Ryan goes tailgating on final Sunday of election

GREEN BAY, Wis. -- Sundays in the fall mean football. And, on this final Sunday before Election Day, Republican vice presidential nominee Paul Ryan went tailgating in the battleground state of Wisconsin.

Ryan, in the shadow of Lambeau Field, chatted with friends, family, and voters just a couple hours before his beloved Green Bay Packers kicked off against their division rivals, the Arizona Cardinals.

Sporting a Packers jacket and tie, the seven-term Wisconsin congressman, joined by two of Mitt Romney’s sons, Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker and Sen. Ron Johnson, even played a quick game of cornhole with his kids and a few Romney grandkids.

"You have to have your cheese on your head,” Ryan said to the kids while playing cornhole.

Republican Vice Presidential candidate Rep. Paul Ryan, speaks during a campaign stop in Mansfield, Ohio.

This is not Ryan’s first tailgate on the campaign trail. He has attended at least two others throughout the country.

"The only problem is that I don't have tickets for the game," Ryan, who owns a share of Packers stock, joked to a fan.

Sunday’s outing marked Ryan’s second time in the Lambeau Field vicinity since being tapped as Romney’s running mate on Aug. 11. He was last at the popular venue in early September when he taped a handful of television interviews.

The GOP ticket is still behind in the Badger State. The NBC News/Wall Street Journal/Marist poll from Oct. 18 shows President Obama ahead of Romney, 51 percent to 45 percent. The six-point lead is, however, in the poll's margin of error. Wisconsin will award 10 electoral votes.

The Fox Valley area, which Green Bay is part of, is the quintessential battleground region of Wisconsin, which could explain why Ryan visited the area again just two days before Election Day.

Ryan will head back to Wisconsin Monday night when he holds his final campaign rally before the Nov. 6 election in Milwaukee.

"Ryan’s 2012 budget ... As The Hill noted in May 2012, Ryan’s budget called for any disaster relief funding to “be fully offset within the discretionary levels provided in this resolution.”

"In other words, Congress would have to agree on cuts elsewhere in the budget if it wanted to dole out funds after a disaster. This idea was so far out of the mainstream that even Republican legislators abandoned the idea.

Ryan opposed Obama’s efforts to build significant funding for disaster relief into the budget, a move intended to avoid the kinds of DELAYS forced by Cantor and the Tea Party last year.

This is not a new position for Ryan. Long before he entered the political limelight, Ryan was still pushing a similar line on disaster funding."

WTF???

Eric just finshed watching it...

From ThinkProgress;

While the Romney campaign and surrogates defend the misleading ad, Republican House Majority Leader Eric Cantor was not so eager to comment on Sunday. Appearing on Meet the Press, House Majority Leader Eric Cantor did not respond directly, and instead claimed to knew nothing about it when host David Gregory aired the radio ad:

GREGORY: You don’t think that’s a deceptive ad?

CANTOR: David, I’ve not seen the ad. I just heard it now. I’ve not seen the ad. Apparently they are not running it in Virginia.

It is unlikely Cantor missed the ad. The ad has received extensive coverage from newspapers and networks, which led Chrysler to publicly refute it.

Despite criticism, Romney has only expanded the false Jeep campaign.

Steve Benen, The Maddow Blog:

* In Ohio, NBC/WSJ/Marist shows Obama ahead by six, 51% to 45%; CNN shows Obama up by three, 50% to 47%; and a Columbus Dispatch poll shows Obama up by two, 50% to 48%.

* In Florida, the NBC/WSJ/Marist poll shows Obama ahead by two, 49% to 47%; but a Mason-Dixon poll shows Romney up by six, 51% to 45%.

* In Iowa, the final Des Moines Register poll, widely regarded as the most reliable of the state's polls, shows the president with a five-point lead, 47% to 42%.

THIS IS FACINATING . . . . EVEN FOR PROGRESSIVES . . .

.

"ROMNEYISM"

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/robert-reich/romneyism_b_2069095.html?utm_hp_ref=politics

The ten guiding principles of Romneyism are:

1. Corporations are the basic units of society. Corporations are people, and the overriding purpose of an economy is to maximize corporate profits. When profits are maximized, the economy grows fastest. This growth benefits everyone in the form greater output, better products and services, and higher share prices.

2. Workers are a means to the goal of maximizing corporate profits. If workers do not contribute to that goal, they should be fired. If they cannot then find other work that helps maximize profits in another company, their wages must be too high, and they must therefore accept steadily lower wages until they find a job.

3. All factors of production -- capital, physical plant and equipment, workers -- are fungible and should be treated the same. Any that fail to deliver high competitive returns should be replaced or discarded. This keeps an economy efficient. Fairness is and should be irrelevant.

4. Pollution, unsafe products, unsafe working conditions, financial fraud, and other negative side effects of the pursuit of profits are the price society pays for profit-driven growth. They should not be used as excuses to constrain the pursuit of profits through regulation.

5. Individual worth depends on net worth -- how much money one has made, and the value of the assets that money has been invested in. Any person with enough intelligence and ambition can make a fortune. Failure to do so is sign of moral and intellectual inferiority.

6. People who fail in the economy should not be coddled. They should not receive food stamps, Medicaid, or any other form of social subsidy. Coddling leads to a weaker society and a weaker economy.

7. Taxes are inherently bad because they constrain profit-making. It is the right and responsibility of individuals and corporations to exploit every tax loophole they (and their tax attorneys) can find in order to pay the lowest taxes possible.

8. Politics is a game whose only purpose is to win. Any means used to win the game is legitimate even if it involves lying and cheating, as long as it gains more supporters than it loses.

9. Democracy is dangerous because it is forever vulnerable to the votes of a majority intent on capturing the wealth of the successful minority, on whom the economy depends. The rich must therefore do whatever is necessary to prevent the majority from exercising its will, including spending large sums of money on lobbyists and political campaigns. The most virtuous among the rich will go a step further and run for president.

10. The three most important aspects of life are family, religion, and money. Patriotism is a matter of guarding our economy from unfair traders and undocumented immigrants, rather than joining together for the common good. We owe nothing to one another as citizens of the same society.

.

On Tuesday we'll decide whether these should be the guiding principles of America.

.

IS THIS WHAT YOU WANT FOR AMERICA?

HECK NO, VOTE O & JOE! :-)

This clown has never "tailgaited" before in his life and just wants to get away from all "those people' he has to be around today.

Pat - I keep expecting Eric Cantor to just walk out on MTP and hand David Gregory a check. He's clearly in the pocket of the Republicans!

Updated for 1:00pm EST on Sunday, November 4, 2012:

*** Mischief alert: Quite a bit of suspect outlier polling favorable to Romney being floated out in Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, and Michigan today in the face of multiple polling which confirms strong Obama leads in each of these states. The Karl Rove axiom of 'shape perceptions to alter outcomes,' perhaps?

Obama's leads have been strengthening in Ohio and Nevada over the weekend and Romney has stabilized his position in both Florida and North Carolina.

Iowa, Colorado, New Hampshire, and Virginia remain in a state of flux with new RCP numbers likely to be released within hours.

---------------------------------------------------------

Real Clear Politics (RCP) consistently has been the "go-to" source for accurate averaged daily polling data for both FOXNEWS and NBCNEWS. With less than 35 hours to go in the 2012 presidential campaign, RCP continues to report that Obama leads in eight of their 11 toss-up states with Romney leading in three.

