Biden zings Romney in Colo.

Vice President Joe Biden speaks at a campaign rally in Arvada, Colorado criticizing Romney's policies towards China as 'malarkey'.

ARVADA, Colo. -- Ka-zing.

Three days before the election, Vice President Joe Biden pegged his newest critique of Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney to the semi-annual inconvenience of adjusting clocks for Daylight Savings Time, which occurs tonight.

"It’s Mitt Romney’s favorite time of the year -- because he gets to turn the clock back!" Biden told a crowd of hundreds at a suburban Denver high school.

In his remarks, the vice president accused Romney of embracing social policies out of an earlier era, pointedly noting the GOP nominee's voiced enthusiasm for "getting rid of" Planned Parenthood.

"With all the issues facing the country, Gov. Romney has focused on for the last three months [that] he's going to get rid of Planned Parenthood" Biden said. "And by the way, he doesn't even know he doesn't control Planned Parenthood."

"He should talk to Big Bird!" he added, referencing the scuffle over public broadcasting funding that broke out during one of the presidential debates.

(In context, Romney said last spring he was going to "get rid" of federal funding for Planned Parenthood, not get rid of the entity itself.)

Biden has two events scheduled in swing state Colorado Saturday. He will campaign Sunday in Ohio.

Enough already with all the speculation. In 72 short hours we will know just how foolish the american public actually is. Will we continue down the road to socialism? Or take a detour back to the country we need to be?

My prediction is that Obama wins. Why? Because the Genie is out of the bottle and it will never be put back. Illegals voting, ballot fraud and New Black Panther intimidation. Your America has been ceded to the less fortunate, let's see how they take care of it.

It is really sad and pathetic all those baseless comments about Pres Obama...he was a community organizer - well at least he tried to help the less fortunate...that he has had to endure all those baseless- ignorant- racist comments from the right says a lot about the character of the man...all the tea party and the republican has shown is how much racism and hatred still abounds in the US...grow up!!! Before you speak, read, do your research, but just don't do your research listening to the Rush Limbaughs or Fox news...they are making $$$$ spreading lies and hate to people like the tea baggers and ignorant republicans...

It's just about where we are. WE are in a mess 16 T Debt and growing by 1.1T annually, 23 M unemployed.

We created 170,000 jobs last month. That isn't enough to hire the 4 M new grads we have every year.

Obama's plan more of the same.

                      Hope and Change...

The change began 4 years ago, and it's been slow, but it is changing.

Obama's first two years has been dealing with:

                      >two unpaid wars,

                      >the worst economic depression in 80 years,

                      >a broken national health care system,

                      >the battered international reputation of the United States,

                      >a horrific job market crash

                      >the total recovery of the Detroit automotive industry,

                      >the withdrawal of American forces from Afghanistan and Iraq

I really don't believe Mr Romney could have done any better, considering the circumstances.

Enough of the blame game people, it holds no water.

I'm satisfied that President Obama has put his priorities into avoiding another great depression.

So, into the future we go.

I am concerned that so many experts refute Romney's plan:

                      FactCheck.org

The Tax Foundation analysis found that assuming an extra 1 percent economic growth, those making over $1 million would get a cut of $113,792, while middle-income households making between $50,000 and $75,000 a year would see an average cut of $36.

                      Paul Krugman

The Nobel Prize-winning economist wrote in a New York Times blog post in August: "Romney’s tax plan is now a demonstrated fraud — big tax cuts for the rich that he claims would be offset by closing loopholes, but the Tax Policy Center has demonstrated that the arithmetic can’t possibly work."

                      Matt Taibbi

Matt Taibbi, contributing editor to Rolling Stone, wrote in a recent blog post : "If you're going to offer an across-the-board 20 percent tax cut without explaining how it's getting paid for, hell, why stop there? Why not just offer everyone over 18 a 1965 Mustang? Why not promise every child a Zagnut and an Xbox, or compatible mates for every lonely single person?"

                      Larry Summers

Harvard economist Larry Summers, a former top adviser to President Barack Obama, recently compared Mitt Romney's tax plan to a hamburger and ice cream diet. He said: "It’s easy to say that 'My plan is to eat ice cream sundaes and chocolate cake and hamburgers as much as I want, my plan is to lose 60 pounds, and my plan is to avoid painful exercise, and those are all my objectives and I'm committed to every one of them.'"

