Subscribe to RSSMENTOR, OH - A day after President Obama’s “voting is the best revenge” comment became the latest object of GOP nominee Mitt Romney’s ire, Obama campaign press secretary Jen Psaki sought to explain the context of the remark.
“The message he was sending,” she said, answering a question about it while traveling to Mentor, Ohio, with reporters on Air Force One, “is if you don’t like the policies, if you don’t like the plan that Gov. Romney is putting forward, if you think that’s a bad deal for the middle class, then you can go to the voting booth and cast your ballot. It’s nothing more complicated than that.”
President Obama continued his tour through Ohio with a campaign stop in Springfield, Oh., where he continued to criticize Governor Romney for running deceptive Jeep ads saying "This is not a game, these are people's jobs."
Obama’s offhand comment came Friday during a campaign rally in Springfield, Ohio, as supporters booed the mention of Romney’s name.
“Don't boo. Vote,” Obama said first, using a line that has become standard for him on the stump. “Voting's the best revenge,” he continued.
Earlier Saturday, Romney condemned the comment as overly negative, telling a crowd in Newington, N.H., that he thought it “surprised a lot of people.”
“Vote for revenge? Let me tell you what I’d like to tell you: Vote for love of country,” Romney said to cheers.

I actually believe that the polls are not reflecting many of the young and and many in the middle class and working poor. Many in these groups do not have land line phones because it is too expensive to have both, so they chose the cell over the land line. Pollsters have not been polling the cell phone only people as much as the land line phones.

President Obama is not perfect and I do not agree with everything he does. He hasn't he been able to do some of the things obstructionists prevented but despite that he has brought this country back from the brink of economic collapse and moved us in the right direction both economically and socially. I believe that when re-elected he will continue to do so in a way that will bring lasting economic health and growth while preserving the rights of the middle class, the poor, women and minorities.
If republicans had been able to field a candidate that had some truly workable ideas, personal integrity and conviction, perhaps someone like Chris Christie, I might have considered voting for him. But they did not. Instead they trotted out a buffoon, an empty suit so devoid of honesty and principals much less sincerity or integrity that he is virtually a caricature of the proverbial smooth tongued politician. Companies such as Anheuser Busch found it to be a good financial move to sell off their assets (lower taxes meant keeping more money). Since rich Americans were in a sell mode, the selloff went to Foreign investors.
Also our tax money keeps Americans employed building roads, schools, Parks, etc. Our tax money pays for the FBI and Federal Prisons. Too many criminals getting out early too many getting away. Less employment means less tax income.
The GOP wants to paint it as a simple question but the reduction in Government tax money is a huge issue with tentacles everywhere.

Obama's team campaigning on Air Force 1 and Air Force 2 have cost the taxpayers millions of dollars.
Let's take Saturday the 3rd when he went to 8 states, lets say that AF1 flew 5 hrs @ 179,000 per hour, (you with me libbies) total cost (and this is on the low side $895,000.
Now multiply that by allllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll the campaign trips that they have gone on. We the taxpayers have paid millions for Obama & company to use government aircraft for campaigning.
Yes other past presidents have done it, but not to the extent that Obama's team has.
I believe the amount of the reimbursement should be made public as it was with previous administrations (not all).

I am 56, registered Democrat who grew up Roman Catholic outside of Buffalo, NY. I have been voting since I was 18, so for 38 years I have voted for local, state, and national elections. I have considered it my duty and a privilege that my family, including my father, my sons, my daughter, my brothers, and my son in law as well as many other family members and a ton of strangers have fought to give me that right.
I do research on all facets of each candidate before I vote. I try to vote for the candidates that have platforms that are most important to my family and myself.
Did I always vote party lines? No, I have always voted for what I felt was the best candidate.
I can tell from the posters on here that most of you have not done your research and how can you make an educated and informed vote if you refuse to do the research on the candidates?

We are now spending over 1 trillion dollars per year for welfare.

A record 5.4 million workers and their dependents have signed up to collect federal disability checks since President Obama took office, according to the latest official government data, as discouraged workers increasingly give up looking for jobs and take advantage of the federal program.
This is straining already-stretched government finances while posing a long-term economic threat by creating an ever-growing pool of permanently dependent working-age Americans.
Since the recession ended in June 2009, the number of new enrollees to Social Security's disability insurance program is twice the job growth figure. (See nearby chart.) In just the first four months of this year, 539,000 joined the disability rolls and more than 725,000 put in applications.
As a result, by April there were a total of 10.8 million people on disability, according to Social Security Administration data released this week. Even after accounting for all those who've left the program — about 700,000 drop out each year, mainly because they hit retirement age or died — that's up 53% from a decade ago.