In descending order of 'percentage of lead' in favor of Obama, followed in ascending order of 'percentage of lead' in favor of Romney, here are the published averaged numbers from RCP as of 1:00pm EST together with the most recent FiveThirtyEight election night probabilities of victory for either candidate:

In WISCONSIN, with 10 electoral votes, Obama's lead has fallen to 4.2%, down from 5.0% on Saturday. FiveThirtyEight currently gives Obama a 94.2% chance of victory here, up by 0.9% from Friday and by an astounding 8.5% since Tuesday.

*** It should be noted that RCP's average in Wisconsin has been influenced by an outlier poll from the right-leaning Rassmussen which has the race at a dead heat when four other current polls have Obama leading by 8.0%, 7.0%, 3.0%, and 3.0%. In fact, the 7.0% Obama lead was affirmed recently by another Right-leaning poll (WeAskAmerica) which is wholly funded by the conservative Illinois Manufacturing Association.

In PENNSYLVANIA, with 20 electoral votes, Obama's lead has fallen to 3.9%, down from 4.1% on Saturday. FiveThirtyEight currently gives Obama a 97.3% chance of victory here, up by 1.2% from Friday and by a significant 3.2% since Tuesday.

*** It should be noted that RCP's average in Pennsylvania also has been influenced this weekend by the release of an outlier poll from the conservative Pittsburgh Tribune-Review which has the race at a dead heat when two other findings have Obama's lead at 6.0% and 3.0%.

In MICHIGAN, with 16 electoral votes, Obama's lead has fallen to 3.8%, down from 4.0% on Saturday. FiveThirtyEight currently gives Obama a 98.8% chance of victory here, up 0.4% from Friday and by 0.7% since Tuesday.

*** It should be noted that RCP's average here has been influenced by yet another outlier poll released by Baydoun/Foster (D), a self-described Democrat-leaning voter analytics consulting firm based in Michigan, which has Romney up by 1.0% when four other polls have Obama leading by 6.0%, 6.0%, 5.0%, and 3.0%. In fact, the 5.0% finding for Obama was published late last week by Rasmussen, another Right-leaning poll. The irony is that Baydoun/Foster has consistently produced polling results which favor Republican candidates up and down the ticket in Michigan and their results, by and large, remain highly suspect.

In OHIO, with 18 electoral votes, Obama's lead has settled at 2.8%, up from 2.6% on Friday. FiveThirtyEight currently gives Obama an 85.0% chance of victory here, up by 4.3% from Friday and by an astronomical 11.7% since Tuesday.

In NEVADA, with 6 electoral votes, Obama's lead has risen to 2.8%, up from 2.4% on Friday.
FiveThirtyEight currently gives Obama an 89.5% chance of victory here, up by 2.3% from Friday and by an astonishing 9.8% since Tuesday.

In IOWA, with 6 electoral votes, Obama's lead has risen to 2.5%, up from 2.0% on Saturday morning. FiveThirtyEight currently gives Obama an 83.1% chance of victory here, up by 1.5% from Friday and by an astounding 9.2% since Tuesday.

In NEW HAMPSHIRE, with 4 electoral votes, Obama's lead has fallen to 1.5%, down from 1.8% on Friday. FiveThirtyEight currently gives Obama an 79.4% chance of victory here, up by 0.7% from Friday and by an astounding 9.1% since Tuesday.

In COLORADO, with 9 electoral votes, Obama's lead has fallen to 0.6%, down from 0.9% on Friday. FiveThirtyEight currently gives Obama a 68.1% chance of victory here, up by 2.4% from Friday and by an astronomical 12.7% since Tuesday.

---------------------------------------------------------------------

In VIRGINIA, with 13 electoral votes, Romney's lead has fallen to 0.3%, down from 0.5% on Friday. Interestingly, FiveThirtyEight increased Obama's chance of victory here (and not Romney's) to 71.0%, up by a substantial 6.2% from Friday.

In FLORIDA, with 29 electoral votes, Romney's lead has risen to 1.4%, up from 1.2% on Friday. FiveThirtyEight currently gives Romney a 53.8% chance of victory here, down by 1.0% from Friday and by a stunning 10.9% from Tuesday.

*** It should be noted that RCP's average in Florida does appear to have been hyper-inflated by two recent outlier findings in favor of Romney, the first a 6.0% margin yesterday from the right-leaning Mason-Dixon Group with localized results for only the two cities of Tampa Bay (site of the 2012 RNC) and Miami (Marco Rubio stronghold), the second a 3.0% margin from Gravis Marketing, a polling firm funded in large part by BAIN Capital, and an appreciably older finding by The Sunshine State News, an ultra-conservative website/blog which had Romney leading by 5.0% on October 24. Minus the influences of these extreme outliers, Romney's true lead is likely well under 1.0% and quite possibly closer to that of dead heat.

In NORTH CAROLINA, with 15 electoral votes, Romney's lead is holding at 3.8%. FiveThirtyEight currently gives Romney a 78.7% chance of victory here, down 1.2% from Friday.

So...

In order for Obama to win re-election the least complex route would be through maintaining his current lead in the five toss-up states where his existing margins are widest (Wisconsin at 4.2%, Pennsylvania at 3.9%, Michigan at 3.8%, Ohio at 2.8%, and Nevada at 2.8%). Doing so would bring his electoral vote total on Election Day to 271. In this scenario, Obama could still surpass 270 while failing to hold Iowa, New Hampshire, and Colorado.

However, should Obama fail to hold the strategic prize of a hotly-contested Ohio, the loss could effectively be neutralized by any of the following combination of wins from states where FiveThirtyEight is currently forecasting Obama victories:

Path #1: Obama loses Ohio but holds the remaining three states where he presently leads, New Hampshire, Iowa, and Colorado resulting in 272 electoral votes.

Path #2: Obama loses Ohio but steals Virginia while also taking only one state from among New Hampshire, Iowa, or Colorado resulting in 270, 272, or 275 electoral votes, respectively.

Interestingly, with Romney's lead having diminished significantly in Florida over the past two weeks and with Hurricane Sandy forcefully highlighting the stark contrast between the candidates regarding the value and necessity if not the mere existence of FEMA in a state which has perhaps the greatest dependence on federal storm relief efforts in the nation, a 3rd path has now emerged which could provide for some interesting election night television:

Path #3: Obama comes from behind to win Florida. This scenario would require only that Obama win the three states in which his present leads are widest (Wisconsin at 4.2%, Pennsylvania at 3.9%, and Michigan at 3.8%), resulting in 276 electoral votes.

For Romney to unseat Obama, he not only would have to hold the three states in which he presently leads, North Carolina, Florida, and Virginia bringing his electoral vote total to 248, but also steal victories in at least one of the following possible combinations from states currently leaning Obama, listed in descending order of likelihood based on the reverse engineering of current FiveThirtyEight numbers for election night chances of victory:

Path A: Romney steals both Ohio and Colorado resulting in 275 electoral votes (least unlikely outcome).

Path B: Romney steals both Ohio and New Hampshire resulting in 270 electoral votes.

Path C: Romney steals both Pennsylvania and Colorado resulting in 277 electoral votes.

