat Bush? Methinks there's alot of desperation in the Lib postings tonight. Do I smell fear mixed in with skunk?
A vote for Obama is the death kiss for America!
Axlerod said Obama's speech comes from his loins- pretty appropriate since we have gotten screwed for the last four years!
Romney/Ryan 2012- the end of an error
Joan are you serious? You're living a pipe dream but you can talk it over with the other resident genius Crystal since you obviously share the same brain. Unfortunately no brain cells were included just a couple of AA batteries.
Romney and desperation go together like a fish and water.
Mitt is extra desperate. If he doesn't get elected, and is able to suppress investigations against himself, he may be facing indictments.
Only one more day of the liar Romney.
The fact is that on every single day of Bush's eight-year presidency, there were more Americans going to their jobs than on ANY day of Obama's presidency.
whew, better wash that one off, Kannin. No telling where you pulled that one out of.
Simple math tony. The total workforce is 155 million. The average unemployment rate under Bush was 5%. Multiply those two numbers and you get an average of 7,750,000 workers who were unemployed.
Similarly, the average unemployment rate under Obama has been 9% which translates to 13,950,000 unemployed workers.
That means that an average of 6 million more workers were unemployed under Obama than under Bush.
Yeah, everyone knows we can't trust the Bureau of Labor and Statistics... Oops. Seems as if the unemployment numbers are higher after the often vilified Bush left office.
data dot bls dot gov slash timeseries slash LNS14000000 (perhaps someone else can post an actual link; it will not let me.
AS BILL CLINTON SAID, IT'S *ARITHMETIC,* (STUPID!)
In First 45 Months In Office, Obama Created 750,000 Private Sector Jobs, Bush Lost More Than One Million
I guess it is only arithmetic because you haven't quite caught on to how one arrives at percentages, which, as my fifth grade teacher told me, is division.
Slick Willy also said, "it's the economy stupid"- Obama doesn't have a clue- all he wanted was to party in the Whitehouse like he won the lottery. After Pelousy left and took her flying monkees, he was neutered. A vote for Obama is a vote for Valerie Jarrett moron.
Romney will at least do the job.
Pretty pathetic for the obamazombies to blame EVERYTHING on Bush- Pelousy has been in Congress for over 40 years, same with Barney Frank, Chris Dodd and Ted Kennedy, where the hell were they and what the hell do we pay them for?
Once again kannin YOU POSTED THIS SAME POST YESTERDAY. Is your brain stuck or are you too stupid to come up with anything new?
@#9.6-
It's often hard to tell where ignorance ends and pure stupidity takes over, but not in your case.
The economy was under dire straight and the job numbers were still plunging when Obama became president. It continued to plunge and then the gain began so simple mathematics will tell you that if the number was -10 and now it is +5 then the total job created will be 15. The graph here will show it clearly. Raw data and other charts can be seen and compared to this by checking the Bureau of Labor and Statistics. If one cannot acknowledge the truth so be it.
Republicans just love to pull facts out of their ass, don't they?
Well, here are some facts for ya, all verifiable at many government websites:
When Bush started his presidency, unemployment was 4%. When Bush ended his presidency, unemployment was 7.8% and rising faster than Halliburton's profits!
When Bush signed his first budget the national debt was $5.7T. When the last budget Bush signed ran out the national debt was $11.9T!! He more than doubled our national debt in 8 years!
Average yearly GDP growth under Bill Clinton = 4%. Average yearly GDP growth rate under George W. Bush = 2%.
When George W. Bush took office, the total non-farm employment was about 131M people. When George W. Bush left office, the total non-farm employment was about 130M people. Over 8 years, Bush actually lost 1M jobs!
Now you can try to glorify Bush all you want but history will not be so kind. Nor should it!
Is Bush running for President?
23 mil still unemployed -the same amount of people underemployed when Obama started in office
17 mil more people on food stamps than when Obama took office
16-17 tri in debt
Median income per family down $4500
Those facts just came fresh out of my ass!
Brave Americans were slaughtered while pleading for the help that Obama denied them. That is despicable! He is unfit as a leader, and as a man.

Romney's BS is McCarthyism.
