ARVADA, Colo. -- Ka-zing.
Three days before the election, Vice President Joe Biden pegged his newest critique of Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney to the semi-annual inconvenience of adjusting clocks for Daylight Savings Time, which occurs tonight.
"It’s Mitt Romney’s favorite time of the year -- because he gets to turn the clock back!" Biden told a crowd of hundreds at a suburban Denver high school.
In his remarks, the vice president accused Romney of embracing social policies out of an earlier era, pointedly noting the GOP nominee's voiced enthusiasm for "getting rid of" Planned Parenthood.
"With all the issues facing the country, Gov. Romney has focused on for the last three months [that] he's going to get rid of Planned Parenthood" Biden said. "And by the way, he doesn't even know he doesn't control Planned Parenthood."
"He should talk to Big Bird!" he added, referencing the scuffle over public broadcasting funding that broke out during one of the presidential debates.
(In context, Romney said last spring he was going to "get rid" of federal funding for Planned Parenthood, not get rid of the entity itself.)
Biden has two events scheduled in swing state Colorado Saturday. He will campaign Sunday in Ohio.

There is an old film clip that has been shown on the History Channel many times that shows a woman looking with wildly insane eyes at Hitler while she gives him the Nazi salute. This is exactly the look in Romney's eyes as he looks at his audiences. It's like he's thinking to himself, "These crazy people actually believe me, even though I despise 47% of them. When Obama wins on the 6th, everybody better stay home or carry your concealed weapons with you all day on the 7th because every disappointed, rabidly slobbering wing nut in the country will be out trying to drown their sorrows and road raging everywhere!
I don't know about the road rage business, but I have no doubt that alcohol sales (the kind you drink) will skyrocket once reality sets in with the Romney/Ryan fanatics. I can also see calls to the police ballooning for them to do something with irate Republicans upset that 'the black man' got re-elected. Blood pressure medicine will be flying off the shelves on Wednesday. Valium sales to the well healed Republicans will be off the charts as their peers in the Boardrooms try to conduct business with people who just can't understand how the country could have re-elected Obama. Calls to Switzerland, The Cayman Islands and similar places will have people trying to make international calls get that recorded message saying 'all circuits are busy, please try your call again later'.
I'm thinking that moderate Republicans must be asking themselves how in the heck did we ever get here? Charlie Crist was right when he said there isn't anyplace in the Republican Party for moderates. It's a sad state of affairs for moderate Republicans.

Hi "Danno1". Easy to hide behind a screenname and call at least 51% of the population "stupid" isn't it? Such an "intelligent and thoughtful" person, as you claim to be, would rarely call out a huge number of Americans as "stupid". My guess is that quite a few of us Republicans scored higher than you on the SATs, actually graduated college, and have decent jobs.

You might be surprised at how many liberals are college-educated, fully employed, and many of us have served in the military.
It's a crying shame how politics has spiraled downward in the last few years. Since you are from Ga. I should remind you that this started with Newt Gingrich, back in the 1990's. Since you are college educated, you will know that it's true.
Let's hope that after the election, we can get back to the business of being proud to be Americans. This partisan name-calling is toxic.

I am not sure if you are blaming toxic name calling on the current election or Newt Gingrich or both.
But if you are neither is to blame. People are responsible for the words they chose to use and just because someone else uses toxic name calling does not mean it is their fault if someone else does. People must take responsibility for their own actions.
I do call allot of people morons among many other words, I also use slut, a..hole, "crap" for brains. But you are wrong moron is not my favorite, my favorite is "GET YOUR HEAD AND ASS WIRED STRAIGHT". I do not care for certain people being around me. Mainly lazy, stupid, foolish and amoral. I also cannot stand liars and people who break promises (yes i know sometime things happen and promises get broken). Politicians and their followers (it is almost as if it is a religion onto itself) are the worst at lying and breaking promises. Politicians will tell of great things he has never done, promise you all the things you want to hear and then never do,he slanders his challenger as the liar and fraud and then there are his followers sad, aimless, child like, people latching onto his every word as if god himself has spoken them (the morons). Then they take it upon themselves to spread their master's words causing hate, bitterness and division. We now have a government who gives money and health insurance away to `the poor' for free and America has to pay for it. Also, there is 1.15 trillion dollars in TARP money given away to save the rich and famous and really no accounting of all of the destinations it was slated for. My wife's med insurance went up so high that we had to drop-it. The gas is at an insane price level which the government calls the new norm and the new change. The proxy name for reparation is redistribution and I believe this is the beginning of middle-class becoming poor!!!. Romney wants to stop it and I want to help before its to late.