Path D: Romney steals both Pennsylvania and New Hampshire resulting in 272 electoral votes (most unlikely).

Working against two of these scenarios (Paths A and B) are rising averaged polling numbers over the past two days for Obama in Ohio; however, in that same forty-eight hour period Romney has succeeded in reducing Obama's averaged leads in Pennsylvania, Colorado, and New Hampshire. Perhaps somewhat mystifyingly, the Romney campaign continues to make pronouncements alluding to their having embraced the "Pennsylvania Strategy" included in Paths 3 and 4 above, the two paths which have the least likely chance of success.

So, is this a bold strategic maneuver on the part of Eric Fehrnstrom or a feint designed to counter Obama's anticipated re-allocation of campaign resources to a quantifiably softening political landscape in Florida? If it's the latter, a review of the published travel schedules for the President and key Democrat surrogates in these final two days does not suggest the Obama campaign is taking the bait.

In any event, should Romney fail to steal either Ohio or Pennsylvania he could overcome this shortfall by capturing the four other states in which Obama's current leads are smallest (Colorado at 0.6%, New Hampshire at 1.5%, Iowa at 2.5%, and Nevada at 2.8%) resulting in an electoral vote total of 273.

FiveThirtyEight this morning estimates the chance of Election Day victory for each candidate as follows: Obama 85.1% (up significantly from Friday morning's 80.9%) and Romney 14.9% (down by a similar margin from Friday's 19.1%).

FiveThirtyEight now also projects that on Election Day the final electoral tally will be as follows: Obama 307 (up 8 from Wednesday's 299) and Romney 231 (down 8 from Wednesday's 239).

Lastly, although it makes no difference in terms of the final result which can only be determined by the Electoral College, FiveThirtyEight currently predicts a national popular vote distribution on Election Day as follows: Obama 50.6% (up from Thursday's 50.4%) and Romney 48.3% (down from Thursday's 48.6%).

With only 35 hours of campaigning left, and with Friday's published October jobs report playing to predictably mixed reviews (economy adding more jobs than expected; unemployment rate ticking up one tenth of one percent to 7.9%), holdout voters may now be left to nothing more than the proverbial 'feel in their gut' as Tuesday approaches.

Don't forget to stock up on the 7-layer dip for an exhilarating night of television on Tuesday!

SeekingSanity, I don't watch MTP and I don't miss it either.

I was watching CSPAN this morning and there was an author on asking if voters were stupid. He said the American voters historically are susceptible to propaganda and haven't the desire to look for the truth. There is so much lying going on and your average voter can't tell the difference between truth and lies.

He gave as an example the Iraq War. GWB's popularity went way up after 9/11 and the Bush Admin. then used that popularity as manipulation to sell the American people a war in Iraq.

None of which would be possible without the help and assistance of the inside the beltway crew.

Romney tells the truth 30.6% of the time.

Obama = 205 true or mostly true statements out of 452 checked statements.

Obama tells the truth 45.3% of the time.

"MITT ROMNEY'S CAMPAIGN INSULTS VOTERS"

JUST A SMALL SAMPLE HERE - YOU SHOULD READ THE WHOLE THING:

"

". . . And then there has been his chronic, baldly dishonest defense of mathematically impossible budget proposals. He promised to cut income tax rates without exploding the deficit or tilting the tax code toward the rich — but he refused to say how he could bring that off. When challenged, he cited “studies” that he maintained proved him right. But the studies were a mix of rhetoric, unrealistic growth projections and more serious economics that actually proved him wrong.

This last is important — maybe the crux of the next four years. History has shown that it’s a lot easier to cut taxes than to reduce spending. Republican presidents Ronald Reagan and George W. Bush promised to do both, managed to do only the first and (with plenty of help from Congress) greatly increased the national debt.

Now Mr. Romney promises to reduce income tax rates by one-fifth — for the rich, that means from 35 percent to 28 percent — and to raise defense spending while balancing the budget. To do so, he would reduce other spending — unspecified — and take away deductions — unspecified. One of the studies he cited, by Harvard economist Martin Feldstein, said Mr. Romney could make the tax math work by depriving every household earning $100,000 or more of all of its charitable deductions, mortgage-interest deductions and deductions for state and local income taxes. . . ."

It used to be called voodoo economics. The give away to the rich with supposed trickle down effects has been shown to be complete bull$#!&. Romney's economic plan is merely smoke and mirrors.

Here's what the non partisan Congressional Research Service has to say about cutting taxes to increase revenue. (Summary below)

Throughout the late-1940s and 1950s, the top marginal tax rate was typically above 90%; today it is 35%. Additionally, the top capital gains tax rate was 25% in the 1950s and 1960s, 35% in the 1970s; today it is 15%. The real GDP growth rate averaged 4.2% and real per capita GDP increased annually by 2.4% in the 1950s. In the 2000s, the average real GDP growth rate was 1.7% and real per capita GDP increased annually by less than 1%.

There is not conclusive evidence, however, to substantiate a clear relationship between the 65-year steady reduction in the top tax rates and economic growth. Analysis of such data suggests the reduction in the top tax rates have had little association with saving, investment, or productivity growth. However, the top tax rate reductions appear to be associated with the increasing concentration of income at the top of the income distribution.

The share of income accruing to the top 0.1% of U.S. families increased from 4.2% in 1945 to 12.3% by 2007 before falling to 9.2% due to the 2007-2009 recession. The evidence does not suggest necessarily a relationship between tax policy with regard to the top tax rates and the size of the economic pie, but there may be a relationship to how the economic pie is sliced.

Romney's whole economic platform is refuted by these findings, there is no way his tax cuts will bring the economy back. Senator Mitch McConnell (R) blocked the release of the Report. It surfaced again in the Nov 1 2012 New York Times.

Breaking News: Romney paid zero taxes from 1996 to 2009.

Thank you, Pat in Boston for the link. Harry Reid was right!

If Republicans had known this during the primaries, would they have nominated Mitt? Is this why they had to get a sacrifical lamb like Kid Ryan to run as VP? The experienced Republican leaders would have known this, because MCCain asked for 12 years of returns to vet Romney for VP back in 2008. McCain would have warned Gov. Chritie, Jeb Bush and other stars to steer clear of the VP slot.
Too bad nobody told the Republican primary voters.

CLINTON ENDORSES ROMNEY!

In an interview with CNN's "Piers Morgan Tonight," Bill Clinton, a top Obama surrogate who is set to raise cash with the president next week, directly contradicted Democrats who have attacked Romney's business record, suggesting it does qualify him for president.

"I think he had a good business career," Clinton told guest host Harvey Weinstein, a movie mogul who is one of Obama's top fundraisers. "There's no question that in terms of getting up and going to the office and, you know, basically performing the essential functions of the office, the man who has been governor and had a sterling business career crosses the qualification threshold."

Adding that he has "friends" in the private equity business," Clinton suggested it was dangerous for Democrats to go after Romney's record at Bain Capital—adding that in private equity, "like everything else you try, you don't always succeed" in saving companies or making them more productive.

"I don't think that we ought to get into the position where we say this is bad work," Clinton said. "This is good work."

Thank you Bill Clinton, your endorsement proves Romney is the right choice for America.

Greed isn’t someone wanting to keep more of what they earn, its people demanding a greater share of money that someone else has earned.