Obama simply has stood up to the greed that is crushing the American middle class.
Snap out of it !! We are a country NOT a corporation.
President and CEO are two VERY different jobs.
Romney is an out-of-touch elitist.
Careful what you ask for America.
Serfdom - Very appropriate name for someone who supports a Marxist. Serfdom is a part of Communism. And you know what? I was around when Joe McCarthy was on his Pink-o witchhunt and I wish he'd continued until every last one of them had been outed. We now have a Marxist Muslim in the WH who doesn't give a poop about this country or us. His aim is to shove us into the North American Union which is part of the Bilderberg world government. That means you will not be in control of your life - the government will be. You will be forced to eat, sleep, live and die for the Caliph Obama. Maybe this is what you and the Libs want but I sure as hell do not.
A vote for Obama is the kiss of death for America!

Romney/Ryan 2012 for no more partisan bullying
Romney is a stuffy upper class twit !!!
Plain, ordinary people, like Obama, are incapable of handling the enormous challenges of the US presidency. We desperately need the talents of someone who has the genius to meld the intricacies of high finance, organizational management, and innovative planning in order to become that successful.
By his very success, Romney has proven that he can handle the job of president, and can lead our country back to prosperity.
Candidates that are incapable of achieving personal success, will be even less capable of achieving national success.
"plain, ordinary"??
Genius?
No, American voters are not THAT foolish! :-)
.
"MITT ROMNEY'S CAMPAIGN INSULTS VOTERS"
JUST A SMALL SAMPLE HERE - YOU SHOULD READ THE WHOLE THING:
"
". . . And then there has been his chronic, baldly dishonest defense of mathematically impossible budget proposals. He promised to cut income tax rates without exploding the deficit or tilting the tax code toward the rich — but he refused to say how he could bring that off. When challenged, he cited “studies” that he maintained proved him right. But the studies were a mix of rhetoric, unrealistic growth projections and more serious economics that actually proved him wrong.
This last is important — maybe the crux of the next four years. History has shown that it’s a lot easier to cut taxes than to reduce spending. Republican presidents Ronald Reagan and George W. Bush promised to do both, managed to do only the first and (with plenty of help from Congress) greatly increased the national debt.
Now Mr. Romney promises to reduce income tax rates by one-fifth — for the rich, that means from 35 percent to 28 percent — and to raise defense spending while balancing the budget. To do so, he would reduce other spending — unspecified — and take away deductions — unspecified. One of the studies he cited, by Harvard economist Martin Feldstein, said Mr. Romney could make the tax math work by depriving every household earning $100,000 or more of all of its charitable deductions, mortgage-interest deductions and deductions for state and local income taxes. . . ."

You do realize that if elected, Mitt Romney will pursue the same austerity measures that are have been crippling Europe's growth for the past 4 years.
Unlike Europe, or most of the world, the United States has actually achieved positive GDP and is reducing the unemployment rate.
Also, as far as proving he can handle the job of president, Mitt Romney has barely been able to successfully run a campaign...which he's been trying to do for about 6 years now. His only claim to fame has been to repeatedly lie to the American public about what his positions are...
You consider flagrant dishonesty to be an attribute of a great leader?
www.dailykos.com/story/2012/11/04/1154407/-If-you-care-about-the-economy-pay-attention-to-Europe-and-reelect-President-Obama
Vinnie - Obama's never held a real job in his life and certainly not in the private sector. He couldn't run a lemonade stand and make a profit if he tried. Talking about dishonesty - why don't you go back and watch the videos of Obama's speeches, starting in 2007 to present, and you'll find alot of dishonesty. He has lied and contradicted himself so many times one can't keep count and he's still doing it. I wish just one Lib could tell me what great things he's done for this country and back up the claims with the truth. His only claim to fame is being a druggie and an alkie from high school through college, associating with the Chicago hoodlums, kowtowing to the Muslim Brotherhood and covering up Fast & Furious and Benghazi. And I didn't even tough on the economy and jobs we've been waiting for him to act on for the last 4 years.
A vote for Obama is the kiss of death for America!