                      The Tax Policy Center

The Tax Policy Center, a nonpartisan, nonprofit think tank, recently concluded that Mitt Romney's tax plan is mathematically impossible without raising taxes on the middle class.

                      Josh Barro

Bloomberg View columnist Josh Barro wrote in a recent column that the six studies that the Romney campaign uses to claim the candidate's tax plan is mathematically possible "individually and collectively...fail the task."

                      Mark Zandi

Mark Zandi, chief economist at Moody's Analytics, recently said on CNN that when it comes to Romney's tax plan, "the arithmetic doesn't work as it is right now."

                      Ezra Klein

Washington Post columnist Ezra Klein wrote in August that "the Tax Policy Center’s analysis has removed all doubt" that Romney's tax plan is mathematically impossible.

                      David Frum

David Frum, contributing editor at Newsweek and The Daily Beast, recently wrote: "Romney's tax cut plan doesn't work. I'm a Republican, I support Romney, etc. But you can't cut that much in such a stagnant economy and expect to break even. Even with a deductions cap, it just won't happen."

                      Catherine Rampell

Catherine Rampell, economics reporter at The New York Times, wrote of the Romney campaign's tax promises in a recent blog post: "Not all of those principles can coexist so long as basic arithmetic survives."

For the Romney supporters who actually bother to read this post, doesn’t this disturb you, just a little bit…?

This is my way of thinking.

                      To continue hope and change.

It's been a sometimes heated discussion, between Republicans and Democrats alike.

I was in the middle, but all I see from the republicans on here, is hate and blame.

There's been no positive contributions from Mitt or Paul, that would sway my choice towards a Republican vote.

Mitt Romney has not ran a good campaign. He flip flops all over the place. I'm also convinced that he has no ability to lead this country in the world arena. He's way too impulsive.

                      Bottom line...VOTE OBAMA.

But the battle isn't finished there, we need to gain control of the senate, and maintain congress.

Otherwise, the Republicans will continue to thwart any attempts Obama makes to avoid the fiscal cliff.

Look at CNN's "snapshot" of Obama's economy with any kind of a sensible time smoothing and it's obvious that a turnaround and gradual recovery is underway. It is also clear that Federal spending is coming under control, and that debt as a fraction of GDP is stabilizing. The CBO also shows a number of studies concerning the stimulus' beneficial effects and the provenance of the recent additions to the national debt.

The problem with most GOP arguments is an intellectually dishonest cherry picking of the data, and the problem with their suggested policies is a rigid adherence to some transparently false fantasies of voodoo, trickle down Wish Economics.

                        1. Fantasy: Lower taxes on job creators actually create jobs. No, demand creates jobs, and over 50 years of data there is no correlation between income tax rates (steady decrease) and unemployment (wildly oscillatory).

                        2. Fantasy: Success in American business is due solely to the heroic entrepreneur and corporate leader. No, it ain't, all the help given by legal or physical market infrastructure, as well as the hard work from your employees is an essential, big part of any successful business.

                        3. Fantasy: Business tax breaks and minimal regulation are always good. Horsescheiss — Love Canal, BP Horizon Oil Spill, Exxon Valdez Oil Spill, Wall Street crisis # (well you pick one), etc.

                        4. Fantasy: Debt is out of control and we GOP are the only ones who care. Wrong, but it certainly is a serious question and far too serious to get emotional about. Revenue and spending can balance and have been successfully balanced in times past. Never mind a $5T tax cut to the rich, a tax base of $2.7T AGI is an available resource every year from the highest 2% fat cats.

5: Fantasy: Defense spending needs to increase. Horsehocky. We outspend our five nearest competitors combined, and that top five list includes some of our allies! What needs to increase is creatively synergistic and leveraged R&D on new energy technologies and other sources of export trade. Some of this will be defense relevant anyway — learn to fight the next war, not the last war.

                        6. Fantasy: Entitlements are dominated by a culture of dependency. The core of Myth Robme's 47% LIE. Fact is that most of those entitlements arise from veteran's service, social security, and medicare — all of them earned benefits from a lifetime of paying into the system with your blood or treasure or both.