Any opinions on Ryan's chances of retaining his House seat?

MSNBCMFE,

I don't have my ear to the ground on what's happening up there. All I will say is how sweet would it be if Lyin/Ryan was out of work compliments of Willard?

I can report, Tammy Duckworth maintains a 10 point lead over the dead-beat daddy Joe Walsh here in my district!

@Pat Boston:

Great link to a finding on Romney and his taxes. I believe the headline may be a bit misleading. While it is clear that Romney paid 0 taxes on this tax loophole allowing him to avoid paying taxes on millions while still earning income, I'm not sure it translates to 0 tax liability for those years. That being said, we can only assume that this is one of many tax evasions used by Romney that he did not want disclosed, and was hiding from the American public by refusing to publish his tax returns.

Is it a credibility issue this late in the campaign - probably not. Romney voters have already seen how deceptive Romney is, and they have made it clear they will vote for a deceptive leader over Obama. Conservatives proved this when they elected Bush for a second term, even though he lied through his teeth over the WMDs in Iraq. Hell, if Nixon hadn't resigned, they would have re-elected him as well. To hard right conservatives, a strong moral compass is a weakness.

Backhouse -- Sandy was the October Surprise, following the RNC postponing their convention due to extreme weather. Sandy proves climate change science, per a report over two years ago predicting exactly what has happened in the North East.

The comments Romney made about FEMA are idiotic, but his snark in his speech saying "President Obama promised to begin to slow the rise of the oceans" are just more proof of Romney's tragic incompetency. The anti-science rightwing Flat Earth society is what will doom us all.

The mind-bending remarks by Rush Limbaugh showing his stupidity about birth control, which he confuses with his Viagra that he takes each time before sex (sorry -- disgusting, I know), on to Todd Akin's quackery about how women can't get pregnant from "legitimate" rape, and Mourdock who believes God makes women pregnant -- Paul Ryan believes these things, and Romney who has no core is controlled by these Puritans who want to go back to the days of the witch trials.

But Romney's taxes -- Too bad this wasn't out before early voting, and too bad it isn't breaking news on every outlet including FAUX Noise!

Romney Avoids Taxes via Loophole Cutting Mormon Donations

NOW IT IS OUT! Romney paid ZERO taxes from 1996 – 2009

http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2012-10-29/romney-avoids-taxes-via-loophole-cutting-mormon-donations.html

This is not so much an October Surprise as it is the October Inconvenient Truth proved at the last hour.

These Republican jagoffs will suppress not only the vote, but FACTS like the urgent need to start preparing for extreme weather disasters, or the Congressional Research Service Report that proves tax cuts for the rich only creates more inequity and therefore actually damages the economy.

They suppress science like climate change because it proves the important role of government. Anyone who thinks the private sector is going to protect us is crazy -- The rightwingers in Big Oil and Wall Street will do just the opposite, with Romney the Plutocrat leading the way.

Wake Up and "shut the whole thing down" -- Vote a straight Democratic ticket. Save yourself, save your children, save this great nation. Obama/Biden 2012, Hillary Clinton 2016!

I was reminded of this quote by John Adams at the Obama Diary yesterday. And this quote is the essense of who President Barack Obama is.

“Government is instituted for the common good; for the protection, safety, prosperity, and happiness of the people; and not for profit, honor, or private interest of any one man, family, or class of men.”

__________

For every republican you see on tv, please remember when you vote that they believe in the exact opposite of Adams' words. They are in this for themselves. They hide behind the word "conservative", yet that is not who they are.

They don't care who makes it and who doesn't. So long as they personally do. "Conservative" to them means all of us getting by with less while at the same time, all of us paying for their tax cuts.

CHRYSLER CONSIDERS MOVING JEEP OFFSHORE!!!!!

Well it appears that the taxpayer bailed-out Chrysler is looking back and now considering cutting costs by shifting production of all Jeeps to China, which has a strong desire for Jeeps.

In a Bloomberg interview, Jeep's president said the automaker plans to restore Jeep production in China, suspended in 2009, and is considering making all Jeeps in China. "Fiat SpA, majority owner of Chrysler Group LLC, plans to return Jeep output to China and may eventually make all of its models in that country, according to the head of both automakers' operations in the region," reported the business wire service.

Mike Manley, chief operating officer of Fiat and Chrysler in Asia and president of the Jeep brand, told Bloomberg, "We're reviewing the opportunities within existing capacity" as well as "should we be localizing the entire Jeep portfolio or some of the Jeep portfolio" to China.

Chrysler builds Jeep SUV models at plants in Michigan, Illinois and Ohio. Manley said the firm is in talks with China's Guangzhou Automobile Group Co.

Fiat SpA (F), majority owner of Chrysler Group LLC, plans to return Jeep output to China and may eventually make all of its models in that country, according to the head of both automakers’ operations in the region.

Fiat is in “very detailed conversations” with its Chinese partner, Guangzhou Automobile Group Co. (2238), about making Jeeps in the world’s largest auto market, said Mike Manley, chief operating officer of Fiat and Chrysler in Asia. Chrysler hasn’t built Jeeps there since before Fiat took control in 2009.

http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2012-10-21/fiat-says-china-may-build-all-jeep-models-as-suv-demand-climbs.html

In another potential blow for the president's Ohio reelection campaign, Jeep, the rugged brand President Obama once said symbolized American freedom, is considering giving up on the United States and shifting production to China.

Such a move would crash the economy in towns like Toledo, Ohio, where Jeeps are made and supplied, and rob the community of the economic security they thought Obama's auto bailout assured them.

http://townhall.com/tipsheet/katiepavlich/2012/10/25/chrysler_alive_but_jeep_about_to_shift_production_to_china

Michigan, 22 Oct. (AKI/Bloomberg) - Italian car gian Fiat, which controls the Chrysler Group plans to return Jeep output to China and may eventually make all of its models in that country, according to the head of both automakers’ operations in the region.

“The volume opportunity for us is very significant,” Manley, who is also president of the Jeep brand, said in an interview at Chrysler’s Auburn Hills, Michigan, headquarters.

“We’re reviewing the opportunities within existing capacity” as well as “should we be localizing the entire Jeep portfolio or some of the Jeep portfolio.”

Chrysler, which entered an alliance with Turin, Italy-based Fiat as part of its US-government-backed bankruptcy, is relying on growth in China to counter weakness in Europe’s auto market. The carmaker is targeting 500,000 annual sales outside North America by 2014, more than triple its overseas deliveries in 2009.

HAHAHAHA!

Turn off the lights... the parties over!

Crawford starts by noting the change in disposition of Mitt Romney’s wife Ann: “Delivering a basket of baked goods to the press on the campaign plane this morning before takeoff for Iowa, Ann Romney – normally relentlessly sunny and confident – appeared emotional, almost vulnerable, as she reminisced about the all consuming campaign and reflected on its uncertain closing days.

That’s wholly understandable – the toll these campaigns have on candidates and their families are horrendous.

But what’s more telling are a series of quotes from Romney campaign officials. Again, there are the normal caveats about the private polling showing their man holding onto a tight lead.

But then we get this: “At a rally this morning in New Hampshire, I asked a senior Mitt Romney campaign adviser what the campaign had planned in the final crucial days. His answer was swift. 'Praying'.”