I believe President Obama truly cares and he is definitely more in touch with more people in this nation. He just simply is. He's more down-to-earth and more diverse than Mitt Romney. I like that quality and I think it is a great thing to have as the President of the United States.

It takes time to "undo" all the crookery in this country bc you have to fight to change laws and put new laws in place to protect the citizens in the future. There is plenty of private funding for abortions out there and abortion remains completely legal to all who seek it....why make it a federal government funding mandate?

I believe people should pay for their own abortions; however, don't make people go into the poor house to do it. Because people will still fall through the cracks. That is human nature. I see it every day. And the result is more helpless children who come into a world of pain. We must find a way to stop people from having so many UNWANTED babies.

Romney pays more in tithe and support to the poor than the current President and Vice-President combined. But his tithe paying and support do not give him any status with God. Why is that? The truth is that God does not carry a bounty on people He loves and died for no matter their political affiliation. In truth God loves Romney, Ryan, Obama, and Biden...some of them just don't actually know who He is...yet.

I wish we all could turn back the clock perhaps Obama would not be occupying our White House. I don't think Mr. Romney wants to go back in time, but what would be so wrong with that? Back in the day when things were great, my dad worked, my mom stayed at home and took care of us kids, my parents were buying a home without any difficulties, we had health insurance and dental insurance for all of us, when we were teens--we all had cars, we all had bank accounts, we took family vacations, we had a roof over our head and food on our table, and I never once saw my father stress about finances--we were a middle class family and we had it all. We could also leave our doors unlocked at night and we never feared the person walking toward us. Going back might not be a bad idea, but I think Mr. Romney is well aware that he needs to move the United States forward and he will.

Sorry but tax dollars should never go to pay for abortions or contraceptives. First off, having sex is a choice not a requirement. Second, having unprotected sex and not wanting a child is just plain STUPID. Condoms cost about a dollar per pack at the store. Also, using tax dollars to pay for things like abortions and contraceptives is a violation of first amendment rights for people who do not view them as humane.
Things that should get tax dollars are things like mammograms and PAPS smears. Planned Parenthood should get tax revenue if that only goes towards things like this.
Their is hope for you.
But their is no need for money to go to private organization like planned parent hood at all since every state has some form of indigent care for everyone. Yes i have experience in this, i had to take a friend to the county hospital north of fort worth. He had to declare he was poor and got tests and treatment and no cost to him except the fact that his taxes and mine and everyone else in Texas paid for it already.
So again why is the government getting involved in such things, would such programs be more efficient and better targeted if the states handled welfare and indigent care.

So MSNBC misses it again. The headline is not the Biden zings Romney, rather, it is that Biden doesn't know what he is talking about, as usual. He claims Romney wants to get rid of Planned Parenthood and then states: "He doesn't even realize the government doesn't control Planned Parenthood." Even MSNBC had to point out that what Romney actually said was that he wanted to "end federal funding for Planned Parenthood." So, not only does Romney know what he is talking about, Joe, once again it is YOU who doesn't know what HE is talking about. Not that anyone needs another reason to vote for Romney, but the idea of Joe Biden as President is downright frightening! Hey Joe, stick to plagiarizing the speeches of others, at least then you won't say such stupid things, just things that someone else said first!