@Joan-1991647#12.4: You seem to enjoy using the word "Kiss". Suggest you try kissing, or biting, a Hogs ass.
Well said, Vinnie. A Romney administration would have us wallowing in a stagnant economy. I'll take the slow growth.
I kind of feel sorry for the Joans of this world; what a scary, hopeless country they've created in their own imagination. We're moving forward, Joan. You can come with, if you'd like.
Joan:
Typical responses from the regulars, carry on, you are showing your 4 Aces!
Romney/Ryan 2012
Joan, if you truly open your eyes and examine where our economy was 4 years ago, on the complete and utter brink of a depression, and where we are today especially when compared to our counterparts in Europe, then the answer is unequivocably that President Obama's administration has been successful.
Resorting to petty attacks such regarding his admitted drug use in high school and college, only shows that he is human and I'm sure that a vast majority of Americans can relate to that.
As far as "he has never held a real job" only shows your ignorance. I suppose you would consider all of the State Senators and US Senators of this country as never holding a job while in office.
Question: what "real job" did the neo-con Messiah, Ronald Reagan have, prior to becoming a politician? How many fortune 500 companies did Reagan start and run?
Meanwhile, you have former "businessmen" such as George W. Bush and Dick Cheney who oversaw and largely contributed to the greatest financial meltdown in 80 years and at the same time want to resort to the same policies that nearly bankrupted our country in the first place.
I know that it goes against your narrative and your narrow point of view, but we need President Obama for 4 more years to continue guiding the country.
Americans,...join hands,...and march,...against the corporate greed,...that has put you,...in chains.
Vote Obama/Biden 2012.
I read the President's economic plan for the next four years. The Plan is devoid of detail to include budget. It appears to be primarily a wish list. It seems that the President wants the federal government to spend a lot of money that it does not have to train math and science teacher's to teach vocational classes at the JC level for jobs that do not really exist in this country. Foreign manufacturers are paying their workers roughly a tenth of the minimum that our workers require and that is why they can always beat domestic manufactures on price. Neither candidate seems to have a solution for this problem. It is our huge trade deficit that is degrading efforts to revive the economy by injecting more money.
In many states, state colleges and universities are having to raise tuition to make ends meet because of tighter state budgets. The President wants to withdrew federal funding from these schools so that they either have to raise tuition even more or close down facilities. The President thinks that this effort will help improve the quality of education in America.
The President is expecting to pass his increased taxes on the "Rich". He has been trying to do that for the past four years but he somehow thinks the can prevail in the next 4 years. This tax will at best take 100 billion dollars per year from the private sector and put it into the public sector. The President promised that the 2012 federal deficit would not exceed 229.27 billion dollars yet the actual deficit exceeded 1.1 trillion dollars so his efforts to date to cut the deficit have been less than successful. He is proposing more spending and unspecified cuts and which has been provided it is impossible that any actually deficit reduction will take place. So I am looking at a nominal annual deficit of 1 trillion dollars assuming the increased taxes on the "rich" passes.
At the heart of the President's plan is the idea of bringing the troops home in 2014 and with the savings use half of it to start paying down our debt and use the other half for infrastructure improvements. To start paying down the debt the federal government has to run a surplus. To run a surplus with half of the piece dividend, the federal government will have to realize a savings of more than 2 trillion dollars per year from bringing the troops home. That amount is more than twice a s much as we are paying for defense including all overseas operations. The President's plan is mathematically impossible. Mathematically impossible plans are at the least less than viable. The President's plan is an example of fantasy economics.
My biggest concern is all the debt that our federal government has been accumulating. With a debt or more than 16 trillion dollars and huge deficits predicted for at least another decade, I estimate that the money that the federal government is borrowing today will end up costing the tax payers more than 10 times the amount borrowed to repay over the next 180 years. Paying 10 times the going rate for goods and services is not good management. The President has yet to present a detailed plan for repaying the debt. The tax payers have a right to know how much all of this federal borrowing to going to end up costing them.
You have good sense, clear presentation, excellent structure and grammar, facts and clear, logical arguments. Go away you freak...you don't belong here amongst the "normal" democraps. Damn Man! How did you every get past the pmsnbc censors?