And this: “One adviser this morning was even more candid: "I'm not saying (Mr. Obama) is definitely going to lose."

And finally this: "We're the challengers. We always knew we could lose," one aide told me here in Dubuque. "They [the Obama camp] never contemplated they could lose."

Mitt Romney’s lost the election. His own campaign team is starting to admit that to the world. Perhaps more importantly, they’re starting to admit it to themselves.

But in Ohio - perhaps the single most crucial swing state and where 18 electoral votes are at stake - Obama had 48 percent compared to Romney's 44 percent. On Saturday, Obama was ahead in Ohio by a point in the same poll.

"It's really a game of inches. It's extremely close, but things look pretty optimistic for Obama, I would say, if you do the electoral math," said Ipsos pollster Julia Clark.

"Looking over the last few days, Ohio does seem to be more comfortably on the Obama side."

OBAMA’S JOBS COST $200,000 EACH AND ONLY PAY $25,000 EACH.

60% of the jobs lost were good mid-wage paying jobs, 58% of Barrack Husseins jobs are low-wage jobs replacing them.

Forward?

Seems more like REARWARD!

Obama aide explains 'voting is best revenge' comment.

Obama cites gains of more than 5 million new jobs since he took.

Hmmmm, 5 million jobs.

We The People are on the hook for the $863 billion $timulu$. Remember, this is borrowed money. For this "investment" we have allegedly been blesses with these 5 million jobs. Simple math shows this has cost us over $200,000 per job. If this isn't enough to outrage you about Keynesianism, you are hopelessly indoctrinated.

Now, let me educate you about what types of jobs your $200,000 investment are being created.

Although six in 10 jobs lost during the Great Recession paid mid-level wages, the majority of new jobs created in the recovery -- positions such as store clerks, laborers and home healthcare aides -- pay much less, according to a new study by the National Employment Law Project.

The study covered jobs created from the first quarter of 2010 through the first quarter of 2012.

Lower-paying jobs, with median hourly wages from $7.69 to $13.83, accounted for just 21% of the job losses during the recession. But they've made up about 58% of the job growth from the end of the recession in late 2009 through early 2012.

Those jobs have been concentrated in three industries: food services, retail and employment services, such as office clerks and customer service representatives, the study found.

In contrast, mid-wage occupations with median hourly wages from $13.84 to $21.13 -- jobs such as construction workers, real estate brokers, and data entry clerks -- have accounted for just 22% of the new jobs in the recovery after making up 60% of the job losses in the recession.

So, we're paying $200,000 to create jobs making $25,000 a year. I'm not an economist but it would seem like our return on investment isn't very good.

THESE ARE THE "GREEN SHOOTS", THE "RECOVERY SUMMER" AND WHAT "FOCUSED LIKE A LASER" GIVES US.

Greed isn’t someone wanting to keep more of what they earn, its people demanding a greater share of money that someone else has earned.

I'll vote for anyone who will try to improve my standard of living ...without destroying someone else’s!

The President said that he would bring the nation together. That did not work.

The President said that he could work with the opposition party by reaching across the isle. That did not work.

The President said that his administration would be free from lobbyists. That did not work.

The President said that his administration would be the most transparent ever. That did not work.

The President said that he would fix the economy within three years. That did not work.

The President said that his health care bill would lower health care costs. That did not work.

The President said that he would not raise taxes on 95% of Americans in any way. That did not work.

The President said that his stimulus spending bill would solve our employment problem. That did not work.

The President said that he would cut the deficit in half by the end of his first term. That did not work.

I see a pattern here. The President said that if he could not fix the economy within three year that he did not deserve a second term. The President also said:

The fact that we are here today to debate raising America’s debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. It is a sign that the U.S. Government can’t pay its own bills. It is a sign that we now depend on ongoing financial assistance from foreign countries to finance our Government’s reckless fiscal policies.

And the cost of our debt is one of the fastest growing expenses in the Federal budget. This rising debt is a hidden domestic enemy, robbing our cities and States of critical investments in infrastructure like bridges, ports, and levees; robbing our families and our children of critical investments in education and health care reform; robbing our seniors of the retirement and health security they have counted on.

Every dollar we pay in interest is a dollar that is not going to investment in America’s priorities. Instead, interest payments are a significant tax on all Americans–a debt tax that Washington doesn’t want to talk about. If Washington were serious about honest tax relief in this country, we would see an effort to reduce our national debt by returning to responsible fiscal policies.

Increasing America’s debt weakens us domestically and internationally. Leadership means that “the buck stops here. Instead, Washington is shifting the burden of bad choices today onto the backs of our children and grandchildren. America has a debt problem and a failure of leadership. Americans deserve better.

Romney avoiding taxes with that loophole is so minor in the scheme of things. When compared to his whole economic platform being declared a fantasy (paraphrasing) by the non partisan congressional research service, Romney's personal taxes are small potatos.

Trickle down doesn't trickle anywhere. It stays with the 1%.

Pat Boston MA.

My hope is that Rick Scott's voter suppression will backfire, though the suppression of registration, purging the voter rolls, and ballots mailed to the wrong addresses etc. will be tough to overcome. So the last backfire that remains is to see Rick Scott voted out!

Rick Scott ousted, along with Kasich/Husted, Scott Walker (and other Republican Governors especially in swing states) is the revenge well deserved for the anti-democracy shenanigans they have been up to -- trying to steal the election -- again.

As for congress...

We have the satisfaction of saying b-bye to Joe Walsh, and probably Michele Bachman, Allen West, and other Teabag crazies. And hopefully rid our country of Eric Cantor and Paul Ryan in the Teapublican House as well. Did folks see Bachman laughed at in debates? Paul Ryan wouldn't even debate -- imagine that after hanging out with Media Blackout Romney.

Then in the Senate, we have the crazies Mourdock and Todd Akin of course, but Scott "Centerfold" Brown is likely to go (good riddance) and maybe Democrat Carmona can win in Arizona.

Carmona is such an excellent candidate -- Not only a former Surgeon General, but he served in the military, he is of Puerto Rican decent, etc., etc. Jeff Flake running against him is another Mormon fundamentalist and austerity Teabagger, gagh! Enough with the Sheriff Arpaio Birther crap and other rightwing idiocy.

Vote Democrat -- FORWARD!

Romney - TAX CHEAT Extraordinaire - Harry Reid was RIGHT

Using a tax shelter called a CRUT (charitable remainder unitrust) that was held by the Church of Latter Day Saints (Mormons), Mitt Romney was able to pay zero taxes (legally) every single year from 1996 to 2009. Why did he stop in 2009? Because he would make public his 2010 tax return, that is why.

This tax loophole was killed by Congress in 1997. However those including Romney that were already using it were allowed to continue it. The way it works, is that Romney makes a "charitable" contribution to the Church of Latter Day Saints and it goes into a trust. Since the trust is held by the church, the money is tax deferred. Any capital gains, are non taxed because of the charities status. Like an annuity, the donor gets a charitable tax deduction and an stream of cash payments. When Romney dies, the church accepts full ownership..

Bloomsberg's attorneys estimate as the Romneys have received these payments, the money that will potentially be left for charity has declined from at least $750,000 in 2001 to $421,203 at the end of 2011.....

Romney has refused to answer any thing on this topic. His campaign puts out that it was all legal....