GOP obstructionism just adds another dastardly layer of unpatriotic refusal to govern to this echo chamber of Wish Economics fantasy. GOP pandering to climate change denier pseudo-science, bug nuts crazy creationism, and bizarre arguments about human reproduction just adds another dastardly layer of completely irresponsible citizenship.

The following is a personal example of why I will NEVER vote for Mitt Romney or any other vulture capitalist masquerading as a ‘job creating business man’. I was raised by a single mother in a small, industrial, western PA city. Things were tough until she remarried a very good guy from Pittsburgh. He had enlisted in the US Marines immediately after high school and went to the south pacific where he was at Peleliu. One of the worst battles of the pacific. After he returned to PA he worked his way up in various companies until we were middle class comfortable but certainly not wealthy. When he was in his mid-fifties his company was bought by disgraced, convicted of tax evasion Victor Posner. Posner deemed my step-fathers company’s pension ‘over funded’. He took the money out. My step father was given the choice to sign-away his pension for a $30K annuity. Mitt Romney is nothing more than a better dressed version of Victor Posner. He is a LIAR and a job destroyer, with Bain Capital being a pioneer in outsourcing American jobs to China and making other ‘financial wizards’ rich. He will never get my vote.

And people who are desperate for work think that he could be their savior? Yes, if they have his "god-given talent" and care to stoop to his level. Otherwise delusional.

Personally, I enjoy Joe Biden's quips and quotes and yes; he can be a bit off color with his comments and folksy remarks but frankly I find Joe to be quite refreshingly humorous. If Romney could make jokes the GOP would love it and there would be sound-bites heard around the world; sadly, Romney cannot...he is about as funny as in-stage renal failure! I know, and have always known, that when the need is called for Joe can be 'severely' serious with the best of them BUT what's wrong with him promoting a bit of jocularity at the GOP's expense?

I remember back in '08 when Giuliani mocked then Senator Obama, making a BIG ha-ha about Barack Obama having served as a 'Community Organizer' which he would repeat in continued succession at a hardy-har-har-har at the end each time! Who's laughing now Mr. Split Bald? That Community Organizer got bin-Laden and has a litany of successes which can now be added to his already vivid resumé. The Republican brand has tried without success to belittle Pres Obama and name-calling has been at the top of the list, ALWAYS! But let Biden make a joke or Pres Obama himself and all of a sudden, style points are more precious than life itself. The GOP faithful are full of sh!t up to their goddamn eyeballs and I hope the Democratic surrogates keep right on slamming, bashing, and stinging their LYING, sorry asses!

                              Right on...

Already voted so save your breath on trying to defend the class divisive lead from behind liar in chief we have now.

Obama budget 0 votes from either party says a lot.

The Senates failure to place bills on the floor, is what is holding up economics.

Why did the pipeline from Canada get stalled, damn better check out Soros and his connection to Obama as it is pretty clear.

Then again when your federal taxes, social security taxes and health care kicks in you will definitely be feeling the pain then. You could tax the 1% at a rate of 100% and it would last 8 days of government spending.

6.3 trillion dollars in new debt and nothing to show for it yet, no budget, bomb foreign countries without approval from Congress. Illegal dream act. 20% of all ACA waivers went to Pelosi's district not state district. Why? Cronyism or corruption. Biased news media as the owners are from where?

Obama has failed to reach across the aisle on anything. His way or the highway. Well I guess he gets to go the highway route soon.

Fathom a society where every citizen must prove they have health insurance, but not every citizen must prove they are a citizen. Yet all citizens will be paying for healthcare for those who refuse, or won't prove they are a citizen.

How ignorant? You left out those who simply cannot afford health insurance because they have minimal income or no income whatsoever. These are the people that Barack Obama is trying to help just as he said he would do when he ran in '08. IF he doesn't help the disenfranchished then who will? The Republicans? ROFLMBAO! They wouldn't help Jesus if he were in trouble! Or do you propose like most Republicans; just let them die? Not everyone is born privileged; certainly not.