Will, great post! Not to forget, yesterday Obama declared REVENGE against a portion of the US society. Sad showing for the President of all citizens.
Romney/Ryan for no more polarizing presidential behavior
Jesus! You people can't even read. You're soooo simple, sooooo programmed...You all sound the same, and it usually matches what you hear on fox news. Hopefully, we will never have to hear from you losers again...or, God forbid, we will have to deal with a lying, draft dodging mormon and non-serving sons whose relatives live in splendor in Mexico with their plural wives. Maybe romney should have used the campaign slogan "Multiple wives for everyone!"
True to what I've seen here for the last two weeks, bring an informed intellectual post into play and all you can do is attack attack attack.
Let's take this further shall we 'Barbara'?
Why should I have to pay for some female to get an abortion because she was too stupid to keep her legs closed?
Why should more of my money go to ppl sitting back collecting welfare and food stamps? I pay enough thank you very much. , 53% of my money already goes to fed and state taxes.
Why on Earth would I ever support a President who told me I didn't build my business? I certainly didn't see one hammer wielding Democrat helping me get my evil gun store up and running.
I would rather be in a binder than on welfare and food stamps sponging off the American people. Yup, damn right... I'm a woman and successful and ready for a President who will quit trying to take what I have built to give it to a bunch of ppl with their hand out.
Take your hate elsewhere, small business owners are awake and know which candidate will actually work with us to ensure we can stay open and prosperous and it sure as heck isn't Obama.
Like I said, "soooo simple, sooooo programmed."
unlike obama, where the sun always shines.....romney like the rest of us humans must contend with the weather.
stayinformednow
You're an idiot! You are not human. If God came forth and showed himself as black, you would turn your back.
rain ... that was a really bizarre post ...
Wow, rain, religion and racism in the same post? You should be so proud!!!
Those who are victims of Sandy and stand in support of Romney, should not accept government funds. Remember, you believe that it is right to be on your own. You should be able to rebuild and replace everything that you lost. In fact, why bother with overwhelming the industry with insurance claims, just use your personal funds to rebuild.
I'm sure this will not happen because many of the Lying Rombully supporters live beyond their means. They have no liquid assets and talk a lot of hot air!
Hey Rain... Maybe they should "Get a loan from their parents"...

Maybe not AMAZING, but certainly better than the last Republican administration, which was amazingly BAD!
Stop the wealthy from eating the middle class.

The Catholic Latinos are coming out in droves for Mitt Romney!
We are so NOT! My whole family and many friends are Catholic Latinos and we'll all be voting for President Obama, thank you very much!
Latinos have been scapegoated and vilified almost non-stop by the Repugnicans and now we're supposed to vote for one? What a laugh!
Richard-The Catholic Latinos are coming out in droves for Mitt Romney!
Haha, yeah, keep believing that if it helps you sleep at night.
Obama/Biden for Real Americans.
And why is that Audrey! Perhaps because us evil Republican believe you should be a CITIZEN of our great nation to have a right to vote? Oh heaven forbid!!!! Wouldn't want that would we?
Was just watching Micheal Moore on CNN Piers Morgan show. He was literally begging people to come and vote for the President. He said a poll from USA had out, not sure if it's true, just saying what he said that 90 million Oboma voters nationwide were sitting this election out because the President didn't deliver on promises.
Mr. Moore went on to agree that President did not do that good a job but people had to do things everyday they did not really want too and should go vote for President even if they didn't want too.
Confused? Me too. I believe he was saying to all people that supported President last time but not anymore should vote for him anyway. Piers made the point that if they came out to vote as Mr. Moore wished they may vote for Mr. Romney to which they great liberal mind of Micheal Moore said " I didn't think of that".
Unfortunately, I think the majority of America has decided that Michael Moore is worth less than the excrement from either of these candidates.
Even though the President has not done a very good job, he is a nice guy and we will all miss him if he is no longer President.