Legal perhaps. Ethical for the president of the United States? Well, only if you want a crook running the country.... Imagine! Legally stealing from your church!.

2 more days and America will be rid on the great mistake of 2008.

So many have realized what a horrible mistake they made voting based on emotions rather than policy.

As real Americans vote to correct the incompetence of a junior senator whose only accomplishments were organizing a few picnics in Chicago and writing a couple books, about himself, we see the tide has turned to a real leader, Mitt Romney.

It's so sad to see so many Americans supporting a statist who promotes class-warfare in our nation. The nation built on Freedom, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness. So many submit to his advocacy of only being middle class rather than striving for more.

I don't know anyone who grows up wanting to be poor or middle-class, everyone wants to be rich someday. Of course in the statists mind the only wealth should be with the chosen few in government because they know what is best for everyone else.

Outlaw 16 oz. beverages. Shut down children’s lemonade stands for lack of permits. Free birth control so 30 year old professional student bimbo’s can have recreational sex at will. Name one thing that isn't taxed, regulated or subsidized.

America is no longer the land of the free and the home of the brave, it's the land of the herded and home of the scared. It's time to rid ourselves of this social/economic justice nonsense and expression crippling political correctness that Progressivism wreaks on us.

Barrack Hussein promotes mediocrity. Our great Republic was built on American exceptionalism. It's time to elect a leader who promotes that.

Greed isn’t someone wanting to keep more of what they earn, its people demanding a greater share of money that someone else has earned.

I'll vote for anyone who will try to improve my standard of living ...without destroying someone else’s!

    RedDevPS

    WOW Rev!!!!!!

I'm impressed. You actually researched something. Good for you. Most of the limp-wristed Libbies need to be spoon fed any information which just leaves them hopelessly lost in their momma's basement.

I'm glad you proved that they my points are accurate.

Now lemme ax you something. How do you feel about Barrack Hussein creating all these poverty level jobs? How do you feel about more and more of your hard earned tax dollars being wasted by our criminal government? I'm assuming you're like most of us and do pay some taxes. How do you feel that government has to spend $200,000 to "save or create" 5 million jobs most of which pay $25,000 a year?

Don't you think it would have been better to have taken the $863 billion of $timulu$ money and given each business $50,000 and told them they must hire someone for at least a year? If we just did that we would have created $17 million jobs. Don't you think that would have been better than Barrack Hussein's "trickle-down" version?

Yes, the $timulu$ was the epitome of "trickle-down" that you Libbies so despise. We poured $863 billion into the top of our massive bureaucratic government and hoped it would trickle-down to all those "shovel-ready" jobs.

    Remember?

Remember those shovel ready jobs that Barrack Hussein and our "Jobs Czar", Jeff Immelt, laughed in your face about as Barrack said, "Shovel-ready was not as ... uh .. shovel-ready as we expected?" Sure you remember. It was an insult wasn't it? But as usual, you Libbies just shrugged your shoulders because most of you don't contribute to our governments funding anyway.

Deny it as much as you Libbies want, you know Clinton endorsed Romney as presidential. He even admitted he has FRIENDS in equity investments and he understands how they work and are beneficial. Unfortunately Barrack Hussein doesn't. If he was so worried about outsourcing and offshoring he would have never hired Jeff Immelt from GE. You know, General Electric, the multinational conglomerate that has sent more jobs overseas in the past 10 years than anyone other than Apple.

Have you heard about GE touting themselves as champions of the factory worker? Of course you have. GE has also recently closed more than 20 factories, shifted avionics and radiology businesses to China according to Reuters, and pushed for public policies that will allow them to continue that course.

GE is self-identifying "core" manufacturing interests, as though its other manufacturing interests simply vanished from the books. The truth is, they closed many of those plants here in America. According to GE's own records and statements, it had 125,000 U.S. manufacturing jobs in 2000 compared to 50,000 in 2010.

Government records show at least 38 events since 2001 in which workers at GE plants in the U.S. were made eligible for trade adjustment assistance (TAA) due to outsourcing or import competition.

Immelt has referred to China as GE's "second home market"

Hmmmmmm, China is GE's second home market. Go figure.

Where is the Liberal outrage about this? Where are all the calls for boycotts? Where is the demand that he be removed as the chairman of the Council on Jobs and Competitiveness? Of course you Libbies won't say anything because he's one of Barrack Husseins cronies, right?

We won't even talk about GE’s involvement with Iran in the past. This all comes despite the fact that Iran is one of the seven nations listed by the State Department as a state sponsor of terror since 2001. A Canadian subsidiary of GE has provided Iran with four hydroelectric generators to expand a dam along the Kuran River. And an Italian subsidiary of GE supplied pipeline equipment and gas turbines for Iran’s oil industry.

Anyway, I'm sure you'll come up with some cutesy excuses for all this, but we all know deep down inside you're just as pi$$ed about this embarrassment of a president as all of us real Americans. You've just been indoctrinated into believing the best you can be is mediocre.

This is what Barrack Hussein wants. He doesn't want you to be rich or successful, he just wants you to be middle-class. Now, not that there's anything wrong with being middle class, most of us are. But don't you think a president should be encouraging every American to be rich? To be as successful as possible?

    To be exceptional?

How many times have you heard Barrack Hussein say he wants Americans to be rich? Has he ever? No! Why not? Why doesn't the leader of the wealthiest nation and biggest economy in history not want you to be rich or successful? Now, don't embarrass yourself and start with the typical bleeding-heart drivel about "there are different levels of success and wealth".

    Bulls**t!!!

Everybody grows up wanting to be rich. Like I've said above, nobody buys a "Get Poor Quick" book. Nobody buys a "Get Middle-Class Quick" book. But I bet you, and most people, have read a "Get Rich Quick" book or article. I bet you've bought a "PowerBall" lottery ticket. We don't do this to be poor or middle class.

Of course not everyone can be rich. But shouldn't the leader of a nation as wealthy, as prosperous as ours be an advocate for as much success as possible?

Instead, Barrack hussein demonizes wealth and glamorizes mediocrity.

Why do you think he does this?

    Because it's easy.

It's easier to bring people down than it is to lift them up. It's easier to demand that the successful just give their hard earned money to the middle class and poor. It's hard to make everyone wealthier, more prosperous and to improve everyone’s standard of living. Barrack Hussein admits he can't do this.

He blathers about "fairness" and some mythical "even playing field". As much as these are wonderful talking points, they're impossible to attain. Why? Because no one can define either of those qualities. What you may think is fair, I may not. You may say that the rich should pay more, redistribute the wealth more. Well my do-nothing brother-in-law thinks you should pay more too. Do you consider that fair? Is that a "level playing field"?

As I and many others have said, America's greatness did not come from our government or the unions. It came from American exceptionalism. The exceptionalism that gave us giants such as Edison, Carnegie, Vanderbilt, Ford, the Wright Brothers and hundreds of other visionaries and entrepreneurs.

Most, 80%, of all millionaires are first generation. They didn't inherit their wealth, they didn't get lucky, they didn't know a bunch of people that gave them money, they worked for it. They're not all CEO's of Fortune 500 conglomerates, they're your neighbor. The guy across the street that owns a car repair shop, the guy that owns the bakery in town, the guy that works as an IT consultant. They're not millionaires simply because they have a business or better paying job, it's because they work hard, are frugal and know how to invest. These are principles anyone can follow.