Many minorities are raised by a single parent which allows a considerable edge for those raised by mother and father. Many black men are chased out of the family unit simply because they cannot find work due to low or no educational skills; so they are put on the list of dead-beat dads when in fact they would like nothing better than to be with their woman and children but if they show up they are immediately arrested for delinquent child support. Damned if you do and damned if you don't!

You argue that Pres Obama never reached across the aisle but Gov. Christie of New Jersey has a completely different view of our President. He tried and the GOP spat in his hand as they each REFUSED to work with a black president. The GOP is full of SH!T if anyone is and so are you!

Like ALL neo-cons, you are greatly delusional and refuse to see the truth that is right before your very eyes. You are obviously a racist and a hater of those different from yourself. Pres Obama has not failed at anything when one allows for the fact that a Republican held House has fought him every step of the way and then want to blame him for ANYTHING AND EVERYTHING! As to his foreign policy there's this one annoying little fact that ReSuckicans would love to ignore; he got bin-Laden, didn't he? How terrible for your side?...hee hee hee!

Fu.ck you and your tilted, warped view of reality! You don't have the guts to deal with the truth so go somewhere and just DIE! You are hurting the pursuit for true democracy and contaminating a glorious society!!!

                                  Right on...

Jerry, the GOP made it their number one priority to obstruct and block anything positive that Obama would try to do, all in an effort to restrict him to one term.

When bipartisan bills came to the floor, even the GOP members that supported and helped craft those bills, voted against them. All in an effort to obstruct.

How can you possibly respect that?

Biden? now there's a piece of work in motion, can't get his facts right can't see past his nose when someone's in a wheel chair and asks the person to stand up and take a bow. He comes and represents a very crooked state next to where the other snakes comes from the both have tainted pasts. Has anyone ever wondered why all all major corporations and many smaller business are incorporated in Delaware-because there are no laws on the books, Delaware is a safe zone!

from her, and give it to Middle Class America?
Do you think Michael Jordan would support a president
who was going to take away his money and give to You?
Would P Diddy, George Clooney, Barbara Streisand or

money and gave it to Middle Class America? You may
like to Imagine they would, but would they?

Quite the opposite, Barack Obama has taken your
Middle Class America's tax dollars and given them
to, count 'em, Wall Street Bankers, Wall Street
Credit Card Hounds, and Wall Street Mortgage
Brokers. How much bailout money did Barack Obama
                                    give Y O U ? If you got Barack Obama's bailout,
then vote for him, if not...

When I vote, I won't be voting for the man who gave
away MY MONEY, I don't care how many Wall Street
lawyers cried for it. Barack Obama may cut Middle
Class America's fiscal throat, again, but I am NOT
                                    going to help him.

That's the difference between someone like you and someone like the guys you quoted. No one asked these guys to give away all even just a chunk of their money. When the top tax rate was 90%, once upon a time, it didn't mean that the rich gave up 90% of their income, only 90% of the last dollar they earned. They still had plenty left. The guys you quoted understands that but apparently you don't. The truth is no one, and that include people like you, earns his/her money working in a vacuum. We all live in a society and the society needs a healthy infrastructure for all to live in peace and harmony.

You said, "I won't be voting for the man who gave away MY MONEY". Romney had used government money (YOUR MONEY) all throughout his "sterling careers" using all sorts of tricks. You definitely have no business voting for him.

Leave it to Joe Biden to misrepresent and take out of context what Romney actually said, which this article points out. Perhaps Joe should watch Sesame Street more often so that he can learn to read for himself! Regarding Sesame Street, they make hundreds of millions of dollars a year-they don't need government funding, which is another point Romney was making!

If Biden is looking for a joke, look no further than his own campaign! Half the time these days Biden doesn't even know what state he's in, at which point he has to call Obama, who in turn tells Biden "how am I supposed to know which of the 57 states you happen to be traveling in." LOL! What a pair!

                                        kenishere,

How do you figure Sesame Street "makes hundreds of millions of dollars a year". They are completely non-commercial, supported by viewers like me, philanthropists and a paltry amount less than $400 million a year of Federal funds. They provide some of the most intelligent programming available in the U.S.A., and have provided pre-school education for many years.

Myth earned a hell of a lot ore than that by scamming us all with his Delphi extortion racket during the auto bailout.