Will, you might miss him but those of us who lost our jobs and haven't been able to find another definitely will not. He's a pathological liar who's lied even about his family. He lied that he got the troops out of Iraq and ended the war. The fact is that the troops came home on deadline agreed to by Pres. Bush and Iraqis in Status of Forces Agreement in 2007. Obama wanted the departure date 16 months earlier but when he failed to negotiate his own Status of Forces agreement with the Iraqis, he was forced to fall back on Bush's plan. Didn't know that, did you? He lied that he and his wife came from modest backgrounds when, in fact, he got to attend one of the best private schools in Hawaii thanks to his grandmother who was a corporate vice president at one of the largest banks in the state. And Michelle got to attend the best public magnet school in Chicago because of a father who held a well-paying job (earning six figures in today's dollars) at a city water plant that was a reservoir for political patronage positions. They both whined about having high student loans that they had to repay. Between them they were earning almost $500,000/year so that certainly was no hardship. Yeah, he's a winner all right. He's also a real piece of work.
A vote for Obama is the dead kiss for America!
@Joan
You seem to be blending the past with the present in your disparaging remarks about the Obama's. His Grandmother retired as an executive, but after many years of working her way up and being passed over for promotion because she didn't have a college degree. I've seen where they lived in Hawaii, and can assure you that our President had humble beginnings.
Was the school that Michelle attended considered a magnet school 30 years ago? I doubt it. They did mention their student loans and how long it took to repay them. I never once heard them complain about the amount.
Funny ...a whole article questioning Romney in Pa.....The Pittsburgh Tribune Review...Had both Romney and Obama...tied.....Remember this is a Coal loving Fossil Fuel State. The President is NOT!
You have to love the Main stream media...
As a PA resident, I disagree with your statement that this a fossil fuel state. The Pittsburgh area is much more advanced in all areas of industry, not so isolated to just coal. The fracking in upstate PA has largely divided the residents, and the vast majority of the approximately 4.5M residents in the five counties of Southeast PA do not base their livelihood on the coal industry.
Also, as anyone that goes down the shore would know, there is very little shore left this year as a result of increased and more powerful storms from climate change which is largely attributed to the burning of fossil fuels.
Mike: I suggest you read up on Governor Romney. When he was Governor of Massachusetts, he stood in front of a Massachusett Coal-fire Plant. Stating: Coal Kills---I will never support the Coal Industry.
I'm sure you got fooled on Romney's flip-flop-flip-flop stories. He's got a habit of telling you what you want to hear, instead of telling you what he feels. (It's the Romney way with his lies)
President Obama--2012
Ok Vinnie your first... You are wrong ... The POWER iNDUSTRY IS ONE OF THE LARGEST iNDUSTRIES AND EMPLOYMENT IN OUR AREA. I have personally worked out of local 2 Insulators in just about every Power Plant in Western Pa. Yes Marcellus and Utica Shale has taken over a lot Industry as well. President Obama takes credit for it in almost all of his Energy speeches.Fossil Fuels..still is one of the largest if not the Largest employer in Western Pa ...The President has a problem here.
Deb...If you read Mitt Romneys Energy Policy it includes the Revitalization of Fossil Fuel Power Plants... End of story...I really do not care how he tried to compromise when he was the Govenor..Fossil Fuel Employs millions of people...and the President wants to shut them down
I will say it again...Pa is a coal loving Fosil fuel State ...That is a fact! Opinions do not change facts!
Mike:
The President wants to shut down all of what is America. He is a wolf in sheep's clothing!!
Just drove past the empty Solyndra building, where 1861 employees were given 12 hours notice, because the FEDS were crashing the green energy party.
Romney/Ryan 2012
Sure, throw out the one poll that has them tied...which is actually a downgrade, because it used to show Mitt up by five points the last time it was taken.
Whenever I see a poll, I try to see if I can see the demographics of the group who took it. For example, there's one poll from a local Detroit Fox affiliate that shows Romney with a one-point lead in Michigan...but when you look at the breakdown of age groups, 43% of the respondents were 66 or older and only 2.77% of the respondents were 18-29. But the last election, 23 percent of the voters in Michigan were 66 or older, and sixteen percent were 18-29.
This wasn't being off on party affiliation by a point or two or even three - this maimed the demographic breakdown of the Michigan electorate by increasing voters from a more Conservative bloc by nearly fifty percent, and lowering a more Liberal bloc to less than 20% of its size. Basically, it's worthless, due to very poor sampling techniques.