I don’t want anyone to give me their hard earned money anymore than you do. I don’t care if someone is rich, I admire them because, remember, we all wanna be rich despite Barrack Husseins rhetoric. We have fundamental and structural defects in our economy. We are limping along in a 20th century mindset built around Keynesianism, which has never worked, and Progressive ideologies that are crippling our ability to grow, as the world is passing us by in the 21st century reality.

We need leadership built around everyone working and having the ability to succeed. Instead we’re being told that someone else should work hard and just forfeit their wealth to those that don’t work. We’ve tried this for 47 years with the “war on poverty” and it has failed miserably. We have spent over $17 trillion dollars on this “war” and we have lost.

We don’t need more government. We need a smaller much more efficient government that gets out of the way of entrepreneurs, visionaries and trail blazers and allows them to create the new commerce we need to compete with the other 6.7 billion people on this earth.

Governments job is to provide our safety and to protect us. The free-market with an educated populace will take care of the rest. Barrack Hussein doesn’t understand this because he never created a job. His ideology comes from an elitist faculty-lounge mentality that has never created commerce. This is no longer acceptable.

We need leadership from experience. The decision should be simple.

Greed isn’t someone wanting to keep more of what they earn, its people demanding a greater share of money that someone else has earned.

I'll vote for anyone who will try to improve my standard of living ...without destroying someone else’s!

I read the President's economic plan for the next four years. The Plan is devoid of detail to include budget. It appears to be primarily a wish list. It seems that the President wants the federal government to spend a lot of money that it does not have to train math and science teacher's to teach vocational classes at the JC level for jobs that do not really exist in this country. Foreign manufacturers are paying their workers roughly a tenth of the minimum that our workers require and that is why they can always beat domestic manufactures on price. Neither candidate seems to have a solution for this problem. It is our huge trade deficit that is degrading efforts to revive the economy by injecting more money.

In many states, state colleges and universities are having to raise tuition to make ends meet because of tighter state budgets. The President wants to withdrew federal funding from these schools so that they either have to raise tuition even more or close down facilities. The President thinks that this effort will help improve the quality of education in America.

The President is expecting to pass his increased taxes on the "Rich". He has been trying to do that for the past four years but he somehow thinks the can prevail in the next 4 years. This tax will at best take 100 billion dollars per year from the private sector and put it into the public sector. The President promised that the 2012 federal deficit would not exceed 229.27 billion dollars yet the actual deficit exceeded 1.1 trillion dollars so his efforts to date to cut the deficit have been less than successful. He is proposing more spending and unspecified cuts and which has been provided it is impossible that any actually deficit reduction will take place. So I am looking at a nominal annual deficit of 1 trillion dollars assuming the increased taxes on the "rich" passes.

At the heart of the President's plan is the idea of bringing the troops home in 2014 and with the savings use half of it to start paying down our debt and use the other half for infrastructure improvements. To start paying down the debt the federal government has to run a surplus. To run a surplus with half of the piece dividend, the federal government will have to realize a savings of more than 2 trillion dollars per year from bringing the troops home. That amount is more than twice a s much as we are paying for defense including all overseas operations. The President's plan is mathematically impossible. Mathematically impossible plans are at the least less than viable. The President's plan is an example of fantasy economics.

My biggest concern is all the debt that our federal government has been accumulating. With a debt or more than 16 trillion dollars and huge deficits predicted for at least another decade, I estimate that the money that the federal government is borrowing today will end up costing the tax payers more than 10 times the amount borrowed to repay over the next 180 years. Paying 10 times the going rate for goods and services is not good management. The President has yet to present a detailed plan for repaying the debt. The tax payers have a right to know how much all of this federal borrowing to going to end up costing them.

    Just a sampling here:

Back door: A cornhole that goes over the top of a blocker and into the hole.

Cornhole or Drāno: A bag falls in the hole, which is worth three points
Dirty bag: A bag that is on the ground or is hanging off the board touching the ground.
Hooker: A bag hitting the board and hooking or curving around a blocker and going in the hole.

Swish: A bag that goes directly in the hole without touching the board.

        Paul Krugman

The Nobel Prize-winning economist wrote in a New York Times blog post in August: "Romney’s tax plan is now a demonstrated fraud — big tax cuts for the rich that he claims would be offset by closing loopholes, but the Tax Policy Center has demonstrated that the arithmetic can’t possibly work."

        Matt Taibbi

Matt Taibbi, contributing editor to Rolling Stone, wrote in a recent blog post : "If you're going to offer an across-the-board 20 percent tax cut without explaining how it's getting paid for, hell, why stop there? Why not just offer everyone over 18 a 1965 Mustang? Why not promise every child a Zagnut and an Xbox, or compatible mates for every lonely single person?"

        Larry Summers

Harvard economist Larry Summers, a former top adviser to President Barack Obama, recently compared Mitt Romney's tax plan to a hamburger and ice cream diet. He said: "It’s easy to say that 'My plan is to eat ice cream sundaes and chocolate cake and hamburgers as much as I want, my plan is to lose 60 pounds, and my plan is to avoid painful exercise, and those are all my objectives and I'm committed to every one of them.'"

        The Tax Policy Center

The Tax Policy Center , a nonpartisan, nonprofit think tank, recently concluded that Mitt Romney's tax plan is mathematically impossible without raising taxes on the middle class.

        Josh Barro

Bloomberg View columnist Josh Barro wrote in a recent column that the six studies that the Romney campaign uses to claim the candidate's tax plan is mathematically possible "individually and collectively...fail the task."

        Mark Zandi

Mark Zandi , chief economist at Moody's Analytics, recently said on CNN that when it comes to Romney's tax plan, "the arithmetic doesn't work as it is right now."

        Ezra Klein

Washington Post columnist Ezra Klein wrote in August that "the Tax Policy Center’s analysis has removed all doubt" that Romney's tax plan is mathematically impossible.

        David Frum

David Frum , contributing editor at Newsweek and The Daily Beast, recently wrote: "Romney's tax cut plan doesn't work. I'm a Republican, I support Romney, etc. But you can't cut that much in such a stagnant economy and expect to break even. Even with a deductions cap, it just won't happen."

        Catherine Rampell

Catherine Rampell, economics reporter at The New York Times, wrote of the Romney campaign's tax promises in a recent blog post: "Not all of those principles can coexist so long as basic arithmetic survives."

High rolla - some people consider drug dealers good businessmen too! After all the mark up on their product and the profit margins they gain dwarf those of the most successful corporations anywhere in the world. I don't expect you to understand this because your grammar/spelling is atrocious. Just want to let you know that not all successful businessmen make good leaders. Romney is a proven liar and only the misguided believe him. The rest of the people that will vote for him aren't really voting for him so much as voting against the President.

I will give you an example of government math. Ok if you are service connected on 2 different diasabilties and one is 60% and the other os 40% that = 100%. Not by Government math its not 100% but 80%. If you would do some fact checking you would see that Romney has been a business man all his life. Hes had some government work but if your to stupid to not know hes a been a businessman then bless your heart. AFter Obama liEd to us for 2 weeks about the terroist attacks I cant see callinG Mitt a lie is going to benefit you. Obama even admitted he lied in the 2nd debate by telling us he indeed knew it was a terroist attack.