Spartan..I do agree with you ...at the same time ...there are a lot of polls that use the wrong sampling of Democrats to Republicans. I am not sure if they intentionally do it on purpose or they really are not sure what model to use since there is a disparity of Republicans and Democrats. Do they use the 2008 model...the 2010 model or the 2004 model...
You are confusing your area with the entirety of Pennsylvania.
Apparently in all of your travels you have never been east of Harrisburg. At best, the coal region in PA covers 6 counties with a population of approximately 1M people...that's less than 10% of the entire population of the state of Pennslyvania and is less than the populations in Philadelphia or Pittsburgh.
I, too, enjoy facts. Here is a link to the 50 largest employers in the STATE, far-and-away the major non-government employers are Higher Education, Medical/Health Care, Pharmaceutical, Finance, etc..., So your assertion that PA is a Fossil Fuel state is simply not true.
www.careerinfonet.org/oview6.asp?printer=&next=oview6&id=&nodeid=12&stfips=42&group=1
Vinnie ...again you are wrong....Fossil Fuel is an Industry. not a company..It will not show up on a report. Everything related to Fosil Fuels will sort of blow away your little link and reports ..again ...
I will say it slow ....Penssyllvania is a Coal loving Fossil Fuel State....
Vinnie ...You dont really know much on this subject. It is pretty obvious with your replies. Every part of the Fossil Fuel Industry revolves around Coal. Coal may take up 6 counties...Then you can start looking at the different Unions that effects . Insulators, Carpenters, SteamFitters, Pipe Fitters , Electricians, BoilerMakers, Sheet Metal Workers, Iron Workers..Engineering, Plant Personel, Manufacturing..etc...The List goes on. There are more Power Plants in Pa than most States in the Union(Sorry dont have numbers at my finger tips). Vinnie my statement is a fact! Are there other industries...sure but Pa is a Coal loving fossil Fuel State!
Vinnie ... I just looked up the exact numbers... Pa has 40 locations and 78 plants...More than any other State in the Union....Ohio has 35 Locations. Again ....Pa is a Coal Loving Fossil Fuel State...The locations spread across the State.
My statement is simply TRUE!
Also...17 of the locations are in close Proximity to Harrisburg...I actually use to live and work in Harrisburg in the Camphill area.
A person would have to be dumber than rock to vote for a candidate who openly lies to everyone over and over.Romney Flip-Flop Pinocchio will sell the manufacturing jobs to China, we will "change" back to Bush era. He will make again easier for China sht to enter the country to compete with US goods, and we will see more "bye-bye jobs"!
The bid bser in Obama. Consider all of the promises on the economy that he has failed to keep. It was the President who said that if he could not fix the economy in three years that he did not deserve a second term.
Will, everybody who has paid an ounce of attention knows that the Republicans blocked the economic recovery just so they could use it to try to win this election. How anybody could even think of rewarding this treasonous bunch of slimeballs with a vote is beyond comprehension.
Audrey:
Maybe the Congress was doing the job, that their constituents voted them in to do? Stop an insane leader! If he was a true American, he would have never threatened REVENGE against his own people during a campaign stop, but rather expressed interest in being collaborative.
Romney/Ryan for a bipartisan USofA
@Independent Thought#25.3: Operative word in your post is "Maybe".
And maybe NOT!
I remember that 2010 election... jobs, jobs, jobs! Well, where are the jobs? Fact is, they said one thing while they were campaigning and did something else entirely once they were elected.
Just curious ...I am pretty sure the 5 mil plus jobs Obama boasts about happenned in 2010 and on....
I guess according to you that the Congress is responsible for them...since you were ready to blame them for not producing jobs..
Anyone that thinks Mr. Romney will be tough on China agianst his own best interests "money" is dumber than that box of rocks.
Maybe people like you should move to China? Business will produce where it is cheapest to do so, and that is NOT the USA. If you want those jobs back, you will need to follow them where they went fool! Despite the lies Ofoolya has told you, US Presidents do not decide where business manufactures or where it decides to relocate.