          #12.6 - Sun Nov 4, 2012 3:52 PM EST

High rolla - Romney is NOT a businessman - he's a shyster at best. The jobs he's "created" are minimum wage and no one could live on them. His "business" has been to stuff as much money in his own pockets as possible and he doesn't give a damn about the people he's hurt.

He is not FIT to lead our country. Obama NEVER LIED IN THE 2ND debate. The records show he called it a terroris attack.

When all you've got for your candidate is lies - you should know you're backing a loser. Romney is a liar and a loser.

Its just simple math Romney gave more out of his own pocket than Obama/ Biden. Soeedy to break it to you but that is indisputable fact that he cares more. I suspect he had, probably unknowingly, an "illegal" account at the United Bank of Switzerland (UBS), which was closed in 2009, along with the filing of amneded returns paying back taxes and penalties, in conjunction with an IRS program for immunity from prosecution.

I suspect he opened this account in 2003, at the request of a Republican friend, ex-Senator Phil Gramm, who also may not have known of the illegal nature of the accounts. Gramm went to work for UBS, as their Vice Chairman of Investment Banking for North America, in 2003, the same year the Romney account was opened.

Since the account was closed, back taxes paid, penalties paid, etc., it would not be "illegal," but just a pubic embarrassment.

I don't think he will go to jail if he took advantage of the IRS amnesty program. He would have paid all back taxes, penalties & interest , thus avoiding prosecution. Of course there could be other tax issues that may not have been part of the amnesty. Interesting development. This information should not have come from IRS. All of our tax records are private.

Agreed. And, it's only conjecture, based on an interview his trust attorney gave the NYT in the early part of the year...i.e. that it was an account at UBS, opened in 2003, and subsequently closed. Separately, UBS DID start the subject program in 2003, and confessed guilt, agreeing to a $780 million fine, along with turning the names of some 5,000 account holders over to the IRS. On their part, the IRS agreed to grant immunity from prosecution to those who came forward voluntarily BEFORE the IRS received the names, and paid back taxes and fines (the IRS estimated the total number of accounts was around 52,000), based on amended filings.

McCain saw many years of Romney's taxes and chose Palin as his VP.

Not good enough to be VP and then the republicans try and pass Romney off as presidential material.

Of course Romney hide his taxes so we wouldn't know what McCain saw that made him choose someone else.

Hell I think Biden gave like.05% in 2011. It really showws how stupid people are that dont know that churches give to the needy. So therfore giving to the church is a good thing to do. ROMNEY IS ATTEMPTING TO CONTROL THE MESSAGE IN THESE FINAL DAYS WITH AN EXCESS OF ADVERTISEMENT AND PAID BLOGGERS. DO NOT BELIEVE THE GOP'S FALSE CONFIDENCE.

The GOP are using their main strength,....MONEY,...financial backing,...SUPER PACS $$$

We must fight the overpowering influence and corruption of private interests.

NOW is the time to stand up and be counted !!!!!

Get out and vote,...and vote your conscience. THINK,...don't react to ads.

It has been typical of the GOP/right wing to confidently tell everyone that they want what they do not,...since the beginning of the Obama administration.

That is the nature of propaganda. Telling half of the truth as if it is all there is to hear or consider.

They knew Obama would support social change and vie for the interests of the people,...and that would get in the way of the bottom lines of the wealthy masters they serve.

Anyone who has been paying attention knows that the GOP is all about corporate welfare,...and that Romney/Ryan will gladly dismantle the entire social safety net,...repeal Roe vs Wade,....and further empower corporate America to become the defacto rulers of the country, dismantling the middle class and funneling as much wealth as possible to the top few percent of wealthy Americans.

Check the numbers,...THAT is what has been happening to us for years.

They will continue and accelerate the growing gap in earnings. Prepare to work longer and harder for less,...until you are very old indeed. I would SERIOUSLY consider the fate of your children under the policies being offered by Romney/Ryan,...unless of course you are sure that they will be millionaires.

Sure there are stagnant wages and fewer benefits for most,...but wages and bonuses for top management are soaring.

I find it hard to believe that Romney is able to convince so many to vote against their own self-interest.

I think we may find that the race isn't as close as Romney has paid for and would have you believe.

He's BUYING the election,...flooding the airwaves with the repetition of false promises,...a platform very different than that he promoted during his run for the Republican nomination (designed to get votes - "SURPRISE"),...and lies and half truths about president Obama.

I am quite sure that Romney/Ryan will do as they promised during the RNC if elected. They do not have the concern for the people that they are projecting to get votes. The middle class will be TOAST !!!

Are we still a country or are we becoming nothing more than a corporate interest ??!!!

WE NEED A PRESIDENT to lead a nation,...NOT A CEO/CFO to siphon off wealth for top management.

These are two VERY different jobs. THINK about what you are asking for BEFORE you vote.

On Tuesday, November 6th,...vote for "WE THE PEOPLE" : Vote for Barack Obama and Joe Biden

ROMNEY IS ATTEMPTING TO CONTROL THE MESSAGE IN THESE FINAL DAYS WITH AN EXCESS OF ADVERTISEMENT AND PAID BLOGGERS. DO NOT BELIEVE THE GOP'S FALSE CONFIDENCE

That's really funny - "paid Republican bloggers" - considering I've read several identical posts from other stories comment areas here as well. LOOOOONG POSTS; CUT AND PASTE POSTS; I DON'T HAVE TO THINK ABOUT WHAT I'M SUPPOSED TO SAY POSTS! And what is "AN EXCESS OF ADVERTISEMENT"? Does that mean that Obama is running out of money? Or is he just not going to spend it, as he can keep what he doesn't use if he loses?

Reading this stuff is like watching a group of especially moronic monkees grooming each other.

The bottom line is that "Romulian Romney" is a big Tax Cheat with no sense of ethical behavior. The IRS is going after him big time for Tax Fraud, and there is nothing Earth that wiil stop an IRS Audit. The GOP/TeaBeggers can obstruct, lie, and deny all they want. Their choice for President will be in the Big House, and not in the White House. As for little "Richie Rich" Ryan? He will be somewhere in Wisconsin playing with his calculator, and eating his crayons. Again!

I dont understand why a man would give more in charity than he would have paid in taxes. The idea that he is a tax cheat just dont add up. Hes has gave 10 times ass much as Obama/Biden have. Its really very farfetched to think a man with the chacter of Mitt Romney is a thief. Look at Obama /BIDEN they dont give hardly any of their own money to charity.

We all know how the mormon charity system works. It is passed around to other mormons and is not directly givien to the church to spend on charities. Romney is a thief and a cheat. He gives to his church while avoiding paying taxes by hiding his money and investments outside the U.S. I'm confident he has not reported all of his money as it is hidden in these foreign banks under the disguise of his investments being run by an entity other than himself even though he controls their actions. What a scheme for the rich we have. Romney has no character or morals.

It dont make since he gave away his inhertaince worked for free as gov ran the olympics for free. If you dont like his polices just say so no need to slander sombody. No thief is going to give away as much money as Romney has. Joe Biden only gave like .05% of his own money to charity. You say Romney has no morals then since Obama and Biden have gave far less than Romney they have less character than Romney. You cant factual say Obama /Biden have chacater when they have gave less its factual impossible.
